Orchid’s eyes took in the familiar scenery of downtown New York. as someone who liked to go downtown often, she could tell that it was a fairly accurate depiction of the city, even if it was not a particularly notable one. It was identifiably New York, though not a block she was particularly familiar with. Orchid made her way into the simulation room to join the rest of her teammates. Narcissa made the rules clear from the outset. They were to play laser tag against the Alphas, which could have been deduced from their gear. Points would be deducted for killing bystanders. The simulation would mute powers somewhat so they could not do significant harm to each other. Likewise, they could not eliminate their own team members. A simple set of rules if ever there were any. This kind of exercise was more to her liking. Admittedly, things had gotten rather stale at home base, and there was only so much she could do to pass the time before she was ready to blow her own brains out in protest. So it was nice to have some room to stretch her feet, even if it was in what was essentially one big video game. She would rather have gone on a real mission, but she supposed this would do for now.
As the simulation started and laser fire erupted all over, Orchid instinctively ducked behind a car to her left for cover. She kept her gun beside her as she thought through what to do. She saw various group splitting into smaller teams. Peyton had gone off with the werewolf boy. Magda had, annoyingly, gone with Roland. There was not really much of anyone else whose company she particularly enjoyed. She took a moment to look down at the laser guns in her possession. They were small pistols; all six of them. She was not particularly strong, so she did not trust herself with anything too much larger than a concealed weapon. That was to say nothing of her general contempt for firearms. Guns were the weapon of the enemy, as far as she was concerned. Guns were the equalizers that the apes used to pretend they were on some equal footing with mutants. They were the weapons of the less evolved. Humanity had grown beyond the need for firearms. That being said, she had no intention of failing this exercise due to her own preferences. Considering she had a potentially unlimited number of limbs at her disposal with her mutant powers, she decided to make-up for her chosen weapons’ lack of firepower by loading up on a whole lot of them. She held a pair of pistols in her hands, while the other four were held by long blonde tendrils of hair stick out of her head.
Go big or go home, as some nameless wise person once said.
As many of her teammates split off into smaller groups, she could not help but think a lot of them had no idea what they were doing. Such a case reared its ugly little head when Blake and Alice immediately decided that it was a good idea to tear down entire buildings. Normally, she would not have cared about a little wanton destruction, but Narcissa had explicitly stated that should civilian lives be lost it would lose them points. Had they not heard that part? Before she could argue against it, however, Peyton had pointed out how stupid the idea was before she could, and she was naturally amused by the little spitfire’s immediate reaction. The pair, however, still decided to go through with their little plan and started demolishing buildings. If this were real life, she would have applauded them. But this being the simulation that it was, she could not help but shake her head at the nonsense. ”What part of ‘hitting civilians will also lose you points’ did you two ******** idiots miss?” Did they not think that a building in the middle of New York would not be populated? Or the surrounding area, for that matter? ””God help you if you morons make us lose because of your stupidity.”
She took a moment to consider her options, and sucked at her teeth when she finally decided on something. As a light mist settled over the area, and the dust cloud from the falling buildings overtook the area, she ducked into an alleyway not far from her. She kept her hand pistols at the ready, while her other pistols were were lowered; to an onlooker, it would appear as if the guns were literally tied into her flowing blonde locks as if they were simple accessories. She eventually found her way to the same alley where Roland and Magda were. She crouched behind the dumpster the massive armored man moved for cover while he laid out a plan to be the bait while the other two shot at the exposed targets. That made perfect sense to Orchid. He gets to flex his overcompensation muscles, and the two ladies get to shoot at everything that shows up to take his head off. They could also make fun of him while he King Konged all about the place.
”This fits quite comfortably into my own plans, so I’ll go with it,” she said to the barbarian. She did not care if he desired her input or not. ”Just to be clear, I’m only here to protect my lover from your stupidity. Plus, what you lack in competence you make up for in being a big human shield.” She readied all six of her pistols for when the savage inevitably leapt out from cover to go be a target. ”Although, you know what would be better bait? If you were flying through the air. You should let Magda throw you.” While the idea was tactically sounds in her mind, she mostly suggested it because she wanted to see Magda throw the ape. It was a win-win for her.

Daylia found herself laying in bed, watching the original version of A Nightmare on Elm Street. She was doing anything and everything to take her mind off of the fight she had with Dimitri. Whenever she thought about the situation, her mind wavered back and forth between anger and guilt. On one hand, she still wasn’t sure whether or not she believed his story, and on the other, she should have never hit him.
Strangely enough, Narcissa never reprimanded her for the action. She couldn’t help but feel that it would come eventually, especially if or when Bella complained about the abuse to her underlings. It was one of the reasons she took to keeping out of the way.
Unfortunately it wouldn’t last.
They were to meet for a simulation session. Grumpily D hit the spacebar on the laptop, pausing the movie just as Johnny Depp was being sucked into the bed. It hadn't taken long for her to make her way down to the simulation room, in uniform. Somehow she had beaten Gracie there, the only person she actually wouldn’t mind talking to.
It wasn’t long before the woman squeezed in, remarking on the lack of their favorite Alpha’s. "No it doesn't." She said, a slight frown tugging at her lips. She didn’t bother to look around the other group to double check, not wanting to make eye contact with a certain one.
With The rules and wager out of the way, they were left to their own, entrusted to hunt down the Alphas and destroy them with their laser guns. Her eyes went to Narcissa as she called out both Gracie and herself. A brow rose in the blonde’s direction, before nodding. "Got it, babysitting detail." She said before flashing their leader the peace sign and allowing Gracie to lead her away.
She smirked with Jinx’s teasing towards the teams speedster. "Already getting some flirting in today?" She asked, tossing the dark haired woman some teasing of her own.
They began their hunt for their charge. It didn’t take long before Gracie was down talking herself. She couldn’t help but think she was blaming herself for the babysitting detail. "Dude, come on. I told you what she told me about that day." She said, eyeing the woman out of the corner of her eye. "It wasn’t that she didn’t trust us, Knoxx and the newbs took off on their own against her orders, and there was something about Solaris coming along out of convenience or whatever. You gotta stop blaming yourself. Besides, the latest ******** up was me. I’m the one who hauled off and punched an Alpha." Regardless if he had deserved it or not.
Daylia watched the streets ahead of them, her gun hanging loosely at her side. While she kept an eye out, Jinx decided to try the boys comm. She couldn’t help the smile that crept onto her face. She shook her head as she switched the channel. Though as she messaged Narcissa another message came through Daylia’s, informing them that Blake and Alice were taking down the city.
"Seriously? If that even practical? Is that something we should worry about them doing in an actual city?" She asked before raising her gun. She had thought she had seen the blue of an Alpha uniform. After a moment she lowered it, deciding that it must have been a reflection or something. "Granted, I feel like his power is a bit more awesome than mine. I mean, he can cause things to blow up instead of just sneaking around." The thought almost made her feel useless.
She paused in the middle of an intersection, her head swiveling this way and that, looking for the hint of red and black. "No I- wait, is that him?" She asked pointing towards the subway entrance with her gun. "You’d imagine he would have tried to pair up with someone, but who knows. Some people just think they’re the s**t." She said heading in the direction she had pointed.
It probably wasn’t wise just to be walking around in the open, but if the Chameleon was being honest, she wasn’t exactly in the mood for a simulation anyway.

Tara had enjoyed getting to spend more time with Christian and Charlie since their last mission. It was nice to be around people with personality, that knew how to have fun. It seemed to be sorely lacking in the majority of the base's inhabitants lately, despite her best efforts to liven up the place. Some had been more receptive than others.
Now, however, they were summoned to the simulation room for what she was sure was going to be an interesting training session. Bella explained the stakes of their session, the brunette instantly deciding that she didn't want to be in the losing group this time around. Sure, it wouldn't be too bad to have to wash the X-Jet since she had a new swimsuit she was dying to show off, but it was always better to sit back and watch the man candy suds up, right? Either way, she had a feeling she would make the best of it.
In what seemed like no time at all, the battle was underway, the brunette firing off some shots from her laser gun as she threw one hand up to create a shield of earth in front of her. Backing away from the middle of the arena, the geokinetic's shield followed her as she tried to find somewhere she could hole up and defend herself against the Omega threat. Some of her comrades went off to get a better vantage point. Some of the Alphas skittered off to meet the Omegas head on. Neither were really her style. Maybe she could hole herself up somewhere and just wait until some of the others eliminated themselves, then pick off the rest.
