Rhone Craft and Solaire of Astora══════════════════════════Location: Open field | Company: Someone from here? I think? Also someone decidedly...not. (Kratos and Azura.)Rhone, lost in thought, barely even notices Azura until he feels the fire start. "Wait, what are you-"Within moments of the fire tornado appearing, the blade in Rhone's hand screeches and releases its grip. Returned from the attempted posession, Rhone's eyes return to normal as he sees the blade in pain. Without a second thought, he pulls the blade, along with its arm, into his coat and tucks forward to try to protect it. He grits his teeth as both pain and rage build inside him. "You think... to light me ablaze... while I try to..."His eyes begin glowing again, blue this time, as his anger overtakes him momentarilly. "I'M TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION!"He encases his body in shimmering mana and throws his arms outward, sending the mana away from him as a powerful force meant not to damage, but to repel. Solaire watches the spectacle with his sword drawn, weighing whether or not he should interfere "For someone supposedly posessed, he sure seems to have active control of his abilities... I don't even remember teaching him the Force miracle..."

Kratos Aurion and Azura CantarellaThe Traitor to Heaven and the Wolf of Azure Shadow══════════════════════════Location: Open Field | Company: Rhone, SolaireAzura was about to jet off and do a stop-drop-and-roll seeing as she also set herself on fire, but Rhone's mana blast got that covered. She was thrown backward and off her hoverboard, both sent tumbling across the ground. Upon running out of momentum and coming to a stop, the hoverboard reverted to its original form and made a powering-down noise. Azura herself was dizzied from the rolling, and after she propped herself back up to at least kneel, she noticed herself growing feverish with her heart pounding heavily and rapidly in her chest. She could also feel shifting and popping in her hands, her clawed fingernails stretching slightly and the underside of her fingertips turning black... "GodDAMN it, adrenaline rush, I don't need this right now! Especially after the 'belly rubs' remark!" she hissed as quietly as possible to herself. She dug her fingers into a tight grip into the earth, bowed her head, and took deep breaths to calm herself down. Though considerably high up in the air, Kratos could still hear what was being said at ground level. It was fortunate he didn't suppress his angelic ability of enhanced hearing, or else he would have let loose the Eruption spell he was preparing. He canceled his spell in time to see Azura being knocked back by whatever Rhone pulled off. When she came to, she seemed to be...keeling over in pain? But her chastising (and curious...) remarks toward herself said otherwise. He drifted down to meet at her side, getting down on one knee and placing a hand on her shoulder. "Azura? Are you alright?""...Huh?"When she lifted her head to look up at him, he began to crease his brow in a sharp, confused expression. There was a feral glow in her eyes, and...did she always have pale blue sideburns? Were her teeth always that sharp...? In a couple moments' passage, Azura noticed the way Kratos was looking at her and shook her head vigorously while making those strange features recede, in the hopes of getting him to think he was just imagining things. She removed her hands from the earth—they were back to normal too—and stood herself up, proceeding to pick the dirt out of her nails in a nervous fidgeting sort of manner. "Y-yeah, I'm fine, thanks," she managed to mumble out. That is a bridge we will cross when we get there, Kratos thought to himself, deciding not to press the matter further. She didn't seem like she wanted to be open about whatever that was just yet. He got back up to his feet as well to watch Rhone carefully, a hand resting on the hilt of his blade in case he needed to draw it once more.

Jade Curtiss and Zaul OleanderThe Necromancer and the One-Eyed Gunman══════════════════════════Location: Tower of Mana Ruins | Company: Krystal, Pascal "Indeed," Jade simply replied with a nod of agreement and led the way back through the masses in search of Zaul. ~~~ Zaul sighed in relief and smiled warmly, glad that Pascal wasn't alarmed at all by his casting. He'd try this on fellow natives of the world, but it was mostly humans who'd run away screaming under the impression that a half-elf was trying to murder them. "Glad ta have been 'f service, Pascal," he replied jovially with a bow. After which, he sensed two kinda familiar mana signatures moving toward himself and the spunky Amarcian. He turned around to address them. "Ah, Jade? Krystal? What's up?"Jade spoke as he moved closer, "Zaul, surely you've noticed by now that...quite a handful of our acquaintances have mysteriously vanished."The one-eyed gunman put a hand to his forehead and let out a deep sigh. D'oh. Way to spill th' beans, Jade, he thought. He wanted to avoid any outright claim of disappearance around Pascal until they were 100% sure about it, so as to not burden her with so much worry about being left in this world without a familiar face. "Yeah...'bout that. This 'ere's Pascal, by th' way. We lost 'er friend Hugh while Ah was tryin' ta find a spot ta heal her injuries." He pointed behind him with his thumb. Ever smiling, the colonel gave a nod of acknowledgement toward the girl. "A pleasure, Pascal. I'm Jade Curtiss, by the way. A fellow other-worlder, from the world of Auldrant."

