Mei looked upon the horsemen with a look of amusement as his shot missed the hunter, choking down a laugh. "Because you horsemen are bad news, boil." Moving in again, she struck the boil with a swift kick to his side, hoping to knock him off balance if she had any luck.

As the skirmish went on, Enpie Sea the moon hunter scurried past, dodging snarling horsemen and struggling Hunters to grab Jerry, throwing him over his shoulder before dodging off to their recoup area.

He fell to one knee, gasping for breath - until he felt the feather-light touch and surge of FEAR from another horseman healing him. Before he could look up, he was gone.
"TORGUS THE MIGHTY THANKS YOU, NOBLE WARRIOR!" After all, it was only proper. He turned back to the female hunter he'd been squaring off with, ignoring the Halloween students at her side.

"For what it's worth - I don't have a trophy cabinet either. I'd just..." she laughed, "eat it." In fact, that would have been preferable for the entirety of Mimsy's existence. It was almost ironic - a year ago Shehk had claimed innocence against the hunters who said they were just mindless animals.
And now she was turning into what it was they hated - because of them.
However, when she snapped towards the hunter again, the swing of the weapon caught her off guard and derailed her snapping, leaving her with a mouthful of coat that she attempted to shred instead.

NOT ATTACKING - DED
It would be safe to say that Ofelia was in a world of pain unlike anything she'd felt before, and that was that. Her shield was flickering, her weapon was silent, and all she had in her head was echos of nothing.
This was not good. She needed to get up, to get away, but she couldn't move. Nothing was working, her whole body ached, and before she could respond or call out to anyone to let them know to run, she was attacked.
The world went white, all she heard was the sound of a breeze, and the redhead known as Ofelia hit the ground.
Her eye was wide open as blood pooled beneath her.
redheaded, one-eyed hunter wielding a set of blades knuckledusters. loud, proud, oddly properly attired for the current temperature levels hates horsemen with a passion and unafraid to show it. slightly more biased towards students, perhaps
Brushing some snow off her, she hoped dearly that no one went for Kat in the next few minutes. She would not be quick enough to defend her. Ceres narrowed her eyes, and glared ice at the other woman. No one, NO ONE, insults her friends like that. Mother bear mode activated, she was ******** pissed.
"..........Get off your high ******** horse and gotohell." She growled back at the horsemen, for the first time lifting her blade and making a stab at the other woman instead of defending.
She saw a moment later that another hunter, one she did not know but Kat called 'lex', made a move agains thte horsewoman as well. She gave him a quick nod in greeting.
She was fascinated by the orb, the Fear thriving in her hands. She was too fascinated.
Even centuries of living, experience, could not stop her reflexive reaction as the end of a glowing blade cleaved a little too closer to her, as she was flung directly into the resounding shockwave backwards -
- As the orb sailed cleanly from her hands.
Allan paused from his regained attack, just slightly, hesitating as he looked down-
The Head Priestess snarled. "Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on-"
- CRACK. The white edge of the blade sliced the orb cleanly in half.
At first nothing happened. Just an inevitable silence, and then a thick pain, a sorrow that all horsemen and initiates felt, that anyone aligned with Fear could feel. The sound of something breaking, shattering, again and again. The sound of loss.
The moment lasted only bare seconds, the next a resounding burst both black and white light, intertwined, spewing all directions. The force was tremendous. Even Medea could not have accounted for its pure untapped Fear, the Fear of hundreds of bloodstained bodies accrued into a single artifact. Fear that would have taken just Halloween alone years, decades to accomplish by simply slowly cultivating slowly. After all, the Fear of death was the most absolute, the burst of energy of a life the moment before consumption.
Allan managed to dig his sword into earth - that was slowly dissolving purely through the overexposure of Fear. His weapon crackled, as little warning as he got before he realized the severity of the impact, the Sun lead grabbing the closest Hunters to him as fast as possible away from the immediate blast radius as it chased them, footstep by footstep.
Medea was not so lucky, and yet Fear was her element. As she soaked in it, as several Horsemen and students felt the Fear, they also heard a voice, no, several voices. Cries in unison, broken and longing.
"Return it to us."
The orb was calling them. Even split, it still pulsated, erratic.
"Return the Fear to us."
Those who had consumed the errant Fear could see it: a dull fog, a wispy white blanket of near nothingness crying out to them. For the Horsemen it was a familiar sound, voices once lost. A friend, a family member, pits and pieces of memories that were already fading. For students, it was the feeling of the unknown, of something so old and powerful, and yet foreign at the same time. It would make many question exactly what the Horsemen were, exactly what they were fighting for, and exactly what they had lost.
The Fear itself however was euphoric. This was exactly what it felt like to be in power and have power. To realize exactly how insignificant everyone else was, and how much they could gain themselves. Everything around them looked smaller. They oddly felt crammed, as if their very existence themselves, their cores, was holding them back. It felt oddly right, it made them feel sated, warm, and-
- Powerful. It all boiled down to power. The Hunters were by all means insignificant. None of them stood a chance, not before, and definitely not now. And yet, who was calling to them, telling them to return the Fear? A strange heaviness weighed. They were powerful and yet-

