Well, that had been decent... Relatively little carnage and the lines were drawn out nicely now. Everyone seemed to have their little say in things, but he just retired back into the general group and let Eilynne finish it off. The captain would be expected to keep his word and Kaz didn't see a problem with doing his part on board the ship either. No one would be lording over anyone. Though a look over to Jae, eyebrow raised in surprise. "What did you do? And when did the Laerethe choose you to come along? You never told me."

Bell shook her head at Kaz, not quite sure what answer he wanted to what that sentence was supposed to be in reprimand or mere curisoity. "I..didn't so anything and she didn't choose me for anything? It never happened?" Well it hadn't. SHe had merely come to see what was going on and such and she was getting yanked in apparently.

"Well, the captain seems convinced that you are." He noted her hesitancy. "I'm just inquiring, Jae, that's all. Your skills could prove useful to this quest and it would mean you could do your own work, away from the strategist for a while. But neither my father or the Lady said anything to you?" This is what happened when he ran off for leisure for one simple day. Everything was so confusing and he had to keep asking questions.

A slight smirk at the dragoness...she'd put her own foot in her mouth there. he'd kept his word. before a glance at the others.
"You have three hours to fully prepare. any last minute items, goodbyes, wills to be made out...anything of personal nature better be taken care of. we're not going to be coming back here for some time, and other places we might dock into I promise you won't have near the supply of the city. this means, if you forget your favorite knife, don't expect someone else to hand you thiers. what you don't bring with you, you do without, savvy?"
a slight grin.
"that means also for you family types, this is the heartfelt 'goodbye, I hope I come back alive' weeping and crying time."

Shyrae took the ignoring of her question to mean he wasn't telling one way or another. She merely shrugged lightly and then looped an arm through Savvy's. "Come on. We can go bathe before we leave since it will probably be a little while before we see a proper bath. I'm not sure anyone on this vessel has any idea of what that actually is."
Eilynne nodded to Savryn and then waved her hands. "So you should not be. Any who attempts to take advantage of someone else's disadvantage to win is a coward. I will not have cowards." Letting that sink in she glanced around. "Everyone is clear then. There will be no excuses later." She nodded to Hawk and then dismissed them all. "Captain, I wish to use your private study. There are a few things I need to go over and some others I would like to study. If this is not acceptable to you, merely provide me with another place."

She shook her head. "No, not a word." Privy to much information she was but there were also things that she just wasn't told or people thought not to tell her...though wasn't it just the most tempting thing to be away from Mr. Calls Her A Screw-up And Keeps Her Down. Bitter? A tad bit. Though being her and knowing his subtle changes, she knew he was still annoyed over things that had transpired earlier. "So then...guess that means..." Meant what? A fight with 'those in charge of her' to see if hse could go or not?
"Good to know." Savryn rolled her eyes. Pushy demanding time constricting people. But she merely brushed some more wet sand off of her before putting two fingers to her mouth and giving a loud whistle, two flame winged nightmares jumping out of the shadows that the masts casted on the ship, all with a flare of embers and smoke. "I'm good now" Turning her look "Sounds good." Throwing a look over to the crew. "No one touch those horses." And then off to get a bath and get damn dry.

"That means we'll have to find out." And fast too, since the captain had just made the time limit quite clear. He was about to turn to Eilynne but it seemed as though she had her own affairs to take care of. "Come on, we'll talk to my father." Thus, he spread his wings and took flight back to the city, first scouting the lake area and then back to the tower. "Father, we seem to have an issue." Looking over to Jae, he gave her the look that said 'explain yourself then'.

"feel free. I have my own buisness to tend to out here for now."
and he walked off to do just that, barking orders and everything being made to sail and head out into the sandseas. which ment some of the 'pleasurable company' procured by his men needed to get off his ship. the horses didn't phase him in the least, in fact he slapped one on the flank to get it out of his way when he needed to get by the mast. and moved quick enough to not get his hand bit off. make a note for later. those horses have sharp pointy teeth.

Spyrit snapped at him and snorted and Shyrae frowned. She didn't much like it when horses were slapped around, or any animals for that matter. She followed Savvy, heading for the bathhouse and cleaning herself up. It felt so much better to not smell like saltwater. She'd felt like a fish. "We're going to have to watch our reactions, Sav. As much as I hate admitting it, he's right and we are on his ship. Though it still irritates me that he feels the need to smack us around." She was nursing a bruised cheek and a fat lip.
Eilynne nodded gratefully and headed down into his own personal quarters to just that. She spread the maps out and made a few marks then pulled out the model of the Chimera and removed the shard. Holding it in her hand, she whispered softly and then watched as the piece lit up quite brilliantly. Nodding to herself, she set let the light die, then set it aside and began to plot out a course.

