3nodding I can honestly say that while it may be high-pitched, it's not squeaky, and so much more hauntingly melodic than it is annoying, as she claims.

They need traffic to generate money.
They need money to upgrade the site.
They need to upgrade to lessen the lag.
They do this in hopes of keeping people on the site.
People on the site cause the lag.
