7Konig7 How come there are practically no guy flute players? In my school band there are four, and two say their quiting next year. That'll leave me and one other male flute player in my band. You kidding me? I know a million of male flute players!

7Konig7 How come there are practically no guy flute players? In my school band there are four, and two say their quiting next year. That'll leave me and one other male flute player in my band. There's only one male flute player in my entire band. There was two, but I guess the other quit or something. I guess I'd have to say that there aren't as many male floutists as there are female floutists because the flute is viewed by *most* as a *girly* instrument. I'd say that most guys would be intimidated if they were to play the flute. By males and females.

We've got two - both are seniors. One of them - the asian kid - freaked out when I played Zelda music on my flute a while ago. It was awesome. xp But yeah, he's cool, but the other one talks way too much. He just joined this year - I'm pretty sure he only joined for the trip. >>

I play flute/piccolo. Not very good at picc, but i play.

He's a freshman and in the other band, but he's in my section for symphony. We had a somewhat competitive thing where we played video game music against each other. I played some Zelda songs and some from Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, but I think he won. He played a couple of really awesome Kirby songs, and I've heard him play the opening to Ocarina of Time (the only song from that game I can't play) several times. I wish I could play Kirby songs. It makes me sad.

I'm going to Bellingham tomorrow! Oh yeah! ^^ For those non-Washingtonians in here (which is like everyone XD), it's about two hours north of where I am. Our team made playoffs Saturday, so now we get to take trips. ^^ Bellingham isn't all that exciting, but when you're with the band, EVERYTHING'S exciting! XDDD We're leaving at 4:45 and won't be back until around 10:45 or so. My friend and I have jazz band until 3:00, so we're just going to go to the mall across the street until it's time to go.

netsumi We have two male flute players, and good ones at that. One's a senior, he left once marching season was over and the other's a sophmore and he's AMAZING!! He plays practically every instrument in existance, and only played flute for fun...and he's still better than most of us o.o;; I liked him during band camp, till I found out he was a jerk sweatdrop oh, hi, I'm netsumi, total band nerd and avid flute player (five years!) ^__^ Hiya! I'm Miangel... been playing 6 1/2 years. ^^ Two of our flute players are, like, dating or something. o.O;; I think. It's like, a senior guy and a sophomore girl. They were like all cuddled up on the bus to the game Tuesday, and some of the other sophomore flute players were sitting there giggling. At least, I think that's what was going on. I was too busy talking to my tenor guy to really care what they were doing. XD
