There wasn't anything that could possibly be done to avoid the oncoming shock wave, and both Riza and Akima knew it. "Okay Akima just run through it and use your ice punch on Raichu," Riza called. She could tell that her Sneasel wasn't interested in being shocked again but she knew it would be inevitable. 'Perhaps investing in a protect tm wouldn't be such a bad idea,' the dark haired girl thought.

The words were barely out of her trainer's mouth and Akima was already speeding across the floor. She'd overran the electricity at first but it quickly changed direction and continued to chase after the Sneasel as she neared her target, preparing to smash her icy fist into the mouse. She was starting to feel tired and she knew she couldn't last much longer. The electricity from the shock wave carried itself into the Sneasel's body and suddenly she realized that if she could land a hit she'd probably manage to shock Raichu with his own attack in the process.

It was safe to say that Seraphim was feeling much healthier and energetic after her successful mega drain, and she didn't have to wait for Katie's command to know that it would be a good idea to let go of her target. On top of the Onix's head was a bad place to be if it were about to start burrowing under ground and the Roselia let go, landing gracefully on her feet as the rock snake burrowed deep underground behind her.

"Wow, it's still going, even after taking that mega drain," Katie whispered, more impressed with Roark and his abilities as a trainer now than she was before. "Well, we've got nothing else we can do, so use growth again, Seraphim!" Katie called. The flower nodded, and bowed her head before she concentrated on heightening her power yet again while she also prepared herself for the inevitable attack that would soon follow.

It took a moment or so for Kasiya to realize her PokeNav had started ringing, and it snapped her out of her depressed daze. She pulled the device out of her pocket, wondering who it could be. A part of her wanted it to be Mike, telling her how he was doing and if he was all right, but as soon as she saw the name on the screen she groaned and seriously just considered ending the call before it could begin. "Keegan," she grumbled, shaking the device as though it would change who was calling her. She jammed the talk button with her thumb and sighed heavily as she raised it to her ear. "What do you want?" she snapped loudly, causing several people to turn and look at her, but she didn't care. "Well?" she added impatiently when he didn't answer right away.

Surge was surprised to see the Sneasel outrunning the Shock Wave, and when she threw the Ice Punch towards Raichu, both he and the mouse suddenly realized what was about to happen. The Shock Wave struck Akima and as she smashed his jaw with an icy uppercut, and to add insult to injury the Raichu twitched as he felt the electricity from his own attack course through his body. The mouse shrieked and his tail stood up on end, as normally it probably shouldn't have hurt so much, but his weakened state left him vulnerable and susceptible to it. He staggered back a few steps, giving Akima a wobbly thumbs-up before he face-planted the floor, unable to continue battling.

Both the gentleman and his Pikachu stared in awe at their Lieutenant's fallen Raichu before the yellow-rodent started jumping up and down, waving the red flag all over the place. "Pikachu pika pi pika chuuu!" he cried, pointing at Riza and Akima.

"Raichu is unable to battle," Mr Reid said, bowing his head solemnly. "So that means, Miss Riza Harding is the winner!"

For a moment Surge just stared at his fainted Raichu, and then he started to laugh; a loud, echoing sound. He jumped down from his platform, heavy boots rattling the entire gym, and he began to clap. All the noise seemed to rouse Raichu and he slowly sat up, giving his head a shake. His body ached all over and the area from his chin down to his belly was covered in icy crystals from Akima's Ice Punch. He looked up as his master bend down and scooped him up off the floor, and he shrugged sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "'Ey, don't worry 'bout it, Raichu, you were great out there," he said, petting the mouse's head. Raichu grinned and scrambled onto his trainer's shoulder as Surge continued across the gym floor to Riza, where he held out his hand. "Congratulations, Riza," he said, beaming down at her before clapping her on the shoulder with a massive paw. "You did real good out there too," he added as Reid and his Pikachu approached them, carrying a golden box.

"Yes, my dear, well done," the elderly gentleman said, holding the box out to Riza. The Pikachu grinned and waved at her from his favourite perch, looking quite happy to have 'helped' referee such a good battle.

"Go ahead and take that," Surge said, nodding. "That box contains your winnings - a shiny new Thunder Badge, some prize money, and also TM34, the gym's trademark attack - Shock Wave! As you have already seen, it's quite a reliable move."

"Well Kokoro, looks like you're doing a pretty good job at hitting the targets. It'd be great if we could find some flying pokemon to battle though. I'm sure rocks aren't quite the same as living things even if they are pretty difficult to hit... Of course we've got more than fire on our side!" Claire said as she tapped the side of her head with her palm. "We've got Extrasensory! Okay, how about we try out using that to control the rocks? That way you can work on locking on to small, fast objects. We'll figure out how to work on your ability to keep stuff in your power later."

