xTeam Alpha Floating Above NYC... Sorta
                                                    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Eden was quick to snatch up Bella as a partner for the exercise, ecstatic to spend some time with the siren. As they disappeared into an alleyway, Raine caught up to them and asked if she could tag along. The outgoing brunette happily nodded in the firefly’s direction. ”Of course not!” she welcomed the girl to join them. She hadn’t had a chance to get to know her yet, but now was as good a time as any to start. ”It never hurts to have a little livewire on the team. Electricity, right?” She didn’t know all of her teammates’ abilities, but that one she had remembered only after a brief mention by Thomas. Maybe it stuck in her mind because electricity made her think of lightning, and she was a little afraid of lightning...

A sweet smile met the Bella and Raine after suggesting they tear the Omegas apart. Eden was happy to make them smile, as serious as her suggestion had been. The red team’s reputation made little difference to the brunette. She just wanted to win. If that meant they had to stomp the big bads, she would do whatever she could to help.

Lachlan joined them on the roof while Bella was scanning the city and relaying information to the rest of the team. When she blurted out that someone had vowed to kill her, the cheerful girl’s face twisted into a look of disbelief, unsure why anyone would ever want to kill Bella, of all people. She asked why, as if the Siren could read minds, but she seemed to think they weren’t really serious. That actually made more sense, especially if the Omegas were as bad as everyone said. She’d yet to really meet any of them so she couldn’t judge very well.

”Oh no,” The cheerful girl was quick to assure. ”I can’t let that happen. You’re face is too pretty, it’d be such a shame if someone messed it up even just a little.” she gave the songstress a warm smile and a playful wink and nodded in agreement when Lachlan said that they would have her back. He also invited a newer Alpha to team up with them. Eden didn’t know anything about the guy, but she always looked forward to meeting new people and getting to know them. She was nothing, if not friendly and welcoming.

The building next to them crumbling to the ground drew all of their attentions. Bella had warned that two Omegas had been coming and Eden had already been on the lookout for them. It wasn’t hard to spot them though. Not after they’d made such a big commotion. It was just after Bella had warned all Alphas to get away from the buildings in their area. When she did find the culprits, she started spamming shots at them in the spirit of the exercise, with Lachlan tried to provide cover fire from the roof.

It looked like she may have hit one of them, but then one of the Omega’s she was firing at suddenly launched herself into the air and came down to rock and start to crumble the building that her friends were standing on. The bubbly brunette was safely floating in the air, but Bella and the others couldn't fly. She could grab one of them and carry them down to the ground safely, but there was no way she could help all three of them. And there were still two Omegas to worry about. One had lept over a building, the other was still on the ground where she had been firing.

She tried to spot him again, but eyes turned to the sound of Raine’s screaming, just as a shot hit her and dinged her health bar. Before she could turn back to face her red suited attacker, however, Raine had lept from the building and grabbed her by the legs. It caused her to plummet several feet with a surprised ”Eep!” before she could adjust for the weight. Even still, she couldn’t stop their descent completely, but she could get them safely to the ground.

”I have you, Glitter. Just hold on tight.” she assured the hysterical girl, reaching down with her free hand to pat her teammate’s head tenderly. It would leave them easy targets, but what else were they supposed to do? Eden tried to keep an eye out for any trouble, but the lower they floated, the more she felt at a disadvantage. She was used to being high in the sky, above everyone’s heads, so being surrounded by tall buildings that she couldn’t see over was unsettling to the flyer.

The electricity user’s feet would gently touch the ground, leaving the two girls in the debris of the fallen buildings. Eden hovered mere inches above the ground, her goggles protecting her eyes from the dust and dirt that had been disturbed in the collapse. She searched for her other friends, and the two Omegas that she had attacked, with her laser tag gun gripped tightly.

”See? Safe and sound.” she chimed cheerily, turning a sweet smile to the other Alpha. It was hard to see much through the dust from the collapse, but her ears gave away the direction Bella was in. ”Oh! Hurry, this way!” she waved for Raine to follow as she started floating toward the songstress. The two Omegas were both gone when they reached the Alphas’ team leader, and the super strengthed farm boy who wasn’t far from her. ”Are you okay?” she asked instinctively, checking over both of them before turning to examine the area.

”Uhhh… did we win?” she asked in disbelief. She didn’t see the two in the area, with Bella still standing, but it seemed like they should have put up more of a fight… ”Or should we scout around to finish them off?”

Carefully, she ascended into the air to get a better look around, before anyone could answer either way. The Omegas couldn’t have gotten too far. And what if they were just lying in wait for them to drop their guard, lulling them into a false sense of security so they could take them by surprise. But how feasible was that with Bella’s hearing anyway? Maybe it was redundant for her to even look, but she still felt less vulnerable in the air, and it put her own mind at ease...

                                                    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

I feel the need to clarify everything I say when men are involved, peaches. It gets me into less trouble that way. And your reputation precedes you, so it’s extra important to do so - flirty comments or not.

Oh why couldn’t he ever just let things go? She made certain to point out that he made the insinuation in the first place, but he decided to get into semantics instead of simply moving on. “You word things so specifically to be a double-edged sword, Felix. I don’t have time to argue definitions here, because if I had admitted to ‘observing’ you,” She made air quotes with her fingers to indicate how inane this conversation was becoming. “Which, for the record… I haven’t, you still would have made it about me checking you out.” She did c**k an eyebrow at the sex-deprived thing, throwing a hand on her hip. “And who said I’m sex-deprived? That indicates I have interest in having sex, and none of you boys here really get my gears going.

They made it to the simulation room just as the rules were being explained, and Gracie maneuvered through the team to get to the one person who mattered: Daylia. She made a small note that they couldn’t pick on their favorite Alphas, and the phaser echoed her sentiments. “Wonder where they went.” She whispered. “They better not be gone for good. Who will make us dinner then?” She posed the question, and her stomach grumbled, as if sitting in a protest of its own making.

Gracie hurled another remark toward Felix, and she grinned when Daylia accused her of flirting. “If he even counts.” She said with a shrug. “I’m pretty sure he doesn’t discriminate as long as the person in question is a woman and is still breathing.” Looking back over her shoulder, she seemed to contemplate what she said. “Though I can’t be sure the latter is actually a necessity for him.

"Good luck with him." She issued to Charlotte. "He seems to be a little wired today."

Narcissa had given them babysitting detail, and it took little time for the Georgia-native to see it as a slight against herself. “I wouldn’t trust me, D.” She reiterated, really wishing to drive the point home. “You never know if Bruce will find me… and I know I’m not strong enough to fight back yet. Trusting me implicitly on the field could get you hurt. Or worse. Besides, I seriously doubt Narcissa cared at all that you punched Dimitri.” Most probably, the tiny blond had found it entertaining.

They started after their charge, but when they didn’t see him after walking a block, Gracie tried the comm network, asking for his whereabouts. Just as soon as she’d addressed the newb, she switched directly to Narcissa’s line to ask for the kid’s name, because she had apparently missed it. But before their team lead could answer, someone else made an announcement.

Blake and Alice announced they were taking down the city, and Daylia's concern gave her cause for a shrug. “Practical? Probably not. But I can’t say my power wouldn’t do the same thing on accident…

Her best friend lamented on her power, and Gracie shook her head. “He can’t sneak around at all. Hence all the noise that won’t help us in a real life situation like the one at the mall. Plus, who knows what your mutation will allow with more time? I’d take a stealthier teammate over an explosive one every time. Kitty is obviously my favorite senior X-woman.

The buildings crumbled down in a deafening amount of noise, and Gracie covered her ears to prevent a headache. “Jesus, Joseph and Mary.” She muttered, shaking her head. But at least it came with a tidbit of information; after you hit so many civvies, you wouldn’t continue to sustain damage.”If we get in a spot where we need civs killed then, we know who to page.

