After a while of staring out the window Lin caught a glimpse of Flint as he went past. At first she thought nothing of it, but then she looked up to see him watching a gambling game. Once she noticed that someone who was losing badly was suddenly winning, she wondered if Flint was helping the guy. Letting out a low yawn, she stood up only to stumble slightly at a cramp in her leg. She bit her lip, and backed up slightly as someone stormed out of the bar.
Once the cramp had eased, she made her way over to Flint and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. "Hey Flint, where is everyone else, and how long have I been out or asleep since we left the forest?" she asked curiously.

Flint held up a hand, giving out one last instruction: 'Just do what I've been telling you.' before turning away from the player and looking at Lin. "Lets see..." he said, holding out a fist, then raising his index. "Mike is off in the forest to heal after getting into a fight,-" he raised his middle finger alongside it "- Sorrow chased after him for some odd reason -" he held up a third finger "- Ashe went off to see what was up with those two...and other than that, we still have Luniya, Tyr, Rok, Usrah, Elgarez, and Rorsch missing in action." He looked a little surprised. "I'm amazed I remembered that." he said, shrugging and taking a sip of water before continuing. "As for how long you've been out, I have absolutely no idea. You seemed concious when you made it through the gate, but I haven't seen you since then." Flint added.

(ugh...RL sticks)
Ashe had watched the conversation between Sorrow and Mike, but had not made a move to help either one. She watched as Sorrow collapsed and wanted to move to help, but didn't want to upset Mike. After a few minutes Mike looked up and noticed her in the tree, but made no move to acknowledge her. He moved back towards the city, leaving Sorrow on the ground. Ashe jumped out of the tree and walked up to Sorrow. She picked up Sorrow carefully and started for the city as well. "I hope you haven't had your heart to broken..." she said softly to Sorrow.

(Ugh, I've been messing up the demon type, its only supposed to be bold! Fixed now though.)
As Mike walked back to the city, he tried to think of the memory that he had when he felt a strange aura from Sorrow. He pictured the two figures again and focused as hard as he could, trying to get a good look at them. "Come on damnit, I'm so close!" Mike said as he transformed back. He placed his hands on his head and focused as much as he could. The memory didn't get much better after the effort though. He got a sharper siloette, but nothing more. Suddenly, the one figure flashed full of color, and then went black. Mike had seen him, a young elf with silver hair and a white sash. All of Mike's motor and vocal skills disappeared, leaving him standing unconsiously, and he softly muttered "Contri..."
Mike shook his head as soon as he realized something was wrong, snapping him back to reality. What had just happened to him, and why did he remember the person's name, but not who they were? Mike thought about all sorts of questions as he entered the city again, heading straight for the inn. He walked down the alley and leaped up to the balcony of of his room. He walked inside and looked in the mirror. He laughed slightly. Here I am wondering who that man is, and I'm not even too sure who I am. Mike sat on the bed and lied down. It wasn't that he was tired, he was just waiting for nightfall.

Liniathe blinked. "Funny that, I can't remember what happened before we left the forest." She shrugged and yawned before stretched out. "Well I do hope the other come back sometime and if they don't, well we will have to see the human king without them. Though getting an audience with the human will be harder since my home was destroyed by something..."

"Well...that is strange...I don't remember seeing you hit your head...who knows." Flint said, downing some more of his glass of water. "At least it's partial amneisia. You still remember who I am, right? And our quest? How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked, holding up two fingers. He laughed, lowering his hand. "And I hope those guys do come back, it was more interesting with them. Now there's a bit of infighting, so that's never a good sign." he added, leaning back in the chair. "So...any plans? Do we see the king now, or do we wait?" he asked. "And it shouldn't be hard to get an audience because your home was destroyed...if anything, we can get either sympathy or even some anger towards our enemies out of him." Flint added.

(well, I was going to wait to post...but Demidom may not post for awhile, and I'm on)
Ashe carried Sorrow's unconscious form to the fringe of the forest and stopped. She couldn't walk through the gate with Sorrow, to many unnecessary questions she didn't want to answer. She placed Sorrow down on the ground and sat down next to her, thinking of how to get into the city. "I would cause a commotion if I flew over as a dragon...I could find a blind spot in the wall and jump over...But then I'll risk getting caught while I'm in the air." She scratched her head and sighed. "What to do...What to do..."

Sorrow’s eyes slowly opened and what she saw before her was the edge of the forest and as she turned she could see Ashe sitting next to her. She tried to think back as to what happened before she awoke. There was Mike lying there and she was there too, aiming an arrow at him but purposely missing. That’s what caused her to faint, the fact that the one she had a crush on was a demon. She didn’t know what happened to him and she became worried.
“Mike.. he… um… where is he? Did… I?”
She could barely get the words out of her mouth and she started to stutter and mumble to herself. She looked down at her hands and there was no blood on them. She didn’t kill him and she was relieved that she didn’t. However she was still mad at him for not telling her the whole truth. But she wanted to meet up with him in person and apologize to him for what she said and almost did. She turned over to Ashe and let out a sigh of relief.
“Ashe, I um… don’t know what I’d do without you. You’re a good friend. I.. think I can walk, I have something I have to do. Don’t worry about me this time, okay?”
Sorrow brushed her short silver hair to the side and smiled a convincing smile and then stood up and began to walk into the city once more. She walked forward into the main section and saw an inn on her right. She didn’t know why but she could tell Mike was nearby. She walked by the steps up into the rooms not taking notice to anyone around her. She crept up the stairs nervously trying to make as little sound as possible. Her heart was racing as she approached the door of the room that Mike was staying in. She took a deep breath and then knocked softly with a gentle rhythm on the door, hoping Mike was awake.

