ooc: so... who's going to the gathering? Or is Breezeclan too busy with this new little drama to go? THAT could be an interesting plot twist. Then they wouldn't be able to announce the cure!
@leo: (laughs) thanks for the clarification, but I was just being a butt to the annoying one over there. Rhetoric is a wonderful teaching device.

Willowstar was panting heavily when she neared Doveflight and Dicekit and Joykit. "What happened? Doveflight, where's Spadekit? Dicekit do you know anything?"
((gotta announce the Gathering...can we hurry back to camp?))

     ❧  ♨[Galespirit ran, his paws drumming the earth.
Drowning. Someone was drowning.
He was just about to reach Doveflight, but he sensed it. Drowning.
It was as if something was clogging his senses. It made him unable to track Doveflight. The fear from the drowning cat was so strong, it overwhelmed him. He had to save them.
He burst out of the moor and up to the river.
He saw Spadekit, gripping to a branch for her dear life. Galespirit's eyes widened as he smelled the fading scent of Doveflight. Before he could even think, he had burst into the river.
His paws stroked confidently through the rough waters. Galespirit kept his head high. He swam downriver, making him go faster, but he had to aim it right- one wrong move and he would be swept too far away from Spadekit.
Galspirit quickly manuevered through the mighty waves, eyes set hard and unmoving on Spadekit.
Finally, he was swept right onto the branch. He heaved himself over to the kit and grabbed her scruff. She cried out and desperately tried to scrabble upawrds.
He grunted and quickly began to manuever around the branch. Unfortunately, they were in the middle of the river. Slowly, achingly, he clawed and pulled them towards the riverbank, where the branch was caught between a strong bolder and the mud. The riverbank was tall and slippery.
He tried to scramble out of the river, but the bank was too high above him. His claws slipped uselessly down the mud wall. Cursing inwardly, he used his back legs to grip the branch and pushed upwards with all his might.
He went flying out of the river, Spadekit in tow. He landed at an awkard angle on top of the branch. He hadn't aimed his jump-just desperately jumped. After some scrambling and a little clawing at the earth, he heaved himself and Spadekit out of the river.
He put down the kit gently and gasped for breath. Suddenly, he froze.
Spadekit lay delicately on the ground unmoving. Her flank was eerily still.]
"Spadekit!' he croaked.
[He quickly heaved himself up, muscles groaning in protest. He pushed his paw on her belly, and she started to cough up large amounts of water. After a few pushes, she gasped for breath and opened her beautiful wide eyes.]
"Can you walk?" he asked, coughing slightly..

Willowstar marched Doveflight back to camp. Along with the strange new kit, Joykit and Dicekit. "Dicekit, do you know what happened to Spadekit?" She whispered, trotting at a brisk pace beside Doveflight, Dice kit was on her other side. She kept a wary eye on Doveflight. *She could do anything to us. She could murder us right here, and no one would know.* Willowstar trembled at the thought.

❧ ♨[Galespirit sighed. There's no time for this. I need to tell the other Clans our mission...
He dipped his head apologetically to Spadekit, then grabbed her and galloped at full speed back to camp.
He burst through the entrance and immediately saw Doveflight. He had to stop himself from growling.
Padding cautiously up to them, he put Spadekit down gently. Feathertail came running out as soon as she scented Doveflight. Galespirit looked at her, then back down at the kit. Feathertail nodded and whisked the kit away to the nursery, murmuring to the guarding queens to take care of the small she-kit.]
Turning to Doveflight, Galespirit said, "I'd like to ask why you've done these things, but I think everyone knows why. I pray to StarClan you have no recollection of the horrors you've committed this night...but moving on. We shall announce our plan at the gathering. And we can't leave a camp unguarded with an infected cat, now can we?
So. I apologize in advance."
[He dipped his head, eyes closed. Then, suddenly, he flew forward and slammed the queen's head, once again, into the ground, rendering her unconcious. He let out a soft sigh.]
"Duskpaw? Where's Duskpaw? I need your services," he called.
Turning to Willowstar, he said quickly, "Warriors attending the gathering. Along with you and me, I believe Emberpaw and his mentor, Windtail, Sweetmoon, and Owltalon should definitely come. Who else? We need to hurry-we're late."
[Dipping his head apologetically again to his leader for rushing her, Galespirit glanced around anxiously. He felt the pressure of everyone depedning upon him and Willowstar.]

(Ok well Icepaw really has almost nothing to do with this so it's all good!)
[Icepaw padded around camp calmly, unawear(Spelling?) of what was going on in the forest. She sighed and grabbed a small mouse from the pile. She set it down near her den and began to eat it calmly. She flicked her tail back and forth gently as she ate, watching everyone in the camp to see how everyone was. Icepaw sighed and then tried to think of something to do.]
Maybe after I finish my mouse I could go to the elder's den and see how their doing. I wouldn't want them to be feeling bad and not telling anyone. I'll go there next!
[Icepaw thought happily.]

They had trained for days out in the beautifully wild forest, sleeping under the stars. His mentor, Windtail, had said it was to make up for the long period of abandoning him. Emberpaw bashfully told him he needn't do so, but Windtail insisted.
They had finally returned after Windtail sheepishly said that it might be the day of the gathering, and they might be late. Emberpaw had scolded him for forgetting, and his mentor merely chuckled.
Emberpaw's good mood was shattered when he saw a bloody and unconcious Doveflight upon the ground, and cats gathering around Galespirit and Willowstar.]
Racing up to them, he cried out anxiously, "What happened?!"