Eventually they caught up to their charge, and a friendly, southern-hospitality smile broadened her lips. “You’re fine.” She assured him when he apologized for not meeting up with them right away. Tilting her head, she took a few moments to assess him after he introduced himself and asked if the potentially handsome bit still applied.“So no longer ‘potentially’ handsome.” Exchanging a glance with Daylia she bobbed her head once, the barest hint of amusement tugging at the corners of her lips. “I think we can just shorten it to something a little more fun next time.

I’m Jinx and this is Chameleon. Gracie and Daylia off the field, respectively.” For the time being, that’s all he really needed to know -especially with fog suddenly appearing at their knees.

When did we get a smokescreen on the teams?” Gracie asked, hazel eyes bright with the question. “Chameleon… get ready to make this one invisible.” She said, staring down at her fingers. Now was as good a time as any to start pointing at things.

Just as she did, bright rays of what could have been mistaken as sunshine shot from her fingertips, and she nodded appreciatively. “Well.. that wasn’t what I expected. But apparently my hexes are going to light the way.” Grinning back at the pair, she shrugged. “Pun intended.

Though… wind might have been a little more useful. Blow this stuff away.” Glaring down at her hand, she tried again. Immediately the light disappeared, and fire blazed on the asphalt, burning through the low-hanging clouds. “Now… let’s find some people to target, shall we?

Looking from the girls back to the rising fog from below MJ's eyebrows rose questioningly, "Dat's not abnormal at all...either if ya ever seen Stephen King's horror movie called da Mist? It didn't end well." he stated casually.

August had been pretty impressed with himself, and with Marcel. It worked. Though, he could feel a lightness to their own step, which would help keep them quiet. But, if Marcel pushed off the ground hard enough, he could start floating away. Gravity was funny like that. And, he would have to be careful with his powers to keep the fog at the right spot above the ground. He would need to use gravity bubbles around people or certain areas to keep the fog floating just right and not totally destroy the plan Marcel busted his a** to achieve.

When they both heard the sound of a crash and what was probably a building collapsing, Marcel made a comment about it.
“Sure glad we didn’t get an invitation. I don’t wanna have a building to get dropped on me.” He could make a lot of stuff float, but an entire building? There was no way. It was too much weight, too much force. They would both probably get crushed under the weight of it, no matter how hard he tried to stop the rubble from totally annihilating them.

He moved with Marcel, especially when the man motioned to move at the approach of two of the simulated soldiers appearing like shadows in the mist. August moved silently behind the car, crouching down and waiting for the signal. He nodded to Marcel when the other man selected which one he would be targeting before he made his attack. It was impressive, seeing the water ball disappear under his control in the mist, and taking out the soldier. August waited for a breath longer before gravity intensified like a bubble around his target, making him float quickly upward.

The simulated soldier made a sound of surprise as he rotated around in the air uncontrollably before a single shot to the head silenced him. Normal version of gravity returned, allowing the fog to float a little more easily around them, pixels raining back down to the ground and disappearing. And it wasn’t long after they started moving forward again that the sound of a familiar, but frightening voice came to their ears through the fog.

“Are there even enemy lines?” August whispered to the hydrokinetic. Though, he doubted that was the point. They dropped down into hiding as another car exploded, sending the shrill sounds of an alarm into the air before the horn was burned up under the hood and the sound died out like a drowned cat.

Marcel voiced their plan quickly, and August nodded as the illusion of the pair of them formed.
“Good, 'cause I was gonna call dibs on the cute one. If I can get tall, dark, and handsome away from his girlfriend, I can have some real fun.” There was no way gravity was going to win out against the sun goddess. And he didn’t really want to lose by feeling those flames.

The mirror was incredible really. August had peered out from around their hiding spot. Waiting for his moment to strike. When Marcel raised his own gun, along with his reflected version, August took off. His feet were silent in the lower gravity as he ran at Aren. When he was about ten feet away from the Native’s rear flank he dove at him, gravity lowering to allow his flight to be seamless, and tackling the man through the open window of the building.

Once inside, the control August had was much easier. He pushed himself up onto his hands and knees, looking at Aren with a big grin on his face.
“Been wantin' to get you alone for a while, darlin'.” And with that, gravity reversed, bringing them to the ceiling quickly. August was used to the feeling, so he twisted himself around like a cat and landed on his feet. The moment he was stable, he rushed Aren, firing shots at the Native.

'Cause finding what you got sometimes
                                                                            xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
                                                                            means finding it alone

S**T!Collin mouthed the words as she saw the situation she had just dropped into alongside her teammate. Before were two Omegas, health bars full and weapons ready. She felt herself going numb, what should she do? How could she get Alex and herself out of this? Her eyes didn’t leave the opposition but a tug on her arms got her legs moving- it was Alex pulling her and shooting at them in frenzy. Collin attempted to compose herself, tripping every few seconds in the process, for if she didn’t- they were probably screwed. Alex was getting a flurry of shots out; she even saw the male run with his teammate for cover. She gritted her teeth and turned on her headset, she felt shameful for sitting there like a wide eyed idiot while Alex did everything. It was good her powers let her lash out- literally. After pressing her headset to the “on” option she switched the noise to what was labeled as “Track 12”, obscenely loud heavy metals screaming. Collin spun her arms and whipped the plasma in her hands out as a projectile, taking a sloppy hoop shape. She continued to run backwards with Alex and take shelter while scowling and signing, “TAKE THAT!”

The vigor was shortlived as her hoop crashed and splat onto the trash can that shot forward. She gulped and felt like she was going to freeze again. The guy was changing into something. She couldn’t tell from the distance but with a growl catch her ears from the heavy metal she felt like falling back and playing dead. ’A wolf!? A WEREWOLF?! S**T S**T S**T’ she looked at Alex and attempted to write out a message on her phone “RUN-” She didn’t get much chance to type as they watched the hulking wolfman pick up the trash can like it was made of air over his head. His howling sent a chill up her spine and her hands dropped her phone and gripped Alex’s arms tight. She never thought she would see an actual werewolf here! She had grown up on folktales and horror movies to fuel her imagery of this creature, but he looked far more frightening than she had imagined (though her image was based on the ’41 wolfman so anything different would really change her view…) With that howl the wolfman sent the trash hurdling towards them. Collins legs shook about to buckle but in order to avoid becoming a human pancake she pushed Alex out of the way and slung her plasma elsewhere to pull herself out of the way, her legs unwilling to move on their own. The plasma dissipated and she laid face down on the projected asphalt. She felt too afraid to look up. Her eyes shut tight, then she felt something around her waist. She reached for what it was but felt rushed into the air as the wolf man held her up and then a tight hold of her waist. She forgot about playing dead and struggled to get free from his grip. Her physical strength was like a stick going up against the stone that his was made of right now. She hadn’t noticed he started to move down yet another alleyway. He lowered her down enough to snarl in her face, sending all the color out of her cheeks, and he released her in a fling. She silently gasped and struggled to get what little plasma she could and make a shield before hitting the glass and rolling into the building. She groaned, ‘Ugh…’ The dazed mute started to make signs of standing without notice to the holo-soldier coming at her. She saw the new enemy but realized she had no gun to shoot any longer. She jumped out of the way and witnessed the wolfman take it down no problem. She knew the Omegas would be a tough bunch to deal with, but she had no idea that they had a wolf on their side. She scowled at him and signed, knowing he probably wouldn’t know what it meant and began with a thumbs down, ”It’s rude to snarl in a girl’s face!” She was scared out of her mind being cornered by such a mutant, but she almost let Alex get crushed by that container earlier and got them face to face with the Omegas. So much went wrong and she it was herself to blame. Now they were separated and a werewolf was standing in her way of helping her teammate. She stood and reached for the music player on her hip- she had no gun but she had her own arsenal for a time. She had trouble making that shield earlier she wasn’t keeping count of just many times she used her plasma today. Her legs staggered back in sync with the wolf’s movements towards her it was like he was toying with her like a beast hunting prey. Her breathing dropped and she almost choked on shock as his fingers moved in sign, and it wasn’t a pleasant message either.