Lloyd Irving The Eternal Swordsman══════════════════════════Location: Iselia | Company: DartStill wide-eyed, Lloyd answered, "No, definitely not!" Calming down, he glanced sideways and toward the ground and wore a frown of worry. "This is obviously a major deal and all, but...there's not much more we can do about it from here. I just hope they're alright." A pause, then he continued, "Well, this is it. Raine and Genis' home. They're out exploring what's happening on the other side of the world, actually. But I'm sure they won't mind me saying, on behalf of them, to make yourself at home."He opened the door and walked in first, leaving it open to give way to Dart, of course. It was a small house but it had everything necessary. A dining table to the left of the entrance and bookshelves against the walls of the front right corner of the house. Occupying the back left corner was the cooking area, comprised of a wood-burning stove, a stone counter, and cupboards above the counter. Directly across from that were the siblings' two single beds, a standing wooden wardrobe between them. The four windows of the house were located beside the front door, at the left wall between the kitchen and dining area, at the back wall between the kitchen and sleeping area, and beside the beds. While Lloyd started searching through the bookshelves, Dart was more than welcome to perhaps take a seat at the table, or whatever it was he wished to do. Now, Lloyd remembered the questions he was readying for Dart, and figured now was a good enough time to let them out. Grinning with intrigue again, he began, "So...back to what you mentioned about being a Dragoon? What's transforming like...I mean, what exactly happens to you?" The title of "Dragoon" made Lloyd imagine that Dart perhaps could kinda almost literally change into a dragon. "And what can you do with fire?"~~~ Raine SageIselia's Beloved Professor══════════════════════════Location: Sybak | Company: TearRaine made a humble smile at Tear's assumption. "Apparently. I don't really think of myself as such. I am a teacher, yes, but I too bear in mind that I am continuously learning." She took the offered handshake and duly replied, "The pleasure's all mine, Tear."Raine's eyes widened with curiosity when Tear mentioned she was from another world entirely. "You know, that doesn't sound entirely too far-fetched to me. Just a few years ago, this world was split in two. On a journey back then that ultimately ended in bringing it back together, I had met people from the other world." She nodded when Tear pleaded for understanding of why she hid that fact about herself. "Indeed, most people wouldn't believe you anyway. They've grown up believing their home worlds of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla were the only ones in existence, and the reunion of the worlds alone has been...a lot for them to wrap their heads around."Raine paused and fell silent to gather her thoughts regarding Tear's following questions, putting a hand to her chin. "...I wouldn't say Aselia's mana is unstable. There's just a shortage of it, as it was all pooled in Tethe'alla before the worlds recombined and thus the mana had to be distributed across a bigger world. If anything's unstable...this is a very wild guess, but I'd say it very well could be the dimensional fabrics surrounding this world. Aselia was separated by means of dimensional manipulation, and even after it's been dispelled...I'd think there's some sort of 'scarring' left behind." Another pause, and then she concluded, "All that being said, if that might be the case, I'm still not sure if the Shadows of Corruption would have any relation."