A hole would appear in her shield once in awhile to allow her to try to get off some shots at others, but admittedly she was a pretty terrible shot. Her power was never really one for marksmanship or sharpshooting, so she found herself very thankful for the foresight to disallow friendly fire this time around.
From the sound of things, it had gotten pretty crazy pretty quickly, Tara only letting her dirt shield down when she was sure that she'd found a relatively safe spot in an alleyway. It was just too much concentration to keep up while the sounds of chaos erupted around her, the comms lighting up with various teammates that started calling out the location of their Omega targets. It sounded like they were everywhere, the brunette quirking an eyebrow slightly at the announcement that they had a new face joining them, apparently called Wraith. He asked if anyone needed backup, just as the ground began to shake violently enough to bring down a couple of buildings not too far away.
"Someone isn't ******** around," she muttered to herself, sure that it was her relative-counterpart on the Omegas, Alice. The difference between them was that she didn't want to bring down two buildings full of people, most of them innocent in some sense of the word. And Tara had better hair, obviously.
"Welcome to the Alphas, fresh meat," she responded with a grin as she looked up to see a couple bodies leaping from the collapsing building. She was about to rush forward to try to help, but found herself pinned down by an unseen shooter. Again, she threw her arms forward to summon a shield, sure that her health bar was getting low.
"Hey,Wraith, I could use some cover," she called into her comm, just as Dimitri announced his presence through the comm and offering to make it rain on any Omegas that needed it. "Nice of you to join us, Captain Playboy," she joked back, sure that the playful tone in her voice would carry through as she saw Thomas not too far off, asking if he was needed anywhere. Instantly she started his his direction, calling towards him.
"I always need you, Transmigration," she started, offering him a coy smile as she thinned out but expanded her shield to cover him for the time being as well. "Safety in numbers, right?"
((O.O.C. This post is absolute s**t, and I apologize for it! Hopefully when we get a bit of a group going it will be better. <3 ))

✦ At this Location: Simulation Room✦ Thinking About: Laser Tag ✦ While on Team: Omega ✦
Charlotte assembled with the rest of the Omegas when bid, looking around the simulation room as Narcissa explains the rules of the game to them. She made a face at he mention of the stakes, sharing their leader's sentiment that she wasn't going to be the one washing the X-Jet. She was all about a fun car wash, but not when it meant that they'd lost an exercise that had her name written all over it. After all, she was the resident Omega sharpshooter, be it laser, arrow or bullet.
The redhead found herself standing near Gracie, Felix and Daylia, giving them each a small smile as it was revealed that their targets in this little exercise would in fact be the Alphas. That was an interesting twist.
Blue eyes moved to the other side of the block, looking through the bodies on the other side as they started to pick their targets, Jinx lamenting the absence of Luke and Lynn from the list of possible black and blue targets. "Aww, I'm sorry," she responded with a pretend pout, reaching over and giving the hexer a gentle pat on the shoulder. It didn't seem to take long for the girl to pick a replacement target, the announcement that the exercise was about to start triggering a flurry of instructions from the sun goddess. Gracie and Daylia left to carry out their orders before turning back to Felix and suggesting that they team up. The redhead grinned towards the girl, tossing her ponytail over her shoulder before turning towards the speedster with a sweet smile.
As the exercise began, chaos erupted throughout the entire block, with Alphas, Omegas and simulated soldiers firing lasers in what seemed to be every direction. The Omegas began to disperse into their smaller units, some dictated by authority while others just naturally paired up with each other. Felix, true to form, sighed as he watched the girls walk away, turning to her and commenting on the amount of temptation all around him. The eagle eye couldn't help but laugh slightly, shaking her head as she stared at him.
"You just never change, speedy. You incessant flirt," she joked with a soft shake of her head, following along behind him as he started towards the entrance to the simulation. Anyone that knew their history might have been surprised to see them teaming up together, but the truth of the matter was that their past had nothing to do with their present relationship. It had been a colossal mistake, the two of them dating, and one that she had been quick to put behind her. The fact that they would end up on the same team wasn't something that had ever crossed her mind, but she found herself okay with the prospect. For all his faults, Felix was still fun to be around, when he wasn't going out of his way to be an a*****e. The only difference now was that she could call him out on it without being worried about how awkward it was going to make the evening. That part about their "new" relationship she was more than happy about.
"Oh, hot cross buns, I'm right behind you," she assured him, the laser gun in her hand resting back on her shoulder as her gaze lingered on his butt for a split second. "firebrickYou're not the only one that likes the look of some people as they walk away." As they looked around, assessing the situation, she sought what cover she could as her partner opened the comm link to Aren and proposed a wager between the two of them. She couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly at him, a wry chuckle escaping her.
"Always the wagers with you, Dart," she said simply, turning her attentions from him to the streets ahead. Popping up from her spot, she shot off a few rounds before ducking back down, glancing up to some of the roofs around them.
"Really, I think I'd be more effective if we could get to higher ground," she suggested to him, motioning towards a nearby roof as Alice and Blake messaged the team that they were going to start bringing some of the buildings down. She had always been more of a sniper than an active gunwoman, and she would have preferred if instead of laser guns they were laser bows, but she had to take what she was given. Seconds later, the ground beneath them began to shake violently, causing two of the buildings not too far away to fall to the ground with some Alphas on top, her eyes going wide.
"On second thought, I don't think I want to be high up while those two are around," she said nervously, looking to the speedster once more as she fired past him towards a moving target. She wanted to laugh, but instead ducked down lower as she saw her health bar deplete from a stray shot from an unknown direction.
"What do you think, Dart? Have your eye on anyone special? What about that cute brunette that you're always getting tutoring from?" The expression on her face was one of pure amusement as she let him pick who their next target was going to be. After all, weren't these training missions supposed to be fun, too?

This was meant to be both serious and simple. It was a game, one that emphasized teamwork and combat while not doing so in a life-threatening way. From what he understood, every member here had at least one weapon designed to do 'damage.' Too much, and you were out. At least that was how it worked in theory. These were simply the means to an end. No- the real test was using your powers to put yourself in a prime position. This wasn't laser tag. This was chess. Just like chess, the game was easy to understand and highly difficult to master. Wraith was glad that he used the com instead of walking out and trying to find a person. His powers were stealth and perhaps a bit of chaos. As such, Wraith was ready to make himself known on his own terms. Shortly after his call, somebody answered. At least he wasn't the only person that was naive enough to use the comms just to say hello. The first response was kind and friendly. Precisely what he was hoping for and knew would be dangerous. Simply calling yourself an Alpha was not enough. Actions proved who you were. For the moment, he needed to know more. As such, he did his best to move through the environment carefully, homing in on the source of the first call. It wasn't a call for help but at least it was welcoming.
As he darted through the darker areas, he augmented his passing with incorporeal shadows, quick constructs that had no substance. They simply hid him from view. As he made his way through the simulation, the unmistakable sound of chaos began to reverberate through the area. Looking up, he saw a building beginning to topple. "Well. That's new." Unfamiliar with the power sets at play, he could only make a line for that location. The only thing he could be certain of was that combat was ongoing at that location. Powering through the alleys, he stuck to as many natural shadows as possible. He wanted to approach as unseen as possible- but no use in tiring out his abilities before he even arrived. It was 'blocks' away, so the time to approach was not as fast as he would have liked.
On approach, he heard a second voice through his comms that referenced him. It wasn't to him specifically but was to all his team. A female voice sounded somewhat upset and confirmed what he already knew. It was an attack. The building was not moving out of convenience but as a strike. "s**t- they are playing for keeps." He began to speed to their location with more haste. Even in simulation, if they are willing to drop a building or three, these are more than competitive urges. Speed was not his strongest attribute, but soon enough he was able to get within distance to begin to hear the chaos. The combat of people. Why had he been introduced to the simulation so far away? He was walking into a pseudo-war with no idea of who was his ally and who was his enemy. All he had was the red/blue identifiers. For now, that would have to do. His mind reeled with ideas of how to help. If he could get close enough, his shadows can be a distraction. Perhaps if he could close the distance his shadows could take form as he took refuge and knock a few people over. No sharp edges- but a blunt knock to the back of your knees can send a person to the ground. Subterfuge and melee were his weapons of choice.
