Before Freya could finish her last sentence, the young girl was already in position. And to add on to that, she had already sent out Z who was really eager to battle too. "Yeah let's go! Fighting type or ghost type, we can take 'em!" Alex declared. Dan took a step back and brought out Azalea thinking if she watched a battle it could help her grow.

Grinning from ear to ear, Freya got herself in position and called out her Purrloin. Even though Z was technically a normal type, it still used psychic attacks which would be useless against the feline Pokemon. "Alright, Purrloin, I know you haven't battled a lot but let's do this! Foul Play then Faint Attack!"The Pokemon disappeared from sight, coming up behind Z and digging her claws into the back of it's head before disappearing again and striking once more. Briefly, Freya thought about giving Alex a few tips but decided to keep her mouth shut; she would learn soon enough.

Before Alex could give a command, Z was being assualted with Faint Attack. "Ah, that was quick! Uhh...dark type...Oh! Signal Beam!" Just as Purrloin would come in with Foul Play, Signal Beam would be fired to knock the cat back. Alex had to think quick or Freya would seize the opportunity. "Keep up the Signal Beams!" she shouted. The digital pokemon would fire another beam at the feline.

Purrloin took the hit like a trooper and Freya cheered her Pokemon on. The feline Pokemon had just enough time to recover before Z began to fire off Signal Beam after Signal Beam. It was a good thing that she was agile as that quick agility was the only thing keeping her from getting hit. "Focus, Purrloin! Use Torment now and follow it up quickly with Hone Claws then Slash that Porygon!" It was a good strategy, at least Freya thought so. At the very least it bought them a little bit of time especially with Signal Beam almost fully disabled, well, in a sense. Now Z couldn't use it repeatedly.

Z moved backwards, trying to distance itself from Purrloin but in the end, took a severe strike Slash. Already, the Porygon was looking weak. "Torment? What does that do?" Alex pondered, whipping out her SNAG to find out. "Ack! Now we can't use Signal Beam!...At least not constantly. Ok then...Discharge!" Z nodded and began to let loose the wild electricity. Even Dan had to take a step back to avoid it entirely.

It wouldn't be long until Z was down for the count. However, with the electricity, Freya and Purrloin had to get creative. It was a good thing that she was able to think on her feet. Just as her female Pokemon was about to go after Z again, the girl yelled, "Purrloin! Duck! Use Torment again!" The Pokemon ducked instantly, avoiding getting shocked and was actually underneath the Pokemon when she used the attack. "Now use Double Team and finish it off with Payback!" Letting out a growl, Purrloin suddenly split into dozens of copies of itself and they all moved at Z at the same time, creating quite an effect. This would surely end the battle. Both Purrloin and Freya were pumped though the female Pokemon was beginning to tire. Freya would have to make a mental note to use her more in battle.

Among the copies, the Porygon could tell the real one from the fakes. And so, the digital pokemon fell to Payback. "Ah! We lost? I was so sure we could win" Alex sighed, returning Z. Dan approached the girl and smiled "Not bad but definitely needs some work." He tried his best to explain where she went wrong, like repeating the smae attack over and over. She seemed to be listening, since she didn't argue and understood her mistakes. "Oh, ok...I see. Well next time we'll win for sure!" It was good to see her motivation was undeterred. Turning to Freya, Dan grinned "That was a good battle Freya. You too Purrloin."

Freya cheered and went over, scooping Purrloin up and giving her a big hug, Pikachu and Eevee cheering from the sidelines, having gone and stood over with Dan and Azalea. Their trainer joined them and kept her peace while Dan explained. Once he was finished, she turned to him, grinning and feeling quite proud of herself. Her and Purrloin hadn't really done much battling together and she really needed to start including her more. "Thanks. It was a great battle. You were great, Purrloin and you definitely deserve a rest." Turning to Alex, the girl gave her a big smile. "You and Z are a great team, Alex. You even had me worried there for a minute. For your first challenging battle, you did really well. Though I wouldn't count on winning for a while, at least not up against us. Right, Purrloin?" Freya boasted in a teasing way, turning to her feline Pokemon who looked up at her trainer and let out a yowl of what sounded like approval. It only made the excited girl hug the Pokemon again, giving her plenty of affection. After all, she really earned it.

Odd and Lykas had come back from Sootopolis when Wallace made his appearance to play judge in the fishing contest. "See! I told you." Lykas insisted.
"Ya...I guess you were right." Odd admitted.
"He can't insult the shrimp like that! Only we can do that! At least we're just teasing when we do it." Lykas griped, arms crossed.
"Maybe he was just surprised?" Odd suggested.
"That's not it." Lykas denied. "He's just that much of a shallow ~/~!" He barked angrily. "He's never cared about anything but looks. I bet you if I'd been in the contest, he wouldn't even have recognized me."
"This isn't about Jira, is it?" Odd asked as he came around behind the other teen and wrapped his arms around him for comfort.
"That b*****d hasn't seen me since I was 7......Why the hell should I care about him?!" Lykas asked as he tried to fight back the tears attempting to escape his eyes. "Why would my father just abandon me like that?! I hate him!"
Odd held the boy in his arms and led him back to one of their rooms. He didn't care which at the moment. Lykas just needed to get out public view for a while while he regained his composure.

Sub was out of the lab finally, now sitting on the couch in the main area of HQ. He was watching TV, more specifically the Fishing Contest that had recently went down. Unknown to the competing Snagems it was televised. "I almost feel sorry for Luke...that had to suck majorly." He said to himself out loud.

I recalled Darmanitan before Hydro Pump hit, mentally scolding myself for taking it easy on the kid earlier. From now on, help or no, the kiddie gloves were off.
Scrafty came out of his pokeball and smirked at Shellder, cracking its knuckles malevolently. It took the impeding Hydro Pump without a care in the world, and came out of it ready for more. Without a word from me, because it jumped toward Shellder beforre I had a chance to say anything, it leapt forward and landed head-first on top of Shellder in a Head Smash.
Since Scrafty wasn't taking orders at the moment, I afforded myself a sideways glance, and noticed Krystal staring at the proceedings. "Are you okay?" I asked her. She seemed a bit lost.

Reno yelled out a quick order before impact, "Tesei, use Protect." The small clam gathered it's chi into a barrier. Despite being a little late, it stopped most of the impact from the Head Smash. The remaining force sent Tesei shooting away. Righting itself, it turned to face the Scrafty.
"Tesei, use Twineedle." Reno ordered, his Shellder rushing forward and stabbing the Scrafty in the chest twice. Unsure if it was poisoned or not, Tesei still backed off just in case.
Seeing his Pokemon would be alright for now, Reno looked over to the woman watching them fight. "So, why are you so interested? He your boyfriend or somethin'?" He was unsure who she was, but she seemed interested in Terashi.

Noticing that Terashi was looking her way, thanks to him speaking to her, Krystal snapped out of her daze and smiled brightly at him.
"Yep, just watching the battle. I'm cheering for you!" She stated with a grin, giving him a 'thumbs up' signal. Krystal didn't have any problem being Terashi's cheerleader. Liz was cheering on the Pokemon as well, excited to be watching a battle.

I gave her a light peck on the cheek before walking away, returning to where I was standing. That should be answer enough to Reno's question.
This gave Scrafty time to take Twinneedle and get poisoned, thus doubling the power of his counter-attack, Facade.