(Kratos and Azura.)Rhone's eyes return to normal as he opens his coat and takes the sword back out. "Hey, you alright?"The sword levitates out of Rhone's grip and hovers next to his head, making noise that sounds not unlike metal clanging. "Well, you seem to be in good shape. Alright, come along then."The sword picks up its sheathe and sheathes itself inside it before floating to Rhone's left hip, wrapping its arm around him and turning itself into a makeshift belt. Rhone then slowly approaches Azura and Kratos. "Now look, guys, I get it. I had the sword, you thought I was posessed, whatever. But..."He stomps his foot down and shakes his fist at the pair. "Couldn't you have waited a few seconds?! You didn't even hesitate to attack me! And why did you set me on fire?!"He calms down and crosses his arms over his chest and looks down, shaking his head. "Do you treat all your allies like potential threats?"Meanwhile, Solaire is crouched over the creature the sword was posessing, trying to make sure it's okay. "Are you unharmed, cat-hound? Do you need healing?"All at once, the creature springs up, seemingly unharmed, and stretches toward everyone else, stopping before it reaches the group. "Hoi! Tem sorry for Tem's behoivior! Tem didn't want attack humans... But! That's! Okey! Tem can help huuuuuu..."Temmie's face entire face drifts as she notices and looks at the sword on Rhone's hip. "Uwawawawah! Pascal Amarcian Prodigy ♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋♋ Tower of Mana Ruins || Jade, Krystal and ZaulPascal's Amarcian heart nearly skipped a beat upon the colonel's words. It made sense to her now, Hubert's sudden disappearance was connected to that wave of invisible power she felt. Something like this cannot be ruled to sheer coincidence. But how could Hu and some other people go poof like that? What kind of person or thing can create such a strong woosh of gobbely-gook? It's not like any arte that I know of, so it must be a powerful and obscure arte that only a few can achieve.Pascal gave the tall man a cheerful smile. "Hiya, Jade," she turned her head slightly to Krystal, whom she was infatuated instantly. "And blue-fox lady. So you guys felt that big woosh a few minutes ago, too?"OOC: Watch out, Krystal. Kratos Aurion and Azura CantarellaThe Traitor to Heaven and the Wolf of Azure Shadow══════════════════════════Location: Open Field | Company: Rhone, SolaireSeeing that the situation had calmed down, Kratos merely shifted out of his defensive stance and crossed his arms, giving a sideways glance toward Azura knowing that she could explain things better. A man of few words, a strong and mostly silent type, speaking only when he thought he had anything of worth to say. After Azura picked the last of the dirt out of her nails, she gave a huffing sigh and looked up at Rhone to explain with a rather dry expression on her face. "Well, for starters...I've been to the world that creature is originally from. I know it to be a species called Honedge. From what I had learned, not only does it have the ability to possess, it also drains life force doing so. It is of the Steel and Ghost typings, and Steel in particular is weak to fire. So there you have it."Meanwhile, Kratos silently observed this Temmie creature as it joined them. What peculiar movements, he thought as he made a subtly surprised expression. And now that he had room to, he also began to wonder what happened to a certain childish fox spirit. "...Has anyone seen where Seishin might have gone off to?" he spoke up. He indeed noticed that the fox child's mana signature seemed to have vanished entirely, but he was testing if anyone else had some insight. At Kratos' words, Azura did a double-take and turned her head about a bit frantically in concern. She didn't know for sure; perhaps the spirit was older than he looked, but with the face of a child she couldn't just ignore the thought of him in danger. "Wh-whoa! I-I didn't even notice he was gone!" She subtly sniffed at the air as she continued to look around, walking about until she found the one spot Seishin's scent lingered the strongest. It wasn't too far off, it was still close by. She stared at that spot on the ground, brow creased in intense contemplation. She seemed very perplexed about something.

 Dart Feld
Swordsman of Revenge Location: Iselia Currently With: Lloyd This was strange indeed, but Dart would have to agree with Lloyd. There was nothing either of them could do for Issun and Ichi aside for hoping that they were alright where ever they are. As Lloyd spoke about the house, the blonde swordsman glanced over at the house. "And I do appreciate the hospitality, even if they were home." He said as he slowly came inside after Lloyd did. He took a moment to look around the place. "This is a nice little home your friends have." He said before he walked over to take a seat at the table while Lloyd searched through the bookshelves.