Oh boy...she had wonderful luck now didn't she? Kaznec was upset with her, a few others were going to be shortly, she was totally out of the information loop...what a day. Could she go curl up inside her egg again? Taking off after him though, she thanked that her wing slowed her down, but even with that they were there all too soon, in Lycear's study. The elder dragon was going over what seemed to be city plans, and look who was there too...Koto. Guardian Master Strategist.
She swallowed lightly, hands fiddling with each other and looking between all the men in the room with her, switching her tail a little uncertainly. Felt like she was being dragged in to be reprimanded. "Um...pirates are trying to recruit me?"
Lycear turned his attention from his startegist as they were going over a few proposals of how to deal with thier current problem of swirlign water. A nod to his son, before eyes turned to Bell...and then raised an eyebrow at her. "Pirates are trying to recruit you. I take it that you're trying to say that then venture that Captain Hawk and crew are taking, you've been extended an invitation?" Turning eyes to Kaz for somewhat comfirmation.
"She's not going." Said simply. He more or less was the one who had say over things and he gave her that shushing motion as she opened her mouth to protest. "Don't whine. You're not going." Which he merely gave a frown to the one she started to give her. "If you can't handle showing up on time to do every day things that you should be doing, then why in all of Ilindal do you think it would be okay for you to go along on something as important as the Commander is undertaking?" Which in between the lines was speaking of how she'd just cause trouble with her ways.
Lycear blinked at that. Well, he jumped right in there didn't he, but he let his look return back to Kaznec. One step at a time here. Though yes, he could read between the lines easily enough.
"No worries, the horses will be fine. They do bite after all and that fire can burn. Best to let them get used to the deck, seeing as that is where they'll be resting mostly when not in shadows." But oh did it feel good to get nasty sand and salt water off of her, her clothes washed and dried as well. "Men are orcs, simple as that sometimes. Sometimes they think they have to build themselves up by breaking others down. We can be compliant, but only if we're given do respect. My father taught me never to give respect to anyone who didn't give it to me. I would just be making a fool of myself otherwise."

She could have at least phrased that a little better... Looking at his father and nodding, he knew what they were in for. Koto didn't waste anytime in offering up his opinions anyways and it didn't seem like his father was denying it either. Well this was complicated, wasn't it? "Apparently her timing has led many to assume that she is part of the chosen crew to go on this trip."
Turning to the strategist and answering his question for her. He didn't like seeing Jae uncomfortable like that. "Because I need her. While she may not have the work ethic you desire, she has the skills we need. You are a busy man, Koto. Obviously you don't have the time to accompany us and from what I've seen of the captain, I dare say that I cannot trust his abilities nor his word completely." He turned back to his father and nodded. "This is an extensive search, which will require precise mapping and charting skills. It's an opportunity in disguise for her."

"Oh I know, they won't let themselves be taken or anything else that they don't want to happen. Smarter than the average beast." She was thrilled to slip into dry clothes and pulled that overtunic on as well even though she'd gotten no confirmation from Hunter as to whether she needed it or not. She'd figured on alternating and seeing if he said anything. "I agree with you there. Respect must be earned not gifted freely or taken or it loses it's price. That's what my parents taught me." She pulled a brush through her hair and sighed, "I just don't like too much confrontation..."

Lycear covertly smiled. Yes there was a reason that he didn't say too much about what Koto had to say on the matter. What was it? Well, Kaznec had been the one to bring her to them, she hadn't come herself and on top of that, Kaznec could of simply told her it was a mistake and that she should go home. Yet here he was questioning where she stood. And his little rebuttle was excellent as well. Good show from him. He chuckled lighlty, very much seeing the humor in this and turning a look to Koto. "Well, he makes a good argument."
It was never fun getting dressed down, especially by the one who decided if you had a place to sleep or not that night. "Wrong place wrong time I guess..." Looking down at the floor and sighing at the floor oh boy...though a slight look up as Kaznec stood up for her and even provided adequate explainations...he wanted her to go?
A frown. "Leave and you'll have to find yourself a new place to sleep from now on." Simple as that...the girl was trouble and it was hard enough to deal with her as it was to get her to grow up and such, as well as not break things.
"Now Koto, I do think that's a bit harsh?"
"She'll never learn if she's allowed to continue to shirk all her own duties and responsibilities. Allowing her to go, even if the Commander thinks he needs her."
"I rephrase...That's too harsh Koto. The Commander makes a valid argument and I think that it would be good for her to form her own sense of structure, which she will have to aquire, manage, and apply on this mission." Turning to Kaznec. "If you need her Commander, make good use of her skills."
Good news in her favor wasn't it. Though she contained herself so that she didn't openly smile too much or be too excited about how things were working in her favor...or hopefully this wasn't prelude to other things going bad. So here she was, her course of life at the moment left in Kaznec's hands really. Though the thought of him still being mad at her and indeed just needing her skills over her general company wasn't that happy of a feeling. Maybe he was just trying to get her out of trouble and didn't want her to go at all anyway.
No sand, dry, clean clothes, and not smelling of horrid water. "You never were one for confrontation." Chylithair perched across from her on a fixture, Savvy using his eyes to look at herself and duley fix her hair, pulling tangles out and then seperating out indigo, slippping beads back over strands. A frown. "I swear, if I get treated like a damn invalid...." Not a pleasing thought, but finishing up her hair and pulling it loosely back as it always was, she tied it and then turned her attention to Shyrae. "Are you sure we have everything? Things to write home with, particular foods, that sort of thing? Do we need anything new? I could use a new whetstone personally."

"There's plenty of confrontation in my house already, they had no need to add me to the mix. It comes from my father too. Yours loves confrontation, mine hates it." Rebraiding her hair, she mentally scanned over what they had in way of provisions and such and shrugged. "It couldn't hurt to pick a few things up though most of it we should already have. We were preparing for our own journey and we weren't really sure what we were going to hit. I'll come with you to get a new whetstone though. I have a feeling spices are going to be a required commodity on this trip."

"You Inthara's and good cooking. Your dad screwed it up for all of you. But come along." It was all a matter or figuring where things had been moved or remained open, getting some parchment, ink, wax, a few other little things tht happened to catch the eye and such. Finally stopping by a weapons dealer to grab a whetstone. Had to have that. A chuckle as they started back though. "You know, somehow I think you'd enjoy the prospect of being the ship's cook and showing these pirates just how good a bit of bread, meat, and carrots can really be."