Again, a voice spoke- this time seemed to reference him directly. That gave him all he needed to know: a target. He narrowed his eyes and watched the buildings for signs of stress or attack. Working through this area would be both easier with all the chaos and flashy attention-grabbing . . . and harder for all the dangers now working around him. "Cover, aye!" he spoke into the comms before entering the fray. The person hadn't identified herself, or location. The assumption was Alpha, given she responded to his call. What he needed was to find somebody pinned down by fire. a few errant shots seemed to paint her location. With some amateur skills at running along walls and carefully placed shadows, he managed to keep himself relatively hidden. Hopefully few would be able to notice his movements. If the Omegas are levelling buildings, a swift shadow shouldn't attract too much notice. Then again, he wasn't overly sure who had what powers. He had no idea if he was successful in getting here unseen or he simply wasn't a priority target. Wearing dark clothing that was more functional than flashy helped.
Arriving in an alleyway by sliding down a wall or two he crept up behind a woman with some rather attractive hair. She held up a wall of dirt, and that made him pause. An earth mover? Was she responsible for the urban renewal around here? As she looked about, he noted her blue icon. One way or another, she was an Alpha. Her shield was up and taking some fire, but he could help her. He narrowed his eyes and moved up beside her, stopping on her 7 o'clock. Shadows slid up the earthen wall like tar, reinforcing and holding the dirt in place. His powers reinforced the wall, supporting the dirt barrier. "Please tell me you didn't lower the property value here." His voice was both worried and a bit joking. He had just exposed his powers to her behind the wall, but the one taking shots should only be hitting dirt. Essentially, he gave up all stealth of both power and presence to her. Strangers, teammates, she could easily turn on him. Worse yet- these tag guns used lasers, compressed light. such weapons would tear through his constructs like tissue paper. He couldn't use them to shield himself from shots . . . If she moved the dirt away from their combined barrier, he would be sorely pressed to defend.

She couldn’t help but find Collin a bit cute. The way Collin clapped and hid her face made Alex bit her lower lip. She had a feeling Collin might take her laughter the wrong way. After suggesting they go further into the alleyway, Collin followed her closely. She started making suggestions in hopes of trying to get through the game and not lose. While she knew she likely would not be the best, she didn’t want to have her lack of experience cause harm to the rest of the team. Luckily, Collin acted like she knew how to play the game.
“Good. At least one of us will know what we are doing.” She said before faintly giggling. Maybe it might be best then for Collin to lead. But, she didn’t say that since she wasn’t sure Collin would want to play leader. Just as they got into the alleyway more, Alex felt Collin touch her shoulder. She stopped in her tracks and turned to face her companion. Collin pointed towards the sky causing her to look up as well. She only looked back down when she heard Collin typing away at her phone.
Slowly, Alex nodded and smiled again. “Sounds good to me.” For some reason, Collin started to freak out. It didn’t help her that the messages became confusing to read with all the spelling errors. But, she ended up smiling more and nodding again. “I’m sure it’s fine.” Honestly, Alex could be terribly wrong on what bothered Collin. At least she tried though.
She watched as Collin approached the fire ladder nearby. She stood there and kept lookout while Collin worked to get the ladder down. Luckily, they didn’t have any soldiers or any of the opposing team coming their way. It didn’t take long for Collin to get the fire ladder down using her powers. Collin’s power really was adaptive. After getting the go ahead, she climbed up the ladder and headed up towards the roof. Once they got there though, Collin apparently had the idea to kick in a window.
The glass breaking caused her to stiffen. At least she had lowered her hearing some to where the sound didn’t exist right up against her ear. She followed Collin inside and looked about the place. Since the Danger room created an environment in great detail, she wasn’t surprised the hologram created interiors for the buildings. What did surprise her was seeing the interior of a New York City apartment. She had never seen one before and found herself caught up exploring the kitchen and the living room, keeping Collin in her sights.
She ended up nearby Collin when Collin typed on her phone again. “Well, there is the leader. She really does not like any of the Alphas. She is hard to miss with her attitude and all.” Alex explained while furrowing her eyebrows. What others Omegas were there? She hadn’t had a lot of interactions with the other team, let alone bad ones. Narcissa just had a reputation that preceded her. “Besides Narcissa though….” She trailed off before stiffening at a noise outside of their conversation.
Collin went forward and Alex followed, trailing behind to keep some distance. Once again, Collin used her abilities to help them out. The noise turned out to be a hologram child. Her eyes blinked at how real the child looked. To think the Danger room even made the non-participants look so real. Collin looked much more relaxed after realizing the source of the noise was simply a kid playing with his toys. She watched the movements of the hands to try and get some grasp of what Collin was saying.
“Just stay relaxed. I do not think panicking will help us.” Shortly after saying that, Bella started giving updates. She remembered Bella going over the codenames of the other team multiple times in case they needed to work with the Omegas. In this case, the codenames allowed her to put powers to codenames. “Looks like we-” Before she could finish, the kid started screaming. She gritted her teeth at the noise as Collin came running towards her. The panic clearly showed on Collin’s face. “What is it?”
She gasped loudly at more windows breaking. Her eyes widened at the sight of the soldiers. “Oh no.” She said more to herself as she gripped tightly onto the gun. While she noticed Collin moving around her, Alex stayed focused on the soldiers. She gripped the gun tightly, doing her best to aim at the soldiers. She stiffened at the shots from the guns and pulled on the trigger of the gun. She nicked one of the soldiers across the arm before Collin used her plasma as a shield. She took deep breaths while aiming the gun again at another solider.
Her body stiffened at feeling someone gripping her hand. She looked over to see Collin. But, when she realized where they were heading, her eyes widened and she really felt tense. “What are we doing?” Alex cried out at finding herself pulled out a now broken window and heading towards the ground. There was no way hitting the ground was going to be pleasant from this height! She clenched her eyes and tried to bring her limbs close to her body. Maybe that would help? Not like she had fallen from a three-story building before!
Luckily, Alex felt something not as hard as the concrete. She even felt herself bounce a bit off the material. Her eyes opened just as she landed onto the ground from the bounce. “Ow….” Alex felt her left side from shoulder to feet sting a bit and feel somewhat sore. But, at least she didn’t feel anything more than that besides a bit of a throbbing head. Slowly, she lifted herself up off the ground while rubbing at her head. She blinked a bit at seeing Collin up against a street sign nearby. However, she quickly took notice of the red ticks above the two people’s heads (Christian and Peyton). Her eyes widened and she tightly gripped onto her gun.
She aimed, firing at whoever was the closest to her (Christian or Peyton). After firing, she ran over and gripped Collin’s arm. “Get up. We need to move.” She told Collin while turning her upper half to keep herself in position to see the two Omegas (Christian and Peyton). She could only hope she could get Collin up and at them as they say so she wouldn’t be going two on one with people likely more experienced than her. Otherwise, she was screwed.

xA smile met the redhead as she told Charlie they could team up. Maybe it was because he hadn’t really had any of the other Omegas watching his back on a mission before, but Kerrigan was an easy second choice to his usual companion, Christian. They’d made a decent duo back at the mall.
“Just a friendly wager.” He stated with a simple smile when the redhead brought up the fact that he and Christian weren’t sticking together for the exercise. As they ducked behind cover from blue shots that had started zipping through the air, she wished Roland good luck, and Charlie offered him a friendly nod. “Don’t tell me you two made a bet too.” his teasing tone would give her the option not to answer if she didn’t want to, but he was a little curious.
The two then took off toward the alleys. A grin curled his features at her offhanded ‘keep up.’ Whether she had meant it as one or not, the probability sensor couldn’t help taking it as a challenge. Kerrigan climbed up the side of a building so gracefully it looked effortless. Charlie lingered behind on the ground as she did, acting as a lookout to watch her back until she was all the way up. The reversed roles then and he scaled the building to the fire escape while his redheaded companion kept an eye out for him. Lucky relied a little more on muscle than the finesse that Kerrigan had displayed, but made it up just as easily.
Their comms came to life with one of their teammates relaying his plan to the rest of the team, and immediately getting chewed out by a couple of the others. Charlie winced sympathetically at the harsh tones coming through, but the guy got the blessing of their leader, which was the only opinion that really mattered. Right? He definitely wouldn’t want to end up on her bad side...
