((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula got it perfect, and felt that resonating note again. She looked down at the paper. It was the same. She laughed. She had gotten it. She was sure she'd get the rest of them more easily. It felt like they were coming easier and easier. All right... The next one, then. The sheep seal... Also known as the ram seal. She noticed it was almost like the tiger seal, except you just held the positions differently. She put her fingers in what she expected to be the correct placement, and tried to put the seal together.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)]. DC: 12 Total Seals Learned: 3/12 **No Hp or Cp cost. Rewards: +1 Intelligence, +3 Concentration (one-time only)

((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula missed the sheep... Darn it. She was still enjoying this, though. She was having a lot of fun. Plus, she'd be ahead of all her classmates, and could practice her shuriken more while they were wasting time learning handseals. She grinned at that thought and continued with renewed vigor. She was going to be the top of the class, if only for a little bit... But that would be all she would need. Everyone looking up to her... The small outcast. She would be the top dog, despite being the shortest of them all... Hated since her family had come here... At first for being different... And then for being the only child who had a house... But no more. She was going to be the best shinobi... And she wouldn't do it for revenge. She was going to have fun, and damn the other kids who wouldn't let her play with them. She wasn't going to let them play with the grown-up ninja.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula got so excited she forgot to focus on her handseals. She laughed at her side-tracked train of thought. Well, then. I suppose we know why I became a shinobi... She smiled as she tried Sheep again. Right hand... Left hand... Put them together.... Besides... Those kids are all going to be civilians... They're all going to grow up and take the trash out... They will be the maids, the servants... Maybe I'll have to hire one to take care of my house. She loved the irony in that thought. The house they had shunned... being forced to stay there day in and day out, working for the 'demon' they wouldn't let play in their games...Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) But then what happens? Right now, while she's having fun being a ninja... They're out there playing ninja... They're using wooden shuriken, wooden kunai, and using old sheets as cloaks. Here she was... A pouch of shuriken that she was deadly with... A scroll that contains almost everything she needs to become a true ninja... She was well on her way... And they weren't ever going to get anywhere. Ever. She smiled and tried the handseal once more. There wasn't anything more to do than try her very hardest to enjoy what she was doing while they all droned on for the rest of their lives, monotonously.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula looked down. Beautiful. And the note was resounding through her head so well that she realized it wasn't a single note... It was a harmony... She closed her eyes and listened to it for a moment before she pried her fingers from each other, the song dying away. She opened her eyes slowly, taking a deep breath and looking back down at the scroll. She looked through them. Rat. That was the next logical step. One hand was just like Ram, and it shouldn't take too much to figure it all out. She held her left hand in the familiar shape of tiger, and then tried to curl her right hand over her fingers to match the picture.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) She looked down at her hands in disbelief, turning her head between the scroll and the seal multiple times before she let out the breath she had been unconsciously holding. She had done it... And it was indistinguishable from the picture. Once again... Harmony... A different harmony, true, but it was still a resonating note that tore through her body like blue flames. It was insane. She got this one so easily... Almost without trying. This can't be getting easy for me, too... If everything came easy to her, then there wasn't much point in playing the game, was there? Although, rubbing everyone else's noses in it didn't sound like a very fun idea, either... Looking down, she reviewed the sheet. Obviously, the next step was Serpent. It took the right hand of Rat and mirrored it with the left hand. the right hand was on the outside, she noted... She weaved her fingers together, trying to form the seal as best she could.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Without looking at her hands, she knew she had gotten it right. She wasn't hallucinating... Those sounds... They were identifying what she was doing... Somehow she was hearing and feeling what she was doing and how it was turning out... She looked back to her hands. She had it. Serpent... She shook her head softly... Now she had something to worry about... She was starting to believe that the sounds she was hearing were somehow telling her how her performance was? No... They must be guiding me... She knew it was true as soon as she said it... How else could she peg three simultaneous bulls-eyes while blindfolded? That was the only explanation. The sounds weren't results of her actions, they were helping her to take those courses of action. She looked down and heard another note as she looked at the picture of the Dragon seal... And it was the logical choice, even if her method of choosing it wasn't completely rational. It used the same interlaced technique as the Snake seal. And so she attempted to put it together. Let's have at it, then.