Seeing that Bullene had merely re-adjusted his position and landed on his feet, Saiko was seriously re-evalutaing his position in this fight...
More and more people keep coming. I'll bet if they knew that there was some-random member of Squad 9 sparring with the 7th Squad Captain we'd end up causing a scene. And that's not always a good-thing.
As his Reitsu grew, he watched Bullene intensely, for he knew that at any moment he could release his ShiKai and Saiko would really be in trouble. So every muscle-movement of Bullene's was under constant surveillance.
"Well, I see that this sin't going to be anything near easy. But heh, how'd it be fun then?"
More of his power was unleashed... He waited, digging his feet deep in the Earth, his left hand found its way to his sheave, using his wrist to se-settle his sake bottle.
Come on, you already know you can withstand his attacks, but that zanpakuto could become a serious issue. If only I had more instruction, more training, I'd be ready for this

Bullene, his arms locked with Saikou's, let the zanpakuto in his hand fall to the floor. He began to gather reiatsu in his fingers. Blades of reiatsu formed on the tips of his fingers. "Squad Seven Secret Technique: Sharp Hand..." Bullene bent his wrists inward, his fingers now pointing at Saikou's back. Bullene let out a deep chuckle. He hooked his right foot around the back of Saikou's ankle. He pulled his foot back, forcing the alignment of Saikou's spine to bend backwards. His fingers, as sharp as a blades, drove at Saikou's ribcage. "You are safe at no distance from me!" Bull said, laughing maniacally.

"Aaaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh!!!" Saiko screamed, as white-hot pain entered into his soul it seemed.
The pain! God, I don't know whether to cry or enjoy its glory
The only thing that seemed practical was to get away. He straightened out his arm and executed half a cartwheel-maneuver. This let him pull off a simple flip to be out of pain's way, but danger wat right in front of him now.
Breathing deeply, he gapsed "Damn you, I shoulda thought already you were going to drive me to a point of resolve like this."
He attacked again, sending a flurry of fists, each of them charged with his SpiritEnergy.
With the last attack he endured, he had a spike in his Reiatsu and now he felt a tad bit rejuvinated. He was now moving faster and more effectively, throwing as many punches as he thought would occupy the captain.
I need to figure something out, or else he's bound to get bored with me and just take my a** out!
Saiko spun in mid-punch, landing a blow and performing a full 360-spinning backfist, all the while reaching for his Zanpakuto...
PostPosted: Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:26 am

It was over in an instant.

Bullene was behind Saikou, gripping his left arm behind his back, holding it in place with a vice-like grip. The other hand was holding the zanpakuto that was previously placed on the ground, its blade between Saiko's body and arm. "Your zanpakuto will not be drawn here." The tip of the blade was below Saiko's throat. They were both on the floor. Bullene's legs were locked around Saiko's. His rear was resting on Saiko's legs.

Saiko couldn't have seen Bullene's movements. Bullene smiled at the thought of his last move.

((Flashback))

Saiko's flurry of fists was no problem for Bullene. He simply moved his open palm around, catching and absorbing the brunt of the blow from each fist. His Soft Palm defense technique helped him gather the energy he needed. Bull stuck his leg out, kicking his zanpakuto up. It flew through the air into Bull's free left hand. The blow that Saiko had landed met the side of Bull's zanpakuto. Bull's eye twitched, he saw Saikou's hand move to his belt. He grabbed the wrist that was attached to the fist that had just struck his zanpakuto with his right hand. Spinning into a Shunpo, Bull moved around Saiko's right side. Bullene had Saiko's arm behind him, pulling down, returning him to the floor. Bull slid his blade between Saiko's left arm and left ribcage. Bullene hopped up, using his abs to thrust his legs forward, around Saikou's waist. He bent his legs inwards, weaving them between his knees. The weight of Bull's mass had forced Saiko's body to the floor, on his knees.

((End Flashback))

"Do not ever take a Captain as lightly as you have done with me." Bullene said, his voice now commanding. "We will not hesitate to obliterate you." He kept Saiko's body in control with his three sealing holds. "You have successfully lost this fight." Bullene said, retaining his holds.

