Redkit whirled right after Leopardpaw scratched her. Her feet tangled beneath her, but she quickly sprawled them out to keep balance. Her flanks heaved with effort and her eyes darted from the ground, to the sky, to the cats, and all around. Her eyes rolled back into her head, and she staggered to one side. Then she blinked and bunched her muscles. In a heartbeat Hauntedheart was on top of her, digging deeply with finely hooked claws into her soft, fluffy belly. Redkit's jaws parted in another shrill yowl as her own little claws tried to scratch Hauntedheart's legs and belly. Her limbed flailed as she felt the warmth and energy bleeding out of her small body. A thought crossed her mind for the first time since she'd been bitted by the rabid vole.
Lusterkit...Snowkit...Mother...I don't know if I'll make it home again...

 [Leopardpaw watched helplessly as Hauntedheart dug her claws into the kit's belly. A flash of sanity entered the kit's eyes, just like Nightstreak. Her heart twisted.]
"Hauntedheart! Just..."
[Leopardpaw couldn't breathe. She squuezed the last words out.]
"Snap...her...neck..."
[Leopardpaw felt her legs begin to buckle. She stood straight, staring numbly at the scene, unable to help and feeling vulnerable. She had been through this before: and she did not want to go through it again.]

Redkit's mind whirled in and out of sanity. First she'd snarl, then wail, then spit and claws at Hauntedheart, then yowl in pain. Her belly was torn to shreds. It wouldn't be long before her innards would spew out over the earth. The pain was too great for her little mind to conceive, so to Redkit, she felt numb. But her blood-soaked fur reminded her of her wounds. Her squirming finally began to die down, and her eyes, still filled with eternal spite and bloodthirst, flashed towards the NightClan entrance. Her brother's familiar scent reached her.
"Lusterkit!...Lusterkit..."
She could barely manage a yowl. A dark ring formed around her vision. StarClan was calling to her...

[Lusterkit bounded into the strange camp. He saw his sister fall to the ground, her belly bleeding badly. He ran to her side, giving her furios licks as Redkit was beign called to StarClan.]
"Redkit... You will always be my sister. I will always love you. May StarClan welcome you..."
[Lusterkit wailed and turned on the black and golden she-cats, his tiny lips drawn back in a menacing (for a kit) snarl. He lashed out his claws at them.]
"Why did you kill my sister?!!"

Redkit felt reality slipping beneath her. She could no longer feel any pain, nor the bitter rain, only a serene sense of hollowness. For a moment, she could feel and scent her brother licked her soothingly, and hear his words. She struggled to keep herself on this earth for a few more heartbeats.
"Thank you...Goodbye...Lusterkit..."
...I love you, mother, Snowkit, Lusterkit...May StarClan be with you...
A small spasm rippled through her drenched body, and then it lie still, growing colder with each splatter of rain on her pelt. The droplets of water washed the foam from her jaws and blood from her belly, forming a little river of pale, diluted blood. At least, Redkit looked to be in a peaceful sleep, like back in the nursery, rather than infected with the Madness and killed by enemy cats in their camp...

[Lusterkit glared at the two she-cats after Redkit had stepped on to StarClan. He wailed again.]
"Why did you kill her? Why did you take her from me?!"
[Lusterkit registered to numb expressions on their faces but didn't care. He heaved his sister's limp body onto his back, and without waiting for a reply, began his march back to StormClan camp.]

 Eaglepaw ((Awkward place to bring Eaglepaw in >.< ))
All the commotion had finally woken Eaglepaw from his deep slumber. When he finally snapped his green eyes open, the metallic tang of blood greeted his nostrils. For a moment, he thought he was still dreaming, but the raindrops that were falling on his nose told him that he was not. Shaking moss from his pelt, he winced as he got to his feet, dried blood caked around the deep shoulder wound that Hauntedheart gave him. The first thing he saw was a kit carrying another limp form of a kit away from camp.
"Why's that kit giving another a piggy-back ride?"
He asked in a surprised tone, not making the connection between the blood and the bloodied form of the kit - like the innocent and clueless apprentice he was.