The Cyndaquil nodded at these suggestions and once again took her battle stance. This is gonna be fun! Kokoro always enjoyed using her psychic powers even if they were a bit mysterious to her. It was always amusing to bother random people that walked past by mentally shouting 'hey' or 'heads up' and seeing how people responded, especially if she wasn't visible and no one else was around. Though amusing, Kokoro kept these sessions to herself and seldom had a chance to tease others.

"Okay, the first one is gonna be a high lob. Try to keep it in the air as long as possible." Claire instructed as she tossed the golf ball sized rock into the air. It flew up into the murky darkness. Kokoro concentrated and began to glow a slight orange. Suddenly tendrils of psychic energy raced forth from the Cyndaquil and soon enveloped the rock. But Kokoro missed and the rock landed in the grass with a soft thud. It was harder to hit than I expected. she pouted.

Claire silently retrieved the rock and tossed it into the air once more. This time Kokoro managed to latch on to the rock. She managed to keep it aloft for five seconds before her concentration broke and the rock plummeted back to the ground. "Right. Now, let's try to get it up to a minute." Thus the training progressed for some time in this manner until the fire mouse managed the aforementioned goal. "Okay, from now on I'm just going to do random throws. You'll have to figure out where the rock is going and how fast. This way your reaction time will be better. Once you latch on try to keep it going for as long as possible." Claire instructed.

The first throw was a fast horizontal. Kokoro took note of the angle and focused her powers. Reaching out she put all her energy into where the rock was going in the next few seconds. There was a tug against her mind, but she would be stronger! The rock was captured and with a triumphant mew, the Cyndaquil lobbed the rock over into the woods with a forceful blast of energy! Ha, take that!

"OUCH!" a voice from the direction of the rock shouted. Suddenly a man in a black suit stumbled through the brush clutching his head. "Hey, were you the ones that tossed that rock at me?" the main exclaimed with an accusing finger pointed at Claire. "And if we were?" Claire responded. "Well, then you're going down you punk! And once I whomp you, you'll get lost ya hear?" With a flourish the man released another Pokemon into the clearing.

Excellent. Claire thought as his Pokemon became visible. Hovering slightly off the ground was a small red, bug pokemon-a Ledyba.

Jason couldn't believe his eyes. The ferry was huge from the outside sure, but somehow when you were actually on board the damn thing it seemed to just expand to endless proportions. This was no ferry, this was a cruise! A ship like this had to have anything imaginable and more, you could probably land a helicopter on it if you really wanted to. Jason forgot about the others for a moment as he decided to run run across the deck before to many more people got on. The sea air on deck was saltier then the air on the docks, or maybe that was just his imagination. It didn't even matter, Jason was more than content to take in a deep breath of the sea wind blowing in his face as he nearly fell overboard when he leaned over a rail to see how far down the waves were. He quickly pulled himself back though and fell on deck hard, laughing to himself as he scratched the back of his head, Zeus looking at him like he was insane or something. "Hey gimme a break. You've never been on a ship like this either. Enjoy it buddy, soak up some of that sun and stuff. Come on, let's go find the others. Ah, this place looks big enough, since he's just a youngster. Come on out Atlas, you get to enjoy yourself some of the sun too." Jason said with a grin as he tossed out his second pokeball to contain a pokemon and watched with excitement as the white beam of light turned into a small Onix a little taller than he was now. Atlas yawned as he curled up as best he could looking around. This was a nice breeze, though he would have preferred a dark cave and some earth for digging. "Hey I think you grew a bit. "Don't just lay there man! We've got to go exploring and meet people, you haven't seen my new friends yet. Don't get to close to the edge though, you'll be done for if you fall off the boat." Atlas didn't need to be told that. The 'magnet' in his head told him exactly where he was; away from land, though only by a few meters. Still, he was going to be very careful as he followed Jason around the boat. "Oi, Robin, Kasiya, Dante, Cynthia! You guys on the boat yet?" He called out loudly, getting odd looks from everyone who clearly didn't understand his plight.

+++++++++++++++++

"Yay!" Kenneth jumped up as he saw Raichu hit the floor, Riza being declared the winner soon after. "That was magnificent! Congratulations! Oh my I had chills the whole time I swear!" And Ken wasn't lying. He held his breath the whole time, it was something to watch and more! Akima was amazing, her speed and agility! Ah and Surge as well, with his sneak Body Slam attack! He was sure that Akima was done for, but she got out and kept coming back for more, powering through that last shockwave, truly a spectacle. "Bravo, from both you and your pokemon Riza darling, magnifico!" Ken couldn't stop cheering and clapping his hands, he was so excited for her that he may have over reacted a bit. Ah but no, this was her first gym badge, and battle! But he'd never know it if Crenu hadn't told him. She battled expertly!

