Kaiyou

"Thank you madam'." Kiayou nodded to Azimeana as she handded him the water. He swirled it around a bit in the galss before taking a sip from it. He noticed how the girl looked at him, staring a little and then turning away trying not to. He found it kind of flattering, but wondered why she did that. As she handed Reno the glass he noticed how she acted towards him too. She didn't like him, Kaiyou could tell, and he didn't like the guy either. He wasn't very formal, and didn't have very good manners, even towards a high priest, and he didn't like the way he treated the templar girl either. He wouldn't say anything about it yet, but if it went much farther he would. Kaiyou began playing with the water in his glass, swirling one of his fingers above it and watching the water dance and move to his comand.

You’re cocky. Reno thought to himself as he watched his counter part play with his drink. Arrogant, young, and rash. I find myself liking you in a way priest. You trade my threat for threat and don’t’ back down. A pity I hadn’t met you sooner. I wouldn’t need to kill you then. Abusing the god’s power for a bit of saber rattling. Well played, my dear priest. Indeed, similar in action, gesture and attitude. I see myself in you and am amused by it. Let us hope though you are not all talk but do have a bit of bite to bark up those teeth you flash so severely.

Reno reached to take to glass from the girl’s hand. His fingers held the glass lightly. He was about to pull the glass away when their fingers touched and he heard her gasp. But at this Reno did a strange thing. He didn’t tense or curse. No slap flew from his free hand. Instead, he merely pulled the glass towards his lips. The wine was cool against and what started as a sip became more as he engulfed the glass’ entire contents with one long gulp. Wipping his mouth with a sleeve, he then placed the glass down lightly on the table.

“Snow,” he hissed darkly, but refused to make eye contact with her. “Once you are done washing you hands, make yourself useful once more and bring me the entire bottle of red wine.” He paused and then added sharply; “And try to do it sometime before the winter comes”

“Now then,” He said, crossing his legs as he considered the priest before him. “If I understand correctly, you desire to cut down our little issue. Have you discussed this matter with the Arch Priestess here? Perhaps your presence will give her the peace of mind she might be seeking.”

Kaiyou

Kaiyou glared at Reno as he spoke so negativley and harshly to the young templar girl. He showed no respect to church members from what Kaiyou has seen.
"Alas, I haven't yet, I just recently arived in town and was only informed that there were some vermin about and that you had seen them before." "Other wise I wouldn't have come here you little punk, I'd much rather speak with another preist then with you." Kaiyou didn't like this guy that much. For not wanting to be called a b*****d demeeningly he sure wasn't making himself seem anything but a rude b*****d. "I would hiwver, like to speak with her after I we are done here." Kaiyou took another sip from his glass, then placing it down on the table as well. "Watch your tounge, or you I mayhave one more neusence to add to my hit list." Kaiyou didn't hate much, just non-humans, those who strongly opposed the church and stood up for the vermin, and arrogent, rude, and disrespectful slobs like Reno. "And now back to why I am here. Do you know anything about where these sinners might be hiding? Any leads at all?" Kaiyou didn't want to remain in this man's company for to long, so he was trying to get the information he needed and then he'd be on his way.

Azimeana stood back keeping a stone face. But in truth she was puzzled by his expression and by his order. He had acknowledged their contact, but had not voice any feelings, any disgust towards her. Turning her back to the men, she looked around for a bucket. She headed towards it and cleaned her hands. Using a towel laying next to it, to dry her hands. She stared a second at the water, seeing her own image in the water. His skin was surprisingly soft for someone used to the art of swords.

Azimeana then walked to the bottle and brought it back to Reno. She put it on the table next to him, avoiding another contact. His last sentence had not hurt her as much. She was expected them so much now that his words did not reach her. But she knew that he was the type to wait and launch his poison at her when she was expecting it the least. She stepped back and waited immobile, in sight of both men. She then realized something. He might hate me...and yet I am here...he did not throw me out... She did not think that this was no omission no mistake from his side. She knew that any decision he took was calculated. What is he planning...? Why am I still there...? she wondered. She doubted that she was there simply because she was an Initiate.

Azimeana listened attentively to the High Priest. It seemed obvious that the beautiful man liked Reno as much as she did.