It was then he heard the brunette swordsman's question about being a Dragoon, mainly about his transformation and what he could do with fire. He wished he could just simply show Lloyd the Dragoon form. "It's kinda hard to describe as what happens exactly, but the gist is that I'll have red armor and gain wings as well as boost in power and defense. With the fire, I can mostly use magical attacks with it, and I can also summon a dragon as well." He said with a smile as he once took out his Dragoon Spirit to show Lloyd. It was giving off a bright red glow. "It would easier to just show you how it works, but I'll have to be in battle in order to transform. My friends are Dragoons as well, but they each have different elements like lightning, wind, earth, ice, light, and darkness. Like with me, they use magic related to their elements as well as summon dragons." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ☆ ★ Krystal ★ ☆ Telepath Location: Tower of Mana Ruins Currently With: Jade, Zaul, Pascal✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪ Krystal followed Jade through the crowd in search of Zaul until they spotted the one-eyed male with a girl with two-toned hair. As they approached him, the blue vixen was about to answer Zaul's question, yet Jade had already beaten her to it. When he introduced the girl to them, Krystal smiled to her as she gave a nod in acknowledgement to her. She then blinked for a moment with how fascinated Pascal seemed towards her. Now that was something she wasn't used to...least from her experience in Aselia thus far. "I'm Krystal. I'm an otherworlder from the planet Cerinia. Yes, we've felt it too. As Jade had said, quite a few people have disappeared." Her gaze then shifted over to Zaul. "Unfortunately, Soul and Maka were among those who had disappeared as well."

That in itself sounded a bit far-fetched. Then again with how this world was attracting people from other worlds, she would take Raine's word for it. From the way it sounded, it was as though Aselia had been split into two for quite a long time prior it being whole once more. It definitely raised alot of questions for the Melodist. "A world split in two....How were you and your friends able to bring it together? How did you travel between Sylvarant and Tethe'alla at the time?" She asked. Perhaps however they traveled between worlds, there could be a way as to how she can return to Auldrant.
It was then she listened to Raine's explanation regarding how there was actually a shortage of mana, which did clear some things up for Tear. She could agree with her theory about the dimensional fabrics, despite it being a wild guess. "That could explain as to how otherworlders like myself have been appearing here in Aselia. More than likely your friends may have already encountered others like me." She said. "My guess about the shadows is about as good as everyone else's unfortunately. Then again, I have a long way to go to learn about your world since I'll be stuck here for a while. I've noticed that Aselia shares some similarities with Auldrant. We use Gald as currency, and use the same kind of items like Gels, Life Bottles, and the like. What you call 'mana' here seems similar to what we call 'fonons'."♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪

Lloyd Irving The Eternal Swordsman══════════════════════════Location: Iselia | Company: DartLloyd's mouth gaped into an O as he listened intently to Dart's explanation while continuing to search for the map. So it's simply that he gets wings and powered-up armor...well, he had wings once but he didn't know how to make it happen again. And the way it happened to Dart sounded so cool! He could even summon a dragon? There were more like him? "Y'know, you might be able to show me soon enough. I mean, whatever you want to do from here, I wouldn't mind helping you out. You're in an entirely new world here, and I know my way around." Lloyd remembered he did have the Rheaird, but thought that it perhaps would be best to travel on foot for now. He did want to look out for any possible changes at ground level that could hardly be seen from the sky. "Aha! Found it," he blurted out in the next second, then handed over the map of the combined worlds over to Dart. It was in one of the drawers beneath the bookshelves. Lloyd then rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish look and said, "With all that's been going on, I...actually forgot whether or not you mentioned what it is you wanted to do next. Er...did you?" sweatdrop ~~~ Raine SageIselia's Beloved Professor══════════════════════════Location: Sybak | Company: TearRaine folded her arms and explained. "To put it succinctly, we needed to obtain a legendary, magical weapon called the Eternal Sword, which has the ability to cleave the fabric of time and space itself. It was what the person who separated the worlds