Name:Anna-Mia Level:1 HP:20/20 Gloom Rabbit HP: 10/10 Anna-Mia had begun wandering the Gloomwood, and she had come across a Rabbit. She tried to contain her glee as it tenderly nibbled the grass. She pulled out a piece of bait as it saw her and she tossed at the very dodgy bunny rabbit. This was the part of the friendship process that was different from where she came from. There, the process was a little more intimate than it was here, with long bouts of conversation and repeated visits. From Rota's accounts, all you had to do was peg them at any point on their body with a piece of bait and you had made progress. In any case, she was going to befriend this bunny here by whatever means this tower decided was necessary. Current skills in use: Beastmaster +3*1.5 current equipment:

Cthaer sprang from the bushes, arching his back as he raised Illfang, his body seeming to materialize from shadow as he moved into the light. He imagined an eagle crying in the background as he soared. The spider looked up at him as it responded to the noise, but it never had a chance to move out of the way.Instinctively, it bared its fangs, but Cthaer crashed down into it, the entirety of his body weight coming down through Illfang's blade. The spider crashed into the earth, and was finished. Cthaer grinned, baring his shark-like teeth, and slipping his legendary dagger back into his sash. Moving on, he slipped back into the shadows to approach another spider, his skin distorting and becoming one with the darkness.

Cthaer slid into the shadows more naturally than before, but he wasn't quite as concealed as he had hoped. It was more luck than skill that kept the spider from spotting him at this point. That's alright. He could live with having luck on his side. His eyes dimmed and graduated to their purple color as he examined his next target. He zoomed in and examined every inch of the creature, aiming to find a single point that he might be able to bury a dagger in. At any rate, he was getting better at all of this. Every skill needed work to improve, and Cthaer could afford to take his time developing these skills. He wanted to the the best at his craft.

Cthaer spotted his target. A small flaw in the spider's carapace, on the side of its abdomen. Cthaer drew his blade and held it, point forward, in a reverse grip, holding his hand near his chest, so he could put his weight behind the attack. The spider stopped walking for a moment, and it was facing Cthaer as it inspected something. Without warning, the shade rushed the creature, his blade glinting in the light. He sought to plunge his dagger in the spider's side and carry that force forward, past the spider, slashing it open down the length of its body. With any luck, he'd hit that spot and lay the creature open, killing it immediately.

Cthaer streaked past the spider like a true shadow, silent as a whisper. His blade bit through the creature's carapace like a hot knife through butter, but with infinitely more pleasure. There was nothing like the feeling of a knife cutting through an enemy. The tactile feeling of it was incredible. But, as his heart fluttered, he knew that all of the planning and care that went into the actual act of the kill that made it all worth it. He wasn't just killing an opponent, he was assassinating them. He was carefully poring over the details of the act that was the end of his target, and that made all of this truly enjoyable. He'd killed three of his target ten, and then he would have the materials he needed to practice the things that would expand his bag of tricks. Disappearing back in the brush, Cthaer moved into position for his next strike.

Cthaer vanished completely, his body becoming a part of the shadows from which he had been born. The only thing visible as he melded with the darkness was the sharp yellow glow of his eyes, which faded away to be replaced by a soft glint of purple: his eyes scouring the nearest spider. He had a quota to meet, and he had a production queue to fill. Without those fangs, he wasn't going to be able to make any poisons, and he wanted to have options if his blade was somehow ever not capable of dealing with what he had to fight. Besides, one could never be too sure that their target was dead. He'd done a lot of nickle and dime jobs in his past, but he was ready to move up. He'd made a few connections, and as long as he could finish the job, he'd be able to start taking jobs of a higher caliber. With this knife, and with the skills he was going to begin honing, he would become a master assassin; an untouchable shadow. This mission for the encampment's mothers was his first real job to kill for money, and it was not going to be his last. He'd use his mind, and his patience, to become a legend. It all started here.

The weakness was in something of an obvious spot, this time. The best target was right in the center of the spider's head. Chtaer drew a slow, shallow breath and steadied himself for the action to come. He mapped out his approach before he made ready to move. Every step had to be planned and studied, lest he make some sort of rookie mistake. He could imagine someone charging a monster and tripping halfway across the clearing. Using your sneak attack to headbutt the dirt is probably not the best use of the skill. So he would watch his footing, and plot out the best path that he could. That said, there was a patch of rough ground between him and this spider... He groaned inwardly. He'd make too much noise going across that terrain; he'd ruin his surprise advantage. So what was he going to do? There wasn't any real way to go. If he tried to skirt the terrain, he'd be out in the open too long. He looked around. There wasn't much, except for a tree on this side of the... Cthaer's eyes narrowed. He had a straight shot at that tree, but not at the spider. He grinned, his razor sharp smile spreading slowly. All at once, he glided out of hiding, his flesh still colored like a shadow given form, rays of light passing through his wispy form as he raced across the earth. As he reached the tree, Cthaer put his front foot forward on the trunk and shifted his momentum upward, taking several steps straight up before pushing away from the tree, twisting in the air to face his opponent. His body re-solidified as he flew, and Illfang flashed darkly in the light. He gripped the hilt with both hands and drove the point of the blade toward his target.