Selyna

PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:08 pm

In and out of awareness of her surroundings, Selyna was pulled in and out of consciousness by the pain from being touched and having her wounds cleaned. She managed to hear Danaiss’ question about if she was alright, although it was delayed by her slipping in and out of reality. She screwed her face up in a way that would convey her asking him if he was serious, but she kept her eyes closed the whole time. Hoping that by not looking at him, she could pretend he was a woman, and not a threat. The ripping of the sheets made her tense and her eyes opened wide, the memory of her clothes being ripped earlier still fresh in her mind. She was grateful for him wrapping her wounds, but wished he would stop talking as it would be easier to pretend he was a woman if the deep manly voice didn’t keep interrupting her fantasy. She wanted to eat, but at this point, resting in a safe, warm, soft place was the best thing for her. Food would always be an option, especially with her hunting abilities, though they were limited now that she couldn’t morph, but actual rest was something she knew would be far and few between in the future. She mewed again, hoping he understood her thank you and hoping he’d heard it, as she was already drifting off. The others were the last thing she thought of before falling into a deep dreamless sleep; she hoped they too were comfortable now.

((Sorry I'm keeping her kind of out of it, but realistically someone who'd sustained her injuries wouldn't really be up and running yet. We've got to find a way to get that dust off of her!))

“Ah, I see.” he said slowly, mulling the last piece of information over in his head. He was both disturbed and pleased by this bit of information presented before him. The arch priestess was unaware of this new arrival. The Reno ran his hands through his red hair. This new priest was perfectly timed. It threw a fire right into both the sidereal’s plans but that of the arch priestess as well. The more freedom this priest had, the more he could worry himself with the matters that truly concerned him.

“As an Inquisitor to the church, I give you my word that I know nothing of where these sinners are.” He raised both hands in a hopeless gesture. “After all, how could I? The arch priestess has tied my hands. Had it been within my power, this city would already be a smoldering pile of ash upon the ground. But for the next four days, I can do nothing. Nothing but sit and pray that for the sake of all those within the city I must not execute the Acherion Pernious Mandate!” He leaned forward and seized the bottle. His hand held it and he glared through the red fluid and clear glass at the wavering figure on the priest. “You know as well as I do what that entails. I will not allow these vermin their exodus into the wild and if the city must be purged than with the god’s will and that of the church and king behind me, I will exercise my Inquisitorial power and do the will of the almightiest.”

Reno pulled the bottle from his eyes and with a flourish, began to pour the liquid from the bottle into the glass. As he poured, the door closed once more and Demetrius entered the room. The black man paused and for a moment, he and Reno exchanged a look. “My dear priest, I see what you think of me in your eyes.” He smiled and shrugged calmly. “Do you find me, like so many others within this world, to be loathsome and vile? A lose cannon? A disgrace to all that the dear church holds so dear? A black spot upon its stainless perfection? Tell me truthfully, what do you see before me? Do you have the authority to judge me? Let us see.” He grinned and sipped his wine. After a moment of silence, his finger’s snapped. “Snow, draw your sword. Draw your steal. Do it. And put its blade to my throat”

Kaiyou

"Though I like your enthusiasm, that idea is a bit rash. We shouldn't have to brun the town to the ground just for a few sinners, that would ruin the lives of the rightuous and hard working people who live here. All we need is a thurough search run by those who know how these fowl abominations think." Kaiyou didn't think anyone could be stupid enough to burn down an entire city just for a handful of non-humans, that was just insane. As Reno asked Kaiyou what he truely thought of him a grin spread across his face. "What do I really think? I think you are a rude, arrogant, slob. A true b*****d son, and yes, everything you just mentioned. If I were to act as I pleased and not by the ways of the church, you may be dead now, but I believe that those within the church have a right to be themselves, and as long as they are kept in check I won't mind them." Kaiyou did not mind speaking his mind, especially to someone like this boy. If e wanted the truth, he'd get the harsh truth. His grin only grew slightly as Reno demanded a blade be put to his throat.

