Shinzu let out a light yelp as Batsu threw yet another senbon at him, but the hand to hand fighter was growing used to the pain. He simply grinned at his friend, keeping up his steady pace behind him. "That all you got Batsu?" He said with a wide smirk. Looking over his shoulder he saw the academy. "Hey man, remember your days there?" He said to Batsu as he remembered his own days in the Academy, some time before Batsu.

However, in the back of his mind, his cockiness was getting to him and he hated that. So he just looked slowly towards Shinzu with that same smirk as he formed a few handseals at the same time. "Nope" he said in a sly tone. The boy then furrowed his eyebrows at Shinzu and looked him dead in the eyes. With a calm voice, Batsu then muttered, "Mugen... Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu" Once again, Batsu knew Shinzu and was well aware of his training partner's number one weakness... genjutsu. He planned on using this to his advantage later on during the race but since Shinzu was feeling himself, Batsu felt the need to retaliate and knock Shinzu down a peg... or a few. 1d20 [6] + DEX [15] = 21 DC: 25 ((FAIL)) 7/20 Quote: Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu (Black Thought Technique) Cp Cost: 15 + 5 per turn the technique is continued. Shinzu heard Batsu say something as he caught up to him, but had no idea what. All he knew was that he was beginning to get seriously tired of Batsu's crap, as his former teammate seemed thoroughly unable to go through this portion of the training in any way even remotely resembling fairness. So Shinzu began to plot his revenge, a few knocked over carts here, a smoke bomb there... Shinzu shook his head, what was he thinking? A smoke bomb sure, but cause actual damage to the village, just to beat Batsu? What was he thinking.

 Batsu Watanabe Medic/Archer HP - 204| CP - 264|Mhp - 391 D: 45 | F: 10 | R: 23 |W: 21Batsu felt his chakra lock on with Shinzu's and that was all he needed. The medic immediately began to infiltrate his mind with something that would be effective but nothing too scary to where Shinzu would freak out. With that said, Batsu planted the seed of a large formation sprouting up right in the middle of the road. It was taller than any building in the village and the fact that it sprung up out of nowhere startled the villagers and had many of them screaming in fright. Batsu, in Shinzu's mind, paused and eventually jumped over the formation. Once over it, Batsu was out of sight. Shinzu continued to be haunted by the strange thoughts in his head, growing increasingly disoriented to the things going on around him. Still he managed to continue moving forward, though he honestly had no idea where Batsu was at this point. Really he was only barely aware of the fact that he was moving past the apartments, and getting close to where they had started the race.

 Batsu Watanabe Medic/Archer HP - 204| CP - 239|Mhp - 391 D: 45 | F: 10 | R: 23 |W: 21This... sucked. Batsu was throwing everything he could at Shinzu and nothing seemed to work in his favor. His teammate was still running forward and was ahead. This in turn caused Batsu to have doubts within himself. Was he really as fast as he thought he was. Was Shinzu superior to him at this, his saving grace and what he was training for all this time? Was he about to suffer defeat at the hands of the one who he had defeated countless times before? No. Batsu was not about to go out like this. He refused to accept any such thing, despite how much he respected Shinzu. This was a competition and Batsu was determined to come out victorious one way or another. So Batsu continued to grow the rock formation in Shinzu's pat in the hopes of the oter slowing. One way or another, Shinzu was in for a fight. 1d20 [10] + DEX [15] = 25 DC: 25 ((PASS)) 9/20 D: 45 | F: 10 | R: 23 |W: 21

Shinzu was running as everything seemed to fall in around him, and he couldn't get away, no matter how much he wanted to. In the real world he was running around in an erratic pattern, until he tripped, and fell to the ground. In the little dreamscape world of his mind, the apartments where grouping up around him, and he laid there for a minute before getting back up, and trying to get away again.

To his amusement, Shinzu was running in an awkward and seemingly uncomfortable manner. Needless to say, it made him smile. The trap had been set, the victim was ensnared so all Batsu had to do was keep running and take home the proverbial gold... once again. However, out of pity, Batsu shut the flow of chakra from his brain to Shinzu's and cut the genjutsu off entirely. The other chuunin had been through enough as it was continuing the genjutsu and knocking him out completely would be overkill. Well, at least Shinzu would be paying for lunch... 1d20 [15] + DEX [15] = 30 DC: 25 ((PASS)) 10/20 D: 45 | F: 10 | R: 23 |W: 21

Shinzu continued his crazy walk through his little dream world, actually almost learning to move through it, when it all just suddenly ended for the poor Chuunin. He came out of his little world, just in time to crash through some poor watermelon merchants cart, and go tumbling out the other side. "S-sorry, I'll make it up to you later, I promise!" Shinzu said as he wiped the watermelon pieces, and juice off him. Before the man could truly reply the young ninja was off again. "I'll fix it later, I promise!"
