((You guys are pathetic. I say that it looks more like a vulture due to the line in the 'A', but oh well))

Ted had basically holed himself away from everyone else. He really didn't know anyone, and he wanted to spend more time talking to Hideki. Only times he came out were to find an area where he could practice in privacy, and to eat/use the bathroom. He also didn't know where he fit in with everyone else. They seem to be much more experienced than him.

{Are you brooding yet again? I swear, you are worse than some women back from when I was still alive.}

You take that back. I am not as bad as those women. I at least brood about reasonable stuff.

{Like. What.}

Uuuh. Ask me again in a few hours. I'll have an answer.

{Figures.}

((Well, pbblt on you then, Magnavar. xd ))

Siber's eyes widened as everyone else appeared, as well. The room seemed to accommodate them all in its capacious spaces. He couldn't decide if these were all pleasant experiences or not; he was not prepared to integrate quite as much as he needed to to deal with all of the arrivals.
"I never saw in need to shoot me in the first place, but to each his own." He thought for a moment. "You weren't even the one who wanted to shoot me, were you? Silly me. It was you."
Siber eyed Josh warily. He had not been a hundred percent friendly the last time they had met; something to do with killing innocents, he was sure. Even though they weren't innocents, anyway; they just happened to have been on the Titan's Fists man's team. And something to do with being an a*****e, too. Yes, when Siber decided to be an a*****e, it usually made others less than friendly.
Siber grinned at the prospect, then let it fade as he rubbed at his scarred chin. These people didn't hesitate to give warnings, he remembered from the moonblade.

"Kayla, it's good to see you again. Nice watch."
It was time to try Titan's Fist man. He got the chair he had been occupying earlier, leapt lightly up to it, and bowed low. "Sir Titan's Fist, oh Ye Who Wields God-Like Power, we have found ourselves in this glorious locale," he gestured theatrically, encompassing the utilitarian room. "One of a kind, fighting for our lives and the lives of the innocent." In one motion, he slid off the chair and knelt before the man, head and arms raised in supplicant obeisance. "We are strangers, brought together in this cru-el world of conflict and war. Can we not, my good Sir, be compatriots; brothers - in - arms?" Melodramatically drained, he waited with his fingers laced, meeting the man's eyes imploringly.

Paul took a few steps forward, opened his hand, and brought it across Siber's face with mild force, then repeated the same with the back of his hand. "I hope that you will never, ever, force me to do that again," Paul jested, shaking himself. "Never, ever, again," he repeated, emphasizing each one with a large space. "That was creepy," he added.

Siber stayed his place. "Paul" he whispered conspicuously out of the corner of his mouth, "I wasn't talking to you. Let me play through."

"If you hope to win anyone over with anything like that, I'd suggest reading Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People.' I doubt the Titan's Fists will slap quite as gently," he whispered in return, wearing a grin.

Joshua calmly approached Siber, grabbed his hands, wrapping them entirely in his enormous right gauntlet, and flung Siber into a wall about as gently as such an action can be - that is, not very.

"Don't pull that bullshit," he advised Siber calmly, standing over where he lie on the floor. "Your speech is insincere enough to make me vomit. You think I don't know who sent that demon out to attack random civilians as cover earlier? Please. Don't insult me." He kicked Siber's ribs and stalked off into some other room. Alan approached Siber and offered a hand to help him up. Apparently, even he felt a little pity for Siber incurring Joshua's wrath.

"You know, you're going to have a Hell of a time here, excuse the bad joke, if you keep annoying him," Alan pointed out.

"You can't say I didn't warn you," Paul said, joining Alan by Siber's side. "That's gonna leave one heck of a bruise," he added, half-kneeling by him.

"Thank you all for your sympathy," he grumbled well-meaningly, taking Alan's hand and rolling to his feet, slightly dazed. He rubbed his head. And his hands. And parts of his back. "But to be honest, if sincerity had been my priority, you would have known. If caution had been my priority, you would have known. And God damn it, Wielder, if I had wanted to kill random civilians you would have known, but truth be told, I thought your people were trying to murder me, so I sent something out to take them down; is that so hard to understand?"
He brushed himself down, pulled out a pocket knife to check it's reflective surface for bruises on his face, put it away, and looked straight at Josh. It was the first time in a long time he had been very serious. "Let me make something perfectly clear to you, Sir. If I want to emote something powerfully enough to get it through your skull, you will know damn good and well when it has happened and you will not even consider pretending to mistake it for a reason to assert yourself as pack alpha." His demeanor abruptly changed to one quite a bit more jovial. "The rest of the time- of which my little theatrical bit a moment ago was a part- I'm just having fun." He grinned, ignoring his bruised ribcage. "Seriously, though, I do strive to avoid conflict; it's aesthetically displeasing. Plus, I never even got your name. I'm Siber, but you knew that."

