you know you're a band geek when you tap your foot to every song on the radio. also: you know you're a band geek/ marching band geek when you walk in time to absolutely nothing without even realizing it.

You always step off on your lead foot. Your section is your family. You know people buy what instuments they play and not their names. You invite friends over just to pratice. You go to football games, just for the halftime show. You watch other marching band for fun...and you judge them. You wish you could own every cool uniform. You wish you could go back in time to march with your band in the 80s and 70s to see what it was like back then. You have watched every video of your marching band from the 80s on.

Elenriel Nimloth Nintendo Punk 05 when You watch the thanksgiving day parade just to see the bands. There's another reason to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade? You know you're a band geek when you use your band locker rather than your regular locker at school because it's just more convenient - you're in the band room most of the time anyway. And you no longer remember your regular locker combination. lol I sometimes forget I have a regular locker!
You know you're a band nerd when you could correctly play everyones part on your instrament without looking at their music

Kuro_Tamashi You know you're a band geek when... You have band class or anything to do with the band room at least 2 times a day on your schedule for school. (Guilty) When you need consulting you ask your band director. When you're bored, with nothing to do, instead of going to hangout somewhere, you sit and play your instruments for hours on end. (Guilty) When you go on vacation you consider taking an instrument or more with you for the trip. (Guilty) Each instrument you own has a special area in your room, like a shrine to band geekerism. When you sit in the class just before band, thinking about what you'll do in band. (Guilty) When you go to class, you ask the director afterwards if you can file the music and organize everything in the band library. (Guilty) lol You know you're a band geek when you've done almost everything you post and aren't afraid to admit it! xd

[.+Hikara+.] You know you're a band geek when you have a nightmare about leaving your oboe reed soaking in its water and it disolves.
I know that can't really happen, but I still had that bloody nightmare and woke up in a panic. eek omg! I've had dreams like that before! I was playing my oboe and my reed was dry so I put it in the cup of water and it starts screaming! xd weird dream...my reed gets in a fight with my oboe sweatdrop

you know your a band geek if you get caught shoplifting at walmart on a saturday morning before a indoor competition, get away before security can arrest you, and make back to school with some of the stuff still in your booksack just to show your band friends (which are the first people to find out you got caught)

LOL. I am guilty of most everything people have posted...almost.
You know you're a band geek when...
the only thing your friends and yourself have in common is band class
you're constantly asking others when the next rehearsal or audition is
your reputation lies (almost) solely within your band accomplishments
your favorite time of the day isn't lunch, but band class
you go in for lunch to play your instrument
on exam days, you continue to bring your instrument out of habit and because you want to play, and after going out with friends on these days, you still go into the band room and play your instrument
your best friends are all in band
the guy/girl you like is in band
you don't like someone simply because they aren't talented enough on their instrument
when you go in for freshmen orientation, the first teacher you insist on meeting is the band director, your biggest worry is whether you will make the higher ensemble and when the auditions will be (and what to play, etc.), and when given the opportunity to ask a question to a student panel, you ask something band-related rather than academic-related (i.e. and this is a true story..."Is it possible to take band all four years?")
you know every school's band reputation, but not their academic one
you want to go to the school with the best band reputation
when comparing schools with your friends from other schools, the first thing you compare is band programs, then the drama department (particularly in the spring season, where the pit plays)
you know the names of all the band directors in the area but couldn't care less about the math teachers or the principals for that matter.
you think about band every waking moment of your life (it's called obsession, and I am so guilty)

1. You want to take Dr. Beat with you 2. You can't wait to hear Dr. Beat every year 3. Memorized Show music and Concert Music 4. You steal music from the Band Room 5. Know where everything is in the Band room 6. Being the first one to be in the band room on competitions and the last to leave 7. Take tapes of the shows put them on dvd and watch them on the bus. 8. Wanting to slam a field judge ( hey I think thats everyone)
That all I can think of numbers 3,5,6,8 are true about me number 8 actually happened and I was proud.

You know you're a band geek, when...
1. You think it's normal when your BD has stuffed, dead frogs decorated to look like a band (Yes, sad but true)
2. No one has to file music when the BD tells you she wants it done, because you have already gone in before class and filed it (haven't you ever been bored.. I have).
3. You give out detentions when someone crumples their music ( sweatdrop hehe! yup!)
4. You and your friends can be in the hall, all start humming the same band tune, and when someone says, "take it from measure 45," you all know where to start (That's me!).
5. You don't think break is interesting unless you can lounge in the hall with your instrument (Of course!)
6. You have gotten a detention before because you played your instrument in the hall (How was I supposed to know that the principal didn't like tympanis?)