Shortly after, he could hear what sounded like the building crumbling. He couldn’t see if from where he was on the ground, but it didn’t sound very far away. Once Kerrigan was up, Charlie had started to climb up after her. But as soon as he turned to face the wall the redhead had scaled, he paused and looked back over his shoulder at the building behind him. He switched his comm over to Kerrigan. “Uh… What do you think, Knoxx?” he asked, pointing to the top of the next building over as he started making his way down the alley to find the best way up. It came quicker to him than most - it was a small thing, but one of the things his ability excelled at. He was typically efficient in the things he did, if nothing else.
With the agreement of the Omegas' second-in-command, the probability sensor climbed up to the roof across the alley from her. From there he could see where the buildings that Blake and Alice had taken down had once been. The downside was that they were separated, and couldn’t get to the same roof as quickly as they might need. But it would help them keep an eye on more area. And maybe he didn’t know all of the Alphas’ abilities, but how many could really get up to them very easily? At least they could provide some cover fire for each other for an escape if needed.
A few moments after the building came down, his redheaded companion silently motioned to the alley between the two buildings they had taken position on top of. Quietly, he moved to the edge to peek over the side and spotted three Alphas (Tara, Thomas, Alexander) trying to take cover. He grinned when he recognized one of them. Tara was good company, but she was on the other team. Charlie didn’t have a problem taking her out. It was all in good fun, but he was determined to win.
The two were probably far enough away from the Alphas for a discrete comms conversation, but they stuck to silent looks and hand gestures anyway. Spreading out, they waited for the group to move a little ways into the alley, enough that Charlie and Kerrigan could take positions both in front of and behind them - and also on each side of them. The probability sensor motioned that he would start shooting first, he was on their exposed side. With any luck - and “Lucky” was his codename - he could take them by surprise, forcing them to turn to face him and expose themselves to Kerrigan. Double surprise. Hopefully it would get them a few free hits to start them off with a little advantage, aside from their high ground advantage.
Seeing that she understood, he opened fire on the trio. His shots would seem oddly well placed with the enhancement of his ability, even if they noticed him and tried to take cover. They were not undodgeable to begin with, though as time went on they would seem harder and harder to avoid - as his ability watched them, and got a feel for their movements and body language.

Roland Anton Chevalier Location: Training Sim Thoughts: Better get to flushing then… The brute took to the alleyway quick, his thoughts racing on how to proceed in the situation. He’d formulated an idea about setting up an ambush, the idea to flush out a target and draw them to the killzone he designated in the alley. He created a position of cover for Magda using a dumpster. It also served as a clever method of tightening the entrance into the alley as well, forcing an enemy force to have to enter one at a time. They wouldn’t have seen Magda’s repulsion ability coming. As he made his preparations he heard rumbling and crashing as buildings crashed around them. Alice and Blake decided to implement a scorched earth strategy and sought to tear down some buildings. While in the game it may have been a decent idea, he did not approve of it being a sufficient strategy in the field. They’d be no better than the Brotherhood of Mutants or the humans that sought to exterminate them.
He chose not to put any input in the matter, but if he had the opportunity he’d see about writing out a report to Narcissa or Emma if they bothered with such things. He understood that combat resulted in collateral damage, but there was a need to avoid unnecessary collateral damage, even in training. The risk of letting what was done in training be implemented in the field was too great. It’s why cops these days are more likely to go full-scale tactical for a situation that may have been better suited to de-escalation. How police equipped with military vehicles and heavy grade weaponry as though they faced an insurrection had faced peaceful protesters. They were trained to respond to these situations with more so than any other, and as a result this is what they went with; what they knew, what they ‘d practiced.
It was not something that he wished seen repeated among people he considered allies.
He scanned the field, relaying his ideas to Magda as Orchid also arrived. He only bothered to listen to her say that she agreed with his idea, the rest of her banal diatribe shifting to nothing but white noise in the back of his mind. He had more pressing matters than to listen to her inane and useless commentary about him. Frankly he only cared about her usefulness to him for the sake of this mission. If she proved beneficial he’d keep her around, she didn’t he’d dump her by the wayside and do go forward with a new strategy, one that didn’t involve a borderline psychotic hair manipulator to act as a lynchpin. He’d caught something about being thrown coming from Ochid to which he did not react. His armor covering his whole body he saw that there was an opening; the coast was all clear, not a soul in sight at this point. He turned to the pair and nodded, an informal signal that he was about to head out. While it might have been a good idea that he make obvious movements, something to draw attention to himself and lead to bringing them to him.
However, there was a risk of bringing too much attention on him. Sure he had a decent ambush point, but even with Magda’s ability and Orchid’s multiple blaster weapons he knew that too many targets would be problematic. So he resolved to change positions as much as possible. He stuck to cover, never in one spot for any more than a few seconds. He had an appreciation for Manhattan’s grid structured streets; he was able to log just how far up he’d moved. By now, a few minutes later he was two blocks up, one block to the left. He’d say that he’d moved about a couple hundred yards at most when he finally spotted a patrol of blue soldiers. Alpha hard-light drones programmed to go after the nearest enemy target.
He’d be more than happy to oblige their programming.
Whispering into his communicator he called back to the others, “Paladin to Covet and Anima, I’ve got a target. Call this a dry run to start, I’ve got a squad of eight drones in my view. It’ll be a three-block run for me, so I will be coming in hot.”
“Let me know when you’re ready, I will begin on your say.” the squad had stopped moving and seemed to go into a sentry mode, waiting to strike the first target they’d see.
Hopefully the plan wouldn’t go kafka the moment they executed it.

Thoughts: X-Men: Isolation? Location:[Danger Room] With: Team Alpha :: Jedi
It had worked! He didn’t think he, yet alone August, could probably pull it off. He wouldn’t tell the other that aloud about his mixed emotions given the task before them was relatively new. Yet, there they were, floating outside from the sewers, among a cumulative of their powers combined efforts. When he landed on the ground, gravity finally taking hold of him once again, a simple chuckle had escaped his lips. Of course, he wouldn’t foolishly laugh louder from that. He had no reason to gloat. The fight as far as he knew was far from over and they just succeeded in getting behind the enemies for now.
“I don’t know,” he said in regards to August mentioning a sauna. “I never got the appeal of sitting in a room full of chubby, old men, some who most likely didn’t take a shower before coming in, but hopefully I didn’t keep you cooking for too long. But...it worked!”
He raised his hand upwards and instantly, the sleek moist from their body pulled away, forming into a small ball of water, constantly rotating, above the palm of his hand. That could probably come in handy, so he kept his other hand tight around the handle of the gun itself and was ready to move once more, though he stopped when the aftermath of a loud crash and rumble was felt and heard.
“It seems we’ve missed a party of our own. Hopefully we can finish this off.”
He was just being hopeful at that point. To be honest, he was not sure who had even caused buildings to fall as they just emerged. It was interesting though that every war had a tale of it’s own to forge from different perspectives. This was no different despite that it was just a simple simulation. A simulation with the rules of reality. Like he was hoping, the fog proved true with his abilities. He could sense others nearby. Their facial recognition and the likes were an eluding mystery, but he raised his gun upwards, hoping August got the incentive to stop and motioned towards a nearby car to crouch behind. In just a few seconds, two random soldiers from the opposing side had emerged. They were confused, walking with caution. That worked really well for him as he did not attack directly.
“I’ll take the one on the left,” he stated. “He seems to be moving a bit slower than the other.”
The water dispersed from his hand, traveling upwards into the air as it made its path around the figure’s neck. Instantly, it seized around it and Marcel pulled back as the soldier was yanked away, gun dropping. While he was doing so, he was confident that Jedi had the other already taken care as he raised his gun on the downed figure, his foot planted firmly on their abdomen. It took a few rounds to the upper region of the chest to make the figure pixelate away into nothingness. A minor nuisance, but they had only gone down the road a little bit further when the voice came like a nail on the chalkboard. No, this was no mention to the actual sound he heard from his team’s leader somewhere among more explosions and the sounds of car alarms going off. He was referring to someone he thought was probably on the same level of annoyances and coincidentally, she was also the leader of the opposing team. Of course by now, August had to also know who they were dealing with and judging from the way she was talking, another person was with her while lighting the path before them up as a means to allow themselves to see properly. Fortunately, they appeared behind the angry female and her personal body...bag?