Crenu was a little more reserved, in fact he was completely reserved. He made no sound, just watched with a tiny smirk as Akima delivered the final blow, impressed with her drive to not flinch in the face of lightning like that. Riza raised her well. "See that, she pulled it off. Hope you learned something." He said to Eris as he petted her, carefully placing her on his head as he got up(He'd gotten use to small pokemon sitting there thanks to Ulani and Snorunt). "You too Froslass. Did that Sneasel teach you anything interesting?" He looked back at Froslass and she nodded, though she wasn't really sure if she actually had learned anything. Crenu walked down, hopping over from the seats and down to where the field was, Froslass following him as he walked towards Riza. "Congratulations. You battled well." He said hands in his pockets as Froslass sank into the ground, making her way offer to Akima and floating up next to her, wanting to congratulate her as well. Froslass was a little envious, Akima was so strong and confident, she wished she could be like that as well. Maybe if she talked with her she could learn her secrets, but she was to nervous to do anything and just sank back into the ground, only her hear remaining above ground Meanwhile Crenu was unaware of his Froslass's affairs and was still focused on Riza, she really was amazing out there. Considering she went up against Surge for her first gym, very impressive. Crenu glanced over at Surge for a moment, wanting to look serious but still a bit of a smile remained in the corner of his mouth from Riza's victory. "Think you've got another loss in ya Lieutenant? I've come for a badge as well." He was sure of it now, he had to battle Surge. If anything to see how similar his daughter was in battling, but mostly because the only joy he got was through facing skilled opponents. He looked back at Riza and smiled a bit more. "Sorry if my advice didn't help that much. But you didn't need it anyway."

Keegan winced and pulled the phone away from his ear, having not expected to be yelled at so early in the conversation. He frowned and continued to look around, as a shouting, very angry blonde-haired girl would be much easier to spot than a normal, cheerful blonde. "Uh, hi," he said finally, bringing the device back up to his ear again, wondering just what could have set her off this time. Unless, of course, she'd witnessed the scene between him and Sasha, and if that were the case then he knew he was in a heap of trouble. "So," he went on, trying to keep his voice casual, "have you boarded the ship yet?"

When Robin saw all the people and their pokemon on just the first deck she figured that grabbing Luffy and Black*Star would be a good idea, she so did not want them to get lost. Or worse get into fights with other pokemon and cause some other people some trouble. "Black*Star! Luffy!" She cried hoping that her pokemon could hear her. Pushing her way through the crowd she spotted a small ruckus going on nearby. 'That might be one of them.' She thought frantically as she made her way over to it.

When she got there she was somewhat relieved at the sight of Black*Star in a brawl with a Charmander. Not quite sure what had started the fight, but then again knowing Black*Star it could have been anything, she ran over and dodging claws and a flaming tail she scooped Black*Star back up into her arms. "Black*Star don't get into fights for no reasons." Robin scolded as she took her pokeball out and recalled him into it. Turning to the other trainer she smiled apologetically to him. "I am super sorry about Black*Star there."

"Um, its all right." The guy muttered his attention at the more exposed parts of the trainer right in front of him. Unfortunately for him his girlfriend noticed and slapped him upside the head before glaring at Robin.

"All right then! I hope you guys have a fun trip!" Robin beamed at them not picking up on any conflict before heading off in search of Luffy. "Oi Luffy where are you?" She called looking all around for her Ambipom.

Luffy himself had bound up to the front of the ship and was perched up on the edge of the boat right up front. He was excited to get this journey started and he wanted to be right there when the boat started moving.

Meanwhile Dante had little to no problems finding his way around, unlike Robin he kept track of Hera and made sure she didn't wonder off even if she really wanted to. He watched the other girl run around for a second before shaking his head and was about to wonder off himself when he heard his name being called. Glancing behind him he spotted that Jason kid from earlier calling to them. Shrugging Dante headed on over Hera trotting happily at his side until he reached the kid. "Hey, I was the last one on the boat so I am pretty sure they are all here. Robin is looking for her pokemon though." He said that last part with a little distaste, for some reason that girl rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe that was what it was like with Turn A and Kenny? He thought to himself.

