Ugh I was hoping to avoid the leg cramps this go around, but not so lucky. I'm hoping upping my v8 and orange juice intake cuts back on them.

lunashock heart Glad to hear an update from you monkey and very glad to hear you and baby are doing well. Ugh I was hoping to avoid the leg cramps this go around, but not so lucky. I'm hoping upping my v8 and orange juice intake cuts back on them. dont forget calcium intake (i do tums =P) and leg streches! They save me 3nodding and sometimes drinking more water helps .. i know because if i dont drink enough water every muscle in my body cramps and hurts and my back spasms. Good luck and omg i just love that pic in your sig! im looking into getting a 3d u/s done ..but the closest one is like 40+ miles from me crying good luck with everything!

Hey Monkey! <3
Glad to hear the little guy is doing well. Up until the later part of my second trimester, I hadn't gained more then five pounds either. But now I'm finally up about 20, so they've been much happier with me lately. xp

Pirate Dirge Hey Monkey! <3
Glad to hear the little guy is doing well. Up until the later part of my second trimester, I hadn't gained more then five pounds either. But now I'm finally up about 20, so they've been much happier with me lately. xp eek i still cant believe how close you are! baby soon >.< hehe... yeah i think ive gained like 2 lbs this week ..well my home scale says so but i lost 1 last week .. so thats 1 lb in 2 weeks ..@_@ so many #'s lol. I'm sick of them sending me to the nutritionist! the baby is doing awesome so who cares if im not gaining 1-1.5lbs a week!!(<<>>ok end of mini rant)did you have alot of swelling? i am so swollen Dx my toes look like snack sausages xDDDDi think maybe its just from being on my feet 24-7 o.O;;? anywho its so cool i cant wait to see pics of that adorable baby!

I've had a little swelling here or there, but I've been really lucky in not having to be on my feet much. Now with the next one, I won't luck out like that, so I guess I'd better enjoy being able to lay down when I want to. Hehe.
Yeah, it's crazy how fast it's gone. It's about time to change my signature again. eek
And hey, as long as that baby is healthy, there's no reason to rag on the weight. Because these days, weight gain is not the only tool they have to determine if proper growth is occuring.

Pirate- Can't wait to see baby pictures of your little one. ^_^ So close!!
Anyways, now I'm well aware its normal to have cravings. Even somewhat strange ones. But here's my dilemma: the past week my little one has me craving horrid foods! Not horrid taste, but just horrid junk. Cheetos, Poptarts, Fruit loops, brownies, etc.
I'm not a big junk food person, was never really my thing. But whenever I try to eat things I know are healthy for him: eggs, chicken, pears, apples, etc. It makes me so unbelievably sick that its like going through morning sickness all over again. But the minute I eat a Cheeto, everything is just perky.
My older sister says its normal. She ate a lot of cake donuts and DQ blizzards when she was pregnant with my oldest nephew, but she was still able to eat other things too.
I'm gonna ask my doctor about it on Monday when I see her, but its just flipping ridiculous!

Well, starches are easier on the tummy. So in a way, I can see why the Cheetos would be soothing if it starts acting up. Hehe.
In early second trimester for me, it was Blizzards and anything with that fake nacho cheese stuff--which I normally find processed cheese DISGUSTING and I know it has no nutritional value whatsoever. I always wanted it. Then I moved into a doughnut phase. I just HAD to have creme-filled Krispy Kremes almost daily for about two weeks. And for the last two months, it's been anything with chocolate. My first tri was probably the only time I was having purely healthy cravings because if I tried to eat anything too sugary, I'd get really sick, like you're experiencing with the healthy foods. So for the first time in my life, I wasn't craving sugar, but avoiding it like the plague until around month four when I suddenly had sugar tolerance again. And then the cravings for it have just increased from there to the point that I want more sugary things now then I'm used to wanting in the past.
Pregnancy will make you crave some crazy things...even things that usually make you sick. Lately, I've been eating yogurt which normally is something I'll only eat if I'm on antibiotics to avoid a yeast infection. It bothers me so much that my face just contorts because I hate the texture of it. [EWWW gonk ] But about a month ago, guess who suddenly wants yogurt on a regular basis and is *almost* enjoying it? Chris just watches me like I've been replaced by a pod because he's seen me have to eat yogurt in the past and he knows how I usually react to it.
As long as you're taking your prenatal and you're trying to eat the best you can, don't feel too badly about it. It's likely your cravings will change overnight and suddenly you'll be wanting a whole new set of things in a few weeks' time anyway. 3nodding
Oh, there will be lots of pictures. Now if he'd just hurry his butt up and get here. <3

had my 27 wk appointment yesterday. Baby is doing good and *gasp* actually measuring right and i gained 4 lbs in 2 and a half weeks! gonk They were happy with that mad more than likelyits partially muscle due to all the excersice and what not plus the whole chest growth thing xd but eh i still feel prettty...you know for looking like im smuggling a holiday ham under my shirt rofl ive only had some spotting so im still considered "high risk" but they said it shouldnt be a biggie i just have to keep up the every 2 weeks stuff and soon itll switch to every week. OOOh and i had that glucose test gonk i have to admit tis better than it use tobe witheric it was a tiny cup of this thick sludgey stuff this time 'round it was like orange pop but all the sugar made me ill i was sweating it for a while because if you throw up... you come back the next day to try again...i made it lol! Baby is already head down...what can i say he's eager. He's been that way since about 24 weeks which is unusual but hey its not bad. How's everyone else doing?