“Sneak into enemy lines,” he stated lowly to the other as if it were a question. “Check. Dealing with the Xenomorph Queen from hell? Oh boy…”
Just like he was playing Alien: Isolation, for the time being he kept himself low. He was right that someone else was with her and he could only surmise that it was Aren given how attached to the hip those two seemingly were. He had another idea, though he would have to see where it would get him. Fortunately for him, he knew how to go about it, dousing four cars off, but not the rest for an illusion of sorts. He began putting his powers to work once more, forty feet ahead of the two Omegas. They would see a reflection of Marcel and August, moving behind a car partially.
“This may be our chance to kill two birds with one stone...Two important big birds…” He shook his head a bit as the reflection revealed as if they were talking up ahead, their words lost on their targets from partially whispered tones. “We should isolate them. I’m not sure how much water will work against the proverbial hothead though, but maybe if I try something indirectly and go for the kill…”
He added more to this water mirror. For instance, he isolated Aren and Cissa’s own from it, having them appear in the reflection smaller than usual, a small distortion he was capable of doing. It would appear that August and Marcel were walking towards them directly. Marcel had the gun at the ready, aiming down the sights directly, the mirror moving slowly as if they were actually approaching the two. He even made the sounds of shoes pressing against the moist road possible by plucking at the water behind the reflection. His reflection played the role of raising his gun when he had done so, getting ready to take aim as he stared the front sights of the gun. His intent was Narcissa’s back. He pulled the hammer back and fired, four shots from the gun firing away, the once focused angle changing from the recoil itself. While they saw the reflection shooting, the real assault had come from behind. In the event he missed, he stayed true to what he suggested the first time: Keeping them isolated.
With the fog above and circulating through the air, he could do just that, his true intent being to remove Aren from the equation as soon as possible. Water against a man who changed sizes? That seemed more likely. He made his first move and so for now, whatever August did, as a teammate, he would have to support the matter.

Teamwork.
The concept obviously only worked if others were around you to participate. The light skinned mutant was slightly kicking himself for running off so hastily at the start of the simulation. He desired to play more of a supporting role throughout this entire exercise to witness how the other Omega's functioned. By reputation they were more powerhouse than their blue counterparts, willing to go the distance to get the objective done. That was an aspect to the team that MJ could appreciate and even respect. Micah liked to analyze and think his actions through, to take and decipher the details or patterns around him and react according to his own best judgement. He was curious to see how the other Omega's handled themselves. The power mimic would also keep an eye out for Felix. MJ had agreed to humor his new teammate Aren with the plan he had devised after all and Micah was a man of his word.
Casually sitting on the ground near the top entrance of the underground subway station with his back against the blue railing, Micah had his laser gun in one hand with his other in front of his face. Fingerless gloved hand laid flat a small swirling mass of black smoke and a multitude of mini orange embers conjured from his fingertips. Brown orbs relaxed as he watched the smoke and embers dance in a circular motion, his control was effortless and precise as he manipulated based from his willpower. He'd held on to his "smoke' power for a long time and knew how to control it, at the mention of some powers being dampened for the duration of this game between Alpha and Omega; he was curious how it might affect him if at all. The power mimic had mainly had to take care of the holograms of blue foot soldiers and that was without using his ability. Guess he'd come to find out soon enough when he encountered someone from Alpha.
"My girl and I are planning to ground any alphas wanting the high road, so if you're in a building, let us know before we bring it down." the voice that MJ didn't recognize was that of Blake and he had no idea who he might mean by his girl. His free hand closed making the swirling smoke and embers dissipate into nothingness, rising to his booted feet the light skinned teen was questioning if the one whom had spoke via comm link was even serious. MJ was all for keeping the pressure on the other team but was downing an entire building really necessary? Adjusting his grip on his laser gun his sharp glance went to the surroundings buildings in the area. Micah was positioned away from the majority however, the power mimic was grateful he stood next to the subway station entrance just in case. There was no way or indication to determine how far or near such a drastic plan might be about to take place. He could only keep his eyes sharp and wonder if such an action was more of a hindrance or benefit for the Omega's. Either way, they'll all just have to deal with it.
"Oh, I was planning to outplay the twits,”
"But if you need to flex for ’your girl’, I suppose the cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face strategy is just as well.”
"Thanks for the warning. Now we know to run out into the open before buildings start falling on our heads.” the outburst coated with pure venom at the response of the demolition plotter made MJ think someone had missed their morning coffee. It brought a small laugh to his lips. Peyton was the likely suspect of who had just spoke on the transmission, someone had warned Micah against getting in her way but he'd just shrugged it off. He enjoyed the company of people who showed they had backbones and weren't afraid to speak their minds.
"Won't be a dull moment t'have with dis group." MJ told himself as he rolled his shoulders lessening the tension and glancing around the vicinity. His comm fired up again, this time coming to his own private channel or so it seemed to Micah. “Yo, newb. Tall dark and potentially handsome because I didn’t see your face to make an assessment. You’re with Chameleon and I. Do you copy?” Reaching up to respond to Grace, the voice of whom he once again did not recognize, he was stopped short by the barrage of suppressing fire that opened up on him. Crouching down between the railing of the subway station and the building on his six MJ peeked over and saw it was only holograms from across the way, grand total of four annoyances. He'd deal with them quickly and respond back after. Like the small crew of pixelated attackers before them their aim was horrendous.
Remaining in cover while the beams shot far and wide MJ went to retaliate but just as he aimed him weapon over the railing the ground beneath him shook with a tremor and he had to steady himself to reclaim his balance. 'The hell was dat?'
Not having the time to worry about it the power mimic took position again and opened fire on the holograms.
His shots were swift and precise, each soldier exploded into a mass of digital information that dissipated into nothing one after the next. Once they were taken care of MJ heard a tremendous collapse in the distance followed by the rising of smoke and dust. Some of Team Omega had apparently succeeded in their goal of dropping a building or two. Micah could only shake his head at the level of destruction they had inflicted and the irresponsibility of the property damage and livelihood of those whom resided there. At least this was a sim for those who gave zero ********. To his surprise a manhole cover a few yards away from him shot into the air momentarily until it came down to the ground spinning a few times. Expecting someone to come out he pointed his weapon at the ready until it was clear no one or thing would emerge. Obviously finding it suspicious in regards to what just happened before he gave it another thought a pair of red and black appeared out the corner of his eyes.
Head turning MJ found it was a helluva lot easier to place a face than a voice coming through comm. As the female duo made up of Chameleon and Jinx approached him the light skinned southerner 'newb' gave them a small smile of apology. "Yo ladies, Ah was gonna respond but got flanked by a few soldiers," his southern accent ever noticable as he spoke to the girls. Always the observant and detail fiend Micah studied his two teammates before him. All three were unscratched in terms of sim health bars, possibly the girls hadn't encountered trouble or were good enough to have taken care of it without a problem. He'd never talked to either of them in the time since joining the Omega team but he was certain that the red headed one had decked an Alpha member not too long ago.
Hardly surprising that bit of gossip had circulated like wildfire amongst the facility. "Name's MJ, codename Imprint. Obviously newb Omega, pleasure to meet ya'll. The tall dark an' handsome thing still apply or...?" he joked lightly flashing a vibrant rare smile. MJ had a pretty cute smile, at least that's what most of his dates and ex-boyfriend had complimented to him. Perhaps it was because he didn't show it too often, who knows? He wasn't sure how the girls wanted to play this, he was with them so he'd just follow their directive and play support. The southerner had no idea what their powers were but didn't feel the need to ask either, if they wanted him to know he was sure they'd tell him. Ready to move and follow based on what they wanted to do MJ's attention left the girls for a moment as a fog rolled in past his knees coming up from the subway station stairs and the now open manhole cover a few yards away from the trio.
Looking from the girls back to the rising fog from below MJ's eyebrows rose questioningly, "Dat's not abnormal at all...either if ya ever seen Stephen King's horror movie called da Mist? It didn't end well." he stated casually.

Team:Omegas Location: Simulation Room Thinking:Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel
Charlie was quick to ask Kerrigan to team up with him, the redhead smiling agreeably. They had worked well together at the mall, and she always appreciated the opportunity to assess newer Omega's skills in training missions like this one. Mostly, it was to see where their weaknesses lie so that she could offer to help plug the holes, but a tiny part of her was always looking for new skills or moves that she could copy and adopt into her mental arsenal. She inquired as to why the boy wasn't teaming up with his other half (i.e. Christian), only to find out that the two had a wager of sorts. It made her laugh slightly, shaking her head.
