The shadow broke through the pillar without slowing down, trampling through a few trees before coming to a stop and turning around. If stormed towards Alanna, and then shot up one of the pillars. Holding onto the pillar with three of it's legs, it held out one hand, which suddenly grew claws. The shadow then took a swing at Alanna, cutting a stone from the pillar clean in half.

Alanna jumped away again, hiding behind a pillar. This thing was crazy. She needed to catch it. She reached into her pockets and pulled out a small bell, raising it high and chanting a small incantation, before tapping it. A soft, almost inaudible ring came from the bell. The forest once more became silent, even the trees leaves did not rustle. She peered around the corner to look at the beast, the bell should have slowed down time, along with the creature.

As Alanna turned around the corner, she would see the shadow stuck, mid-lunge, with it's mouth open right in front of her. But for now the shadow was moving too slowly to be any danger, at least for now.

She gave a small sigh of relief while getting a good glimpse into the creatures mouth. Besides how the mouth was formed and the razor sharp incisors that pretruded from the dark hide, there was nothing else to be seen inside. Sort of like a bottomless pitt. She quickly moved to its side, fitting the collar around its neck. Nothing happened. Time was stopped maybe she needed to start it again. Actually, it would start on its own soon. With a quick hop she moved far away from the creature, finding refuge in the forest that surrounded the small outcropping. Time began to move again, slowly everything coming back into animation. While she waited and watched.

As time returned to it's normal speed, the shadow shook the broken collar off, confused as to where it's prey had moved off to. The shadow started pace the area, slowly drawing closer to the location where the ring had fallen. As he got closer, the ring began to expand in size. Suddenly, it expanded just enough to fit the shadows foot in. The shadow stepped in. Instantly, symbols flared and the ring constricted, cutting into the shadows wrist. The shadow rolled over, writhing and screaming, clawing at the band. The shadows hand began to flicker into different shapes, until the shadow tore it off. The lost hand dissappeared, and a new one began to grow in it's place. The ring fell to the ground, rolling and shrinking in size, the shadow glaring at it with hate.

Her intrest perked up as she watched. So.. the collar wasn't the only thing that contricted the beast. She stood up and whistled from her spot, yelling at the monster that paced below. She needed to get that ring. "Hey! Beast... like... monster? Over here!", she hollared dropping down from the tree, and standing readily below.

The shadow spun to see Alanna, and charged immediately. This chase was beginning to annoy it, and when it couldn't win in a certain situation, it's body could rapidly adapt to better fight an opponent. As it charged forward, the shadow began to stretch and elongate, increasing it's speed slightly.

"Crap..", she gritted her teeth and resorted to a time old method, of bull and matador. She stood there waiting as it charged forward. Just as soon as it was on her she jumped up and over its head, hoping it wouldn't turn around yet so quickly. She dropped down and grabbed the ring, rolling over and running forward still, through the forrest.

The creature turned, skidding it's back claws against the stone floor. It barreled after the Alanna, it's neck stretching forward, almost close enough to bite her in half. The trees proved to be no problem, for it could alter it's shape to dodge the branches with incredible speed.

"This is ridiculous!", it was starting to annoy her how the creature was able to adapt to its surroundings. With a strong leg she kicked its lower jaw up, closing the mouth and jerking its head away. She rushed forward and jumped ontop of its back, using a dagger to dig into its back to hold onto the smooth surface. She was really trying to avoid hurting it, but it apparently was not going to do the same. Once more the dark mist surrounded her hands and she pressed one down onto its back. The shadows creeped along to the head and wrapped themselves, like chains to close the mouth. Still it was hard to concentrate while being thrown around atop the beast/

The shadow laughed, a horrible sound cracking out through the forest. Suddenly, it's form exploded into a darkness that completely surrounded Alanna, throwing her around inside the darkness. As this happened, the ring in Alanna's hand started to grow in size, until it was roughly the size of a hola hoop. Then, it reformed in a sitting position, holding her upside down by the leg, grinning at her, anticipating the life that it would soon extinguish.

Her vision went black soon to come back to see the world upside down and the creature snickering in her face. She went to move when she realized she was trapped by her foot. By it. She frowned starring at the creature.. she didn't expect that to happen. What a waste of time that plan was. Though, her arms dangled above her head, she noticed the weight in one hand had grown, the ring had grown in size. How strange this ring was.. if only she could get it on the beast now. She swung there, clentching the metallic ring and raised it up to her torso. "Lovely.. night.. isn't it?", she made a small joke, even if the thing could understand or not. She was starting to regrett taking the damned ring off Senstrens collar. She would have rather beat his brother into the ground. Last time she listens to barely mouthed words.

The shadow merely turned its head sideways, neither understanding nor caring what Alanna had to say. It's mouth opened, and it moved to bite her in half at the stomach region.

Alanna raised that ring and thwacked the creature clean in the head. Knocking his large head away from her waist. As it swung its head back around, she slipped the ring over the great head, acting like a muzzle. The ring expanded upon contact and small electrive waves scurried over the metal.

The shadow froze for a moment, realizing it's mistake. It dropped Alanna immediately, and reached for the ring to try and throw it off but was too late. Instantly, the ring constricted, cutting deep into the shadowy flesh of the creature. The shadow writhed in pain, screaming, as it slowly shrank in size, regaining human form. For a brief second, the shadowy form flickered to show what looked like Senstren in a white robe with flaming red eyes trying to claw at the ring. Then it flickered back to shadow, and continued to shrink. Suddenly, the screaming stopped. Standing in the place of the monster was a small, perfectly white cat with a blue collar. It glanced around, looking at it's surroundings without giving much thought towards them, yawned, curled up in a ball, and went to sleep.