What? what a shame , Saiko thought to himself just when things woulda gotten fun...
His body went limp, he accepted this as an inevitability. He aught have done something, he knew that if he had gone full-out the Captain would have had more of a full-plate to deal with.
He was barely able to get out any words, due to the Zanpakuto so close at his neck. "Please, you know as well as I do that there was no underestimation in your abilities as a Captain. I was merely humoring you in testing my abilities."
He shuffled his midsection & legs, even under that much pressure; for Bullene's weight was heavily set on him and it was a little uncomfortable.
"I would like to hope that none of it was taken as disrespect, Bullene-taichou."
Technically, knowing our kind of passion for fighting, it was the most respectful thing I could think of at the time...

Jason wasn't really sure how long he sat there staring at his sword, but sometime after the first hour, he stopped meditating, and started to think.
"That voice said to just keep doing what I had been," he thought, "but what was I doing that was right? It can't be meditating, or I would have it by now. Well, maybe it was doing the sword exercises." Jason rose to his feet, unsheated his sword, and continued the sword forms, this time executing them flawlessly. He even did it twice, just for good measure.
"Well, that's not it. What was I doing right when the voice came?" He paused, racking his memory. "That's it!," he exclaimed. "I was asking questions. He must mean that there's something I'm missing that I should be asking myself. But what? What else am I doing differently?" He continued to search his mind for a few minutes, until he realized that the only thing different was that he hadn't messed up with the sword forms. "I wanted a saber, that's what I was thinking. But I can't get one, because all of these swords are katanas. The swords that aren't katanas are shikai. Aren't they?" But then Jason remembered that it's illegal to have your zanpakuto released within Sereitei. "So all those crazy weapons were unreleased zapaktou?" he asked. "Then how do I get one?"

"Hmm," Jason muttered to himself, mainly just to keep talking. "Everything in the Spirit World is made out of spirit particles. Shinigami fight using their own zanpaktou, which are made out of spirit particles. But averything else Shinigami do is powered by reiatsu. Shunpo, kidou, shikai, bankai; everything that seperates a Shinigami from the citizens of Rukongai is based on reiatsu, so why should this be any different?"
Jason then sat back in a meditating stance, but this time, he began to gather his reiatsu, slowly at first, but gaining speed. After about a minute, he was holding enough reiatsu to fire off a decent sized spell. Then, drawing his sword once more, he began to channel all the reiatsu he had gathered into his sword. He kept at this for a number of minutes until all the reiatsu he had gathered was in the sword. And he waited. And waited. And eventually the reiatsu dissapated, and there was no change at all.
"Great, just great. Nothing changed at all!" Jason exclaimed as he jumped to his feet and started pacing. "What am I missing?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 12, 2008 9:41 pm

Frustrated beyond belief, Jason threw his sword, point down into the ground at his feet. "Why aren't you working? Shouldn't there be some change in you?" Jason just stared at the sword, as if daring it to do something. And that was when he noticed something. His sword had a scratch on the bottom of the pommel. In fact, there wasn't just one scratch, there were many, most of them hiddenunder the handle wrapping. "Wait a sec," Jason thought to himself. "A new zanpaktou shouldn't have scratches on it. Everyone gets their own. And I'm pretty sure a dead Shinigami isn't going to return their sword; especially not if they've achived shikai. So why does this have scratches on it? Unless...unless this isn't a sword that can be released. What if I'm doing this completely wrong. What if I'm not supposed to put my reiatsu in the sword at all? What if my reiatsu is what makes the sword?"

Before stopping to think about what he was doing, Jason immediately charged the same amount of reiatsu he had previously. Instead of pushing the reiatsu into the katana, he spread his hands shoulder length apart, and focused it in between them. "I want a saber," Jason thought. "Just a simple cavalry saber."
And it was as simple as that. Within seconds, a cavalry saber materialized in his hands, complete with a sheath. He drew it out, just to test that it was real. And it was, from it's gleaming steel blade, to the silver hilt and handguard. But one thing was different from the saber he had carried throughout life. The hilt wrapping, instead of the navy blue he had come to know over his short life, it was a vibrant sea green. In later years, he would wonder why that hadn't tipped him off to what his shikai would be, but for the moment, he was just ecstatic. He jumped up, and with one hand, brought the sword down, marvelling in the perfect balance of it.
"This is wonderful! Now if only I could figure out what it's called, so I could put a name to this perfect thing," Jason said as he attached the sheath to his sword belt. "Now where do I put the katana, now that I don't need it?"

((OOC: Mind if I join you Jason?))

