Roman released a quick breath of relief. He had felt like he was getting dangerously close to talking about something uncomfortable. "So it is," he replied cheerfully, letting their previous conversation go. "Think there are any fish in it?"
He wandered towards the pond so that he could get a closer look at its size. Glancing around the clearing, he said, "You know, we could set up jumps here. You can't see it from the barn or the house - we could keep it a secret while we trained Phoenix to jump, and Benvolio to do...whatever it is that he does."

" Eh oh well. Though I find it childish and pointless. But it's not my fight." Emily replied shrugging and swimming to the shallow part of the water.
Once she got to the shoreline, Emily laid down on the grass and smiled. The warmth of the sun was drying the water while warming her body up. Which she needed since she was shivering.

"Maybe," Xavier said, raising one eyebrow at Summer. "Thats for me to know and you to find out..." He smirked and chuckled a little. Evantually, he let her down gently when the water was shallow enough to be comfortable but one would still be able to swim. It was a very wide river, there was a lot of room in it. Lady was grazing casually, with the occasional upward glances at Shadow, Summer, and Xavier. The look in her eyes suggested curiousity, as though she were to say, "Why are you so fascinated with that stuff?"
"Probably." Kahlilia said, smiling. She remembered her small goldfish, Honey, who had been her only pet. Well, of course the fish in the pond would be much bigger than Honey, probably some more than ten times her size.
"That would be cool," Kahlilia agreed with a nod. "I could probably get Benvolio to be a racing horse, so maybe I could have him run around by all these fields." They were in a very large, slightly secluded area - or at least, this pond seemed secluded from the rest of the ranch.

"Well tell me how to find out and I will." she said in a teasing voice. She then grinned widely and pushed him backwards into the water. Shadow was busy rolling around in the grass for Summer had taken off her saddle before she started swimming.

Roman gave her a brief smile. "Perfect," he said, wandering over to the water and kneeling down, splashing the surface lightly with his fingertips. "It's pretty clear."
He looked around, nodding. "The footing's good," he murmured. "We could train Phoenix and Benvolio, maybe spend some time with Ariel out here. There's plenty of space." Smiling up at her, he asked, "So what do you think?"

"Hey!" Xavier surfaced quickly, laughing, and splashed Summer. Then, he dove underwater to avoid being splashed immediatly afterward. Well, until he would resurface at least. Xavier was having a ton of fun in the river with Summer, and was very happy that they had one on one time... very happy, ecstatic even. It was overwhelming, in a way, how emotions could take over anything in their path - including the human body and it's functions. It was like a bulldozer of sorts, destroying what was getting in it's way of winning.
"That sounds great," Kahlilia said with an amiable nod. This place was so beautiful, she thought, she wanted to stay here forever - and maybe she would, in terms of emotion. However, Kahlilia corrected herself quickly. What a wierd thought, she said to herself, how on earth would that even be possible? She walked over beside Roman and knelt down so that she was on her knees. She could see a small, chubby frog behind a long patch of grass to her far left, and smiled when it began to sing it's rak-rak-rak song. Kahlilia kept quiet since she was aware that if the frog heard noise, mainly footsteps, it would immediatly stop.

Roman smiled a little to himself. He watched a group of tiny tadpoles swimming in aimless circles near the edge of the pond. It surprised him to think how much of his life had been like that. Just wandering. No real destination, nowhere to go, no plans. Will that change now?
Hadn't it already? He was planning out his summer - with Kahlilia, to train horses in specialized ways, to teach a foal to love them, to do all manner of things. It was hardly aimless wandering these days.
He glanced at the frog with a deep interest as his mind led him further into the reflections on his life. It distressed him a little to realize how little he'd really done with the nineteen years leading up to this.

Kahlilia smiled and shifted herself so that instead of sitting on her knees she was laying down on her stomach, and somehow managed to do that without making enough noise to startle the frog. Kahlilia watched as there was a different song - one that the 'origional singer' seemed to like. The frog found a mate, she thought, beaming. It was wonderful, seeing the courtship between two creatures - even if they were just frogs. The frog couple left somewhere, because the song dissapeared. She looked up at Roman, with grass in her hair and a glowing, smiling face. The smile dissapeared and turned into curious energy, leading Kahlilia to sit up back onto her knees. "You okay? You look... I don't know, stressed."

Roman blinked, startled out of his thoughts. "Oh," he replied, "just thinking back a little. Realizing how little I've really done with my life, when I could have been helping people - or at least finding something useful to do with myself." He gave an embarrassed little shrug, saying lightly, "I tend to get morose like that sometimes. Don't worry about it."
His smile sad, he said quietly, "I just don't know where I'm headed, that's all."

When he resurfaced she splashed him back the grabbed hold of him and said, "Tell me how to find out or else," she then smiled brightly.

wolf-in-shadow Chris waved back then Thunder speeds past her and approaches the fence then jumps it and keeps going. Chris looks back at her and smiles and waves. Bessie jumped the fence and followed closely behind Thunder and Chris. She neighed and shook out her mane and Nanina grabbed hold of her pants so tey wouldn't fall of the saddle.

Thunder neighed in response to Bessie's neigh. Chris just laughed he then saw the house in sight and said over his shoulder and said, "Having fun Nanina?" he asked her.

"Find out what?" Xavier said coyly, smirking and continuing to raise one eyebrow. He had his arms wrapped around her in a sort-of hug and was grinning at Summer.
"Well," Kahlilia said thoughtfully as she pulled grass out of her hair. "I think you are... because you've managed to train Phoenix - or get him to at least tolerate you. And that's something none of us would have been able to do." She blushed and looked away briefly, realizing she was rambling. "I think you're going somewhere." Kahlilia looked back up at Roman and smiled sheepishly.

Roman smiled briefly. "Thanks," he said quietly, "but really that wasn't me. Phoenix just decided I was worth tolerating, I guess - it was all his idea." Staring off into the distance, he murmured quietly, "Do you ever wonder..." He grinned. "Not meaning to sound creepy, but if you were to die tomorrow, what would you regret the most?"

Kahlilia simply nodded in way of response, not really agreeing completely but not wanting to go any further into the subject. Her smile had faded into what looked like a curious facial expression and her eyes were glazed over. "You know," Kahlilia said, "Thats a good question... I think that I would regret not living my life to the fullest - not as in jumping off a cliff, of course. But, say, maybe just having fun and taking risks instead of waiting." Her green eyes returned to their normal state and seemed to glow. "How about you?"