HORSEMEN AND INITIATES/ STUDENTS:
- As the orb breaks, the Fear it has been containing escapes, sweeping into everyone on the battlefield. It makes them significantly stronger - PLEASE NOTE ALL PLAYERS even those sucked into the vortex have returned to the field of battle! - All players can roll 2d12 -6 instead of their usual dice. ALL PLAYERS. - Bonuses carry over (see p. 33) - Once again same PVP mechanics apply. HOWEVER:

- As players soak up in their newfound strength, they are also very strongly aware of something watching them. If the split orb could speak, it would be crying out. There a strange feeling of guilt and sadness each and every time, every move the horsemen/ initiates/students make with their newfound power. All they can hear is a voice asking for the Fear to be returned. - Horsemen/students/ initiates can CHOOSE. All players have +10 extra Fear. For each attack they use with their new-found power that is -1 Fear. They can continue using it and keep it to themselves to use (carried over until used up), or they can respond to the call. - If you personally downed a Hunter/ NPC Hunter during this event, that is also +10 Fear. For each one that will be +10 Fear. You can return this to the orb as well! - The orb has no Fear, being split. However, it slowly attempts to mend itself. For each Fear RETURNED to it: ie a student or horsemen or initiate visibly hands back the surplus Fear to the orb, it gains a Fear amount equal to what the character had. If doing this, please post the action in BOLD RED, and quote the Fear amount returned in OOC to Zoobey. - Ie: I am Sue: I was granted the 10 base Fear. I attacked nobody, and returned that extra Fear to the orb. The orb now has +10 Fear again - At +100 Fear, the orb will light up again and...... - Or else simply fade away...
HUNTERS:
- Same PVP mechanics apply - PLEASE NOTE ALL PLAYERS even those sucked into the vortex have returned to the field of battle! - A Hunter that dissipates a Horsemen/ initiate/ student etc with Fear will stop the effect from happening. When the student dissipates, the extra Fear will be released back into the wild/ they are potentially stopping a disaster fro happening. - Bonuses carry over (see p. 33)

She would not fall- She- Gold eyes watched as Mengyao summoned forth his mount, the horseman she knew to rarely lose his temper going so far for mere insects? Insects. That was all hunters were. Nothing but maggots, worms they needed to crush under their heel.
Yet her gaze went around, the twins she was so fond of taking heavy blows. A low rage filled her. Had she been too idle? Perhaps. Perhaps Mengyao had the right of it. That it was simply a moment to ride into battle, to show them the fury of conquest. Her people were taking heavy blows, some from halloweeners no less. Insects helping insects. Sneering, she looked at the horseman of her own rank. What was that mortal saying, the one humans would tell each other?