The threats and absurd show of strength was an obvious tactic to get past her guard and hated how much it was working it. She held her headset and gulped while the plasma oozed from her palms. She squished both hands together and fiddled with it like silly puddy, waiting for the wolf to make his move and waiting for her move to get the big fluff ball stuck in a sound net. Wasn’t sure if it was intense fear or fear induced confidence but she signed to the wolfman with a goop covered hand,
“You look like my basset hound” ….she still needed work on smack talk…

There was another growl, but Collin was unfortunate to notice that it did not come from wolf boy, but it was close. She shakily turned her head and terror struck her across the face. Jaw dropping and eyes following a white tiger- AN ACTUAL TIGER GOING AGAINST A WEREWOLF!
'NOPE! NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY-' She quickly developed a plasma shield and backed away from the cat and dog fight that, by the obvious growls, was about to go down. Collin could figure that the big cat was a teammate, right now she was just a really big cat about to go against a really big dog....maybe she won't write about this back home...

It’s different.” The telekinetic whispered to her best friend. “For all the violence and horror you’ve experienced, you’ve never claimed to be anything more.” Leo had. And God, she had believed that face of his, his voice… she had believed he was a friend. “You keep telling me you’re a monster; he has only ever pretended to be a friend.

Sighing, she pushed a hand through her blond tresses and shook her head, wishing that Katerina could see her as she did. “We can get into the lecture on not killing your team lead later.” She said with a small smile. “No matter how much she annoys you, it’s not allowed.

That was the difference between her and Leo. Leo did know better. He knew, and pretended to live by Xavier’s example; everyone deserved a second chance. He knew not to use excessive force, knew not to end a life.

And yet he tried. And Aurie would never forgive him for being the wolf in sheep’s clothing.

                                      Time Skip

As much as the would-be ballerina desired to skip out on being a part of the team in exchange for hot cocoa and cliched sitcoms, Aurelie knew they couldn’t get out of it. In exchange for Katerina’s freedom, she had promised that she would keep the shape shifter from getting out of hand again.

At least for a little while, neither one of them had any leeway to put a toe out of line. “Oh, Felix isn’t worth your time, dear. All of his innuendos never lead anywhere.” For a do-or-die woman like Kat, the chase that only went around in circles would bore her.

They tested out her shields to see if the lasers would penetrate through, and Aurelie’s mouth fell into a pout. “I guess that’s what she meant by muted powers. No way something like this would happen out on the field.” Then again, she wouldn’t be willing to test that concept with real ammunition either. Nodding along with Kat saying not to pin anything down too quickly, she followed in step. “I mean, if anyone gives us too much trouble, I guess I can just toss them out of range.

Buildings started crashing behind them, and Aurie glanced back. “Does anyone need assistance getting from higher ground?” She asked hoping it wasn’t too late. “How much can the sim mute from being under a falling building?

Before she could really think of an answer, an ear-piercing howl sounded a little too close for comfort. She floated down behind Katerina, and came to the same realization that her bestie did; in order to save their teammates, they couldn’t stand together. ”No different than the field so far.” The telekinetic muttered, noting how often Bella kept Kat separate from her when they really went out.

I’ll cover you from Blowhorn over there if you focus on Wolfie.

Kat shifted into a tiger, and Aurie’s fingers found her fur before she parted ways. Siege asked for her opinion on what to do from here, and Aurie was taken aback. No one ever gave her options on the field…. mostly because they still treated her as though she were made of paper. It warmed her a little to know that Gabe might not have the same impression. Not that she deserved it, given how often she got hurt… but it was nice all the same.

We need to get those two out of there.” She said, motioning toward the girl that Christian had tossed as easily as a frisbee. “She’s serving as a distraction for the Omega’s new pet; so we take on the world’s biggest windbag so that they can escape.

Switching her comm to Alexandra and Collin’s line, she kept her eyes on Gabe to watch for any indication that he didn’t like her idea. “Listen, we gotta move quick, the Omega’s are bringing down buildings so you don’t want to be caught in one, but open field is a disaster with Windpipes, find something to dodge behind. Siege and I will cover your backs.

Stopping the transmission, she tilted her head and grinned at her teammate. “So, ready to be potentially blown away?” Seconds later, she chuckled and added. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you fly.

Oh contraire.” Aren said, shoveling a second taco in his mouth. “I’m pretty sure that Taco Bell has a chihuahua as its mascot.

She made the mistake of mentioning leather and he stopped eating so that he could look her squarely in the eye. “Nonsense. You don’t chew leather. You peel it off.” He let that sink in for a few seconds before returning to his food, as if he hadn’t just dropped an octave over lunch.

Narcissa called him a heathen and he chuckled. “I think the correct term is ‘Savage’ by you pale faces.

He addressed the irritation that had thrummed between them earlier, being nonchalant as he finished up his lunch. Gabe’s idea gave him cause to snicker - not because it didn’t have merit, but because he was crazy enough to approach the Red Queen. But Cissa’s point as to why she would have no part of it made sense. “Hopefully he does.” He said between swallows.

                      TimeSkip.

He feigned innocence like an Oscar winner at the prospect of being the reason certain parameters had to be added to the simulation. “Can’t recall.” He said, shaking his head. “Nope.

He looked around the sim, impressed at how towering the city looked. It was hard to believe it was all just a computer program. But even with it all, and the idea of a game… he’d still rather pull Narcissa to a quiet corner - a fact that he silently let her know. She shot her power in the form of arrows, and he couldn’t stop himself from making a reservation remark. “Being an a** is in my nature.” He cheesed.

They started shooting holograms until some sort of smog started swirling at their feet. “Alphas get a smoke screen recently?” He asked. Maybe he should have started paying attention to who was being promoted - especially if he was actually going to play in the simulations against their rivals. He hadn’t been all that worried until shots were starting to fire. Narcissa ducked, he shrank, making the shot miss his chest but catch his shoulder.

That was unexpected.” He said, shooting after Dimitri’s trail. His steps were in sync with the team lead, his laser gun at the ready as she blasted cars. His eyes were scanning ahead when August came at him from above. He somersaulted from the brunt of the attack, skidding to a stop. August reversed gravity and Aren slammed to the ceiling. Checking his bar, he still had 80% left.

He shrank to the size of an ant to avoid the shots, scurried across the room before re-appearing six times his normal size and throwing a punch, aiming for his jaw. “I never called back.” He said with a grin, shrinking again so as to make a more difficult target. “Because I’m just not interested.” For a second, the size shifter, pretended to feel regret as he found the window and returned to his normal size. He made another shot over his shoulder before jumping down. “Not my type. You understand.

He landed back down at the street level. “Ki’somma?

Training Simulation: Rooftop to the Ground

User ImageDeciding to join up with Bella along with Eden and Raine, as was expected, never brought a dull moment. Although Lachlan wasn't particularly keen on being in the middle of all the action, especially considering his reservations to utilizing his mutation, he had promised he would look after Bella and see to it that no harm came to her. To some this was merely a simulation, to others (not just including himself, it seemed), the simulation was a bit more dire. While Kat would likely have a hard time coming after Bella in a chaotic setting such as this one, it didn't mean she couldn't utilize the chaos to her advantage at any point in time. And while it was merely a simulation, the notion didn't really serve to ease the farm boy a whole hell of a lot.