Pirate- yeah that sounds similar to what everyone else is telling me too. sweatdrop I guess as long as I'm careful about it that it'll be okay......heh, I love yogurt. That's all I ate mostly for my 4th month. But I havent eaten Cheetos for years, and suddenly I needed Cheetos Puffs. I'm eagerly awaiting my next wave of cravings and hoping that its better than all this junk food.
Okey Dokey, I had my 21 wk appt yesterday.
Well, I had it after my emergency room visit. My hert has been having painful, rapid palpatations over the past few days, and it got bad enough on Monday (yesterday) that I was rushed to the ER about 4 hours before my OB appointment. Unfortunately or fortunately, they couldn't find a reason for why my heart is doing this. So they got it calmed down and sent me upstairs for my OB appt.
Well, I get up there and she check both mine and the baby's heartbeat again, and everything's still fine. His heatbeat went down to 138 but she said its still okay.
Get this though, my doctor believes that my heart problems are caused by the added stress from work and from my calcium problems. So she wants me to quit my job as soon as I can, and she's also putting me on a halter monitor. Its a portable monitor that monitors my heart rthyms and I have to keep a log about what is or isn't happening during times it starts pounding erractically.
But other than that we're both happy and healthy. I finally gained 3 lbs. This is the first time I've gained weight for the pregnancy, I kept losing weight. I lost almost 10 pounds and now I finally gained 3. So I feel better about that.
Next month around the 5th I'll be getting my Rh shot, which I did find out even if AJ's blood type is A- that her recommendation is still to get the shot just to be on the safe side. And since AJ is terrified of needles, he's reluctant to get re-tested to find out his blood type. So I figure it can't hurt anything to go ahead and get the shot. I don't mind. And then at the end of June I'll be getting the gluclose tests.....or maybe that's switched....maybe it at the beginning of the month is the gluclose and at the end is the shot......Hmmm, I should call and find out.

38 week check up is done. whee
My BP was a bit elevated again so I had to do a urine catch. Man, that is darn near impossible when you're as big as I am. So hopefully I won't get a phone call saying I need to come in for more testing. It would be a shame that I made it this far only to have complications now. And I'd like to argue that when something the size of this little guy is blocking some of the blood flow, it's bound to go up. But we'll see.
Heart rate is still in the 140s, and he's wiggling like there's no tomorrow. He may not be able to kick like he used to, but he sure figures out how to move anyway. Fundal height was 40 cm. Based on that and feeling him a bit, she ventured a guess he's around 8 pounds. So a very good sized boy, but I was guessing on my own he was at the very least 7. And based on family history, I was my mother's smallest at 7 lb 2 oz, while my brother was her biggest at 8 lb 9 oz, I already knew what to expect. I'm not worried he'll be too big to deliver and I'm excited to see what size he actually is.
She did point out that she loves to joke that if the CNM, the OB, the radiologist and the new mom all put their size guesses into a hat, the mother is almost always the closest to the size the baby really is.
Let's see, what else? Oh, Strep B was negative: no antibiotics for me during delivery.
My visit today was pretty short and if I make it that long, I have another appointment next Thursday. I'm sorta hoping I won't need it, but you never know.
And before I forget, Happy Mother's day to all the Mommies in Training! heart heart heart
heart As well as the ones going through this their second time. 4laugh

Well it's offical, I am a proud mommy of a 6 pound 9 1/2 ounce baby boy!! Ethan Alexander was born Tuesday May 9th at 10:58am. We both had quite a ride!!
Went in at 6pm Monday night as scheduled to begin my induction. They gave me Cervadil and said they would leave it for 12 hours and then Susan, my midwife, would be there in the morning to break my water and start Pitocin. Well that was the plan at least! After having the Cervadil in for 1/2 hour I went into labor. After having the Cervadil in for 2 1/2 hours they decided to take it out because I was having contractions one right on top of the other (at one point I had 7 contractions on the screen at once). They hoped it would slow everything down so we could stick to the plan but no such luck. By 2am I was in so much pain with no breaks between contractions I broke down and got an epidural. After the epidural I was able to get some rest but at about 5am I started having really bad back labor. At 7am Susan came in and found that I was fully dialated and ready to go so she had me start pushing. Well I pushed on and off for a good couple hours but Ethan started going into distress. Everytime I pushed his heart rate would drop way down but he wouldn't move any so the choice was made to do a c-section and at 10:58am it was all over and we had a baby boy! After a few days in the hospital we got to come home today!
Hopefully I'll get some pictures up in the next few days! Dirge it's your turn now!! 3nodding