Unsure of exactly how much time had passed, Selyna opened her eyes and smiled a bit, feeling much better than she had been before. Trying to sit up, she winched at the pain, but was relieved it didn’t hurt nearly as much as it had before; feeling more as if she’d over done it exercising at some point, she knew the bandages were to thank for that. Looking around she saw Danaiss still in the corner, as if he’d done his best to stay as far away from her as possible, even while she slept. Selyna felt she should be grateful for this, but felt more as though this was exactly how he should be behaving after what he’d done to her. The bright haired woman still didn’t understand the reasoning behind his behavior, the good or the bad, but felt it was best to tread lightly with him. Clearing her throat, she winced again as the vibration through her chest caused her wounds to throb, she tried again to speak, uttering two very quiet and hoarse words, Thank you. She knew he required medical attention as well, and felt she was up for the task of being able to give it to him now. Gingerly getting up, she slowly made her way towards him, using the furniture and walls to help steady her as she was still a bit light headed, no doubt from the lack of food, something she would remedy shortly after she helped Danaiss. Reaching him, she swooned a bit and tried to give a reassuring smile to cease any worry he may feel about her condition. What exactly do you need do to you? I have a bit of first aid under my belt. She regretted using the words “under my belt” and hoped he wouldn’t think too much about what else may be under her belt.

Alvena stared intently at the man, watching his lips as they formed the words. Not for her benefit, but for the sake of her seeming deafness she must do so. She hid a smile when she noticed that he was flustered at her lack of proper clothes. Still, she could not afford to be thrown out before warning the group she was helping. She had to find a way to get them outside. Out the window or something. If she could get them to her celler, that'd be the best, there was a small, very small tunnel, that looked like it was dug by badgers. They would fit... but how to get them there.

The woman's mindwas going through possibilities and disregarding them faster than the man could give his instructions. As he finished speaking, she nodded and signed her words as she spoke. "I understand, one minute..." she said, speaking the way she had before. Turning on her heel, she went back into the room she had discarded of her clothes in.

Rapping ever so lightly on the hidden panal, she lifted it up as she whispered. "Listen, they are here, I can't keep them from searching the room without raising suspision (sp?)." As she spoke, Alvena started to get dressed, keeping her voice down. "I can't get you to the tunnel that leads from this house, I'm afraid you will have to try out the window. I checked when I got in here, I didn't see anyone. But just incase, be ready to run. I am sorry, I know that you are hurt and cramped, but I am unable to do much more and still help others." Alvena's voice cracked slightly at that and she bit her lip, buckling a belt around her waist to give her dress some shape.

Kaori held her breath as she heard footsteps in the room. At the rap on the floor, she felt she would have a panic attack until she heard Alvena's voice. At that, she relaxed in an instant. As the woman spoke, the witch looked at the others. She knew Abel would be able to make it, but the girls... they had travelled much already, and the had no clue what might have been done to them when they were seperated.

Getting herself out of the hiding space, Kaori stretched her muscles out and nodded silently until Alvena was done speaking. "Please... I must ask you one more favor. These girls.. one is human, her sister can pass as one... Please..." Kaori gripped the girls' shoulders as tears threatened to over take her. "Can they stay with you? I cannot risk their safety any more..."

Kaori watched anxiously as the woman considered this and breathed a sigh of relief when she nodded. "I can say they are my nieces. They will be fine. Here..." Alvena grabbed some blankets from out of the closet and passed them to the girls. "Wrap these around your shoulders. You've been sick and were asleep in bed. Okay?" Kaori turned her attention to the girls and nodded at them, and they in turn nodded at Alvena. They seemed reluctant, but it was obvious to them all that this was the best thing for them.

"Okay... Thank you," Kaori said to the woman that was helping so much. Looking at Abel, she breathed deeply before turning towards the window and opening it quietly. Looking up and down the street, she made sure there was no one in sight before climing out and waiting as Abel did the same before running up the street and down an alley.

Waiting just long enough for Abel and Kaori to be out of sight, Alvena wrapped her arms around the girls' shoulders and guiding them into the front room.

Azimeana stayed frozen at the finger clap and the words which followed. Her eyes narrowed, her passivity was absent from her face for a moment. What did he think by asking her such an act? That she would kill him, an Inquisitor, in front of a High Priest...? She would not die for him, not for this b*****d. She had to admit that the temptation was high. She imagined her blade, her still, in his skin, the blood... the blood... she got a one second flash, which she chased by closing her eyes.