wielded. As for how we traveled between the worlds...well, mostly, we had the help of an organization we allied with. They were able to generate dimensional portals over their bases in both worlds, but now that they're reunited they're most likely defunct." A pause, and then she went on to add, "There was another means we used at least once during the journey, however. It's a set of ruins called the Otherworldly Gate, and it would be activated on full moon nights. But now that the worlds are together, they instead lead to a place called the Ginnungagap, where the seal to the demon realm, Niflheim, lies."Raine smiled amusedly at Tear's suggestion that perhaps her friends had met otherworlders too. "Perhaps they have. We shall see soon enough." Her eyes widened slightly when Tear mentioned some similarities her home world had with Aselia; she was quite intrigued. "Does it, now? Does Auldrant's Gald look the same as ours?" She wasn't even sure how to tackle the subject of the medicinal items with the exact same concept so she jumped straight to, "What would you say is the difference between mana and these 'fonons' of yours? Are there...certain races that are able to manipulate your world's energies to wield the elements? Here in Aselia, it's the elven-blooded that are able to do so." There was a contained excitement in her tone; contained because she didn't want to overwhelm Tear by coming off as overly exuberant. She really was on the verge of "ruin mode", despite the subject not really being about ruins. ~~~ Genis SageKendama Mage══════════════════════════Location: Open field near Sybak's north entrance | Company: no one in particularWhile his big sister was off taking care of a few things in Sybak's facilities, Genis decided to patrol outside of the academic city for any more developments. When they were making their way out of the Gaoracchia Forest after having retrieved a plant that was in a shadow-affected area, he felt a disturbance that piqued his keen senses of mana. Like something else was about to happen there. By now, that something had probably happened already, and he wanted to observe if any sign of it would be roaming around. Speaking of roaming, he wondered what that figure of black he could see on the horizon was. It seemed to be coming in his general direction quite fast. "What the heck...?" he muttered to himself, growing wide-eyed. He shoved a hand into the pocket that housed his kendama and got into a defensive stance, just in case the thing was going to pose a threat to Sybak. ((EDIT: Added Genis' part. Noting that he's seeing Hiei coming toward the north end, because Team Attack on Temmie would be coming from the south end and I wanted to make it clear they wouldn't be crossing Genis and Hiei out there. Having someone who knows their way around would be a big help for him. That and he didn't mind the brunette swordsman's company. "I appreciate the help very much, Lloyd." He said with a smile. It was then Lloyd had found the map of the combined worlds. Dart took a moment to look at the map after Lloyd handed it to him. "I have planned to search for my friends. If they have ended up here as well, I hope to find them first before finding a way back to my world. I'm pretty certain they have the same idea as well." He said as he gazed at the map before looking at Lloyd. "I'm curious about something though. That Eternal Sword you mentioned before. You said that it had split this world in two, and you had used it to make it whole again. How did you come across such a weapon?" He was certain a sword with that sort of power was no easy feat to get a hold of. Zaul did have a point. There was nothing they could do with the current situation. All they can do is keep moving. Her gaze then shifted over to Pascal, who seemed to be scanned her. Being a telepath, she was able to read the Amarcian's thoughts. She couldn't help but blush a bit at the thought of being touched. She had never met anyone who was this excited over her appearance. "I'm...a fox..." She murmured softly in response to Pascal's thoughts. Her ears then twitched upon hearing Jade speak up, which had the blue vixen quickly turn her attention to him. "What is it, Jade?" She asked before giving a nod in agreement to rest before they continue on.

Why would anyone split a world a world in two? From the way Raine had it sounded, it didn't sound it was anything good. She would ask more about it, yet decided to hold back on it for now. "You and your friends had quite the journey, didn't you?" The mention of the organization Raine and her friends had allied with as well as the Otherworldly Gate had also caught her interest. "This organization you spoke of....Are they still around as we speak?" She asked. It didn't seem like this Otherworldly Gate would be much help if lead somewhere that could be dangerous. "This Niflheim is also another world as well?"
