My Mum got 2nd place [out of 120 something] in a CAD [computer aid design] competition, and it's been years since she's done any CAD, she does more G.I.S [Geographic Information System] now. But she won a nifty shirt, but if she had known there was going to be a competition she would have studied a bit and easily won first place. And with that comes any autodesk software you want. [[Autodesk software = 3,000$ at the least]]
Next time, she'll take 'em down. X]
But we're hoping that the news gets back to her old work, the technicians there were uber a** wholes to her back in the day.

[[ Jim is one of the awesome guys my Mother works with. ]]
Former Marine fights back from broken body
November 6, 2008
Eight years ago Jim Halley's life changed forever.
The former Marine was involved in a life-threatening parachute accident at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. His broken body needed nearly 10 hours of surgery to put back together.
Compared to what the 29-year-old Jupiter resident went through, this weekend's Ameriprise Financial Miami Man Triathlon at Larry and Penny Thompson Park should be a breeze.
More than 2,000 triathletes will compete in the half ironman or international distance triathlons or half ironman duathlon on Sunday.
Halley already has completed 23 triathlon and endurance races since his miraculous recovery. He plans to compete in the international distance race (a .6-mile swim, 22-mile bike and 6.6-mile run).
His goal is to finish sub 2 hours and 10 minutes, an impressive feat considering eight years ago that swimming, biking and running were the farthest thing from his mind when he woke up in a hospital bed. He listened intently as neurosurgeons told him "losing the use of your legs isn't the end of the world ... you can still live a happy life from a wheelchair."
On July 28, 2000, Halley said he found an inner strength people talk about when faced with a near-death experience. The 3 ½ -second drop from mid-air after his parachute collapsed, equivalent to falling off a 12-story building, shattered his spine in several places.
There were no guarantees after the surgery at the East Carolina University Trauma Center where doctors used 12 rods, 14 screws and four hooks in his spine to hold seven vertebrae together.
"I am held together like a machine," Halley said. "They put a small car worth of metal inside my body."
A week after the surgery, his doctor talked about recovery goal times. Halley's limitations weren't based on potential damage to his body but rather the pain he would experience.
"He explained that I had enough hardware holding me together that walking, running or even a fall wouldn't re-injure my spine," Halley said. "My limitations were 100 percent based on pain. He said his experiences showed it would take months to learn to walk again. He predicted I would never run again."
Halley saw that as a challenge. "You're only limited by what you believe," he said.
"Maybe it's because I am a stubborn Marine, a guy, Irish or just too ignorant to know better, but my logic was that if I couldn't do any more damage to my spine and pain was my only limitation I might as well get back out there," Halley said.
And that's just what Halley did with the help of his girlfriend, Kristin, and friends including elite triathlete Linda Neary Robb and her cyclist husband, George, who own Running Sports in Juno Beach, a running and triathlon specialty store close to where Halley lives.
A week after using a walker, he was walking on his own. Five weeks after the surgery he decided to lace up his running shoes.
"I ran for the most painful 20 feet of my life, my back was on fire ... it seemed like 20 miles," Halley remembered.
Five months later, he ran a 5K in 21 minutes and 27 seconds. He started upping his mileage and events since he started racing in April 2007. Nearly three years after the accident he also jumped from a plane again. "I didn't want it to beat me," he said. "That was 10 times more scarier than the accident."
This season he placed in his age group in all three Multirace.com Singer Island Trilogy races and won the 25-29 age group series award. If Neary Robb has her way, Halley will be tackling a full Ironman in the future.
He will run the Marathon of the Palm Beaches half marathon in December and make his marathon debut in February at the Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon.
"Each morning I wake up with pain I will never be able to describe," Halley said. "Every day I take more ibuprofen than I do water. Every night I struggle to find a position comfortable for my back.
"But most importantly, each day I train. I swim, bike or run and get a little stronger, a little better. One day I will be back to where I was before. I'm not stronger or more courageous than any other athlete out there. I was just given this extraordinary opportunity to demonstrate those qualities and a little Irish luck."
Jim

so 2 years ago my school wrote and put on a short play for Fall Theater X called "What I Wanted to Say." I was a freshman, I went to see it, a girl in my grade who is now one of my bestest friends was in it.
since then, it's been published and circulated all over the United States and Canada.
members of the drama department and former cast members have been planning to see a performance of the show in Southern Illinois for months. I'm a junior and this Fall Theater XII is my first time doing theater at my school (but I have a lead, go figure).
Today our drama director and also my religion teacher asked me in the middle of class if I would like to go with, it's tomorrow.
I am ECSTATIC!!! eek dramallama wahmbulance cheese_whine heart

We had the "beep test" today in gym. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's when you run back and forth accross the gyn as much as you can, no stopping really and you go until you can't and then you drop out and walk it off or whatever... ANYWAYS, or class did girls and buys at the same time and when it was down to me and these two other guys the "holy s**t, how's she doing that?" Expressions started showing up on people's faces. xD
And I out lasted both boys. >.> I'm not even an active person... it was absoluatlly random.

'twas flirting with a girl today. First just poking each other's neck, then she bit my shoulder.. then she bit my neck while there were about 10 people around (none of them noticed?!). Traded more bites and licks.. and somehow we ended up kissing quite a bit.
I'm thoroughly confused, but at least I don't want to cut today, eh?