He would remain vigilant and merely operate defensively, contrary to what he suspected most would use his ability for. Simulation or not, that didn't mean Bella couldn't accidentally overexert herself or be singled out, which they'd already established was likely going to happen based on her muttering aloud about how someone was out to kill her. Regardless of whether the statement was serious or not, the choice of words didn't sit right with the super strong mutant considering the Kat incident and only further cemented him in his decision to assure no harm came to the kind girl he couldn't begin to fathom why people wanted dead.

"I suppose," Lachlan said with a goofy smirk and humble shrug of his shoulders, "you probably do have a target on your head for a lot of them. Bragging rights that they were able to take down the Alpha's notorious Isabella, right? I'm sure there are some bolder Alphas out there gunning for Narcissa as well."

While Lachlan chose to reserve his agreement in regard to Eden's statement pertaining to Bella's face being pretty, he'd definitely be a liar if he said he didn't agree with the bubbly Alpha. For the sake of convenience and not having his words give the wrong impression, however, he felt it was safer and more appropriate to keep things simple by remaining silent on the matter. He'd already internally established he intended on doing the best he could to assure Bella came to no harm and naturally anyone else who happened to accompany them. Again, however, he'd be lying, if he pretended he wasn't biased as far as prioritizing Bella. She'd just gotten out of the infirmary not that long after having been attacked, the last thing she needed to do was push herself too hard in a simulation.

Soon enough, as anticipated, the action decided to come to them, much to Lachlan's personal displeasure. It seemed the particular duo that had come for them both possessed the ability to completely level buildings, something that definitely seemed far more useful in this exercise than his ability, which was generally best utilized in close combat. A small sigh escaped him as he and Raine assisted Eden in attempting to fend off their attackers. They'd given away their position and it was only a matter of time before their foes inevitably decided to bring down the building the small alpha squad had decided to take cover upon.

Despite his aversion to violence and guns unless necessary, he reminded himself this was a simulated training exercise, that no one would be harmed on the level they would be if this was actuality. Of course the point was to assure they treated it as reality, hence why it was training. Despite his hesitance, in the end he chose to commend Eden on her shot that managed to hit one of the Omegas in the building across from them. From his position of cover, he had a better perspective of the exchange, enabling him to witness Eden's shot connect with Alice. "Awesome! You hit one, Vega! Keep it up!"

Of course, as soon as he decided to open his big mouth, the Omega duo across the way reverted to their former tactics, attempting to shift their disadvantage by decimating their advantageous position they held with the higher ground. "Get back!" Lachlan exclaimed generally though more to Raine than anyone as he holstered his laser gun and rolled away from the building's edge in anticipation of Alice's blow to it.

Normally the super strong mutant would have been quicker to recover from his position on the ground but seeing as the entirety of the building was tremoring, it made finding his footing a more tedious task than normal. Once back on his feet, he was quick to suggest the obvious, evacuating the compromised building. Raine's agreement with him was near instant and rather predictably, no one disputed the notion.

One moment Lachlan was gathering his footing, and the next Bella had taken him by the hand and pulled him to the opposite end of the building. His cheeks flared a bright red at the unexpected gesture, though he knew she thought nothing of it and would have done the same had it been anyone else in his position. Despite himself, he still felt self conscious about the ordeal. More importantly, however, was his focus on assuring he didn't accidentally crush her delicate hand that currently gripped his own. Assuring he didn't panic that he was touching someone was the first step to refraining from accidentally hurting someone so he took a deep breath as Bella needlessly asked him to trust her. It was likely she'd merely think he was taking his breath in anticipation of the jump ahead of them but in all honesty, it was entirely about focusing on assuring he didn't harm her in the process of physically holding her hand.

To Lachlan's relief, Bella liberated her hold on his hand before they touched down on the next building over. Lachlan also found himself in a clumsy roll due to the hasty jump they'd made, though being clumsy was far more suited to him than Bella.

Already the flare within his cheeks was dying down as he sobered from the initial awe of having his hand held by Bella. While the subtle high lingered, his mind forced itself to move onto other far more important matters. There was always later to reflect but right now they were on a mission, one he intended not to fail.

His gaze immediately sought Bella out to assure she had emerged unscathed from their jump. "You alright?" He asked as he offered her a hand, all the while fighting the aversion to touching her due to his fear of unintentionally harming her.

Bella was quick to recover and while she had taken it upon herself to assure he made it to the the rooftop they currently settled upon, she informed him she didn't plan to stick around to assure he made his way down.

Before allowing her to go off on her own, however, Lachlan chose to voice his concern with a benign reminder. "Bella," he stated earnestly, steel blue eyes brimming with conviction, "please be careful and don't push yourself too hard."

While Lachlan knew it wasn't his place to order Bella about, he didn't say what he said with the implications of feeling superior to her. Rather, he'd said it with genuine concern out of considering her a friend and knowing she'd been put through the grinder as of late. She wasn't only bearing outward wounds of Kat's attack but likely inward ones due to Leo's abrupt departure as well. Lachlan didn't want to see anyone hurt, but he especially didn't want someone as kind hearted and sweet as Bella hurt more than she already had been.

He lacked the finesse Bella did within her skill set that would enable him to break his fall and merely hover to the ground using his mutation in the way she did; but that wasn't to say he couldn't utilize his own mutation in making his way down. The quickest way to do so would be to blatantly plummet to the ground. While he was certain his body was more than capable of enduring the fall, he felt it was reckless to put strain on his legs in such a manner simply to get there a few seconds faster. Instead, he opted for jumping down a few flights of the fire escape before jumping from the building to make his way to the ground, all the while keeping an eye on Bella's general whereabouts in order to rendezvous with her. Sticking like glue was the goal here.

Once reaching the ground, in the spirit of being the concerned worry wart of an individual he was, Lachlan was quick to pursue Bella while simultaneously raising his comm to page Eden and Raine to assure they were alright. He was also sure to keep a watchful eye on his surroundings, not wanting to accidentally encounter the Omega duo that was after them, be hit by a falling building or run into any other form of ambush for that matter. "Glitter, Vega, you two make it out alright? Let me know if you need me, I'm currently tailing Siren in the unlikely event she needs support."

It didn't take him long to catch up to Bella just in time to witness her unleashing a sonic blast in Blake and Alice's direction. Making sure not to forget himself, Lachlan took up his laser gun yet again and began firing at the duo as Bella unleashed her sonic onslaught in Blake and Alice's direction.

He watched with baited breath as the omega duo was slammed by a dampened version of Bella's formidable mutation. Lachlan and the omegas alike all knew Bella was far too compassionate to strike them with a fully powered ability despite the fact they were in a simulation, even so, he couldn't help but inwardly cringe at the thought of Bella being his adversary on the battlefield. He was well aware there were plenty of omegas with equally daunting abilities: the ability to level buildings was definitely nothing to scoff at. Neither was Bella's ability, though.

Much to his surprise, he witnessed the male of the duo dematerialize to avoid the brunt of Bella's assault as if to remind him of the fact there were omegas with stupefying mutations as well. Unlike her male partner, the female omega was hit by the majority of concussive force from Bella's attack, only having a mere pile of rubble as cover. While Lachlan could have utilized his super strength to possibly deter or even trap the remaining female by utilizing the assortment of debris left availabe to him, he hesitated to do so. Even though it was a simulation, he didn't want to miss and accidentally crush the woman with a concrete slab. The hesitation on Lachlan's part was enough to enable the omega woman to retreat back into the building behind her. <********>" he whispered softly to himself as he mentally beat himself up over letting Alice escape. Had he acted, he could have barred her escape long enough to catch up to her and subdue her. He knew better than to obsess over his choice, however and merely offered a bitter apology, the disappointment clearly directed at himself as opposed to whom he spoke. "Sorry, Bella. If I hadn't hesitated I probably could have trapped her there."