It was then Raine had begun her questions regarding the similarities between Auldrant and Aselia. The Melodist would then pull out a small pouch where she kept some of her Gald in, took out a coin. "Material-wise, yes." She said as she held the coin out for Raine to see for herself. Raine then asked about fonons, and Tear noted the excitement the female half-elf was trying to contain. The Melodist was amused by this. "Fonons are particles of sound that are divided into seven categories that each represent a particular element. Originally there were only six until the discovery of the Seventh Fonon." She said. She then frowned for a moment when Raine mentioned that those with elven-blood could use magic. Apparently humans couldn't use the elements or healing artes in Aselia unlike in Auldrant. This might prove to be a problem for her. "I haven't heard of elven-blood before. Majority of the population in Auldrant are either human or copies known as Replicas. As far as I know, they both can perform fonic artes, yet there only certain people who can wield the Seventh Fonon. They are what we call 'Seventh Fonists', mostly healers or Scorers, those who read a prophecy called the Score. I myself am a Seventh Fonist and a Melodist. I can use healing artes and the Fonic Hymns." She said. "With me being human, I don't suppose I can perform my artes here, even though I'm from another world? HieiWielder of the Dragon══════════════════════════ Location: Open Field / Near Sybak's North Entrance Currently With: GenisIt didn't take Hiei long before he spotted his destination in the distance. It felt good to move at this pace now that he didn't have anyone to babysit. As he drew closer and closer toward the academic city, he soon spotted a figure just outside taking a defensive stance. Was he expecting him? The three-eyed demon soon came to a stop a few feet in front of the boy, a hand to the hilt of his sword. "Don't get in my way." He said, narrowing his red eyes. He could sense the boy possessed spirit energy like that of a human, yet there was another aura to him that he was unsure as to what. But he could tell that he wasn't fully human.

Jade Curtiss / Zaul Oleander / Sheena FujibayashiThe Necromancer | The One-Eyed Gunman | The Chief of Mizuho══════════════════════════Location: Tower of Mana Ruins | Company: Krystal, PascalHaving had her fill of solitude now, Sheena decided to see how the remaining otherworlders were doing. But first... "...Young lady, I believe you dropped something."Sheena caught up with the little girl who thought her mother died in the evacuation of Luin, holding out the locket that she threw at her. The child froze when she turned around and caught sight of the kunoichi. Eyes filling with tears and guilt, she ran up to her (to which Sheena got down on one knee, knowing what was coming) and hugged her tightly. "M-miss Sheena, I'm so sorry! Thank you for bringing back my locket, and I'm so sorry I blamed you for everything!" the little girl cried into her shoulder. Sheena gave the child a pat on the back, smiling warmly. "It's okay, little one. It's been a scary time and you couldn't find your mother immediately. I would've thought the same if I were your age."After placing the child's cherished locket back in her hands, Sheena let her go on along her way with her mom, and she went along her own. ~~~ Zaul crossed his arms and looked thoughtful about Pascal's suggestion. "That sounds like a good ahdea, but when all th' disappearin' happened, Ah didn' even feel any shift in th' mana. Whenever anyone's castin' a spell near me, Ah can at least feel some sort of mana drain in the atmosphere. So Ah don' think it's like there was an arte cast ta make people disappear."Jade nodded in agreement and added, "The conclusion that can be drawn from that, at least, is that it must be some other kind of force that doesn't necessarily use mana." To Krystal's query, he responded, "I could better explain it if only we had a map...but you left your belongings back in the tavern because of the rush of the evacuation, didn't you, Zaul?"Zaul rubbed the back of his head sheepishly with a bit of a nervous laugh. "Eheheh...that Ah did...oh yeah, wait! Ah jus' remembered someone did teach me an object tel'portation arte! As long as Ah have th' connectin' talisman in my pack—n' Ah reckon Ah really did leave it in