Lan was not in rome, but she was among the battlefield, and those precious to her were the targets of hunters and traitors. A deep breath, the white of a mare rose up by her side, speckled red as if she’d already seen a battle. The gold and red of the ornate saddle were a comforting things and Lan stepped up, ridding not like a woman, but like a warrior. She’d been idle long enough. It was time to take more drastic actions. Gold eyes narrowed as lips were drawn into a thin line. Bow up, She fired. They would build defenses? She’d tear them down.

With Mei attacking one of the horsemen, Gale found himself among the throngs of horsemen, hunters, and students all chaotically fighting one another. In the midst of the confusion, he saw a flash of familiar pale hair, and reached out, stepping in front of her. Beside him was Ceres, and Gale gave her a grateful smile.
Sherry caught site of the horseman before he fired, but there was nothing she could do about it. She felt her fear shield being shredded, and was mildly surprised to have survived the onslaught.
Ofie! There was no way she'd avoided the attack, either. Sherry turned just in time to see another horseman, one Ofie had been fighting with, attack again. Ofie fell.
"Ofie!" Sherry took an angry swing at the horseman that had kicked Ofie, even as the field was covered by a blast of light and fear.

Jing was flabbergast, what was the ghoul even trying to do. "What the- you're mad." he exclaimed after picking himself back up from the floor from the swift kick to the side. It was expected that not all halloween students would be sympathetic to their case.
It wasn't their home that was destroyed, their family that was lost. How could all of them ever hope to understand all that loss. "You don't care for our cause, fine." he answered with a flippant tone and pushing Ying behind his back. The little hair clasp with his pale jade crystal was undone, the stone pulsed with a faint glow in his pocket where it was quickly stowed away. "Then don't stand in our way then."
He would be dammed if he was going to lose anyone else because of some idealistic ghoul with her own disillusions.

A few shots from a gun, a chunk of ice from the fool who would surely die, and more annoyingly the medic had turned her sword against her and she hadn't had a chance to deflect the blow at all.
"We don't die and go to Hell little mortal." She flipped an axe into the air turning suddenly to sling the weapon at Kat's chest with a nasty glare. If she wanted to die, so be it.
"We simply return later angrier and more wrathful then before." Suddenly it changed, all of it, she could hear the voices, taste the FEAR as she slung the axe at the hunter. For a while she debated what to do. To turn that power against them? She glanced to the side seeing the broken orb, hearing voices from her past pleading for the powers return, mend the orb, feed it the power it needed to punish them all.
With a flick of her wings the horsemen shot back across the snow closer to the orb before holding out the crystal gem around her neck towards the orb, a flow of FEAR slipping from it towards the shattered artifact.
"You will not survive. In the end death will come for human mortals as always."
Light. Sound. Lots of sound. Mort found the ground again after being stuck by a horseman's arrow clean through, falling nearby the projectile with a gurgling noise of pain. Yet when he came to, he felt strangely . . . stronger. Mrr?
Fear was in the air, he realized, and heavy amounts of it too. For a wild moment the zomboil thought to see if he could possibly soak up more, maybe be able to gain the power needed to throw back all of these Hunters (and horsemen, if they continued to pursue him). But something else came to mind, a new tug at his core: a new whisper.
He recoiled at first, but he eventually recognized it for what it was. Longing. The orb was somehow calling out for them to return what it had lost. It resonated with Mort, and without hesitation gave up plans of power to return the object its energy, pouring out the Fear form his hands until he once again felt like a teenage undead student lost in a really big battle.
His head hurt and his legs wanted to give in, but he still had to go on. Somehow, one way or another, he found himself near Aymet - maybe because he was no longer a dracolich and therefore covered in Hunters. Mort just gave his friend a weary look that said he didn't want him to fight about this. "Just give it back, man," he told him, gesturing to the orb. "Just . . . J-Just to end this." He wanted to say "madness", but that term felt a bit too volatile for either of them at this juncture.
He had a lot of talkng to do after this. And not just with Aymet either.