He paused briefly, allowing the chance for his apology to be received before instead turning to Bella for insight. "Do you have a read on where they are? I can pursue if that's a feasible option."

Roland Anton Chevalier
Location: Simulation Room
Thoughts: Oh great, just what I need…

User ImageHe kept himself crouched in cover, preparing himself to be the live bait. The Louisiana brute kept his composure, steeling himself to the potential fighting that would have to occur. They were just simulations, nothing more than digitized facsimiles. Not real in the slightest. He could be as violent as he wanted to be, without a care in the world for any actual consequences. No news reports would be about a butcher in New York, about a bloodthirsty psychopath that terrorized the streets. Least of all there would be no one around to cheer him on as he committed such atrocities. Yet despite all that, he couldn’t shake the old demons from within him.

He heard the cheering in the back of his head, the crowd roaring inside his skull, cruelly demanding the blood that they’d come to see spilt. The worst voice that he heard was that of his foster father, Dom, as he snarled at him. The smell of the god awful cheap bourbon that he swilled around danced in his nostrils as the raspy voice echoed in his brain with a sharp staccato.

Get ‘em good kid. Make ‘em hurt, make ‘em bleed. It’s all you’re good for to me kid, it’s all you’re good for…

He got himself out of his stupor when he realized that he was biting his tongue. He felt the iron taste in his mouth as a bit of blood seeped out. He spat out the blood and saliva that had built up, and took in a deep breath. Roland stood there in cover as he put out another call on his comm-link “Calling to Covet and Anima, this is Paladin. I have targets to bring in, will be doing so in a few seconds.” Great, guess I’m on my own now. he thought to himself, as he prepared to bring himself forth to fight. It was as he rose up, as he drew the attention of the squad in front of him that a new variable had been added to the equation.

The arrival of a second squad, this one equipped with the equivalent of some heavy ordinance. He dashed forth, hoping to take one group down before the other had gotten itself fully prepared, but he had little hope for that. So as he sprinted forth, armor fully encasing him at this point, he ripped off a car door and held it in front of him. The makeshift shield would prove useful for what was to come. Which was to say, a nice dose of violence. He’d been slowed by the removal of the door, even temporarily thrown off balance, but he quickly righted himself as he sprinted now his legs pumping with piston-like efficiency. He could barely feel the lactic acid build up as he pressed forward, pounding the pseudo-pavement beneath him. The first soldier raised his weapon to fire just a little too late as he took the brunt force of some several hundred pounds of steel, flesh, and whatever the hell his armor was made of, hit him at a nice brisk (by his guess) nine mile an hour sprint. Were this a game of football, chances are a crowd of several tens of thousands would be cheering as the force of the hit would echo throughout the stadium. However they were not at a sporting event, and as a result he could not just keep running. With an abrupt stop he shifted his momentum, moving on the ball of his foot as he pivoted to face the rest of them. He pressed on as he brought his last-minute barrier to bear, bringing it up to collide with the face of the holographic soldier.

Checking his surroundings, he saw that the second squad had in fact begun to prepare their weapons. By this point he had maybe a few more seconds before his position was going to be effectively drenched in laser fire. He hoped to delay such by throwing the door in that direction, before sprinting into one of the buildings near him. In his mad dash he was somehow able to get his hands on one of the weapons that had been dropped. He continued to do so, going from building to building that he was now sort of lost. He knew he’d gone a more than just a few blocks, but in his mad dash to not be eliminated he found himself thrown off.

The building he was in was by his guess an old factory room. Large windows let plenty of light in, but cast plenty of shadows around the area, columns jutted out of the ground creating a pleasant somewhat eerie arena of light and shadow.

“Any Omegas near by, this is Paladin. I’m currently on my own, looking to regroup. Ran into a problem with my plan and was forced to improvise. Please advise on where to rendezvous.” He stood there, waiting to hear from one of his teammates. He also prepared himself for any threats that may come his way.

At least with Christian, she would have someone to watch her back. Hopefully, he wouldn’t fall down on the job. Peyton hadn’t teamed up with him before, so she didn’t really know how he handled on the field. Within the first few seconds of hearing him talk, she doubted her would be earning any respect from her today, but if he was lucky he would at least stay off of her s**t list. His ability seemed like something she could admire, being intimidating was always a plus in the small blonde’s eyes. So who knew? Maybe he would surprise her.

She followed the werewolf through the alleyways toward the park. He claimed he needed to settle a score, and she was happy to help if it meant knocking some Alphas around. But a comm message from Blake caused her to pause in irritation, and maybe because she was a little lost on finding much value in his plan. Nobody would ever claim she was afraid to speak her mind...

To be completely honest, she hadn’t expected much of a response. Most people seemed to be too timid to argue with her, or they just knew better than to feed the fire. Her teammate responded about how she could have imagined her would. The Texan alone may have received a more mild response from the blonde whirlwind - what could be considered ‘playful’ by Peyton standards. But as soon as ‘his girl’ cut in to defend his honor, or maybe she was just trying to hop on his d**k. She definitely sounded like the type, blindly following some s**t idea - or was she the ignorant moron that had come up with it?"Oh sorry, did mom give you permission? Then go run along and play, little kiddos. Every steaming word hotter than the last as she spat back at the poor fools who were trying so hard to go toe-to-toe with her, so to speak. Her mouth was a weapon in more ways than one, and she wasn’t one to bite her tongue.

"I don’t really give a <********> what you do - run around acting like you’ve got yourselves a genius plan all you want. I know it’s hard for some people to come up with a good idea, so go ahead and live in fantasy land for a little while to stroke your egos… or each other. They seemed too dull to understand that their entire idea was just a huge fallacy. It sounded like they thought the Alphas had some advantage over the Omegas, but the Omegas could just as easily take high ground for their own advantage. Tearing down buildings took away the Alphas’ advantage, but it took away the Omegas’ advantage too. The only reason that made sense to her was that they were just trying to show off, as children were apt to do.

Still, she was less concerned with all of the moral implications, or even the strategy (or lack thereof) behind it. All that really mattered at the moment was how it might affect her. "Just stay the ******** out of my way. She warned lowly into her comm before signing off. She wasn’t going to keep arguing with a couple of halfwits.

The problem with stupid people was that they never realized how stupid they actually were. It didn’t matter how stupid they made themselves look, or how little sense their reasoning made. They always thought they were winning. Arguing with morons was a waste of time. But that didn’t mean she didn’t like yelling at them from time to time…

She pretended to shoot herself in the head after talking to the ‘special’ Omegas, which drew a chuckle out of her partner. A small smirk crossed her lips in response. At least he wasn’t as hateable as most of the mutants on the two teams. Not so far anyway.

When she caught up with Christian near the opening of the alley, she pressed herself against one of the walls and stayed back away from the opening in hopes it would keep her covered until they had a plan and were ready to make their move. To be honest, she never liked the idea of being the one to initiate, she would have much preferred their opponents to come to them, as opposed to the other way around. Especially when the park seemed so open, and the Alphas that Christian was gunning for had probably hidden themselves away to wait for them.

The werewolf acting as a distraction did make her feel a little better about the whole thing. Hopefully they would be looking at him, and it would allow her to move around more freely. Though it was possible they would be outnumbered, and Christian’s distraction wouldn’t be enough. If that were the case, she could blow the entire park around. Briefly she wondered how much damage a civilian casualty would do to her health bar, as she watched the holo-civs meander around.