there—Ah jus' need ta carve out th' landing glyph n' it'll be jus' fine!"The gunman took a dagger out of a sheathe that hung from his utility belt, then dropped to one knee and started carving into the ground. It only took him a couple of minutes, as it was just a small, simple looking glyph. After which, he put his dagger back into its sheathe and placed his hands outside the sides of the glyph. Once he closed his eyes and concentrated, the lines he drew in the ground glowed softly. Zaul didn't even need a spoken incantation; after a (thankfully not blinding) flash of white light, Zaul's pack poofed into the center of the glyph. "Aw thank Martel Ah have my clean undergarments back," he muttered to himself under his breath, then proceeded to fish around in the compartments for the map, which he eventually got out and unraveled for all the others to see. It was then that Sheena finally found the group of remaining otherworlders. "Uh, hi there. I trust you're already well aware what's going on, so I needn't repeat anything about it. How are you all holding up?" Spotting Pascal, she added, "Now there's someone I haven't personally met yet. I take it you're also an otherworlder? I'm Sheena, and I'm actually a native to this world myself. If there's any way I can help you, all of you, I'll try my best.""Ah, Sheena!" Jade interjected with a cheerful tone, "Speak of the devil. I was about to explain a theory I had regarding the shadows, and I preferred that you be present as well to hear it out. Zaul, if you would please lay the map down on the ground?" Speak of the devil? the kunoichi thought, cocking an eyebrow at the way Jade addressed her. "Go on..."After the gunman set the map and used some various objects from his bag to weigh down its corners, Jade got down to one knee so that he was able to point out what he needed to, and got to work. "As we've come to know, the towns that have been affected by the appearance of the recent shadow are Hima, Luin, and Asgard. As we were leaving Hima, I noticed that the shadow seemed to stop just outside of the town's limits. Sheena, you came from Luin, didn't you? Could you claim the same?""Come to think of it...yeah, that's what I saw."Jade looked to the Amarcian. "And you, Pascal, did you come from Asgard? If so, did you see if the shadow stopped just outside of the town's walls as well?"((I used a different icon for Jade here because the unevenness was gonna bother me a lot otherwise. ))

Lloyd Irving The Eternal Swordsman══════════════════════════Location: Iselia | Company: DartLloyd smiled back at Dart's gratitude. "Hey, man, no problem." He went on to add, purely out of habit, "Dwarven Vow #2: Never abandon someone in need." As he watched his fellow red-clad swordsman examine the map, he couldn't help but chuckle a bit at what he aimed to do. Aselia's a whole new world to Dart, how could he even tell where to begin? "Heheh, what gives you that kind of hunch? Were you traveling with your friends before you were suddenly thrown into this world?"At Dart's last question, however, Lloyd suddenly grew quiet for a bit. Not only was he gathering his thoughts, but remembering those times brought up a mixed bag of feelings. He took a seat at the dining table, feeling he was in for giving a long explanation. As he began to tell his story, his glance drifted elsewhere for a while and became distant. "Yeah, it really wasn't an easy feat. It's not an easy story to tell either. We sought first to actually have the sword entrusted to me. And for that to happen...I was supposed to strike my dad, I mean my real dad, down in a duel because he was the living seal of the Summon Spirit who had that right. I won the duel, but like...I didn't want to kill him, y'know? He had played the villain pretty damn well, doing things that put someone important to me under a lot of danger, and by that time I learned it was all a front.
But to break the seal, he really had to release the mana that sustained his life. Fortunately, one of his old friends was there to keep him from dying by giving some of his own mana.
It wasn't completely over from there, though. The Summon Spirit still wanted to test my resolve himself, and so I had to fight him too. I was allowed to have some of my friends back me up, but it still wasn't easy. He was the King of the Summon Spirits, after all, so he was very powerful.
