My name is External Penetration and I'm an alcoholic. Sorry, mixed up where I was. So you can obviously read my username. Nickname me whatever you want. I'm often called EP, Penny, or Pen.
Irl my name is Caitlin. I'm 17 (18 on july 31), just finished grade 12, and I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm going back for an optional year of high school to get my grades good enough for university. I decided a little late that I'm going to teach English in Japan, so I never bothered much with school. I figured I'd join this guild in hopes to at least learn some basic Japanese. At the moment I know nearly nothing, just a couple basic words that will never really be helpful.
Originally I was just interested in Japan for some of it's past/current fashions, but it's built up to more. Yes, I do like anime/manga, but that has nearly no influence over my reason's. My English teacher taught English in Japan for a few years, and it sounded really awesome. Ever since she told us that, no other career has popped into my mind that I would like to do.

Koncha. Boku wa Kiyoshi tte iunde. Nihongo wa amari wakaranai node yoroshiku.
I'm Kiyoshi, 16, college student, been actively trying to learn Japanese for a few months? I know some basic phrases and I can read the kana but not too many kanji yet. I have 3 different books (dummies japanese, japanese phrasebook and culture guide, dictionary) that I've been using to try to learn the language as well as a few sites online. I like anime/manga preferably of the comedy genre. Gender benders, yaoi/yuri, kemonomimis are "extras prefereds" as far as what I like to watch/read. I'm half Japanese, half African American. My mom was Japanese but she died when I was younger and "English is spoken all over the world so you don't have a need to learn her first language..." Yeah, sucks. So, here I am, trying to learn the language and culture of my mother on my own and maybe with the help of you fine folks. ^^

Konnichiwa mina-san. (Hello everyone.) Hajimemashite. Safire Angel desu. Dozo yoroshiku. (How do you do? I am Safire Angel. I'm pleased to met you.
I am 20 years old and I work in retail. (Never work in retail unless you're desperate. -__-') I have successfully graduated highschool, though the only foreign language they offered was spanish. I am Hispanic, but born in NY. I am fluent in both english and spanish, though i would gladly trade that to be able to speak such a beautiful and complex language as japanese. I love japanese language and culture, though I admit I am not all that great at the langugae. Anything relating to japan interests me. I became interested in japan after I read my first manga in my freshman year in high school, after that my interest in it has deepened. I have been trying to teach myself japanese for over 5 years now. Doesn't go to fast or stick well in your mind if you can't be sure weather you're saying the words right or not. sweatdrop I hope to be able to learn more on our mutual love for all things japanese, and to be good friend with everyone here. 4laugh Domo arigato gozaimasu, mina-san. (Everyone, thank you very much.)

I'm Nick (Niko in Japanese)... I have been studying japanese on my own not too long so im not great at it yet xp oh well. I have been interested always in different places. although my intrest in Japan was sparked through Manga/Anime. I'm currently a high school student at the age of 15. I like alot of mangas but I guess shounen, Mech, Adventure, Action, and Comedy type are more of what I read. The same goes for Anime. I guess thats all.

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I have dabbed a bit in Japanese, but I know very little. All I can really do is write all the hiragana/katakana and write like 7 kanji...I am hoping to learn more here before taking the Japanese course next year. I speak English and Spanish and am also hoping to one day speak Italian. My ethnicity it about three quarters Spanish and one quarter Mexican; I am very aware of accent marks when it comes to Spanish. I was born in California and am currently living in Oceanside, even though I don't really like the beach. My goal this summer is to finish reading Veronika Decide Morir, La Bruja de Portobello, and World War Z; hopefully I can start Hamlet and finish the Tempest as well. My favorite book is currently the Alchemist, my favorite play is currently Macbeth, my favorite writer is Konstantinos, and my favorite poet is E.A.P.. I own a few little kids books in Japanese and am hoping to someday be able to read them. Unlike some, the reason I grew interested in the Japanese language was not because of anime and manga. I was looking for a nice challenge and liked the writing system. Although I also liked Mandarin, it seemed a bit too difficult to even try learning...so I decided to try Japanese out. My sister was also learning it, so my learning it would be beneficial to both of us. It was nice to meet you all, I hope we get along well in the future.

Why do I feel like the odd one out? cry To tell you the truth, all that I know of Japan and similiar topics is that anime originated from there, and how to count to 10 (because my brother does karate)... But I'm eager to learn?? 3nodding