He rehashed the plan as they made sure they were on the same page, but a crumbling building cut him short. An irritated smirk crossed her lips. "Well it’s not the worst plan I’ve heard today. she admitted. She wasn’t sure he was much brighter than the two she was alluding to, but hopefully the building that was crashing down would clue him in on the jab. "Sounds good, let’s-

The sound of breaking glass caused her to pause, and drew both of their attentions up to the window above them. It all happened so fast, she barely had time to get out of the way. Even so, the ‘bubble’ knocked her back a couple steps, but she recovered quickly. The grip on her gun tightened as she saw the blue health bars and an intent glare settled on the two girls that had fallen from the building (Alex and Collin). They seemed flustered, scared. One of them(Alex) started firing, but she and Christian took cover from the frantic shots as her partner suggested they take these two out as a warmup. "Agreed. she replied simply. The other (Collin) flung some sort of plasma at them but it fell short… or so it seemed. Peyton knew literally nothing about this girl or her ability.

Her eyes were fixed on the two Alphas as she stepped out and fired a few shots of her own. "You know what they look like, Feral? Her tone was even but nothing short of threatening. "Chew toys… She was pleased with Christian’s choice to transform then and there. She never liked it when anyone got in her way, intentional or otherwise... She wanted them terrified. She wanted them to regret everything that had led them to this moment. She wanted to destroy them.

                                          "Which one do you want?

Peyton smirked when he charged in and flung one of them(Collin) into a building like she was nothing more than a ragdoll. Her gaze turned to the other girl (Alex) so sharply it almost could have sliced her in half. "Then you’re all mine. she warned, tilting her head in a way that would seem almost innocent. Almost…

The Alpha had been trying to get away with her friend. The blonde hurricane surmised that she could outrun the girl. She was pretty athletic, after all. But that didn’t seem like much fun. And seeing that Christian had wanted ‘one-on-ones’ she guessed he had been trying to separate the two by tossing one into a building. She decided that keeping this one away from the building her friend had landed in was her first and foremost mission.

Suddenly, she took in a deep breath and spun around to face her back to the girl. She angled the blast at the ground in a way that would send her flying over the girl’s head. The gymnast in her could control her body enough to backflip through the air and land fairly well on her feet, between the Alpha (Alex) and the building that Christian was fighting her friend (Collin) in. It also put her in a decent position to pin the girl against the wall she had previously been standing in front of.

Another inhale was the precursor to a gust of wind aimed directly at the Alpha, and the wall. It was strong enough to knock her back and pin her to the building if she didn’t find some way to get out of the way. Peyton’s plan was pretty simple - keep her pinned to the wall and unable to move against the strong winds long enough that she would be able to unload and tag her out of the game. This girl didn’t seem like much competition so far. Her gun raised to aim at the girl and she began firing in her direction.

((Let me know if I need to edit. Tried to decipher locations of characters, but was kind of hard for me to do.))

Colin went along with her and started to attack them as well (though unfortunately a bit of a flop of an attack). While it looked like some of her shots hit one of them, it didn’t take long for the two Omegas to come at them. Maybe she could have thought of something quickly if not for the loud howl. The unexpected noise caused her body to stiffen. Her eyes widened at seeing a wolf man in the place of the Omega man (Christian). She believed they were called werewolves? Who knew such a mutation existed? His unexpected transformation shocked her as Colin tried to type up a message.

She could only look over for a moment before seeing the werewolf picking up a dumpster. She would have to act fast not to get hit by the dumpster, let alone let Colin get hit. Before she could make a decision, Colin pushed her out of the way as the dumpster came towards them. “Colin!” She yelled. At least neither of them got hit. Unfortunately, she saw the werewolf grip Colin and fling her into the building nearby. Her eyes widened again while her body trembled a bit. “Colin…” Sure, she knew no one would be actually dying in the simulation. But, seeing someone tossed around like a rag doll was unnerving.

Unfortunately, Alex couldn’t focus on Colin’s situation. Not when the female Omega (Peyton) looked at her like she was already minced meat. She swallowed as she gripped the gun and tried to get some quick shots in to get the woman (Peyton) to back off. Hopefully, she would get the opening to help Colin. The woman (Peyton) though used her power to get between her and the building. Just at the woman landed, she heard someone speaking through the comm. Aurelie by the sounds of it.

It sounded like help was coming. But, she didn’t know when it was going to arrive and when. She hadn’t noticed the arrival of an Alpha entering into the fray Colin found herself in. “Right.” She said quickly before noticing the woman inhaling. Considering what she had seen the woman do earlier, she didn’t dare to stand there any longer. She ran quickly into an alleyway nearby and felt the gust of blow go past the entrance of the alleyway. To think she could have easily been caught up in that caused her to swallow. Hearing the shots though reminded her she couldn’t stay there forever.

Alex peaked around the corner, finding herself getting hit some while firing back at the woman (Peyton). Maybe if that help came soon, she wouldn’t be perma stuck just waiting for her “demise”. Otherwise, she would need to risk being faster than the woman’s winds and run as fast as she could away from the woman. She dared to raise her comm to address Aurelie again.

“I am stuck in an alleyway right now due to Windpipes and Amp is stuck in a building with a werewolf. You and Siege going to be able to keep me from getting blown around?” She asked while once again daring to shoot around the corner again, having to peak her head out again to do so. “Or should I just stay put?” For all she knew, maybe staying in the alleyway would be better than trying to run to the other side of the street or in some other direction.

XX【 】Name: Alexander Magnus
XX【 】Codename: Wraith
XX【 】Team Affiliation: Alpha
XX【 】Location: Training Simulation
XX【 】Actions: Created sphere of shadow to hide, Yanked Landslide into alley, split sphere into three and sent flying, ran through buildings and alleys to escape, ended up at warehouse with Paladin, hid, created shadow up high in a window

Wraith was more than ready to stand shoulder to shoulder and prove his worth- but things didn't seem to want to pan out that way. Just as he knelt beside a female and offered a quip, he chose to show his ability a bit by bolstering her wall just as he hoped to do with her spirit. Almost immediately came shots. It wasn't hard to see where they came from. Unlike bullets, light bolts were very visible. That was the good news. Also was the poor quality of shots. Of the handful launched, only two seemed to make a mark on them. One on each person. From the arc, Wraith was able to look to his left and see the person. Small wonder it was difficult to get an initial bead on them. He was in a sniper-style perch, and these weapons were not made for such long range. Yes, they could hit, but accuracy would be a problem. Still- they were hideously exposed. What was worse, the female's power was some sort of ground manipulation. That was fine. His own was darkness manipulation . . . and bolts of compressed light were precisely what he couldn't stop. His ability to form tangible shadows could not make any form of shield. At least, not against this munition. Time to make adjustments to his plans. "Then again."

Wraith dissolved his shadowed layer to the earthen wall, and dropped a globe of utter darkness over himself. It was intangible, making it far easier to form and manipulate. It was part of a diversionary plan. He could return the way he came easily enough- that would provide a measure of cover. In the meantime, he needed to divert attention. In a single move, he reached out to grab the girl by her clothes, and use his might to yank her back. Hopefully this would surprise her enough to let him all but throw her back into more stable cover in the alley behind them. In the meantime, he heard the chirp signifying another hit. Was it on him, or on her? Hard to tell in this maneuver. Once he knew himself back in the alley, the orb of darkness pulsed with his imagination. It split into three separate orbs, each moving off in a different direction. One went straight out into the street, a second went past the earthen barrier towards the attackers that he knew were pinning her down. The third went in the direction of the sniper at his perch. Such exposed a minor issue though. Without line of sight, they only lasted about two seconds. If he couldn't see the shadows, they dissipated. Without substance, they passed through several minor obstacles like rubble or the corners of walls. He couldn't tell just what he did other than create three decoys that lasted long enough to ask the question 'what is that?' before disappearing.