"I don't know where Kasiya is though." He said as he kept a sharp eye on Hera who was looking at the tiny Onix. Wait, tiny Onix? That didn't really make sense. Onix were supposed to be huge. "Why is your Onix tiny?" He asked before he could help it.

~~~~~~
Underground Roarks Onix was doing its best to keep its strength up as it dug in the normally soft for him soil. That attack had really drained him, he really didn't know if he was going to be able to go through with this attack. The only reason why he was even awake right now was because of his pride as a gym leaders pokemon. His trainer might be young but he knew what he was doing and he didn't want to let him down! With that thought in his head the Onix used the last of his strength to burst out of the ground.
Roark watched his Onix pop out of the ground impressively before just fainting right there. He had a feeling he had pushed his pokemon a bit to far after such a boosted attack against his weakness. Sighing he promised himself that he would give him a good sanding down when this battle was over. Recalling his Onix he gave a grim smile over to Katie. "Well that certainly was an impressive attack to bring down my Onix so quickly. However that won't work on my next and last pokemon." Roark promised as he put Onix's pokeball away before he let out a loud whistle calling in his last pokemon.
At the sound of Roarks piercing whistle a cry was heard and then suddenly a small grey and blue pokemon came leaping into the arena its two legs carrying it at an impressive speed. Using a rock as leverage it launched itself into the arena. Now standing there amidst the floating rocks created by Roarks Geodude earlier was an impressive looking Cranidos. "All right Cranidos, your my last hope in this battle! Roark said grinning down at his rare ancient pokemon, granted he had found a lot of fossil pokemon while digging. "All right Cranidos let's boost your speed with your Rock Polish." Roark needed his pokemon's speed up if he wanted to go through with his usual plan which sent a lot of inexperienced trainers packing.
The strong looking Cranidos let out a cry as it eyed the rose pokemon before him. Glowing a light blue Cranidos acquired a slight sheen as its speed was boosted.
Sasha looked to the ground, pretending to be interested in the dirt, not even realizing Eraku's Pidgey gently prodding her. However, the loud foghorn yanked her back into reality. "Eek!" she squeaked, scrambling to her feet. "Ze boat!" cried the girl, calling back to Kilik and Keegan, who had since disappeared. Sahsa looked to the distance and saw the redhead by the docks on his phone, and quickly ran towards him. Squeezing through people (probably making their days just a little better)
After clawing through the crowd Sasha made it to Keegan. She approached him cautiously, like a timid Stantler fawn. She wasn't sure how to deal with him after that kiss. She had never done that before, and even though she wanted to save it for someone special, it was still quite...fun. Sasha opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Keegan ripping the phone from his ear, nearly hitting her in the face. She barely dodged it, but soon realized why the redhead wanted to get it away so quickly. A very familiar, and very angry voice crackled from the other side. Merde! I forgot about Kasiya! She is going to be so mad at me! Sasha tugged her hair nervously. Kasiya was really nice, but it was usually the quiet and sweet ones that were the most terrifying when angered. She backed away and ran up the ramp. She had some explaining to do.
"Kasiya!" Sasha called out, cupping her hands to her mouth. "Kas!-Oh hey there she is." The pink haired girl spotted the blondie hanging over the side of the ship. Part of her wanted to dramatically cry out 'Don't do it! You have so much to live for!' but she felt that it wouldn't be so well received. Even though it wasn't really her fault, seeing Kasiya angry made the guilt crash on her like a wave. She felt so...whorey... She waited until the girl had hug up her 'nav to approach her. "Um...Kasiya...I..." she looked down at her shoes, her right foot drawing little guilty circles on the ship.
It took a few moments for it to sink in that Riza had won the battle, and it wasn't until she was being tackle hugged to the ground by a very happy Sneasel that she even realized the match was over. "Akima! You did it!" she laughed, wrapping her arms around the excited Pokemon and hugging her tightly. "I'm so proud of you!" She somehow managed to stand up, which was difficult to do seeing how her hands were trembling from the adrenaline rush, and because the Sneasel was throwing her off balance. Akima did hop down as everyone started to make their way out to the floor, and she looked up at Surge in awe. Even though she was very tall herself, Surge still towered over her by quite a bit. "Um, thank you, sir," she said, shaking his hand before nearly crumpling to the floor from the smack to her shoulder. It hadn't really hurt all that much, it was the sheer force of it. She looked over at the old man as he handed her the golden box, and she smiled and gave a little bow. "Thank you too, Sir," she said. "I've never had a battle quite like this one and I doubt I'll ever forget it. I learned so much!"