The blond hair woman reopened her eyes and drew her sword slowly. The sound of the metal was the only song around. The silence was heavy. Azimeana put herself to Reno's side, facing him. Whatever his purpose was, she wanted to look at him in the eyes if he were to die. Her silver eyes did not look down this time, she stared at him. She was trying to understand. What are you trying to do...? She wondered. She slowly rose her blade and the tip touched his throat. Her hand was still. She was not trembling. No. If he told her to push, she would have no hesitation...wouldn't she?

Danaiss was weak. He felt someone close to him and opening his eyes saw Selyna. His first movement was to move aside, to put distance between them. Then she spoke. A murmur. She thanked him. He shook his head. "Do ...not thank...me...I do...not deserve it..." his eyes and voice were dry. Every breath was hurting but looking at her stomach he knew that this was true for her too. He did not want her help. She needed his. She should relax. She should be in bed. He wanted to be strong and yet. "Would you mind...giving me the tray with the food..." he tried to point up but his arm felt back down. His jaws contracted. "I need food and sleep...then I will be able to fully heal you." He dared raising his face towards her. "Thank you Lady Selyna." he whispered.

(you know Kisame, i don't think Reno likes your character much. lol)

“Ah, so forceful and blunt with your tongue.” Reno mused delightedly as he straightened. “If you shall be so, than permit my tongue to speak with all the harshness that yours just recently bestowed upon me and mine.” The inquisitor’s lips pulled back into a wide smile as his eyes narrow. His voice followed after his eyes and when it came again, it was harsh and no longer full of the illusionary charm it had held before.

“Alright you littler hypocrite, let us play the fiddle for one another. You would not burn a city because you are unseasoned and withdrawn. You, who are supposed to attend to high meetings of the holy council, refrain because you find them tedious and boring? Your own words there if I recall correctly. My dear sir, I travel across the entire country when I’m ordered and do you think I do not find those same councils dull and a waste of my time? Indeed I loath them but still I go because it is my duty to go.” He felt the blade against his throat and he tilted his head to one side in anticipation. “Every day I risk my life for the church, for the kingdom that shelters it. I have had to sacrifice everything and what do I receive for it? Am I to be judged by an individual like you? One who cannot even find the time to attend the meetings you were ordained by the gods to overhear? One who would squander their divine powers to humiliate a fellow member of the church? I’ve hunted anathema longer than you have been ordained and allow me to expose you to the doctrine I and all Inquisitor’s live their life by ‘the good of the few must be sacrificed for the good of the many.’ Do you have any idea how many people have already died in the pursuit of these anathema? Do you? An entire village has been burned by the hypocritical sidereal who has just left this room. She, one who has touched the gods saw it fit to burn an entire town to ash so we might stop these wicked ones and you would tell me I am rash at taking such an action? No, indeed I am the more rational.”

Reno paused, looking into the man’s eyes.

“You sit there, and scoff me. You hold me in utter contempt. But while you turn your nose at me, you turn your nose to all of us who wear the invisible robes. You sit in luxury as we crawl on out hands and knees. Even she,” Reno said, turning into Azimeana’s eyes. “has covered her hand’s with blood. More blood than you. She, like myself, has worked hard every day of her life.” Reno turned back. “And what does she receive for it? She has received a position in an order most hate and few will ever appreciate. She hates me. Oh yes, this b***h has an utter hatred for me. She will gladly cut my throat for a hypocrite like you,” Reno paused, his grin full as ever. “Or will she? Let us find out. Give her the order high priest, let her have her revenge. Give your hypocritical order and have someone else, like always, dirty their hands for you. You wish me dead, this is your chance. I’ve faced death as often as she and she knows as only warriors can that there is nothing to fear in death anymore. So come then with your almighty words, give the decree to end me. But remember my dear priest,” Reno’s smile dropped at last. “for every single action, there is a reaction.”

