That's not exactly the vibe I'm getting from her. It's more of a "what's best for Abby" vs a "what's best for me" thing?
I was torn between respecting PupSage's decision to stealth and not metagame it, vs following up on my own mini plot points with Abby. I decided to fall back on paladin oaths and realized that, with known bandits in the area who might actually want vengeance against us and the protectors of the manor suddenly gone, it would be irresponsible of Revenge to leave Petra out here alone and/or with just servants beyond the gates.

I just wanted to clear this up, as your characters would realize this, but the bandits you encountered were no where near this area. They were almost an entire days worth of travel behind you on the road, and you were traveling by wagon. You guys also badly injured most of them and caused them to scatter into the forest. Thirdly you are currently camped out in front of the gate of a heavily defended manor within a few yards of the gate. The gate guards can visibly see you and their numbers don't seem any less even after Vincent left with his possy. You feel pretty confident Petra safe, but if you still feel worried you could ask her to hang out in the gardens and on the other side of the wall.

I had assumed they had a bigger sphere of influence than they apparently do; they were well-known at this very location, and they might have tracked us all the way here.
I know I would have if I was a vindictive bandit with a chip on my shoulder! Especially if I had an underling killed and a cash cow wizard stolen.
But alright, alright, if you insist, DM!

Even if this 'bandit' is vindictive and lost as much as you state, I voting Revenge's buried body comes back as a zombie; he would have to be a special kind of stupid to come close to a KNOWN Archmage's home.
*munches on a carrot*
Though, I do expect him back in the story.
