stressed I am joining the legions of people who lie to their pediatricians today.
My son is on the light side and I understand the stupid percent number is low, but there's no other reason to believe there's something wrong with him. It's a friggin' number, it doesn't mean anything in the big picture. NO, I will not be taking him to get a full blood panel of work done just so YOU can be rest assured he doesn't have Celiac's or a thyroid issue. MAYBE, I'll take him in for a hand x-ray to check his 'bone age.' But I will not put him back on whole milk just because the literature says so just so that in FOUR months you can scream about how he needs to come down to 1% or skim. He doesn't like it, he won't drink it, I've made sure to compensate in other ways. So before you lecture me for the ninth time today about how the APA says they HAVE TO HAVE whole milk, why not try listening to why I'm not giving it to him? I'd rather have him drink the 20oz of 2% he will drink then the 4-5 oz of Vitamin D that he will.
scream STUPID STUPID STUPID!

Thank you D's school. You have just cost me $15 because you don't have the ******** common sense to take his shoes off and then put them straight into HIS backpack. No, instead you do god knows what and send him home with some one else's shoes. Never mind the fact that the shoes we lost were pretty much brand new and the ones we got were very much not new. Do you really think the other family is going to return damn near new shoes? Now I have to replace the shoes YOU lost because my son is starting to grow out of the shoes he has now.
Thank you very much.
@Dirge - I can't blame you for lying. I'd be pissed off too.

I can see both sides of this honestly... I breastfed my son. and if i went out and about and it was nearing the time for him to eat i would go off into a bathroom to do that or go to the car to breastfeed him. I'm not as open as most woman. I think its because some guys are a little to into the idea of breastfeeding. And I felt weird having people watching me. Sooooooo.... i think yes i women should be able to feed their children... BUT.... they should cover up a little.. personally i find it uncomfortable seeing a woman do that.... sweatdrop

I don't see why a woman can't just use a pump and store some in a bottle. confused I mean, it's not like if you bring your baby out into public they will starve unless you lift your shirt.

~ ~ Oh come on...
It's a natural process and people need to just suck it up. They have a term called "n****e confusion" for a reason. That and breastfeeding is just that more convenient. So, that way you don't have to lug around half a dozen bottles just to go to the park or the beach. Which if you don't keep them cool can make the baby sick. Then you have to find a way to heat them. It's just easier to breastfeed. That's why I decided to do that with baby number 2. I refuse to judge people because they're doing a natural thing.

Well why not either bring an ice pack to keep the bottle cool, and then heat it up when needed. Or bring a pump and go somewhere private to pump, or breastfeed somewhere private.
I mean, it's not that I'm asking their baby to go hungry, just have a little courtosy for the people around you. Please, either put a baby cover on ((the name slipped my mind >>)), put the BM in a bottle, or duck away where less people can see.

You know, I couldn't pump and I get really pissed off about people ranting about how BFing mothers need to PUMP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. It shows a lack of understanding and information for the process and empathy. So yes, because I was not formula feeding and I could not pump, my son would have gone hungry just to please you. My husband used to share your opinion about public breastfeeding until we had our son and he realized that it wasn't that I wasn't trying to find a private place to feed, I'd find the most remote area I could when I had to, it was that people would find me, and then give me the deathglare when I was there first. It gave him a new perspective and now he's more irritated by people who insist on STARING and making what breastfeeding women do their business. So perhaps you can lecture them on courtesy and how impolite it is the stare at other people, eh? smile

I am a breastfeeding mama and I don't own a breast pump. I am mostly at home when I nurse my baby, but when I do get out, I sometimes have to nurse my baby in public. It's not my favorite thing to do, but, yes, it's necessary. Like Dirge, I go to the most private place possible, but sometimes, there is no private place. I don't mind nursing in a clean bathroom, but if a bathroom is nasty or overcrowded, I'm not going to feed my little one in there. Sorry.
I also try to cover up as much as possible. I don't want my breasts exposed any more than you want to see my breasts. However, not all babies cooperate with you on that, especially once they get more active. My daughter basically refused to eat while covered up. That was a pain, but I still had to feed her and I wasn't going to switch to formula or pumping just to appease people who didn't understand.

I mean I gave a few different options rather then just pumping. I know it's not a fair comparrison, I just used the first two pics I could find.