Kaiyou

As soon as He finished talking Kaiyou stood up, took the few quick steps over to the two, grabbed the sword from Azimeana's hands, and shoved it forward through Reno's throat and into the chair behind him. He then released it and stepped back, dusting his hands off.
"You think that just because I am a high preist I am weak and unknowning of the ways of war and how this church runs?! You should have learned to watch your tounge. You wanted the truth and you got it, next time, if you have one, don't ask for the truth if you can't handle it! I have been through more then you, I can asure you, to gain this position. And as for thoses meetings, I attend the ones of up most importance, and often have sand ins for the samller insigificant ones you attend for I am off doing what is just, and, as you say, dirtying my hands with work I could easily brush off to a templar like most do. But no, I follow that churches laws to the punctuation!" Kaiyou pulled open the front of his robe, revileing the many scars he had all over his body. "These are the marks I gladly bear for the church, and I know there are more to come! I welcome them, if it means advancing the church and ridding the world of the filth that plauges it!" Part of the markings that gave him his powers could be seen before he closed up his robe again. "Now either survive this a wiser man, or leave this world and allow another, more honorable and compitant man, to take you place in the church." With that Kaiyou reached out as his staff flew into his hand. He then turned and stormmed out of the room, having more then enough to do with this b*****d son. He cared not if he lived or died, he was a high preist, he could tell the story to the council if they cared enough, get pardoned for taking care of such a nuisance, and easily find another to take his place. The lad was stupid anyway, toying with his life like that. The world would be better off without him.

(He f***ed with the wrong guy. Kaiyou doesn't take that from anyone.)

Azimeana had stayed still as Reno spoke. She wondered what the Inquisitor was trying to do by acknowledging that she had blood on her hands. What he trying to gain her to her cause? To make her an enemy of the High Priest. He knew, he even said it, that she hated him, she despised him with all her mind. He insulted her. We are not alike... she hissed as her eyes and Reno's met. She hated that man, she hated herself for being so weak in front of him. And now...he was giving her an excuse to kill him. An opportunity. As if she would accept such an order...and why should she refuse?Did not she want to kill him?

The white woman looked up at the young Priest. From his beauty only coldness seemed to be left. As if the royal b*****d had tainted the Priest, the way he tainted her and anyone around him...only Demetrius seemed out of his range. She gasped when he took her sword. Her sword. Her silver eyes took a different ton, as if glowing.

The blade pierced skin and blood skirted out. The High Priest burped out his hate at Reno. His eyes unfocusing through the mist of hate. Azimeana stayed immobile. Kaiyou was not addressing her. She was nothing to him. He was a High Priest, she was a Templar and now an Initiate. Why would he care? She had hoped he would address her. Maybe she would have followed him. But no. He left.

The Initiate sighed and looked at the blood. Her blood. The High Priest had not even noticed. Her left arm being on the way. The sword was through it. Reno's throat was almost intact, if not for a small cut on the side. Her valid arm removed the blade. One could see through the chair. Her arm hurt. She avoided looking at Reno. Why did I...? she did not understand herself. She wanted him dead. She knew that him alive might mean the death of thousands of innocents...and yet... But whatever her reasons, she was expected only laughers and insults from the man.

Azimeana stepped aside, walking to the bucket where she had watched her hands earlier. She was trying to keep her focus. She was totally enable to understand her gesture. But that was not her primary concern yet. Her main concern now was that she was losing blood...and that she could smell Reno's blood. The Initiate soaked the fabric in the water and cleaned her wound. The blade had pierced her forearm, just under the elbow. Luckily it seemed that the metal had slided between the bones and done only few damages to the muscles. Yet it was painful. She soaked the clothe again, removing the blood and pressed it against her wound. I need to stop losing blood...concentrate...you would not want his blood...

(Kaiyou probably would have noticed if she saved Reno, he ranted for a while. Should I change my post? Or post again for him to do something? Because he'd have helped Azimeana if he injured her.)

Lucia Incrucem

PostPosted: Tue Sep 16, 2008 8:54 pm

As the blue haired man stepped out of the room a small hand attached to a long and slender arm appeared in his way, at its proximal end was a woman, so petite as to appear unhealthily thin. Her pale skin was concealed beneath her unbelievably well-kept robes and her strands of seemingly blood-streaked and otherwise pitch black hair, which fell around eyes which swirled as the dark smoke from burning rubber. The hand was Lucia's.
"It seems as though this grand structure is brimming with those full of arrogance, high priest. Do not think for a moment that I am not aware of your reasons for possessing such a trait." She offered him a wry grin, her opalescent teeth sharp for those of a human. "We have much to discuss, if you would but follow me." With that she turned and began heading towards the modest room which she had acquired, the modest room in which she had performed an immodest act.
The room in which she had made love to her God.