Painfully aware of the precarious nature of his diversion, Wraith mumbled
"Move. That won't fool em long." before taking off the same direction through buildings he used to get here. The path was still clear enough for him to use what little parkour skills he had developed to move fast. He didn't know where he was heading, but he needed to clear out before the Omegas moved in. He had his own weapon, but one against at least three was not going to do much good when he was unable to defend himself. No- he was an ambush predator at best. With his position exposed, he was too vulnerable. As such, he just kept running. Various comms were going off, but none were desperate. As such, he moved through the simulation with all the speed he could muster until he realized he had gone quite some distance. He might have kept on running except . . . he heard somebody. Wraith had ended up in some sort of warehouse area, decrepit and worn. Within there was one person he could see, and it turned out to be somebody he should target. The other identified himself as 'Paladin' and called out to nearby Omegas.

Wraith narrowed his eyes to get a better look at this guy. He seemed to be flustered, but far from off-balance. This area was suited for Wraith's needs, though. Plenty of light and shadow adding both opportunity and ambiance. A great place for theatrics. Wraith kept to the shadows, hiding himself as well as he could. Without using his shadows, he was able to stay fairly well out of sight. In the meantime, he felt it was time to make his presence known. Up near one of the windows, he created a human-sized shadow. A fully detailed construct would be difficult to maintain. Instead, he created a paper-thin humanoid shape that had no substance. It was just thick enough to block the light just like a solid person would. At distance, and with the backlight of the window, it should be hard to tell the 2-dimensional image. Wraith chose a source of light that would cast a shadow right near Paladin. Lets see just how spooked this guy is.

If Isabella noticed Lachlan’s bashfulness at her nearness no one would know. She was too focused on making sure that none of them got swallowed as the apartment building they were standing on ate itself. Her heart dropped as she pulled herself out of a rolling fall and saw Raine clinging to Eden. She wasn’t truly sure how much weight Eden could handle but she had to hope that they would both make it to the ground safely. There wasn’t much she could do to help without possibly making their eardrums suffer. Lachlan offered her a hand up and she offered a tight smile as she accepted it. She knew how hard it was for him to consciously touch other people. Isabella had faith that he wouldn’t hurt her. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

Lachlan gave her a few parting words. She wasn’t sure whether it was in warning or caution but she listened all the same. “I’ll do my best…No promises.”, she called back to him honestly before using her ability to jettison her body from the rooftop. Raine and Eden were floating/falling at a safe rate and she knew that Lachlan would find his way. As long as her people were out of immediate danger she could focus on the task at hand.

Blake met her gaze and Isabella wasn’t sure what to make of it. He was different. She couldn’t say exactly what it was in the span of thirty seconds but his empty smile assured that he had a strong desire to face anyone but her. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that he would disappear the moment her hands rose. He knew what it looked like when she was going to use her powers. They’d played mutant-ball enough as kids. Alice, it seemed, wasn’t so lucky.

She lost sight of Aftershock after she disappeared behind a pile of rubble. It struck her as odd that the earth mover reacted so strongly to such a low powered attack. Perhaps the simulation didn’t mute damage as much as the parameters had led her to believe. She picked up Blake’s voice when he reformed and his words lingered. Isabella frowned. Did he really think that she was so incredibly self-absorbed? She hadn’t thought his actions personal. He couldn’t have conceivably known that she was standing on the building they brought down. But… They had clearly planned to smoke the Alpha’s out. Blake and Alice knew that it was a possibility, that some of them were in, or on the structures that had collapsed. That was more than enough to earn her displeasure. ‘You might want to turn that advice inward. I never said that it was.’

Keen emerald eyes searched briefly for Aftershock. If Amarillo wanted to leave her behind…So be it. At this point it was a numbers game and she didn’t mind the odds. Fairness was never really a concept that most Omega’s cared to understand. The Alpha’s wouldn’t be able to hold on to the moral high ground and still expect to win. She tensed as she felt another quake ripple through the street. Another building going down. This time, she could still hear Aftershock inside. Her eyes flickered as she listened carefully to try and piece the situation together before moving in. Dust and smoke made it hard to breathe while mist impaired their vision.

                                                  “We didn’t win yet.”,
she responded distantly to Eden, coughing a little, before snapping back to the present. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she noted with relief that Alice was mostly fine. At least, decent enough to be sassy. Bella was unsure. She couldn’t decide whether or not to let Blake and Alice get away or hunt them down.

Lachlan seemed to think that Alice’s escape was on his shoulders. She approached him and slapped him lightly in the shoulder. He always blamed himself for things that were outside of his control. He wasn’t the only one that let Alice temporarily slip away. Isabella could have hit them harder in the first place. Much harder. She could have done it silently—and not announced herself first. There were a lot of things that she could have done…But Isabella wasn’t cruel. She didn’t enjoy causing pain. “Stop it, Rectify. If you apologize again you’re grounded.”

                                                  “No television for a month.”

He then asked if she knew where they were. Of course, the Alpha’s she was with wouldn’t know that she had debated on letting Bonnie and Clyde ride off into the sunset together. At the end of the day…It was foolish to let Omega’s at half health escape. But something told her to leave well enough alone. Instinct? She wasn't sure.

“Let them go. Amarillo put out a broadcast as to where we are…So we better not be here.”

Daylia simply shrugged when Gracie wondered where their favorite Alpha’s had gone. She hadn’t thought too deeply about the situation at first, not until Gracie mentioned who would cook for them if they had departed permanently. She looked to the dark haired woman in horror. "Oh no! I didn’t even think about that. I don’t want to have to break in a new cook." She said, a slight whine to her voice. "Or worse, have to cook for myself."

Of course, it wasn’t at all that serious. She had liked the two Alphas for more than just their cooking after all. Lynn was always so bubbly and Luke was just plain fun to pick with and egg on. She could only hope that the two would be happy if they were no longer at the academy. Perhaps they would have to question Charlotte about her sister before long.

D was so caught up in her own thoughts that she nearly missed Gracie's comments to Felix. She couldn’t help but accuse the woman of flirting. She couldn’t help but grin, laughing when the dark haired woman suggested that he would flirt with any woman, with and without a pulse.
"How can you be really sure the other isn’t either?"

Gracie bid Charlotte luck with dealing with the speedster, claiming he was wired today. When wasn’t he?

As the pair made their way off, Narcissa decided to put them on the tail of a newby Omega. Gracie took the news hard, deciding it was probably her fault.
"Well, it’s a good thing I’m not you." D said, eyeing the Georgia peach. No matter what, Gracie was never going to get D to change her mind. She was just too stubborn. "Yeah, well, if he decides to try and get you with thirteen other Omegas standing by, I will personally commend him on his stupidity." Daylia attempted to nudge the woman only to allow her elbow to pass through Gracie. "Besides, you can’t hurt what you can’t touch."

Daylia weighed the dark haired woman's words about Dimitri.
"Yeah, maybe… I mean she hasn’t yelled at me yet, and she’s probably gotten a lot of complaints from Bella about it." She shrugged. "Oh well, what’s done is done I guess."

Their attention turned to the announcement made by Alice and Blake. The questions rolled off her tongue without much thought.
"Yeah maybe, but that’s an accident. They’re actually doing it on purpose." She pointed out. Of course, it probably wouldn’t make her friend feel any better about the possibility.

"Yeah, I guess." D said, relenting about her own abilities. "I just hope that if my powers do expand, I’ll be able to do something other than defense." It would certainly make her more useful in her eyes. "Oh, I do love Kitty though, she’s pretty amazing."

As the building crashed around them, D made an attempt to cover her ears as well. Maybe they should have been supplied with a set of earplugs along side the gun that she toted around lazily.
"Yeah, I suppose so, though I’m shocked they haven’t kicked themselves out of the sim yet."

Spotting their appointed newby Omega they made their way to him, only to get an explanation of why he hadn’t responded to Gracie on the communicators. The faux redhead gave a shrug. She didn’t know that they had loaded in more than just civilians. It was good to know.

