[Memory 5 - Reproachful]Of course her and her damn need to protect everyone. Honestly if she had said she was protecting any of the others he wouldn't have had only selfish reasons to dispute it. Because it was Gale, because he knew them both too well, he was even more annoyed. *** shook his head emphatically. "It's your job to stick with your division, listen to your division lead WHO WAS IN THE ROOM.. who already punished you JUST FOR BEING THERE."
His face was turning red. His fisted hand slamming into the couch. "Gale's in DEATH. Information gathering. Shifty spying..... stuff. Stuff that isn't compatible with hulking Suns trying to save them or foolish Moons trying to protect them.." His yelling seemed to degrade into mere frustration as he talked on.
"Yeah you made your thoughts loud and clear.. and then leapt in the damn portal anyway! Gale's my best friend. He's also demonstrated time and time again that he's good at his job. He advanced faster than any of us." *** wasn't lying but he was definitely using all of these as excuses. Excuses for the fact that he didn't like seeing her throw herself through a portal and leave him..
"You coulda .." He shook his head. His fight was leaving him. Was he even mad anymore? He wasn't seeming like it. He seemed sad. Hurt. Realities of being left behind had hit him. She could have died through some mystery portal by some mystery assailant. He could have never seen her again.
He probably wouldn't have even cared if she'd dragged him along with her... "Just left me there. Like that."
He knew that orders and missions could separate them, kill them. She'd just done this against all of those things.

((Memory 3/3))
He had just woken up. Things were hazy. He was surrounded by...by glass pods? A woman was speaking to him.
"Just take a deep breath first . . . It's a little hard coming out of the pods, I know."
He didn't overly appreciate the advice.
"You're in the Life labs of Deus Ex Machina, a hidden military group comprised of people like you and me who could see shadows in the world. Someone came and recruited you a while ago, and you had to do some tests that were probably pretty painful--you'll end up remembering better after a couple of days,"
They had conversed a bit following that, him still skeptical, her patient. She had insisted that she knew him, had told him that her name was Stormy. She didn't seem...overly happy that he was there.
He couldn't wait to remember why that could be, as he followed her out of the labs and started his new journey, a vicious smile playing on his lips.

He touched a stone tablet on the wall, and it glowed, then became heavy in his hands.
Confusion. Concern. Anxiety.
A voice chuckled in his mind. "I am Shang."

She stood in room full of dried blood, putrid smell, and rotting bodies. She was covered in it, in them, and she needed to clean. She no longer felt like throwing up.
Others stood just outside, on the edges, gawking.
"Help might be nice."
Nobody moved.
"...I hate you, too."
She heard a noise, the sound of someone falling, calling out as they landed in a puddle of muck. Another gawker wanting a closer look? Or someone wanting to help? ****** made her way to the fallen person, but even as she reached them they jumped up and ran, covered in sticky, slimy, stinky, dead-person goo.
He deserved that, the mess. People who just came to watch could burn for all she cared right at that moment.

Blessing of the Great Her wing was broken, she was sure of it. They told her so many times not to fly in the caves, but one of the other whelps had dared her to do it and so she tried. She flew after them, flitting this way and that until she got a little too excited. There was a sickening crunch and blinding pain as she spiraled down toward the ground, unable to correct her altitude in time and slamming into the soft sand below. Her face was scratched and bloody but it was her wing she was worried about. She knew some dragons who'd broken their wings and never flew again. Her 'friends', if she could have called them that, bolted the moment she hit the cave wall and she lay there for some time, cursing and bleeding as she rocked back and forth trying not to touch her wing. "Idiot...stupid stupid, ***. Momma's gonna kill you..."

[ Proud Memory 2 ]
"W-wait! H-hold on, don't get that out yet...I've been practising!" *** keened, her rotting little zombie body standing a little bit taller. In her backwards hands she held out a book on sign language, the very same one that Christof had given her in passing one day. She could tell by the look on his face that he had forgotten he had even let her borrow it, which made the next conversation all the more fun.
He asked her, in sign language, if she wanted to see her new parts.
She didn't need to reference the book to know what he had said.

Blessing of the Strong "***, don't leave your toys out, someone might get hurt!" She rolled her eyes at her mother's nagging, but got up to pick up her things anyway. It was a battle that wasn't worth fighting and she knew it. "Will he be home tonight?" She asked, though she already knew the answer. "I don't think so, his assignment was pretty big this time." She could hear the tremor in her mother's voice and stopped cleaning to peek into the kitchen. "Hey, momma, don't worry. He's smart and strong, he'll be fine. You worry too much!" She laughed and her mom just waved a hand. "I worry just enough I think, don't you forget it!"