"Fair enough," she said simply, slipping into her combat mentality as the exercise neared its start. "Let's kick some a**, then," she offered, giving him a grin before turning to Roland and wishing him good luck as well. Charlie asked if they had made a wager as well, the muscle mimic chuckling with a shake of her head.
"Nah, don't need to. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the competitors," she joked back, the exercise starting and chaos immediately seeming to erupt around them. Such scenarios weren't shocking to her anymore, the redhead immediately focusing on the task at hand and calling for her partner to keep up as she made her way into the alley closest to their location.
Get up. Get out of the firefight. Find a vantage point.
The thoughts whirled through her head as easily as her brain told her lungs to breathe. It was second nature to her now. Lucky, to his credit, hung back as a lookout as she scaled the building, the redhead returning the favor from her new position above the ground as he followed her upwards. It didn't take long for the comms to sound with the formulations of plans, Blake and Alice taking on the roles of demolition crew by announcing that they were going to start bringing down the buildings that either had Alphas in them or could be used by the Alphas to gain an advantage. Kerrigan was quick to relay their position to their teammates, wanting to make sure that the building they were on wasn't one of the first to be demolished. It wouldn't do any good for their vantage point to come crashing down beneath their feat. As much as she was a powerhouse on the Omegas, and as lucky as Lucky may be, it didn't seem like either of their powers would prove much use against a significant fall.
The pair made their way over the rooftops, looking in the direction of the sounds of a building that collapsed not too far from them, but thankfully left their position was left untouched. Not wanting to linger in the same place for too long, as anyone with the idea to get to higher ground would start finding less places to do so by the minute, she urged them onwards. The pair dropped down into the alleyway next to them, the probability sensor motioning to the roof of the building next to her. Weapon drawn, she nodded her agreement before following after him as he searched for the quickest way up. They climbed up onto either side of the alley, silently communicating with one another as they closed in on their prey.
Tara, Thomas and Alexander huddled below them, the earth manipulator holding up a shield of terra in one direction that was bolstered by the apparent shadow-weilding powers of the newer Alpha that she didn't know much about. It didn't take words for the two of them to formulate their plan - they would take positions in front of and behind the group, on either side of the alley. On his signal, Lucky would start shooting at the group, anticipating that they would surprise them and draw their attention in an attempt to defend themselves against it. Then, Kerrigan would resume fire from the other side. With luck, it would be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
She waited as her companion started firing on the group below, specifically looking for Tara's shield to move or weaken before she joined in the fun. As she watched their prey intently, she had to admit that she was impressed with Charlie's marksmanship. She suspected that it had something to do with his ability, though she would be lying if she said that she fully understood what it was he could do. When it seemed that he had sufficiently drawn their attention, she popped out from behind her area of cover, firing off several shots in quick succession.
(( O.O.C: I just worked a 15 hour day, so I apologize in advance if I missed anything. Please let me know if there is something wrong and I have no problem editing it once I get some sleep. Thank you! <3 ))

Running into Peyton, the Omega’s hurricane force of nature, was a stroke of luck. Sure, Christian couldn’t say he knew her that well, but they presented a very formidable set of powers. If any Alpha can somehow maintain their footing while under her tremendous gusts of breath, they’d also have to deal with either additional gunfire from him...or a werewolf barreling towards them. Whatever they ended up with, things wouldn’t look too good for them.
And both he and she had confidence in their abilities. As far as he was concerned, no one else stood a chance.
It didn’t take them long to get near the area Christian saw Kat and her friend retreat to. It looked like a park, and there were a few scattered holo-civs walking around. It didn’t take a lot of brains to realize that trying to find them would be hard, especially when there were innocent people lurking around. For all he knew, they could have tricked him and be actually hiding in one of the buildings near them. When Peyton caught up to him, he explained his master plan: the ‘ol bait maneuver. She evidently liked the plan, and encouraged his meat shield idea. He gave her a thumbs up and readied his gun and pointed it at the park. He needed to figure out how he was going to get their attention: simulation or not, it’s not like he can just start shooting everywhere: he was a good guy, and there still some sim-grunts walking around ready to fire on him.
They received a transmission from Blake, who stated his intent to level some buildings to flush out a few Alphas. It sounded like a solid idea, at first, but something made him feel off, like there was a detail that wasn’t quite mentioned aloud-
His confusion was interrupted when Peyton chimed in with her own message, broadcasted to everyone as well. Her reply was...not pleasant. There was a lot of scathing bark behind her words, and stressed how the idea was...less than optimal. For him, the team, the idea of being X-men.
When she was finished and mimed her response to the situation to him with her gun, prompting a slow but eventually chuckle out of him.She then turned the attention back to him to figure out how his plan would work exactly. “That’s the plan. Go wolf, flex some muscles, and get those softies to fire at me. I really hope that my health bar gets bigger, cuz I certainly-”
His response was cut short by the cacophonous sound of of seismic activity, followed by crunching metal, crumbling brickwork, and cracked foundation as buildings from far away began collapsing. Even out of his werewolf form, his sense of hearing was impressive...and led him to feel more of the destruction than he’d like. He turned his head to the sound of crunching...but was also distracted by the sound of broken glass around them. He looked up and saw two figures falling down from the building nearest them, he aimed his gun uncertainly at the figures as they plummeted and bounced off some spongy substance that came from nowhere, and they landed relatively safely. He nearly lowered his gun when the colors became noticeable: blue health bars.
Alphas.
Both girls, one of them landed a little closer to him and Peyton, looking up at them like a deer caught in the headlights. He took a look at Peyton, noting the incredulity of the situation. “Looks like they got the drop on us.” he said, before he trained his sights back on her. However, the one farthest away began firing at them, and Christian turned his body to try and shield his front from her shots. A few grazed him, but his lifebar didn’t take too many hits, just a slight decrease.
He tried running away from the shooter and ducked behind a dumpster. He and Peyton were both caught off guard...but it wasn’t irreversible. “Let’s warm up with them! One on ones!” he said, before he shot Peyton a rather sharp grin: one lined with teeth that looked too predatory for a human to have. He brought his communicator back up to his face, opening a comm to Blake specifically. “Hey cowboy, if you find yourself near the park, don’t knock any of these buildings down: we got this.”
He grunted suddenly as he switched off the communicator, slamming his back fiercely against the dumpster he covered behind as his form suddenly bulged, his skin seeming to rip as fur began to poke from the tears. Then, with a terrifying howl, his body burst when a spray of red steam and ripped pieces of what appeared to be rubbery flesh, all of which appeared to be dissolving into steam as it separated from his body. What lay in Christian’s place was no longer the tall jock, but a larger werewolf creature, hulking and savage in its behemoth presence. And indeed, his health bar did seem to increase to accommodate his new size, now an impressive length to truly befit such a monster. He let out a howl, before turning and grabbing the dumpster he hid behind. He grunted, then lifted the dumpster slightly off the floor before he sloppily tossed it in the Alpha’s direction. It may not have been a pitcher’s throw, but it was more to get them separated: and it did. The two girls split in order to avoid behind crushed by the giant metal container barreling towards them, but Christian wouldn’t let them rest.
He charged forward on all fours, his grotesque hands finding the frame of the dazed Alpha (Collin), and lifting her into the air, Lion King style. He snarled into her face, before he chucked her across the alley and through the window of the building opposite of the one she had apparently just flown out of. The sound of shattered glass and a body being flung through the lobby of an apparently sparsely populated apartment building caused the cyber citizens inside to begin panicking and trying to exit the premises. It was a good sign that he didn’t have to worry about casualties, especially once the hulking werewolf lept into the building and the panicking citizens picked up their pace. He lifted his gun, before a cyber-grunt showed up behind Collin. Christian snorted, before tossing it with such force to knock the grunt down. The message was clear: he didn’t need the gun to do damage.
He cracked his knuckles together and sauntered closer with slow steps. He didn’t know this Alpha as well as the others, so he couldn’t draw a name or power attached to it. Regardless, she was prey to him now. Peyton could surely handle the other one out there, Alex, all by herself. Katerina might have been his original target, but he couldn’t just let these two get away: more points for them! He pointed a clawed finger at her, before signing two words slowly: “dead” and “prey”. Then, he brought his thumb and slowly brought it across his throat in the all-too familiar threat.
The wolf had corned his quarry.

