I'm sure you are, Nara..
And the only point I've really had to disagree with UO on is that while it claims that the hosts of Jenova were under Sephiroth's control, the game made every effort to indicate that it was Jenova controlling Sephiroth...Sephiroth was physically stronger, yes, but Jenova, being a parasite, was more than capable of infecting the mind and bending it to her (or it's, rather..as parasites really don't have gender..) will.

Why would JENOVA play with his mind? Why not just take control and send him up to the Northern Crater with the rest of the clones? JENOVA is nothing more than a parasite, a viral animal. It has no real intentions beyond bringing destruction. It certainly does not, as Sephiroth desires, want to create a shiny new world on a new planet. All JENOVA wants is to propogate by spreading its cells and bringing destruction. If JENOVA is the one in charge, as it were, why would Sephiroth and his mimiced forms be under the delusion that JENOVA was a Cetra? A way to control Sephy? He couldn't just be controlled by simple will power but had to be tricked? And what about the SHM? JENOVA can only mimic, it has no mind or imagination to create such individuals. Was it using Sephy's personality to make them, or was it Sephy's subconcious that was making them? Why are they referred to as Sephy's avatars, manifestations of his will and/or Sephiroth's larval forms, both in the movie and Reunion Files? Why not JENOVA's will? Reunion Files is pretty explicit about it being Sephy's will that motivates the SHM. The whole point of the Reunion's are not to bring JENOVA back together, but to bring back Sephiroth. He doesn't even need or use all the cells, just enough to bring himself back. In AC Kadaj says "We need Mother's power. The Reunion is coming and we need her." and "Until we recieve her cells we can't be whole again." That, to me, does not imply they will be making JENOVA whole... JENOVA is just a means to a quicker ends. The Reunion is to bring back Sephiroth. Sephy says: "The ghosts of Geostigma victims. They will rejoin the Lifestream and circle the planet... and in time corrode it. What I want, Cloud, is to sail the darkness of the cosmos with this planet as my vessel, just as my mother did long ago. Then one day we'll find a new planet, and on its soil we'll create a shining new future." Doesn't exactly sound like Mommy's in charge. Like his Mother before him? Well, sounds like he views JENOVA as being in the past, as being dead. JENOVA is not even included in his new plan.

He thought Cloud was a failure because his mind had been broken by the infusion of Jenova, while the other members of SOLDIER retained their minds. And then later it reverted so that Cloud was the only one who kept his mind, while all the others failed. As for Nanaki, I never payed him much heed. Plus, if she did take control of Cloud's mind, it would have been much more difficult to get the Black Materia in the first place. And he believed what was written in the reports, which were what said Jenova was a Cetra. Having not met one, he had no reason to believe otherwise. Referred to as larval forms, but not avatars or manifestations of will. Dunno what translation you're going on. I've watched both Japanese and English. And Jenova knew how effective Sephiroth had been, and how close he had come to succeeding. And hosts of Jenova are capable of altering their physical appearance (as quoted from game), so she had more than a means of making hosts become alterations of Sephiroth. And if Jenova had no mind or imagination, how did she (as paraphrased from Gast's interviews with Ifalna) have the intelligence to take on the guise of a Cetra, gain their trust in order to enter their dwelling, and then attack, instead of just attacking outright? And the reason why they list it as Sephiroth's will and whatnot in those things instead of Jenova's is the very reason I had asked for when the UO was made. Having been years since they had worked on anything with the world, they did not delve back into the game itself, but rather went with what could be taken from their memory of the game. What purpose would it surve for Sephiroth to bring Jenova's entire body if he simply needed to heal the wound in his stomach? And as for what Kadaj said, remember that he also said that it was more than likely Jenova's plan to turn him into another Sephiroth, and that he hated Sephiroth because he was her favorite, but he would do it anyway for her. In essence, Jenova intended to convert all three into Sephiroths, so that she would have three times the power working for her that she had the first time, when she had come so close, thus ensuring victory.