[ Blessing of the Chosen ]
** was chosen to fight. He couldn't believe it. Him of all people. Chosen to fight the horrible creatures that mocked and tormented him all these years. The creatures that ruined his life. He probably should have thought about it a little longer... but he still accepted. **, powerful member of Deus Ex Machina.

*** didn't really know Evan and Tuck's history before Deus. She knew they were Army and Marine and that about summed it up. For a while that had been just fine, but her curiosity was insatiable; what were characters without knowing their backstory?
But she was afraid to ask them for two reasons: one, they probably wouldn't say a thing because they thought she was still five years old in comparison; two, it might be painful. And she was not curious enough to drive them to a place that was uncomfortable.
So sometimes *** would crack open her journal of drabbles and half-finished fictions and make up stories about them. The Sun and The Moon teaming up to become the Eclipse Bros, the world's mightiest superhero team! By day and by night, they protected citizens with the use of their awesome super powers: Evan could use heatrays and the stinging power of Daddy Disapprovals Stares, and Tuck could smash things with his crescent moon axe and had the strength of a Papa Bear (seriously, he was huge), and so many other things besides . . .
They were her brothers, and they were like heroes to her, even if she didn't know what they had gone through before.

Even in the end, the choice hadn't really been hers to make, had it? The Goddesses still dictated things, and it seemed that their goal, in whatever kind of life this had been, was to do tasks for them. This was just the end of another task. What was the reason behind it? Why had they done these things? Were they just going to fade away...?
More questions still needed answers, but sadly, she would never get them as the last remnants of Rime faded away. [offered to Pride]

[ Sad Incident 1/1 ]
She knew Death was a part of the lives of any human. It was part of what they presided over, being the Clan of Death. They were all united in Death, and it was the common factor between all of them that she saw. Horsemen, however, were not the same. Horsemen did not die, at least, not often. They were a strong, hardy race, that could live much longer than those humans, and perhaps even longer than those of the Halloween mainlands.
At least, it felt that way.
But not today. Even the mightiest of the Horsemen could fall, and it seemed, even many horsemen could fall, almost in droves. When the news reached *** of what happened to her people while she was gone, the devastation was hard to shake. She dropped what she did, and fell to her knees, immediately trying to send herself into a trance to try and calm her down and perhaps even to understand what had occurred, but that was even hard for an experienced priestess to do when this upset.
Was her family okay? Were any of her friends okay? How were her sisters? Did the order survive? What about the other clans? They were not her main concern, but they were all Horsemen, and every Horsemen was suffering this day.
***'s heart ached. How had those humans done that? Violence didn't resolve violence but--
She wept pathetically.

[ Sad Memory ]
Lucien answered the door, and his smile instantly faded as he took in the sight of Israfel's coat folded neatly in her hands, balancing a little skelephone. *** lifted her gaze to meet his and, ashamed that she had to be here in the first place, she looked away instantly. "Lucien, I..." She trailed off, her voice trailing off. She forced herself to look at him, her grey eye seeking out his.
"I'm sorry, Lucien. He's...gone."

[Greater Blessing 1/4]
"Do you want to find her?" **** had never heard this voice before. She looked up, blurting out, "Who's there?" seconds before she realized there was a pair of red eyes staring at her through the darkness.
She knocked over her bag in surprise. The contents -- food, Fear candy, a faceball bat, and some extra clothes -- tumbled out onto the floor. She'd spent so long trying to fit all of it in the bag. The faceball bat had been the hardest. Since she hadn't been able to summon her weapon or a familiar yet, it was the best thing she had.
The creature jumped down from its place on the windowsill, circling the bag. "This isn't going to be enough, you know." It -- she, maybe, the voice sounded vaguely female -- said. "You're going to need some help."
**** straightened, leaning closer. "W... wh-what are you talking about? Who are you?"
"I'm Nanabey! I heard about what happened to your sister. I thought I could help you."
****'s eyes grew wide. She was too overcome with hope to wonder how or why this stranger knew about Alicia. "Really?! You'd really help me?"
"Yes. I can give you the magic you need to find her. All you have to do is make a contract with me!"

Soon the pain faded too, and Lyebner was grateful. He had helped, or so he thought, but there was nothing left for him. He just wanted to rest. So he did.