Simulation Room - Sub Levels - CLICK SPOILER FOR PRE-TIME SKIP
Katerina could only offer a baleful smile when Aurelie jumped to her defense once again. The cool force field that kept them separated made a faint buzzing sound that made her feel like her molars were vibrating when she leaned against it. Her swollen knuckles and sprained wrist were nothing. It was little more than a scraped knee or a paper cut. Nothing that wouldn’t heal in its own time. She knew that her best friend meant well and hated to see her in pain. That was the only reason she didn’t put up more of a fight. It made Aurelie feel better. It gave her a sense of purpose, a feeling that she could do something for her, while she was locked up.
The dark haired Italian was a little surprised at how angrily her typically friendly telekinetic reacted toward her not-so-secret crush. Katerina frowned at her assessment. How could she make Aurelie understand that this was the person he’d always been? This harsh, cruel, bloodthirsty soldier was someone Katerina could respect. Not the doting boy-child that doted over the helpless and hopeless Isabella Stone. He was a rabid wolf sleeping beside a lamb. It was unnatural. Wrong.
Her head tilted as gun-metal blue eyes assessed the former ballerina. She couldn’t quite tell what her little Aurelie was more upset over. Her ‘unfair’ incarceration or Rossi’s ‘betrayal’. “It matters, *mia amata.” [*my lovely]
“You assume too much because you haven’t seen the world as it is. You haven’t seen the world we were made from. It was never a charade. Every monster is the hero of his own story. He believes that the X-Men, that his Siren, that YOU would be safer if I were dead. Yes. He did try to kill me. He would have, if someone hadn’t of intervened. I tried to kill Isabella. I would have, if he hadn’t of intervened. We are the same. We will always be the same.”
The innocent blonde would never understand the point she was trying to make. Katerina both desperately loved and loathed her for it. She needed to understand that the world was full of morally gray areas. Aurelie needed to know that her friend, as much as she adored her, was dangerous to her. Katerina was dangerous to the telekinetic simply for the HYDRA agents that would never give up looking for her.
Katerina didn’t want to see her hurt. But she also didn’t want her caught unaware. If Aurelie couldn’t accept the truth about Rossi…How could she ever understand the truth about her?
Aurelie had such hope in her. Such faith.
Katerina wouldn’t know what to do when Aurelie realized that her affections and forgiveness were entirely undeserved.
Simulation Room - Sub Levels
Katerina was in a significantly better mood with the promise of hot cocoa and trashy television. Even after, the rules of this insipid little game were explained. There was just something fascinating about reality shows. She’d never really seen much of them before arriving to the institute but it felt like observing a gruesome train wreck. The shapeshifter felt trapped in a sense of morbid fascination that she couldn’t escape from. Aurelie seemed to enjoy watching her reactions as she watched it. These people did not behave like human beings or mutants that she had ever met.
Their conversation turned to Christian, as it occasionally did, considering Aurelie seemed to suspect there was something between them other than training. Katerina was blunt enough to acknowledge that he was easy on the eyes but there wasn’t anything in her demeanor that suggested more. “I mean…Who else is worth daydreaming about? Felix—Dart?”, the face she made looked like she’d swallowed a slug.
“No, grazie.”
From there they tested Aurelie’s shields on the move. They weren’t quite as impenetrable as she’d origionally hoped but they still offered an advantage that no one else really had. Mobile cover. She kind of liked the idea of trying to bank her shots off of Aurelie’s telekinetic ability. Katerina wasn’t sure if she had enough spatial awareness to pull it off though. There were some impossible angles that she would need to hit while compensating for how their targets moved. “We can go with the flow. I don’t want to get too tied down by one plan…Things like this are subject to change.”
Katerina merely raised a finely arched brow at the trouble that Gabriel had gotten himself into. Whatever happened to the shy inquisitive boy that she could make blush in two words? This was new. Strange. She wasn’t sure she liked it yet. After being shot out in the field he seemed to like doing the tango with dangerous situations. Baiting Solaris was like baiting a tigress protecting its cubs. Arrivederci, Gabriel Byrne. She rolled her eyes heavenward when he asked about what Feral could become. Didn’t any of these people check out any of the other mutants in the base? Ever?
“Yes...I suppose you could say he can turn vicious. He can rip your face off.”, she responded through the communicator. Gabriel did the sensible thing after that and deferred to her experience. As much as it was comforting to have Siege watching out for them from on high they would probably need him on ground level. She too had head the sounds of something big coming down. Truthfully, she wasn't surprised. If the Omega’s were planning on bringing down more buildings she had this odd scene in her head imagining Peyton as the big bad wolf. She watched in her mind’s eye as the angry blonde huffed, and puffed, and blew the building Gabriel was hiding in down. “I’m not sure it’s the best idea to be in tall structures. Come on down but keep your distance. Try and keep line of sight on us at all times and don’t camp.”
Campers were shot and murdered on sight. They didn’t keep their heads on swivel and tended to hard scope more than was necessary. She didn’t want Gabriel to get snuck up on.
Nevertheless…It didn’t seem that Christian or Peyton wanted to come out of hiding. That was disappointing. Katerina didn’t like waiting, especially since she’d clearly issued a challenge. It was right about when she was going to suggest that they move in that she heard a crash and saw two people fall out of a window. It was way too close to where she’d seen Omega movement. “Merda*.” [*s**t]
Katerina couldn’t tell who had fallen from their distance but she knew it wasn’t good. She loathed Stone. But she wasn’t wrong about keeping Feral and Sparrow at a distance. At first, she waited. The Alpha’s that had fallen might have been able to take care of themselves. When she heard an ear splitting howl fill the air she sighed deeply as the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. Anyone else that heard it should have felt fear. It was something straight out of a horror flick and very close by. Several crashes followed and the small brunette stomped her foot in irritation. These two rogue Alpha’s had ruined everything.
The former HYDRA agent vaulted off of the low roof with disgust. “Siege before you come down…Tell me what you can see.”
Katerina expected Aurelie to follow her and led the blonde closer to all of the noise. Thankfully, they were upwind, so the Werewolf in Canada, might not notice their scent closing in so easily. She sucked in a deep breath when she caught sight of Christian tossing a small female figure through a window. No, they definitely couldn’t handle this themselves. She saw a flash of yellow-gold and red in the other direction and realized that it was Peyton. They just HAD to split up, didn’t they.
“There's that wet dog smell.."
"We can sacrifice the Alpha girl that Feral is after and try and bring down Sparrow with numbers. Or… We can split up.”, Katerina muttered to her blonde ballerina under her breath. It was very clear that she was unhappy with this turn of events. She didn’t want to leave Aurelie for any reason. But, her best friend, being the bleeding heart softy that she was, wouldn’t want to give up on one of their teammates. Even if it meant gaining the upper hand in this game.
The choice was made quickly between the two of them. “Please…Don’t do anything I wouldn’t want you to Allegra... Siege, have her back. Always. I don’t care about anything else.”
Katerina felt hesitant…But her words to Gabriel were more of a threat. She was trusting him with her most precious thing. She hoped that he knew that, and that Allegra didn’t feel too handled. It was just a simulation. Right? Katerina wanted her safe and she had a propensity to overdo it. Katerina shifted at her friends’ side into the form of a Siberian Tiger. It was gross. Different from the way that Christian transformed, but still downright horrifying. Her skin moved and her body broke itself as she dropped down on all fours. She pressed her furry face against Allegra’s hand before slinking off into the darkness.
From here on out, she couldn’t communicate, and relied on animal instinct to find her enemy. This particular breed was nearly seven-hundred pounds, male, and equipped with razor sharp teeth and claws that could tear most mammals to shreds. While she’d thought her own 20/20 vision was rather decent in the dark it was easy to forget that animals were better when she got used to her own body. The tiger could see six times better than a human. Large paws carried her past the frightened holographic civilians that looked far more terrified of the werewolf than her. At least a tiger was something that could have been programmed in. A werewolf was something else entirely.
When she saw Christian it took everything in her to keep the animal mind under control. Tigers weren’t overly aggressive towards humans unless provoked but it didn’t like another animal in its territory. The intimidating roar that followed was coupled with an intensity that was capable of making the most hardened of humans and animals feel paralyzed with fear. Katerina didn’t expect Christian to react like that. He was the top of the food chain in his mind. But he would, acknowledge her. A low growl followed as she deliberately clicked her claws on the floor and neared the girl that Christian had thrown. She recognized her now. Collin.
Her body language was clear. Her growl, was a definite warning. The girl was hers.‘Back off.’

