Ephlas grimaced, but his head was turned and Hashmal could not see it. Raedou, however, would have been able to.
But Ephlas made no sound, and walked over to the elevator. Why they had to go down, to go up again, to get out, made no sense whatsoever, but Ephlas was tired of using logic for the moment. He just wanted out of those caves... those oddly stifling caves, which put his magical awareness into a stupor.

Clem hurried onto the elevator, followed by Hashmal.
"It will be good, to see the sky again." The dark Knight sighed before clamping her had on the keystone, causing the elevator to shoot up.
---
Leonard grinned, "I haven't the foggiest idea. I told him to leave the Academy. Where he went is none of my business." Leonard deliberately withheld that he could know in an instant, being an archmage capable of scrying. "And why would I betray my friend? You may be assassins after those children, in which case, I will not allow either of you to leave this tower alive... to kill children is the worst sort of crime I can imagine..."

Myrrelda.
Just remember that one word, for it shall be the most important word in the history of everything before history began, and everything after history ends.
Myrrelda was in Eopia. She had been actively searching for her betrothed, ever since he had entered the country. She could feel his presence nearby, although faintly at all.
He was somewhere in the city, in Utopia. Myrrelda grinned when she thought of meeting him, after eight years or so... she forgot how long exactly.

"Killing children?" The worst crime? Farfarello thought, genuinely not knowing how this could be wrong. They just grow up anyway... "Would they send a non-magic elf and a bound demon to kill anyone? Much less children?"
((Omg xd ))

"Rantuinne, twelve years ago: The royal family had two heirs. If the king were to fall, they'd take the throne. House Ores was the next in the royal line, being the queen's house. Two assassins, an elf and an emissary from Baelta, were not whom they appeared. The Vral Family was slaughtered in their sleep. The current ruler caught them fleeing. Valthere cut them down in two sword strokes. The assassins were two non-magi, who had no combat skills whatsoever. You are more than qualified just by having the demon." Leonard stated, the cold sharpness of truth in his voice.

Ephlas, Raedou, and Clem probably did not look forward to the sunlight as very much as Hashmal did. As they ascended, Ephlas had the presence of mind to ask, "Hashmal. Would you like a magical visor to shield your eyes from the harshest of the light - at least until you become used to the brightness?"

"No, magi. I must have the light assault me immediately. It is the proper way for a Draon to adjust to the light." Hashmal said, the glowing eyes under the helmet blinking, "It is not nearly as unpleasant for me as you may believe."

((Beyond the Beyond is an awesome game. By the way, K-JAG, Bael has given control of the powerful Magi to the Ganzi (Telgove, right?) for use. He should use it to kill all the other Magi, so that the siege on ... Dela? ... can finish.))
Ephlas shrugged. He didn't much care if the Draon didn't.

((Where the hell is Dela? I've never heard of that place before, and now all the sudden everybody's talking about it... I beg you to enlighten me! gonk
PS... I'm "dead" in my RP, so nobody wait up for me in RftS; post to your heart's content.))
Perrault took a step back, shocked by what he was hearing.
"Assassins?!" he scowled, "Did you just call us... assassins?!"
Perrault hated assassins. After all, it was an assassin that killed his parents ten years ago.
"Now, see here!" he yelled, making quite a scene, "My father was Nav Terris, the greatest alchemist that ever lived!! He invented the curser and the arcane shield, and contributed much to your academy! I am his son, Perrault Bethe Terris, and I am not a filthy assassin!"
He thought for a bit. If it was a prince that ran away with the hooded boy and his friend, then he would have surely escaped to his castle, where their safety would be guaranteed.
He turned around and walked towards the academy doors.
"Far, let's go!" he growled, as he turned around to face the Archmagus.
"You too, Leonard! You're coming with us!"
-----
Raedou smiled. It was good to see that the rivalry between Ephlas and Hashmal was cooling down at a fantastic rate.
Soon enough, the elevator stopped at a the end of a narrow cavern, where bright sunlight shone in the distance.
"My prince Callisto...", Raedou whispered to himself, "We are almost there... Just a bit longer."
He then limped towards the light, excited to be out of the mines.
"Strange," he mumbled, "This is how I always imagined my death to be..."
Raedou was 57 years old, and he had started thinking about death not too long ago.
As the light got closer, Raedou stopped and turned around.
"Now," he said, "when we reach Eopia, we must find Perrault and Farfarello. I am entrusting this task to Clem."
He looked down at the biologist and nodded his head.
"After you turn in your samples, you must use any resources you may have to seek out Perrault and our demon friend. Understood?"
He then looked at Ephlas.
"Ephlas and I will search for the prince and his attendant." he said quietly.
Finally, he turned to Hashmal.
"If you wish to journey with us, Hashmal..." he said, "You are more than welcome, if nobody has any objections, of course."

((Dela is the city that Baelta is attacking - it's the only one between Baelta and the capital of Favraes - Fara. Yeah, I kind of had to think up those names quickly, so if anybody has any better ideas, please share. The kingdom names, and character names are static (of course xD) but as for cities, I might take good suggestions. Also, SPI, I have been meaning to ask - what is the capital of Rantuinne called? I have yet to name it, and thought you might like the honors.
Also, I will be gone for most of today. So - *throws a ball of smoke down and disappears* - goodbye!))

Hashmal nodded, "And, Raedou, You should have this..." The Dark Knight removed one of the gems from the box, offering the small shimmering gem to the Ganzi, "It's the least I can offer for your aid, as well as that of your friends."
Clem ran out of the mines, "Yes! finally! fresh air! You guys need to come with me to the Academy... We can find anyone there instantly. As a ranking biologist, I have access to the entire facility, and I'm allowed to bring guests..."
---
Leonard replied, in all seriousness, "You have a demon in my city... It would be an insult to my intelligence NOT to follow you."

Raedou smiled and accepted the gem.
"Thank you, Hashmal. I will treasure this... It's not every day that you are given one of the legendary Arcanite Gems."
He then bowed, and turned around to follow Clem out of the mines. The sun was indeed bright, and the air was fresh. It almost brought tears to Raedou's eyes to see the sky again... This was what a day in the Gravity Mines would do to you.
"Very well, let us go to Eopia and find the prince." he said confidently as he started down the grassy mountain path.
He could see Eopia over the horizon, and it was the most beautiful city he had ever seen... besides Ganzidos, of course. No city or village could compare to the radiant mushrooms and the light shining in the caverns under the Rantuinne sands...
Raedou coughed a bit and continued down the path, hoping to reach Eopia before sunset.
-----
Ralendine watched from his castle balcony as Helenne prepared the armies to defend Dela. He decided that he would join her on the battlefield, using his powerful sword, the Firebrand, which he inherited from his father Melchis, the late Duke of Elmire.
He walked into his bedroom and opened his closet, revealing his sword, the Firebrand itself... It's seven-branched blade glowed with vivid reds and yellows.
He picked up the sword and held it up to the window, and it suddenly burst into flames. These flames wrapped themselves around the duke's arm, and spread throughout his body... Soon, Ralendine, the Duke of Elmire, would be ready to walk the battlefield once again.

Cal brushed off the front of her cloak and looked back at the academy. "I guess soething's going on that we aren't allowed to see..." she said. Jaeto shrugged. "Meh. Let's go back to the Inn. Maybe Raedou's shown up and somebody's seem him." Cal nodded and they walked down the street to the Inn.