Akima, meanwhile, was quite amused by Froslass' shyness, and she knelt down so that she could look at her fellow ice-type in the eye. "Sneasel snee!" she said, nodding. It more or less meant that she didn't have to be afraid of her, and that she wanted to be friends. Eris, seeing that the scary fighting was over hopped down from Crenu's head and scampered over to where Sneasel and Froslass were, squeaking happily. She could only hope that she'd be as strong as Akima and that scary electric-mouse thing one day!
Riza turned back to Crenu and Kenneth as they had come over as well, and she couldn't help but smile happily at the both of them. "Don't be so silly, Shiro, your advice was quite helpful," she said, though the usage of his name wasn't a conscious effort this time. Her hands were still trebling with excitement as she opened the lid of the box to take a peek at her brand new badge. It was golden yellow and shaped like a sun. Not quite what she'd expected, but it was still beautiful to her. She looked back at Crenu and smiled again. "In fact I wouldn't have had the nerve to even challenge this gym if it weren't for you," she added. She closed the box and set it safely inside her black and white striped backpack before she jumped up and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "So thank you, too," she whispered.
Neither Katie nor Seraphim had been expecting the Onix to burst out of the ground, only to topple over unconscious a second or so later. The Roselia, however, was first to react and she grinned broadly before doing a little twirl and bowing. That big Onix had been pretty intimidating but she'd just proven that size didn't matter when it came to strength. Katie, meanwhile, was curiously pondering what Pokemon Roark would use last. The Geodude and Onix had been pretty predictable, but when the small grey and bluish Pokemon answered the gym leader's whistle, Katie couldn't help but stare. She'd read about Cranidos before and from what she could recall they were supposed to be extinct. "Oh wow, Cranidos," she said, unable to stop herself from using her Pokedex. "The head butt Pokemon," she read. "A lifelong jungle dweller from over 100 million years ago, it snaps obstructing trees using its iron-like skull." She snapped the device shut as Roark called for it to use rock polish, already trying to think of a plan to battle it.
"Okay Seraphim, I bet that thing's hard head is its primary weapon, so you might want to avoid that," she said. Seraphim nodded, as that was a pretty logical guess. "Try to slow it down with a stun spore," she called. The rosy Pokemon nodded a second time and raised her flowers high, sending out a large cloud of shiny golden yellow spores. If the Cranidos wanted to attack it would have to somehow get through the stun spore to do so.
Kasiya rolled her eyes at Keegan's nonchalant attitude - it seemed he was showing no remorse for his actions whatsoever. How very typical of him! "Yes, I'm already on board the ship," she said, looking down towards the pier. She was now able to see the redhead standing off to once side, looking around presumably for her. "I'm up here," she said, sighing heavily and waving her arm so that he would be able to see her. "I don't see why you care, though," she said once he'd looked her way, making sure that he'd be able to see the hurt expression she wore. "I mean really, Keegan. Not even out of Hoenn yet and you're finding yourself another girl? I don't even have words for that but you definitely owe me an explanation." Out of the corner of her eye she saw someone with bright pink hair and a red bandanna approach her, and she sighed. Oh great, did he send her up here to brag? she thought angrily, but one look at the guilty expression on Sasha's face and her anger began to subside. Perhaps there really was a good explanation for what had just happened, and she sighed heavily. "Okay look Keegan, I need a minute, so I'll call you back, okay?" Without waiting for a response she clicked the PokeNav off and stuffed it back in her pocket before she turned to Sasha.
"Uh... hey," she said quietly. She'd always liked Sasha, and she hoped that the normally bubbly girl would be able to shed some light on the situation.
Cynthia hadn't expected to lose sight of the kids once they'd ventured onto the ship, but it happened anyway, and though the Champion wasn't exactly devastated that she was now on her own, she did kind of miss their enthusiasm. It reminded her of why she'd chosen to become a trainer herself, quite a long time ago, and it brought back a lot of happy memories. She caught sight of a rather small Onix and her curiosity piqued, she followed after it, soon discovering that it belonged to Jason. "Oh, how adorable," she said, smiling at the young rock snake. "He mustn't be very old, how long have you had him?" she asked Jason, having missed Dante's very confused question of why the Onix was so very tiny.
As Raichu yawned loudly, Surge returned him to his Pokeball and nodded at Riza, though she was now hugging the young man who'd just asked for a match. "Sure thing, sonny, if ya want. As a gym leader it is my duty to accept all challenges." He clapped his hands together and laughed heartily. He'd been quite busy with challengers lately, and though he was losing a good majority of these matches he didn't care too much.
"Lieutenant," Mr Reid said, stepping forward. "Would you like me to take your Pokemon for healing?" Surge nodded and handed the gentleman the three Pokeballs that contained his exhausted Pokemon. Mr Reid then turned to Riza. "And you, Miss Harding? I could take care of your Pokemon as well. It'll only be a few moments, as we have a Pokemon Center-grade healing machine in the back room."