Joshua turned around and approached him, wavering between slapping him again but deciding it wouldn't serve much of any purpose.

"I'll admit, there's a fair chance those ones would have killed you. They don't enjoy the legal influence well-connected groups like ours have, both in mundane and supernatural forms of government. As like as not they would've shanked you and been done with it." He paused. "As for conflict, that's going to unavoidable, either with us or Legion. Take your pick..."

"As if he'd ever take you back after you interfered with Gurul like that," Alan added cheerfully. "Man, what an option, isn't it?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 10, 2007 9:37 pm

"You know, in an objective sense," Siber began, but Keldan cut him off.

Siber had been about to point out that at least Legion had a sense of humor, and that therefore, based on his explanation of motives, going back was the better option. Not that he would have; he just liked to teach people to avoid logic flaws.
"Well, anyway. Good to see all you people again. Kayla, how are you and your people?" He turned to her. She seemed somewhat bedraggled, but everyone's been that way before.

"Isn't it great when they give you a choice and then decide for you?" Paul said with a grin. "Life can be a real pain." Returning to his feet, he glanced about. The room was as vague as most of the magical rooms he had been in with Josh and Alan. In other words, very vague. He didn't want to try to describe it for fear that he'd look back and find it had changed. Hoping to all Hell that there weren't going to end up being any doors, he glanced around. It had been a while since he had eaten, and if he thought about it, and looked for it, surely he would find some sort of restaurant or the other. Around here it was inevitable.

Surely enough, he found himself looking at just what he was looking for - a sort of convenience store refrigerator aisle. Plenty of high-energy, low-health foods and beverages to hold him off until he could convince himself it was necessary to eat something mildly healthy.

Marching over, he drew out a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew, then turned about, realizing that the place had a distressing lack of tacos. Or at least it had. There, before him, was: a single taco. Ah, well; it was all he needed.

The floor was plentifully inviting as a sitting place, so he lowered himself to it, and began his most unhealthy feast, waiting, watching, and listening.

Siber discovered Alan's ability to hear the warlocks when Alan whispered into his ear.

"Gurul was one of Legion's favorites; while Keldan was favored as well, Legion preferred Gurul generally. Legion would not be amused by your tampering." Alan smiled and walked to the wall. With a flick of his hand, a door appeared. "Enough of this, everyone. I'm sick of holding us in Crossover. We're getting back into the concrete Earth safehouse. C'mon." He threw the door open, showing a room with a couple of couches and several digitally locked safes. "Everyone through." Josh walked through unhesitatingly and began checking to make sure it was secure. "Jake, you can take it from here, right?" A technician nodded to him. "Good to know. All right kids. Let's move it."

"Wait, we're in Crossover right now?" Linda asked.

"Well yes, I said that, didn't I?" Alan asked. "C'mon. Go. Everyone out."

Linda promptly made her way through the door.

Well, it would be a shame to lose the minibar, but some normal Earth wouldn't hurt either. Carrying the bottle of soda with him (he'd finished the taco), Paul somewhat obediently passed through the door next, as he couldn't think of anything particularly better to do. He beelined for a couch, sat heavily, and slumped. "So. We've fought Legion and his little underlings a few times now, have we not?" Paul began. "We've learned some of their abilities, their strategies, etcetera. But we still aren't taking action - we keep waiting for them to make a move and then going and covering. I think we should be taking the offensive somehow, eliminating their warlocks from the equation so that we're favored."

Siber followed, then sat on the back of one of the couches, facing Paul and letting his eyes glaze over.

Aurelie stood in a long hallway on the second or third floor, she couldn't remember how many steps she had walked, only that there had been quite a few. She smiled as she watched out the window at the hustle and bustle of the town as they went about thier lives. Though as she glanced at the suns place in the sky, she realized she had been standing there for quite some time since her earlier shower after the duel.
She turned back towards the steps, finger combing her hair as it curled in wet strands. Normally she would have dried it with a little magic, but she wanted to keep her energy high, not deplete any more. She wanted to be at full power by the time they would leave the house again. At the moment she could still feel her power slowly building back, making her feel much better.
She still felt excited over the outcome of Legions training earlier.
As she placed her hand on the railing and started down the steps, Apoline piped up. Aurelie grinned sheepishly as she descended the stairs.

Apolline snorted incredulously.
