I used to collect lore, until it started to dribble out my head, and my mom couldnt' tell what I was saying and took my books away..... crying Such a wonderful hobby, killed by age 8......
*sweat* Actually, I can feel my body shutting down now...so I will try to get to bed before I pass out. ^.^ Night!

Mythology is such an interesting topic to study. I used to be addicted to Egyptian mythology. Then somehow I ventured on into Greek.

I love greek mythology! The tales of the gods wer so mesmerizing and enthralling that I could not leave them alone, I think my all time favorite story is that of Althina and her birth (comming out of zuses head fully clad in armor...ow, talk about your splitting headaches).

OMG!!! eek I love mythology of all sorts. My favorite is probably Norse. Any culture that has the manliest of the gods (Thor) crossdressing deserves a gold star in my eyes. I'm currently working on a book of Japanese myths at the moment, but *sigh* college takes me away from that.
On Athena, she repreesents all the good parts of war in the Greeks eyes (courage, valor, honor, etc..). But that probably didn't affect how she was depicted that much in their art. If you look at a lot of sculptures during that paticluar high point of Greek culture, you would see that they are all very similar. They liked to idealize their art work. It's what was popluar around the time that the Parathon was built.

I can't seem to sumon up the correct key words for my beloved library to present me with the proper titles, but I know there must be a few volumes in the system!!! eek Thanks! heart