Cthaer soared and came down on the spider as he fully re-materialized. Illfang pierced the creature's head as easily as if it wasn't even there, and Cthaer rode the spider's corpse to the ground before it shattered. He grinned, flashing his teeth. He was going to have fun with all this. He decided to take a break for a second, and look over the loot that he had received. With any luck at all, he'd have a couple of alchemy reagents by now, and he could start experimenting with his new toys. If he was going to become a master alchemist, he was going to need to practice, and then he'd be able to feed that experience into his further work.

Cthaer was almost ready to check his loot when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. One of the spiders was beginning to pull itself together. Well, that was just fine. The shade flipped Illfang into a reverse grip and bent his knees to lower himself to the ground. He needed to finish Bob and Weave anyway, so he'd take this opportunity to exercise his combat abilities without the benefit of his stealth. He did decide, though, to his opponent, just so that he might have an additional edge. Besides, he needed to familiarize himself with using the skill in combat, since he would not always have the opportunity to hide from his enemy.

Cthaer's eyes narrowed and tinted purple as he watched the augmented spider's movements. It was a typical super-spider. Bigger and meaner than a regular spider, and this one had been sliced open down one side, leaving a horrible, gaping wound in the carapace. Despite being an apparently obvious weak spot, it was not the point that Cthaer was aiming for. He was aiming for a spot that seemed to be a relatively safe target on spiders: just behind the head. It would take some finagling, but he was sure he could hit it, if he played his cards right. The wound in the spider's side had been patched up well enough that it was no longer the most viable target, but that didn't mean that it was going to be easy to hit the new target either. Regardless, Cthaer kept himself light on his feet, and darted into motion.

Cthaer ran forward and leaped over the spider, twisting and flipping past the creature, ending up upside-down over the augmented arachnid. He slashed downward at the targeted weakpoint, dealing a fair amount of damage, but not enough to put it down. It lost almost half of its health, and it was sporting a brand new orifice in the back of its 'neck', but it was not ready to give up the ghost, as it were. Cthaer landed on the other side of the spider, a small red mark on his left leg, where the creature had managed to nick him with its fang as he traveled over it. It was no great inconvenience, though, and Cthaer's immunity to poison served him well, preventing him from suffering too badly for his clumsiness. He decided to finish off Bob and Weave, readying his dagger in a reverse grip and holding it in front of himself to provide some level of protection.

Cthaer watched the giant spider carefully, every movement that it made hinted at by his understanding of his target. It was like there was a subtle sort of image telegraphing its motions as it attacked. Cthaer slashed at its fangs and hopped back as it tried to strike him, putting an end to that particular maneuver. The spider was successfully parried, so Cthaer was free to go back on the offensive, and so he would. He kept Illfang in a reverse grip and kept his body low to the ground, waiting for the opportune moment and darting forward, making a small hop just a few feet away from his target, hoping to place his feet on the back of its thorax, and drive the point of his dagger into its abdomen.

Cthaer landed on the spider's back and drove Illfang home, red cracks slowly spreading across the spider's carapace before it exploded into a shower of light and Cthaer fell through to the ground, landing with all the sound of a shadow as the remains of his target dissipated on the wind. The shade grinned and his yellow eyes glinted softly as he surveyed the clearing. It seemed like he had a bit of free time. He began to walk back toward the encampment to take a bit of a breather. Murdering things was his favorite pastime, but it wasn't all that there was to the world.

He'd kept these weapons hidden in the back of his inventory for a long time: he just hadn't needed them. Every now and then, though, he liked to come out and really cut loose. Looking around, he grinned. This might be enough to have some fun. Standing at the mouth of the Gloomweave Cavern, Alyx let loose a roar, every spider in the area turning to look at him. "The true King calls for the fallen king's children! Come, fall upon my blade!" He wrapped his fist around the legendary blade Gloomfang, the legs of the spider in its hilt embracing his gauntlet.