Kara had sat against the wall. He sat quietly on his knees against the wall where he observed every action, motion, word that every shinigami had performed. Every action taken sank into the back of his mind until his attention was focused on a man that had just now created his weapon. Instantly he took an interest to the weapon and was curious to how it would perform in battle. Dropping both hands to the hilt of his katana he temporarily disappeared from his sitting position and was seen sprinting at full speed only a few feet from where he sat. All shinigami could perform a flash step but it was to what extent each shinigami could perform this tricky maneuver. It wasn’t something that was simply teleporting from location to location but rather jumping from one spot to another. Though he was unseated within first squad he had graduated with top grades from the shinigami academy and could perform all the feats perfectly for his rank grades.

A captain could disappear and reappear from one side of the building to the other, but he could merely jump from a sitting position to a dead sprint only a few feet away. He couldn’t perform it to many times before he’d grow to exhausted and drained which would prove useless in battle. Though he was quick, speed wasn’t his specialty.

As he drew his weapon he aimed it for the knees of his opponent with a wide sweeping motion. It could be easily blocked or parried but it was more of an intro to get the two ready for battle. It only took one attack to get him excited for battle, but before then he was always nervous to fight… He always was, and even if it was a training session like this his gut still made butterflies.

Quickly he spoke and jumped back into an offensive Bushido stance, ”Kara Iji of first division…” Though his muscles where ready to attack his face and tone of voice was friendly, ”I’d like to test your zanpacto.” Chuckling he finished, ”And see if your fighting technique is as ugly as your weapon…”

Though the weapon looked just as handy as any Katana, Kara was born and raised within the old Japanese culture where Katana’s where the primary weapon of choice other weapons of this nature looked unbalanced and simply un-attractive. Though Kara would never be so ridiculous to doubt the abilities of another’s weapon simply on appearance…

Releasing Saiko, Bullene gets back on his feet. "Remember this fight, and remember it well." He said to the shinigami. He sheathed his zanpakuto and pulled his white haori from a pocket in his pants. He slipped it on over his shoulders. Stepping backwards, he disappeared, leaving behind only scuffs on the floor.

(( That would be great. I'm still waiting on my squad request to get accepted, so I'll have to wait a few days.))

Jason had been completely unprepared for an opponent, but it was clear that this one had no intention of harming him...yet. The sword sweep at his legs was quite easy to dodge, and Jason backpedaled out of its range, until he could take a one-handed ready stance.
"Kara Iji of First division. My name is Jason Dacre, of no squad for the moment," Jason said as politely as he could manage. "I never understood art, so my apologies if my zanpaktou is aesthetically unpleasing. But I would like to test it out as well. It has been over 150 years since I last used a saber, and something tells me I'll be a little rusty."
Jason took a few practice swings before settling his weight on his back foot and pivoting so that his right side faced Kara, making a rough T out of the shape of their bodies.
"Maybe my technique will be as ugly as my sword, but please, whenever you are ready, begin," Jason asked, though he wasn't as eager as he seemed. Jason had been trained in engineering Physics while at West Point, and the one thing combat instructors had always pointed out was that a musket weighed more than a sword. Almost anything weighed more that a saber, so if you didn't finish the enemy fast, you were going to get beaten down. If zanpaktou worked the same way physics worked, then Jason was looking at a hard fight.

As the man dodged his attack with ease Kara lifted his blade just over his own torso and pointed the blade out at the man, simply enough he lunged forward shoving his blade at the mans chest, more directly at his heart. The intent of the attack was perhaps maybe he’d slice his opponent with his sword but he was also expecting his opponent to move to either side to avoid being attack by a direct assault, by doing this Kara would throw up either his left or right elbow right into the mans face, hopefully temporarily blinding him as his elbow would crush the cartilage in his nose.

If the man either dodged and or blocked all of his attacks Kara would simply take another offensive stance and face his opponent holding his own blade at waist level and the blade pointed at the mans face. Kara hadn’t replied with anything more than an attack but took the chance now to reply to the mans words, ”Nice to meet you Jason.” he said flatly, ”It doesn’t matter what a tool looks like as long as it works...”

"Aaaaaahhhhh" Saiko said, having emptied his Sake bottle.

Well, that's just one mark down for the records.

"Hopefully you two enjoy yourselves, after a thorough @$$-whooping I like to go get sloshed." He had been recouporating, sitting next to a tree watching this random-altercation.
"Good luck with getting into your Squad 'eh?"