[Leopardpaw winced as Lusterkit's stinging words sank in. Her beautiful silver eyes clouded in emotional pain. She couldn't bring herself to smile at Eaglepaw's ignorant remark.]
"The kit...has been killed. She was infected with the Madness. The other kit... He's her brother. They were from StormClan. I can't..."
[Leopardpaw broke off and wobbled on unsteady legs into the spprentice's den. She sunk down into her nest and fell into a nightmare filled sleep. The scene with the kit kept replaying and replaying in her dreams.]

 ~Richkit~[Richkit closed his eyes and tried to calm down. He was shaken and didn't know what to think. After a little bit of being sprawled out on the ground he picked himself up and gave his sister an uncertain and scared glance.] ....to protect my family and my clan~

 Lavenderrain
[Lavenderrain looked down at Richkit.
She could feel his fear coming off his pelt.
She licked his head, and gathered them both up with her tail.
Flustered, her kits tumbled along in front of her brisk pace.]
"I think that's enough for one day." she mewed stiffly.
[They walked into the nursery, heads both turned back to watch the commotion.]
"In, in, in!" she hissed lightly, urging them forward.
[She herself couldn't rip her eyes away from the horrid scene.
After soothing her kits to sleep she padded to the clearing.
Staring after the kit carrying her kin back to camp she couldn't stop the tears from rolling down her face.]
Oh god... What about that poor kit's mother.. she thought horrified for her.
[She raced back to her sleeping kit's, curled herself around them and let their pure, innocent scents lull her to sleep.]

[Shiningkit woke to hear Lavenderrain talking. She pulled herself away from Moonflower and walked out of the warrior's den. Rain was still falling, Lavenderrain was shooing her kits into the nursery, and she smelled blood. No! she thought, panic rising in her mind. She ran over to the blood stain on the grass. She let out a silent wail of terror as her eyes turned red. She stood up straight now, her red eyes glinting in the moonlight. Shiningkit passed the nursery, crunching a dead leaf as she followed the scent trail to the entrance of camp.]

Lavenderrain
[Lavenderrain awoke ungracefully, shifting and rolling away from her kits.
Her dreams had been hunted with blood.
She shivered, as she heard a crunch of a leaf.
She popped her head out of the nursery, making sure that her kits had not awakened.
She spotted the fluffy white pelt of Shiningkit.]
"Shiningkit!" she mewed sharply.
"Where exactly do you think you're going?"

[Shiningkit turned around quickly. She stared at Lavenderrain with huge red eyes. Then they turned blue again. She looked around.] "How'd I get out here?" [she asked.] "I was just sleeping with Moonflower a few moments ago."

Eaglepaw Eaglepaw's clear green eyes widened in horror as Leopardpaw told him that the kit had been killed. The "Madness"...he had heard so much about that, yet he had never given it much thought since he thought it won't concern him, so long as he was careful not to be bitten by rapid cats or other animals. Now, however, staring at the puddles of blood in front of him, he finally realised what the horror of the Madness really meant.
His ears and tail drooped as he limped back to the Apprentice's den, dried blood still caking his shoulder from Hauntedheart's bite. He had no trouble finding Leopardpaw's golden and spotted tabby pelt, and padded towards her as quietly as he could. Laying himself down gently so not to disturb her, Eaglepaw pressed his own ginger pelt against hers, letting his own warmth seep over her and hoping to comfort her, in whatever ways he could.

Moonflower1214 (( sleeping-kirby-x_ plays Cloud, Dawnfrost, and Silverkit )) [Moonflower saw Fathom pad over. She turned to him.] "Hi, Fathom. Have you seen Shiningkit anywhere? And why everyone's so worked up?" [she looked around the clearing, searching for Shiningkit.] ((and Ailita, srry i think i'm a little too late to reply to fathom but I will anyway)) Dawnfrost dipped her head in response sensing his wariness of her. --- cloud stumbled back into camp his eyes closed,Ailita gave a mew of relief and ran to him "I was so worried" she said crying "what happend?" she was looking directly at his closed eyes "Ah, I was scrached in the eyes, they bled so i shut them, I can still see it just hurts to look" cloud said opening his eyes to slits as blood trickled out of them "everything is tinted red"