Jaeshan had stayed back once the battle had ended, applauding Riza and Akima's efforts once the battle was over. He wasn't too eager to get up close and personal with Lt Surge again, though he did eventually venture from his place on the sidelines, careful to avoid the embracing Riza and Crenu. He stepped into view and he cleared his throat. "Hello, Lieutenant," he said politely. "It's good to see you again. I bet you don't remember me, but I challenged your gym a while back." Though he was sure he didn't need to, he withdrew his Kanto badge case from his backpack and opened it so that Surge could see the Thunder Badge nestled within.
Surge leaned forward as the other, more familiar blonde boy stepped forward, and he nodded. "Haha, of course I remember ya," he laughed. "Put that badge away, I never forget a challenger, I tell you that. You're uh, Jake right?" When Jaeshan didn't answer, the man laughed harder. "Naw, I'm just pullin' yer leg. Good ta see you too, Jaeshan. You been keeping up with yer training?"
"Yes sir, uh, Lieutenant," Jaeshan nodded, chuckling a bit as well. He closed the badge case and put it back in his bag. He didn't know what else to say, and he didn't want to get in the way of the next battle so he stepped back again. So Crenu's gonna take on Surge next, eh? This ought to be good, he thought.
Sasha smiled nervously, finding it rather difficult to pick a good starting point for her explanation/apology. Nice ship, huh? No. Lovely weather we're having-no. Wow, now I know why you two are dating, Keegan's a great kis-NO! For the second time the girl found herself at a loss for words. This was starting to become annoying. She always had the answers for everything! Sasha took in a deep breath, figuring she's just wing it. "You see Kasiya," she began. "It all started this morning when me and Kirsa were walking around Slateport. Kirsa was still having trouble with the burns on her wrist," the girl winced at the thought, grabbing her own wrists unintentionally. "and I suddenly realized that I really needed a flying Pokemon. I looked one up, but they only lived in Kanto, so I took the train. Now Kasiya, permettez-moi de vous dire, that may have been the biggest mistake of my life. I have never been so embarrassed, humiliated, or assaulted more in my life!" Her face cycled through emotions like a kaleidescope. "That pervert Mazarin," she growled. "groped me, fondled me, and extorted a battle and a date out of me, just so he could tell me where Mike was! I wasn't about to do anything with that creep, so I knocked him out, tied him up, and made him tell me. After that I persuaded some guy to fly me here so I wouldn't miss the boat, but things got out of hand. Vous voyez, I wanted to have Keegan pretend that we were dating so the guy would buzz off, but he...took it a little too far... " Her face began to redden again. "You can't be mad at him , Kas, he was doing it to help me! It's my fault..." Her head drooped, a sorry sight indeed. "I'm really sorry..."
She took a deep breath and grabbed Kasiya's shoulders. "But Kas, it seems that Maz captured Mike and brought him to the asylum in Saffron, but he broke out of it!" A few people began to look over at the two girls, and she quickly lowered her voice down to a forceful whisper. "You hear that, he escaped! Of course that only makes it harder for us to find him, but at the very least he's out of their evil clutches! Kas, maybe he's in Sinnoh! Maybe we can find him!" She had to find him. He had risked his life to save her, and Kasiya, and Mitsu. Now it was him that needed saving, and she was going to protect him. "I've...I've got to help him..." her eyes began glisten with tears. "I need to let him know that there are still people that care about him."
The words were enough to make him flinch, and very nervously he looked up towards the ship where Kasiya was, feeling as though a hot poker had been jabbed through his heart when he saw the disappointed way she was looking at him. It reminded him all too much of the way his father always used to look at him, and he almost couldn't stand it. If she were acting this way from seeing him kissing Sasha, then he couldn't help but be absolutely terrified of her reaction if, no, when she were to find about his night with Mai - and he knew she inevitably would. All at once the guilt welled up inside of him to the point where he thought he was going to be sick, and he shut his eyes as though it would quell the horrible feeling. "N-no, that's n-not how i-it is, not a-at all," he stammered finally, shaking his head. He wanted badly to apologize though he didn't know how to say it and mean it, but by the time he'd gotten up enough nerve to try and say anything else she'd hung up. He hadn't noticed that Sasha had been there, nor did he see her board the ship. All he knew was that again, he'd screwed up, and again, he would pay the price for it. He wanted more than anything to just get out of there, but his feet felt as though they were wearing cement shoes, so he just stood there, not sure what to do now.
It was easy for Kasiya to see that Sasha felt bad for what had happened, and Kasiya couldn't help but feel compelled to listen to what Sasha had to say. She listened intently, nodding along as the story unfolded itself, though she became quite curious as to what Flying-type and Kanto-native Pokemon Sasha had wanted to capture. She did frown when Sasha mentioned Mazarin - she remembered well the creep with the ostentatious Charizard wings, as he'd been the one who chased after her and Mike as they'd left Slateport. That is, until Mike made him eat a fireball, but even then he'd ended up in Saffron City somehow. It sounded like Sasha had given him what he deserved though, and she couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the imagery of Maz knocked out and tied to a tree.
