Unknown Variable Virtual Memory is also known as a "swap file" or "paging file." It's basically like temporary RAM allocated to your hard drive past the limits of your physical RAM (the actual RAM sticks installed in your computer), used to cache commonly used data and programs to speed up the execution of said data. Virtual Memory has it's limits, usually three times your physical RAM's limits (I believe). When your system becomes "low on Virtual Memory," that means your physical ram has reached it's limits and your Virtual Memory is starting to fill up. If both max out, your computer will more than likely freeze up as the amount of data trying to run will overwhelm your hardware's limits. THE MORE YOU KNOW~ : O Good to know I guess I should start burning cds to clear space up.

Actually bp, you can use this procedure from microsoft to clear your paging file at shutdown of your computer. Also, if possible, upgrade your physical RAM (the sticks of RAM in your computer). And lastly, try not to run as many programs. You may think you're only running two, but it's possible you're running up to twenty or more at once. Click Start, Run, and type in "msconfig" without quotes, then click OK. Go to the tab named "Startup" and click the button that says "Disable All." Click Apply and OK. A box will come up prompting you to restart your computer. Go ahead and do so. When your computer is booted back up again it'll notify you that you changed your system using the MSConfig utility. Check the box that says "Do not show this message again." and click OK. If you do have a lot of files that you wouldn't mind burning to discs to free up space on the hard drive, that would be good as well. Be sure to run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter through Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools, as both tools will improve system performance. Run any and all spyware and virus scans in both normal mode of your computer, and if you know how to, in safe mode as well. If you do all those steps correctly, you should notice a marginal increase in system speed and performance. :3