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) It wasn't as easy as the others, despite the fact that she had grown comfortable with most of its parts. She could hear that music guiding her. Each correct movement sound in perfect harmony, but mistakes shined bright as accidentals... As minor chords... Stressful... She was seeing things now... Great... She focused on the technique, though, letting that irrational musical light show guide her. Dragon... She kept muttering it over and over... It was her mantra... How funny... She was practicing focusing (what could be considered) mudra and she had just compared her thoughts to a mantra... She really was losing it. Ironies were almost hilarious to her now...Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) And she got all the notes sounding correctly. She realized there was a note for each individual part of the handseal... And when they were played together... When the seal was put together... It was a beautiful sound... The Dragon... It was majestic, it was proud, but it had one accidental that shouldn't have been there... A hidden sense of dread... The Dragon was hiding a vicious personality... She understood the complexities of the seal... What they symbolized... She looked back down to the scroll, eager to understand more. The next logical step --and the one the music played for-- was the Bird seal... It only required an easy transition from the dragon seal.It literally rolled right into it.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Horrible. Painful... The notes clashed... The entire thing fell apart. She ripped her hands apart to stop the ringing in her ears. She was growing more sensitive to the sounds... Which meant when she messed up, that it was all the more painful. She laughed, though. It meant that she was right about the sounds' purposes. They were there to guide her. She looked back at the picture, and heard the dim sounding of notes. Slowly she tried to build the chord. If she could succeed, it would mean that she had guaranteed --beyond a doubt-- that she wasn't crazy... Or that she was just crazy in a good way.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) And she had it perfect. The harmony was proud. Prouder than the Dragon, but it lacked the dread. It lacked the power, and it was more free-feeling. Of course. A bird can fly where it wants, proudly displaying itself to the world... But a Dragon? No. Never. A Dragon would be hunted down and forced to fight back in ways a bird could not. That's why the Dragon needed a weapon, and that's why it had dread in its music... It didn't like killing people, but it would fight for its life if it had to... The next seal... Horse... It was a hop and a skip away from the Bird seal. She tried to roll her hands into it, eager to hear the horse's story.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula heard the harmony of the Horse. It was low, earthy... It was as free as the Bird, but it was less proud... Or at least it wasn't so eager to display its pride. The notes had a gong-like resonance, and that lent it pride in that it was one of the only ones like that, and it felt that pride deep inside its heart, instead of wearing it on its sleeve (or its crest, as it were.) Lula nodded... That was about right... Just as she suspected form the Horse. The next seal was the Ox. And it was only two slides of the hands away form the horse. She couldn't wait to hear what the Ox's song sounded like... It had to be interesting.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) She heard a resounded pulse of the Gong.... The Ox was very robust. It was a very strong creature, but it was humbler than the others. The Ox's song spoke of hard labor to earn its praise, and not of freedom, but of coexistence. It was a very unique sound... It was like a gong played by a muted hammer. It was majestic in its simplicity. Lula respected that. She looked back to the scroll. She didn't even care how many more were left, she only cared what they sounded like. The next one had to be monkey. While it didn't necessarily flow from Ox, it was still the most compatible. She took her hands apart and tried to build the new chord.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) It wasn't that she'd gotten it wrong... It was that she didn't completely get it right. There were tons of notes that clashed, but an underlying sense of right about the whole thing. She eyed the paper and her mistakes stood out like a gleaming light. She tried to repair them, listening to the notes of the established chord... But it wasn't easy... She couldn't tell which notes were right and which ones were wrong... She shook her hands out and tried again from scratch.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Squirrely little thing, aren't ye? Lula grinned and had to shake her hands out. She picked up the scroll and studied the seal closely. She was going to get it right by dint of hard work. She grinned the whole time. She was almost done. She didn't care that she was working hard... This was as much a game or a concert as it was training. She set the scroll down and shook herself out. She was going to build the seal one note at a time. Alrighty, then... Let's see how squirrely ya feel after I catch ye. She closed her eyes and started to build the chord.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve.