Then to be able to actually wield the sword, because it could only be used by elven-bloods, a special pact ring had to be crafted by my adoptive dad. The materials were very rare, but the one who did the all the work already finding them was my real dad. He did all that secretly, again, all while playing the enemy. It wasn't until then that it really sank in how much he cared about me even though he wasn't there for most of my life."Looking back to Dart as he concluded, he laughed a bit. "Hahah, I think I told a bit too much there. I hope I didn't bore you."~~~ Raine SageIselia's Beloved Professor══════════════════════════Location: Sybak | Company: TearRaine nodded at Tear's inquiries, smiling. "We sure did. It's a pretty long story." Then, in response to the melodist's question about the Renegades, she spoke in a slightly hushed tone. "Yes, that organization still exists, but for safety reasons, I cannot speak more about them in public. But they're helping us even now in trying to understand the current crisis." Bringing her tone back to normal, she continued, "To my understanding, yes. It's a sealed dimension where all demonkind is imprisoned in order to keep the world safe. Demons are very powerful creatures that could easily overpower humanity if they were to freely roam again. Mana is poisonous to them, but it's still crucial that the demons remain sealed because of the shortage."The professor took the coin into her hands and eyed it with excited intrigue, turning it over a few times and examining its visuals. Indeed, it was the same metal, but on one side was the engraving of the head at profile of a woman she did not recognize, and on the other was an insignia that was equally unfamiliar. "Even if it is the same material...hm. Have you been able to spend your Gald here yet? I imagine the engravings might have raised some suspicion. What do they represent, by the way?" Raine returned the coin to Tear, then took out one of her own to show to her. "Here's a piece of Aselian Gald, for comparison. The face on this side is an artist's interpretation of the goddess Martel, and on the back here is the emblem of the Sylvarant region."After she let Tear take the coin, she put a hand to her chin and listened intently to the melodist's explanation about fonons, mentally noting with surprise that the term "artes" is also used in Auldrant. More questions arose in her head, especially about what the seven categories of fonons are (though she guessed they might be the elements themselves) and this prophetic "Score", but perhaps they were better for another time. "So the energy differs in which it's more sound-based...so I take it that artes in Auldrant are mostly invoked by spoken incantation and song, then?" The melodist mentioned "hymns" and her usage of them, so she imagined singing to cast a spell. Raine nodded in acknowledgement at Tear's unfamiliarity with elven blood. "I see...this is another guess here, but if you possess the ability to manipulate fonons back in your home world, I believe you still may be able to use mana for your artes. That ability lies in your blood, and while you're human, it doesn't necessarily mean your blood is the same as Aselian human blood; do you see what I'm getting at? I think it wouldn't hurt to give it a try when you can. At most, it simply might feel a bit odd casting, and may take a few tries to get used to the feeling."A pause, to gather her thoughts on Tear's last question. "In regard to healing artes, there are some that rely on mana, which elven-bloods use, and some that rely on an innate power in all beings that does not necessarily require mana. Humans can use the latter but it can require years of training, thus there are very few who know these techniques. I'm currently working little by little on the side project of completing the research of an ancient healer named Boltzman. The heart of his research focuses on the latter concept of healing artes that I described.
As for elemental artes...I know of only two humans who were able to wield them, and they were among the friends I traveled with in the journey to reunite the world. They had to ingest a mineral called aionis, which enabled mana to become responsive to their blood. But aionis doesn't actually exist in Aselia; only on a wandering planet called Derris-Kharlan that comes by once a century. It was last nearby about three years ago."There was something the melodist mentioned in her explanation that piqued equal parts curiosity and uneasiness, which could be seen in her face. "However...'Replicas'? Copies of humans? How...how was that even achieved...?" Raine wasn't sure she actually wanted to know, but curiosity made her drag out the question anyway. It certainly wasn't an advancement that was achieved in Tethe'alla, let alone the rest of the world, at all. ~~~ Genis SageKendama Mage══════════════════════════Location: Open field near Sybak's north entrance | Company: HieiGenis' eyes widened in apprehension at a handful of things. Firstly, that this human figure could run so fast. Secondly, that this stranger didn't seem all that human at all. He could sense a fire power within him so immense that it felt like even Tidal Wave wouldn't have so much effect against him. Also, he kind of had a demon-y vibe about him...but that didn't make sense, mana is supposed to be poisonous to demons. He seemed to be standing there just fine. Thirdly, for someone built like an adult, the stranger was pretty short. Genis could swear he kinda had almost a couple of inches on him, if not for the hair. Lastly, the stranger seemed to be reaching for a weapon of his own in preparation. Okay, Genis, don't go picking fights you can't win, he thought to himself. He was confident in his abilities as a mage, especially since he mastered the Meteor Storm spell, but he knew he could only exercise his full potential with someone else keeping foes at bay. He often needed to stand still in concentration, but if this guy was more of an up-close fighter, he knew he was doomed. "H-hey...relax, man!" he spoke up, raising his hands to the sides at level with his head in surrender. "You looking for something in Sybak over there? You seem like you'd be new to the place..."((I feel like I should apologize for throwing this wall at you. I hope it's alright that I implied some actions for Tear. I kind of needed it to move things along in a way that made sense.))
