Phoenix. The X would probably just be misconstrued as you just wanting to have a letter tattooed on you. Or some other stupid thing could happen, you never know X could be considered a gang sign or something now what with all the retardation the world is going through. My old high school banned shirts with one solid color to prevent children from wearing gang colors -_-;

Honestly, don't let us tell you what to get. You gotta pick what is going to make you happy. If you like 'em both, get them both. YOu could get the phoenix with the X symbol smaller and placed above the 'head' of the phoenix. You would have both and it would flow well.
I'm obsessed with phoenixes so that's what my first two tats were... partially to represent my love of the x-men and my love of the mythology. Sadly, there is a third phoenix tattoo i want but it might be overkill at that point so I probably won't get it.
I'm ink obsessed... My newest one was from October and will get another in July for my 30th bday. Have a tattoo pact that if the Penguins win the Stanley Cup we're getting tattoos... if they don't, I'm pretty sure I'm getting one anyway. lol

@Keith > Start small. My first tat only took 30 minutes or so. I don't have a picture of that one. Nobody ever really sees it since my mid-drift shirt days are over. wink
@kisuke > Can't go wrong with the Phoenix. There is one action figure I have of her that has a wicked cool Phoenix logo for a future Jean. I always wanted that one inked. But 3 phoenixes, again, is overkill. lol

eh I'm O+ so everyone can use my blood, but I can only have O+ D:
I give platelets as well, they hook you up to a machine for 2+ hours and siphon platelets out of your blood then put the blood back in you.