When she got to the part about getting Keegan to pretend he was her boyfriend in order to scare off yet another creep (Kasiya silently wondered how one girl could find so many in such a short time span), her heart sank. "You mean he... he wasn't... he was being..." she trailed off, looking over the railing to where the now-miserable redhead was standing. He hadn't done it out of spite or for any other reason than to help Sasha. In fact, he was being kind of heroic in his own, interesting way. "Oh man, I'm such an idiot," she murmured to herself, wanting nothing more than to run down there and throw her arms around him. She shouldn't have jumped to such hasty conclusions, as there indeed had been a perfectly reasonable and quite sound explanation.
She looked back at Sasha wide-eyed as she was now being held by the shoulders. "Asylum? In Saffron?" she repeated, trying her best to look shocked and surprised. "Wow, he escaped? I wonder how he pulled that off, he must have had some kind of help," she added, chuckling nervously. She didn't think that now was the best time for her to go around telling people that she'd aided Mike in his escape from the mental hospital in Saffron. Pushing those thoughts aside, she smiled weakly, bringing her arms up so that her hands were resting on Sasha's shoulders. "I know telling you not to worry is pointless, but you have to remember that he has Nitro and Portabello and Titanium with him," she said, nodding. "Three of the toughest Pokemon I know, and you know as well as I do that they'll watch out for him. Mike's in good uh, claws." She didn't think he was in Sinnoh, but the possibility could not be simply dismissed. They couldn't rule out anywhere as a possible destination for Mike, seeing as he had a large fiery, flying dragon to take him places. "I'm sure he's okay," she said quietly, but she didn't quite believe herself.
It was Disguise Time yet again for Mai as she strolled elegantly towards the docks, wearing three-inch heels, a deep purple miniskirt, white blouse, matching purple jacket and (very much non-prescription) horned-rim glasses. Her white-blonde hair was pulled up in a tight bun at the back of her head, and the fake ID badge pinned to her lapel indicated that she was a TV reporter from distant Johto, and the three Rocket grunts that would be accompanying her on this mission were disguised as her crew. Though there would have been nothing preventing the four of them from boarding the ship like regular trainers eager to visit the mysterious Sinnoh region, but Mai had not wanted them to be recognized as members of Team Rocket by anyone, especially the group of children that were by now quite painstakingly familiar with them. She wasn't at all surprised to see that most of the children were already on board the ship. She opened her bag and pulled out a headset and microphone, which she donned carefully so as not to muss up her hair. Once it was in place, she turned it on. "We've boarded," she said quietly, the message being relayed back to HQ in Viridian City. "It won't be long now, Sir."
Eraku was laying out on the bow of the boat just taking in the sights. There were trainers from everywhere here all to go to Sinnoh. “Wow this will be quite the trip” he said to himself sitting up. Hurricane was perched on a railing right next to him and apparently was taking a little nap. “Yeah it’s been quite the day buddy.” He said rustling the top of his best friends head. He looked around and noticed that the girl had come her with was now on the boat. She was talking to another girl and from the looks of it, it seemed Sasha was apologizing for something by the way she was looking very submissive to the other girl. “Well I’ll catch up with her later. We have plenty of time.” He said to himself. Eraku continued to look around and was amazed at the site. He saw Pokémon from all over, “maybe I’ll get to battle someone on the boat ride” he thought excitedly. He glanced back over towards the gangplank and noticed what appeared to be a news team getting on board. “Wow even the media is here. Maybe Uncle Blaine will watch! Blaine! Oh I haven’t even told him where I’m going...well I suppose I’ll get in touch with him at some point. He knows I’m old enough to take care of myself.” Eraku leaned out over the railing and looked out on the water before him. The fresh sea air was relaxing… “Hey you! Eraku was it?” someone said behind him. Eraku turned around and saw that as fate would have it the boy from the ferry he took back in Kanto was now on this boat to Sinnoh. “Uh hey surprise seeing you here. I thought you were going to see your parents?” Eraku said very surprised to see him here.
“Yeah well my parents decided I needed to go visit my grandparents over in Sinnoh so here I am.” the boy replied.
“Ah well that’s nice. How’s your wingull doing?” Eraku asked remembering the beach ball shaped wingull that this boy had before. A smile came across his face.
“He’s doing good. I took your advice and cut his snacks down a bit. He’s isn’t too happy about that. I know how about we have another battle just a little one to see how each other’s birds have been doing?” The boy asked excitedly.
“Sure sounds fine to me. You up for it Hurricane?” Eraku looked over to his pidgey and it was already fluttering by his side ready for a little action.