“Oh he can have that playing field all to himself.” Blake said, dismissing the idea of being a politician. “He’d hate me for running under a different party.” His grin showed teeth as he contemplated the idea. “The Democrats would eat it up though. And he would probably lose votes from the precious Republicans for not instilling family values into me.” Cocking an eyebrow, he shrugged before downing the rest of his whiskey. “Then again… the idea has some merit.”
Alice had to shrug her shoulders at that. “Maybe it isn’t such a terrible idea. The only pull you can have in this country is if you’re at the helm. You’d definitely be the hottest president in history.”The idea of Blake being president made her smile. All official and fancy one minute then a hat wearing, cowboy the next. It’d be hilarious. But a mutant as the president… They weren’t that close to making history yet.
The Texan delved into the real reason as to why he pushed for recruiting, and a mark of darkness overtook his expression at Alice’s question. “We’ll go with that instead of me being insistent on keeping my word.” He promised he’d be there. While he needed a night away to sort out how to pick up the pieces and move on, he still considered Bella a friend. He wouldn’t be like everyone else in her life… even if it killed him a little to stay.
The idea of taking Alice to one of his father’s events seemed like nothing more than a joke until she made a bet that she could charm all of them. “I usually wear a plain black and white suit. It’s tasteful and timeless. But I’ll switch to navy just for you.”
“You don’t think navy would be too much blue? Or would it really bring out the color in our eyes?”She batted her lashes at him before bursting out laughing. It was probably going to be a cold day in hell before they had the opportunity to put this little bet into action.
--Present Time--
Blake wanted to avoid certain alpha’s, but it went without saying who he would be teaming up with for the exercise. Alice had become a rope for him to hold onto, just in case he started to slip. “It’s not necessary, really.” He said regarding Bella. “At the end of the day, she’s still a friend. I just…” He searched for words that might soften how he felt. ”Don’t want to see her right now.” She told him to keep his eye on the prize, and he nodded. “I haven’t lost sight of that. Lord above knows Solaris won’t let it go if I waver even a little.”
Rather than waiting for the blues to make their appearance, Alice and Blake took matters into their own hands and decided to bring down the buildings. They gave out a warning to their teammates that the buildings were going down, and Peyton immediately started ripping them a new one - despite the fact that Narcissa agreed with the idea of smoking their adversaries out. Rolling his crystalline eyes toward the heavens, he shook his head. “I’ll beg your pardon, miss… but are you ever happy with anything anyone else does, or do you just like to blow off steam?” Seconds later, he grinned. “No pun intended, darlin’.”
“I think what the kind Texan means, is get your panties out of a twist and let the boss lady have a problem with it. Oh wait, she doesn’t.”Alice’s attitude was anything but refreshing, but she didn’t need some b***h mothering them. They were adults. They were mutants, and the knew what they were doing. Dammit, just shut the hell up. Wasn’t there a mute button on the coms?
Dust and debris clouded their view as the buildings crumbled, and it wasn’t until Alice yanked his arm to get down that he disintegrated into a cloud of molecules. The seismic wonder launched herself over the pile of debris as soon as she caught sight of their target and threw an attack against another structure.
He reformed to get a better view, but found himself rolling to dodge Eden’s shots. He fired his own, his shot much more precise, though he didn’t wait to see if it hit his target. Ducking behind the concrete slabs, he locked eyes with Bella for the first time since he’d dropped the emotional bomb on her. He hadn’t actually expected that she’d go for higher ground; his expression would tell her as much - he had wanted to avoid her. His mouth lifted to a smile, but no light touched it. She set her accusation, and he stood there for a moment. “No, Siren. Technically, we dropped it out from under you.” As soon as she lifted her hands, he disappeared, expecting a sonic scream.
He barely missed the brunt force of her attack before his body rematerialized elsewhere. His ears were still ringing. “Not everything is personal.” He murmured for her to hear before causing another explosion to a few buildings down, but his health bar didn’t decrease any more. Curious, he tilted his head and shot another civilian as a test. Nothing. “Fun fact, y’all. You lose a maximum of about a ⅓ of your health bar for killing civilians. Aftershock and I have maxed out the casualties.”
“Alphas near the debris. Once the dust and the mist - where ever that’s coming from settles, they should be easy pickings.”
The scream wasn’t as easily dodged by Alice as it was by Blake. She got the chance to get down behind a pile of rubble before the full blast it, causing her to grab her ears. Her teeth were tight together as she slammed her head back into the concrete, trying to get the vibrating sound out of her head.It felt like her brain was riding back seat in a NASCAR race. She had to move. And she had to do it right now.
With a deep breath, Alice took off, her hands dropping from her ears to pump at her side as she dove through the window of a building across the way. The glass shattered around her, cutting her arms and face a bit from where she wasn’t properly guarded. She rolled onto the floor of the dingy apartment back onto her feet and kept going. She passed through door after door until the sound wasn’t making her ears bleed.
She ended up on the third floor of the building, in one of the innermost hallways before her comm sparked to life. “Aftershock, where is your location?” The voice was definitely Blake’s, and he almost sounded worried. Cute.
She pressed her finger to her comm,“Coulda told me that b***h had a set of lungs on her.” She was panting, her head resting against the wall as she sunk down to the floor, sitting with her legs stretching across the hallway. “I’m in a building, gimme a sec before starting to tear them down.”Just as the words slipped out of her mouth, the building rumbled. “Son of a b***h!”She scurried up to her feet and took off for the window. Busting through the glass and landing on the fire-escape.
“God dammit, Cowboy!”The building swayed beneath her feet as it started to teeter before she dove for another building. Grabbing onto the fire-escape, her arms were tight from the hang as they swung her into place before she let go and dropped onto the next landing down. She moved as fast as she could down the stairs of the fire escape to avoid having the building come out from under her again.
Once she was down on the street, she let out a breath, her finger to the comm. “Don’t worry, I’m fine, d**k.”There wasn’t a long pause of silence before her bestie shot sass right back at her, "You left me in the dust. And I'm sorry my ability doesn't include tracking." She let her finger fall from the device as she stretched back, her hands on her hips as her head fell back, eyes closed.“I’m too old for this s**t.”

Gabriel Byrne Location: Simulation Thoughts: Repositioning, making my way into the fray.
Gabriel had just aligned his sights perfectly when he heard the rumbling and crashing. Judging by the plume of smoke that followed he guessed that the Omegas are on a warpath. They likely wanted to remove obstacles, and clear out any of Alphas that may be inside. Not a bad call to say the least in a training exercise. It could also force your opponent to rework their strategy, reroute their opponent in a fashion to force them into an opportune kill-zone.
Though he had doubts that the Omegas were doing that. They didn’t exactly strike him as the type to formulate that kind of strategy on their own.
He’d asked for Kat’s thoughts on how to proceed, his first thought being that it might be a good opportunity to extricate himself from the building. Much as the idea of sticking to observation and strict long range appealed to him, neither did getting crushed under a massive pile of rubble from having a building torn down from under him. His thoughts seemed to align with hers, as she suggested that he do likewise. Likely she had other ideas, as she did suggest that he not stick to one position. Not a bad idea, seeing that the enemy had a speedster in their arsenal. She’d asked for a sit rep before heading down, to which he obliged. Peering through his sights he saw that two of their own (Collin and Alex) had fallen out of a window and right in front of the enemy. Christian the furry one of the pair, had shifted into his feral form and gone to corner them. “I got eyes on wolf boy, he has them cornered.”
“Coming down now. I’ll cover you two.” he added, scrambling downstairs. Kat wanted him to watch out for Aurie no matter what, he replied very simply, “Understood.” he didn’t bother with going any further. He could tell in her voice that she meant what she said about it being a priority for him. Weapon raised he scanned the environment outside the entrance of the building, moving towards Allegra. He took note of the massive tiger that Kat had turned into, and also took note of the brutish Feral she appeared to be confronting. He fired off a few shots as he moved, something to draw the big guy’s attention just long enough to give Kat an opportunity to strike.
Slamming into cover near Aurie he was simple “So, how do you want to proceed from here?” his voice was somewhat playful, “Worse comes to worse you and I can move forward, I open fire while you use your abilities for a shield? Or just send me through with a shield, and you stick to cover? Up to you, but I don’t think we should dally for very long. Especially with Sparrow on the way.” he didn’t know how he’d do in a fire fight with a human wind tunnel, but it was certainly the first time for every thing.
Hey, perhaps he’d get a slug or two out this time around.