[I was just waiting till nightfall. Darkness is one of my main elements.]
Before Sorrow came to his door, Mike had drifted off into a gentle sleep. He drempt like he did when he was a mortal at first, seeing gentle, sweet, and relaxing things. And then his mind turned, and suddenly he was reliving all the things he remembered. He remembered his parents' faces, his burning house, a few of the many demons he slayed, and a good deal more. He could not recall much, and there were large gaps in his memory. Some pieces were connecting with others, and some were just drifting through his mind. Bits and pieces were out of order, but he still had the memory.
He remembered the name 'Contri', and then suddenly saw a deep mass of flames and darkness, three red eyes shining through the black abyss, and softly he heard the words "You shall be the Harbinger." The knocking on the door snapped Mike out of his dream and back into reality. He has sweating bullets, and as he wiped them off and smacked himself into reality he tried to sense who was at the door. The strange aura signaled to Mike that it was Sorrow. He couldn't feel any holy magic, so he wasn't sure if she was trying to finish what she started. As he sat up, he drew his sword and placed it to his left on the bed. Should there be any threat to his life, he could throw the sword in an instant. He just hoped it wouldn't come to that. As Mike rubbed his forehead, he cleared his throat and said "Come in."

She turned the knob slowly, as the door creaked open, and she turned looking into the room acting a bit hesitant. She noticed Mike lying there on the bed looking up at her and she could tell he was still a bit upset at her. She started to bite her nail and then brushed her hands back down to her side. She looked at him trying not to tear up as it was hard for her to hide her emotions.
“There’s something I wanted to say to you. I’m sorry for judging you. It’s just that…” She turned her head and looked to the side. “I’ve always had a fear of demons, ever since I can remember I have been scared of them. I was taught to kill and fear them. But…” She looked back at Mike. “You’re different. I guess I could say none of that matters now because I too was casted away from everything I once cherished. I’m sorry for what I said and you’re not a bad person. I too know the feeling of wanting to be something else. But I’ve let that pass, and I hope if anything, we can still be friends. I don’t mean you any harm, and even though you’re a demon, I still like you.”
Sorrow completely away from Mike and held her arms to her chest holding her arms as if she was getting cold. Her black wings stood up straight and she walked away downstairs, the tips of her wings brushing up against the ceiling. She slowly walked down the stairs her wings no longer extending. She sat down at a chair and looked over at the people but she couldn’t pick any of them out in the crowd that was now downstairs.
“It’s getting cold, nightfall.”

Ashe walked into the city, heading towards the inn. She walked in and spotted Lin and Flint. "Hey," she said walking up. "You look a little better, the color's returned," she said to Lin. Ashe sat down and ordered a glass of water.

Before Mike could respond Sorrow had already left. So a fallen angel has accepted a demon. Kind of ironic that we'll be going to different afterlives. Mike stood up and grabbed his sword, putting it back on his belt gently. The blade had seen him through alot, and if he could only remember how he had somehow wound up with it on him as a demon. His death and time in hell were blurry, with large chunks missing in between. He wasn't even sure that the memories he did have were real. They could be a fabrication, implants that were given to him when he was summoned. All he knew was his name because it was carved into the hilt of his sword.
As Mike walked onto the balcony he noticed the stars above. Night had just started, the best part of the day for Mike, as well as the worst. Mike leaped off the balcony and kicked off the wall of the building next to it, landing on the inn's roof afterward. As Mike looked up at the sky, the moon was faintly begining to appear. Mike turned and looked down at his shadow. The outline of his human form was spread over the roof, and slowly, a new shadow began to appear as the moon came out. Large bat-like wings and a more twisted body began to appear on the ground. Mike's physical body had not changed at all though. The moon was the only thing to show his true form all the time. Mike flapped the wings that should have been on his back, and the shadow moved as if they were there. He lifted his left hand, the one with the claws, and placed it to the ground. As he pulled his hand across the surface, the shadow of the claw left an indentation on the ground, not as much as if the claws would have really been there, but just enough to be noticable.
Mike rolled over and rested on his back, placing his hands behind his head and pulling his ponytail onto his shoulder. He took a deep sigh, letting all the cool air in, before releasing it back out. Night is a beautiful time, especially in this city. People began coming out of the taverns and stores, returning to their homes from where they had come from. As Mike slowly closed his eyes, a gentle breeze swept through his hair. Soon, he'd rise and begin prowling through the shadows, just ease-dropping on people, collecting information. It was how he had gotten this far in his journey, and perhaps it could get him farther still.

(since no one's posting...)
Ashe looked up from her glass and spotted Sorrow. She smiled mischiviously and got up from her table. Slipping silently up to the fallen she leaned over Sorrow's head and looked at her. "Come on, Mopey. Smile. It looks better on you."

Sorrow looked up to Ashe standing in front of her. She tried to smile but she just couldn’t. She still didn’t know much about Mike, or how he felt about her. She turned her head trying not to blush thinking about him. She looked at Ashe and perked up a bit. She smiled and then began holding her arms, shivering a bit. “I sure wish I had a jacket.”
Sorrow pulled the strap of her lute around her shoulder and began to strum a bit, not really playing anything in particular, just messing around. She looked up at Ashe once more.
“I guess you’re right. I shouldn’t let something like this bother me.”
