Orrin took quick to the offense. Partially due to the age difference.

"Before you even start to suggest that Amy is my romantic interest, I'll have you know the last time I saw her she hadn't even hit puberty. Sith! Man... those thoughts do not need to be presented in such that way. I'm at least 10, probably 20 years her elder. I know you didn't know before, but... no. I haven't seen her in years really. I don't even know what she looks like anymore. Every so often, I go back to Coruscant, and I find a letter in a box next to her building, addressed to me. And I return the favor, writing back to her. Course, now that the Empire has gotten to know me personally, I'm not necessarily in the best of spots still. I really don't want to tell anything more. Otherwise you may find that some things that should not be told, will come out, and others that should, will be kept back."

Orrin sighed, as he heard that the fighters were passing through the electromagnetic field, and various orders involving towers and guns and whatnot.

"I believe I read somewhere that males differ from females in this position. Where males will retreat to solitude to work out their problems, women like to confide in others. Often, when a female and a male have problems, the male tries to retreat, and the female pursues, and often times, this simple disagreement of behaviors causes more problems than if they had waited until the male had dealt with his problems and was ready to go social again. Something tells me this subject is probably one of those times..."

"Kriffing...sith."

Kefka was back at Massassi Base before you could say "The Death of Alderaan".

Zendia merely blinked. "Barely. Was he the one who wished to stick with his beat up R2 unit?" She merely asked with a mild chuckle. "I wonder if his experiences with his droid are akin to mine with Rusty?" she wondered aloud. Dismissing the thought as quickly, she merely added, "Well, let's see if the Ruby gang can do it,"

And then, the radio gave out Ruby Lead's final orders.
"Luke, take Rubys Two and Three. Hold up here, and wait for my signal to start your run," Of course, his "signal" made quite the statement, by crashing into the Death Star.
"Biggs, Wedge, let's close it up," came another radio order, from the one Zendia assumed was Luke.
Zendia then gave Orrin a concerned look. "This Luke kid the Rubys just got better be damn good,"

"Seems he was good after all," Orrin stated, resisting the urge to jump up and whoot, or do something equally stupid, "But, I think I'm going to gag. Now we'll have to see an awards ceremony. Oh well... At least the galaxy is safe... for the moment... We just pissed the empire off. I bet they are not going to take this lightly. And our hidden base is not hidden anymore, so we're going to have to move again. Better get back to the commander. Dont' want to be late to the ceremony..."

Gendis looked up at the viewscreen, his body trembling in relief and disbelief. He looked at himself. He was alive. he looked around the room. It was still there; it wasn't a mass of dislodged atoms.

He stood slowly, carefully, and tested the ground. Still solid. His somber expression became slightly less so, but he did not feel the surge of joy that he should have. He somehow knew he was feeling the deaths of thousands upon thousands abord the battlestation.

No matter. It was them or him. He somehow wondered if it was better for him to be on the side that had been disintigrated.

Gendis sighed and ran to the hanger. Now came the inevitable "courageous" retreat.

((Fast-Fowarding past the Ceremonies and the such...))

Several Hours had passed, but the ceremony went without a hitch, except for a bit of grumbling from Orrin. The Base had already begun its evacuation, but one would not have known it amiss the cheering and effort the people put forth. Within several hours, Emsquad had met in the briefing room, alongside the now-popular ruby squadron, and orders had gone out to protect the transports. Information to where the next base would be was strictly non-disclosed, due to the Rebel Alliance having no set place to go yet. Their mission would be to protect the convoys, and make sure that they were not harmed. The convoys themsleves would be jumping from planet to planet, searching for a new hidden base to strike from.

Quick enough, the pilots were dismissed, as Orrin headed for the Y-wing designated as Em12. They were to make sure their set was protected, as they jumped, just like every other squadron. But Orrin was not one for moods when it comes to 'babysitting the fleet'.

His attention was jarred, as sirens went off all throughout the temple.

"Imperial forces have begun sending fighters to destroy the transports! Protect at all costs! Ground and air forces have been spotted! Jump with your convoys and rendezvous at the designated place!"

Orrin cursed, rushing towards his Y-wing, and hoping for the best.