As the two guys squared off, Roy released his pokeball and out came the familiar looking wingull. To Eraku the thing still looked a bit out of shape but he had to admit it wasn’t as round as it was before. The wingull no longer resembled a beach ball with wings but more of a bowling ball with wings. “Alright Hurricane lets show ‘em what we’ve learned. Give it a gust.” Hurricane chirped happily at the thought of a fight and fluttered up into the air. The pidgey’s wings extended back almost till the two wing tips touched and then in the blink of an eye Hurricane shot them forward and shot a blast of air towards the wingull.
The wingull nearly evaded the move but caught the edge of the blast of air and was spun around. However the blast of air did manage to walk a passerby off his feet as he strayed too close to the battlefield. “Alright wingull our turn! Use your water gun!” Roy said to his companion. The Wingull reared back and looked as though it was gargling and then shot a steady stream of water right at Hurricane.
Crenu hadn't expected Riza to suddenly jump up like that, he was completely taken off guard by her tight embrace. Unable to ready himself mentally he couldn't help but to turn red a bit as he nodded. "N-No problem...Just glad I could help." It was true that Riza had some nervousness in her as she got ready for the gym battle, even when they had gotten inside. But all he had done was give her a little kiss on the cheek and her doubt seemed to have melted away. Crenu was sure that there was more to it, the sudden peck on the cheek was surely an unexpected shock that got her mind's focus away from her doubt and let her walk into the match confidently. And his advice, that could have been looked up by anyone really. He didn't think he really did anything special, but he decided to go with it. Besides...he didn't dislike it either. The redness in his face faded as he gather his composure and regained his senses. He put one of his arms around Riza and smiled slightly. "Regardless, you earned that badge thanks to your battling ability and the training you put in with your pokemon. That was all you, good job." Crenu looked back at Surge, it was nice to see that he had accepted his challenge so soon after his last battle. "Hope you're up for this, I'm not interested in a boring battle. And the names Crenu, not sonny. Shiro Crenu, from Ecruteak City in Johto. Don't underestimate me, I don't want to win to quickly." Crenu said calmly, but it wasn't arrogance or even confidence that made him talk this way to such a big and powerful man. Crenu was simply straight forward and all business, for him victory was the only outcome of any battle and if you didn't beleive that then a loss was that much closer.
Ken couldn't believe his eyes, Crenu blushing? Oh ho ho ho, this was rich! So perfect he wanted to take a picture and show everyone! A stone man he was not, even Crenu was human. "How cute! Oh you two are adorable, I can't even stand it! I'm not gonna be able to leave you two alone am I?" Ken said jokingly, but he stopped when Crenu shot him a venomous look that actually made him shiver a little. "Heh heh, oh relax I'm only joking. Come on honey, let's get out of the big meanies's way before he starts spewing flames at me." Kenneth turned around and started walking back to the seats, he was really looking forward to watching this battle. Crenu was sure to have his own unique battle style going up against Surge's create a spectacle that would be fun to watch. He'd only had one battle with Crenu lately, but Kenneth got a good feel for it. He liked to analyze things rather than react on the fly, which had it's advantages and disadvantages as well. Like in his last battle against Erika, clearly Crenu hadn't been able to calculate Attract's effect in his scenarios. But how would he do against Surge, very interesting as he battled very differently from Erika.
"Ah so everyone made it on, that's good. Man I'm so excited." Jason wasn't at all surprised to hear that Robin was looking for her pokemon, Luffy didn't seem like the type to sit still ever, and Black*Star was pretty energetic as well. Such funny pokemon she had, they were great! He didn't seem to notice the distaste in Dante's voice, or at least pretended not to. As far as he was concerned everyone he met today were friends with him at least, and that made them all friends as well. "Eh? Atlas?" Jason said as he looked at his Onix, who looked at him then at the auburn haired guy feeling a bit insulted. And then a blond woman came in and called him adorable! Atlas felt insulted and was starting to get angry, glaring at the two of them. Jason just laughed though and petted his Onix, which seemed to calm him down. "Yeah it's like Cynthia said. Guess she's not Champion for nothing eh? Old Atlas here is just a baby still. Hatched on the day of the festival, so like yesterday. Or the day before...I kinda forget. My concept of time...not so good. But anyway, yeah that's why he's small, compared to other onix." He said laughign again, after all the pokemon was as big as he was now. "But I don't think he's tiny for his age at all. Heh heh, he's just perfect. Oh, Cynthia are you gonna show me your pokemon so I can sketch 'em and stuff? I'm sure Dante would like to see also! Right Dante? Or we can do something else maybe? Come one guys we're on a cruise practically! Let's have a blast!" Jason had way to much energy, considering that he could suddenly drop dead asleep at any moment.
