Her feet were heavy, her mind was floating, and her heart hurt. Too much had happened, and not enough answers were given. The more she tried not to think about it, the more she did. She climbed. Slowly but steadily she climbed. She also tried to remember. Things seemed to be fading fast, though. She couldn't seem to grasp onto her memories properly. Uru nodded as they continued to the top of the tower. Others, he noted were going too, but they didn't matter. At the pace they were going, they could get to the top in no time! However, he was the one who was gonna take the lead, bounding up the steps once more past the girl. [[ 30 + 13 = 43 ]]

The Voice returned. It sounded...Sherry wasn't sure. Was that desperation? Just a hint, perhaps? And did it just...offer her... Sherry shook her head. She didn't want that. She just wanted to know what was at the top of this tower. And...she wanted to know what she was. She didn't want to be king of anything. She just wanted....to see this through. So she continued. If she knew he thought this would all be cake, Maple would have scoffed and laughed at him. She had to wonder if he had looked up and seen this set of stairs. Twice as many... the fool.
Still, she climbed up, feeling a bit of the strain on her body. This was a horrible body, she missed the Shadows... how did these other creatures live like this?
Passing by the 150th floor brought only more terrible words reaching her ears. Something she didn't want to hear and ... probably something she didn't want Uru to.

The further up the stairs Jerry went, the more his thoughts turned to the possibility of falling from the tower.
Falling from Harrison's had been bad enough. Hopefully it wasn't something he'd be repeating.

It was strange, yet reassuring that he didn't feel such a pull from the Voice.
Perhaps its hold was weakening, or perhaps he was starting to regain more of himself... who he once was.

As soon as Moriko reached the second floor she paused for a few seconds to regain her breath and wait for Sigrun. How much further to the top was it? Looking up at the steps ahead of her, Moriko couldn't even begin to guess. She knew she had to go at least as many steps as she had just walked. As Sigrun caught up with her, Momo gave another nod and encouraging smile before she started back up the stairs.
