"Uhmmm..." Gouki said as the little girl suddenly spammed him with questions. He wasn't very good at the whole crying thing it turned out but he did his best to answer. "She left a little while ago and she went to the market with Kyoji. They left me here because I am brave and strong so you don't have to worry about anything you here. Before you know it they will return. That is what they told me."

Ayaka looked down at the sheets wrapped around her. She blinked rapidly, trying not to cry. "You won't leave us will you Gouki-san?" She asked with some more sniffles. She had accepted that her mother and Kyoji were gone and no knowledge was known about them and where they were. She wrapped her arms around his arm and held him tight.

"Yeah I am here with you and Mara. Nothing is going to happen to either of you and as soon as your mother and Kyoji return We can all go for a walk together out of town. So don't worry Ayaka for I won't let anything happen to either of you." Gouki said softly as his hand moved from her head to one of the hands that held his arm tightly and patted it. It never ceased to see the comparison of hand sizes to Gouki even now as he did his best to comfort poor little Ayaka.

Kyoji nodded and smiled. "That seems like a good idea." He said. "If you finish quickly you can head back to the Inn if you want." He said, not wanting to leave the others hanging for too much longer. Kyoji returned to his browsing, looking diligently through the various things around, turning over loose scrolls, pieces of what he suspected was the wall of a house, and other bits and pieces of miscellaneous items.

Ain silently moved from his perch, taking up a position in the street that blocked Kyoji from returning to the inn. From there he continued to watch.

Ayaka opened her eyes and looked at Gouki's hands over her own. It was an interesting sight. She smiled up at him and nodded. "Okay Gouki." She said softly. She tried to look around Gouki to see where Mara was. "Mara, is she awake?" Ayaka asked suddenly excited. She wanted to play with her now that she was awake and not going back to sleep any time soon.
Cho nodded to Kyoji, and taking her money purse tightly in her hand and with a wave she jogged off to the stand to look for some food they could take along with them. Arriving at the place she began to browse though the fruits and vegetables, as well as other dried foods they could possibly use and take along.

"I'm afraid she is asleep at the moment. Getting as much rest as possible is very important for our trip Ayaka. I would suggest you try to sleep a little more but I can't make you do so if you really don't want to." Gouki said as he squeezed her hand gently. "After all it will be a long trip and who knows when we will have sift beds till then."

"Mom and I are use to all of that though." She said shortly and looked down at the white bed beneath her. "This, this was nice for one night, but sometimes when you sleep in a bed it's just too soft." She said jumping slightly on the springs of the bed. "I enjoyed staying here, it was nice to sleep on this bed, but it was too soft, you know." She said looking from the white sheets up to Gouki. "Oh I just couldn't go to sleep. My mommy always sings me a song before I go to sleep. She's not here." Ayaka said checking the room again. "And you don't know the song, do you?" She asked looking up at Gouki.

"Th-the song to help you sleep?" Gouki asked a little surprise. He didn't realize that some kids required some kind of lyrical accompaniment to sleep and wondered if Ayaka was pulling his leg. "No I don't know what somg you are talking about. Maybe if you hum the melody a little I might have heard it in my travels though. Just try not to wake Mara if you can okay?"

"But mamma always sings it for me." Ayaka retorted. "I've never sung it. It's kind of slow, and it has a special flow to it." She said looking down at her hands as she tried to remember it. She tried a few attempts at humming the song, but would immediately afterward she would shake her head. "No, that's not it." She said, obviously disappointed. "Do you know the song?" She asked looking up at Gouki.

Gouki shook his head slowly. "I am afraid I don't remember that song in all of my travels. If I could sing it for you to make you fall asleep better I would. Maybe later on your mother can teach to to me while we are on the road out of here."
Gouki pondered for a moment because as he knew an energetic girl could raise a ruckus easy enough and he wanted to let Mara sleep a little longer. "How about I tell you some of the things I have seen while traveling? If you promise to be a good girl and not get all excited then can start anytime you are ready." Gouki said quietly to Ayaka.

Ayaka was already excited, well excited after the initial disappointment of Gouki not knowing the song her mother sang. It made her miss her mother all that much more. But when the topic was changed to story time she began to grow excited again. "Have you been traveling your whole life? How long have you been traveling with Mara? Where have you been? What is your favorite place?" She asked, her voice barely being constrained in a loud whisper.

Kyoji was on the verge of going to another stand when he saw the edge of a long stick. Turning over a few objects, he found it to be the perfect length for a fishing pole and bent it slightly. "This'll do just fine... Excuse me sir, but do you have any line or string?" He inquired.
A man who had been hidden amongst his goods popped his head up and nodded. "A fishing pole, eh?" The man said after looking at the pole that Kyoji had retrieved. "Most usually just buy the line and find something to make a pole out of. But someone like you willing to look for a quality pole comes along so often. Must be in a hurry." He commented, pulling a ball of line out. and handing it to Kyoji to examine.
"Just have places to go." Kyoji said noncommittally before handing the man a bag of coins. The man gave a surprised look at the amount of coins Kyoji had given him, but by the time he looked up Kyoji had already been making his way to the stand where Cho had moved to to buy food.

Cho had a small pile of things held in her arms by the time Kyoji joined her. Some of the things were packaged and they were items which they could carry along preserved and then used later when they were ready. Other items she held were a variety of brightly colored fruits and vegetables. "Hey there Kyoji." She said brightly as he approached, "Did you find what you were looking for?" She asked looking up at him with a kind smile.

Kyoji smiled. "Yeah, I got everything I needed." He said pulling the line and pole out for his fishing rod. "Have you got everything that you wanted to get?" He asked her, pleasantly.