The new kid on the block introduced himself and followed it up with a question about Gracie’s comment on his looks.
"Jeez, pay him even half a compliment and he gets a big head." D joked, or it at least appeared that she was joking. Gracie mentioned shortening the new nickname, and in Daylia fashion she couldn’t help but offer up a suggestion. "Egotistical maybe?" She said eyeing her partner in crime. "Oh or pompous."

D gave a small wave as Gracie introduced them. A brow arched as the fog came rolling in. She took her eyes off their small group, expecting to see the hint of black and blue somewhere.
"No idea." She said. She hardly ever really kept up with people and their powers, especially if she didn’t work with them often enough. Her eyes snapped back to Gracie as she gave the order. "Roger that."

She eyed their new addition as he compared the situation to a horror movie.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, we’ll at least be safe till you die." She half joked, pointing between herself and Gracie. It was horror 101 after all.

She watched Gracie battle with her powers.
"Ohh, bright light, bright light." She said, mimicking the voice of Gizmo. She blinked a few times to get rid of the stars in her eyes. "When arn’t the puns intended?" D chuckled.

She couldn’t help but jump slightly as she light turned to fire.
"Still not wind." She said, her face feeling some of the heat from the flames as they shot through the fog. "Oh yes please, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner I can get back to my Nightmare on Elm Street marathon."

She plopped a hand on MJ’s shoulder as they began to move.
"Now, if you feel your skin start to crawl when I touch you, don’t fight it." She warned. "I’ll just be making us all stealthy like." Again her gun simply hug at her side.

                                                                      User Image

Narcissa was bored. That was never a good thing. She required some sort of stimulus or fell into the terrible habit of making her own fun. That usually meant that someone would be complaining to the Professors that she was ‘too mean’ in the very near future. The holo-soldiers that the sim provided for fodder went down too easily for her tastes. It wasn’t as if she expected any of Stone’s kinder-care rejects to put up much of a fight. The Alpha leader henned after her team so much that Narcissa wasn’t sure how they remembered to breathe without her help.

Aren pointed out that the Alpha’s had been buying cheap fog machines from Spencer’s © and Solaris rolled her eyes. They dodged or ate a few shots from Dimitri but he didn’t stick around to find out if he’d had any real effect. “It was annoying.”, Narcissa corrected Aren tersely, glaring darkly after his retreating form. They set out not long after that—only to find that the mist was growing denser. That was when the Red Queen started making car bombs.

She felt something in her mind’s eye. A brightness, a blip on her radar. Narcissa noted that it came from behind them but before she could investigate several of her bonfires were put out. The Red Queen watched with vague disinterest as two Alpha’s snuck around ahead of them. One of the boys raised a weapon and she still found herself drawn to somewhere she couldn’t see. She could feel wispy pools of energy behind them. Not, in front of them. Tiny—, she got out the word to warn her Omega, but it was too late.

Gunfire ripped through the air and just like before she was forced to take the defensive position for a moment. Some of the shots missed or grazed her for minimal damage—but at least one of them hit center mass. Narcissa whirled around faster than most would give her credit for and lobbed a fresh blast of hellfire white light at wherever she felt an Alpha hiding. Her health bar was at about seventy-five percent give or take. She didn’t really have time to analyze it.

“Shooting me in the back could be the last thing you ever do.”, she snarled out coldly, before drawing her arm back, then swinging it as if she were throwing a ground ball. Unstable light tore from her being and swept up the street. It split a car in two, leaving little more than molten, burning halves. It continued on—Unbearable heat causing the wet ground to dry up on its path to Marcel. The mist would become less and less effective the more she turned up the heat. Narcissa knew most of the roster for the junior teams by heart. None of the Alpha’s had direct ‘London Fog’ capabilities…But they did have a hydrokinetic. Some mutants felt more comfortable with their laser guns. They were realistic…But there was nothing Narcissa was more accurate with than her own ability.

Aren called her name a moment later and she smiled briefly as white light filled the halls of her eyes. “One of them is the Water Boy. Who was the other?”, she questioned without removing her eyes from the where she had seen the Alpha last. He was on her s**t list. What was with this cowardly little prats? Shooting and running? Shooting her in the back? Poncy little shits. “I didn’t see who tackled you.”

She trusted Aren to have her six and look out for the other bloke. If he weren’t quite so close by she would have really let loose. She’d burned his hands off once. The blonde sun goddess had no desire to do it again. She motioned him to move back toward where the apparent illusion had spawned and waited for either boy to poke their head out. If they didn’t move soon she’d switch her tactics and go on the offensive.

Without a team to boss around she didn't make plans the way most did. Her strategy was simple. She would shoot to kill at anything wearing black and blue. The sim would keep her from killing them. But it would hurt and burn like hell. She smirked a little at the notion and raised both hands in the air. Two medium sized orbs of unstable energy pooled from her palms and and rose a few inches from her skin. The air around her shimmered as she chased every shadow from sight. The mist was little more than an afterthought.

Soon, there would be nowhere to hide.

"We've got this. Just stay out of my line of fire... I don't like the smell of charbroiled Omega."

User ImageHe had sprinted away from the firefight he got caught in, somehow successfully avoiding enemy fire. He bolted, the best way to describe it really, as fast as he could out of danger. His heart pounded in his chest like a war drum, the steady bass of the beat reverberated through his ribcage, he could feel it in his chest, his face, his hands, his feet even. In his moment of flight he developed a bit of tunnel vision that pushed all other distractions from his mind. He thought of nothing but seeking refuge away from the enemy. It was not cowardice, It was a matter of survival, a matter of it being him or them. Right then and there, he chose himself. He’d regroup with the others when he could, for now he just needed to right himself. Reaching an abandoned warehouse he caught his breath. He slowly brought his heart rate down, the tunnel vision receded, he brought himself back into focus. He felt his heartbeat die down, and now he was in control. He called out to his teammates, to see about regrouping.

He checked the weapon that he grabbed off the ground. He was never particularly good with guns, truth be told. He knew how disarm a man holding a gun, but he was never what one may call a marksman. He looked around the warehouse he was in, taking in the light and shadow, appreciating the contrast. If he had the time perhaps he’d go to New York proper with a camera, take a few photos. He needed a hobby to keep himself from going insane at this point.

Scanning the warehouse floor, he was surprised and somewhat startled by the sight of a figure near the window. Lifting up his rifle he tried pulling the trigger, but it just clicked. Piece of s**t must be jammed he thought to himself as he took a few steps back. His foot hit an old piece of piping, to which he grabbed and yanked out with some force. Taking in a deep breath, he threw the pipe at the figure, hoping that whatever it was it was not super strong. Apparently he was correct in his deduction, as the pipe flew right through the figure. The metal piece went straight through the window, shattering the glass with force. Looking in the vicinity of the figure, he saw that the figure seemed to be coming from the shadows from the window.

He groaned as he concluded that he was dealing with a shadow manipulator of some kind. Of course I get caught up in a horror movie scenario” he thought to himself. Checking over his weapon once more, he tried to diagnose what the problem was.

“ Davayte posmotrim, kak etot kusok der'ma lyubit nekotoroye udarnoye obsluzhivaniye.” he then proceeded to hit the rifle several times. He heard something click inside the rifle, and he took that as a good sign, proceeding to stop hitting the weapon.

He began to work around the warehouse, the weapon raised. He kept himself to the light, preferring to avoid the dark. Much as he wanted to charge into the dark, he was not that stupid. He was many things, angry, volatile, possibly at risk for some form of substance abuse, but he was not that stupid.

So he kept moving around in the light, slinking about, keeping his weapon trained.

OOC: Let me know if anything needs to be changed. Feel free to jump in!

Translation for the Russian above: Let's see how this piece of s**t likes some percussive maintenance.
