Callista looked at him. "You know I'm going with you, right? You're not going home by yourself." If they do ask questions you can't answer, I'll be there to supply you with one.

He shook his head, "I'll be alright. It might be best if I talk to them alone first." I don't want my brothers to scare you... "Besides, won't your family be missing you?"

I won't be afraid. You'll be there. "I'm not going back until I get things sorted out in my head. If Daddy finds out that I've been alone with a male, he won't be pleased." She quickly changed the subject. "Can't I at least walk you home? That way if the vampire attacks you, you won't be by yourself?"

"You didn't. I knew what I was getting into when I came to find you after I grew. Ok, so I didn't know how things would play out, but I did know that my father wouldn't like me going to see you." She smiled. "But if you aren't afraid to go home, then I won't be. Daddy could use something to liven him up anyway." She started for the upper chamber.

Callista smiled and shifted into a wolf, bones cracking and muscles rippling. Yes, soon. She lopped off into the woods and off towards her family.

Valzar smiled amazed at how the unusual was becoming somewhat familiar to him. He began trotting off towards his own family's dwelling and began thinking about what he'd tell his father.

Callista stopped and looked back. Be Safe! She made it to the safety of her home and shifted back into her normal self. "Daddy? I'm home!"
Gregori came out of the shadows and hugged his daughter. "It is good to see my lovely daughter. You did not come home last rising. Is everything ok?"
Callista nodded. "Yes, Daddy. I ran into a vampire and had to hide. I'm sorry I didn't make it home..."
Gregori's eyes narrowed. "A vampire attacked my daughter? You will not go out anymore. Not until I have gotten rid of the vampire."
Callista frowned and shook her head. But Daddy, I made a friend, and I'm teaching them how to protect themselves against the vampire. They helped me when I got lost in the woods. I can't let them get attacked again!"
Gregori smiled. "Of course my daughter would want to help another." He hugged her. "You can go out, but not without a guard, my little chere. Is that clear?"
Callista nodded. "I'll take the wolves with me next time. I promies, Daddy!"

A few nights later after Finally being allowed out of the house again and ditching his brothers who had insisted on following him until various distractions in the form of a drow female, an icy dragon, and a pale moon pony had detained them, Valzar walked through the woods, alone hoping to meet a friend in the dark.

Callista was out with the wolves when she smelled it. She sent a howl skyward that told the wolves to go back home. She wove through the trees until she saw him. Valzar? She leaped and shifted in the air at him, landing on top of him. "Valzar!"
