Lula heard again that faint whistling hum... It was an odd sound... Hardly either of the sounds, but definitely some of both. She removed her blindfold, taking steps forward as she wondered at why she was all of a sudden hearing things she'd never heard before... Although she imagined that the blindfold and the over-stressing of her chakra system had had something to do with it. She sighed, finding herself suddenly at the target. Three shuriken had again hit the fringes, drilling this time into the hips and groin. And the other three were lodged in the dummy's stomach. She pulled them all out with a distracted expression, placing them all into her shuriken pouch and wondering at what she was going to do now... She pondered over the syllabus, deciding exactly what it was she needed (wanted) to do.MODIFIED 100 ft. BLINDFOLDED
Target Practice Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points.
Student loses ALL bonuses to their attacks, and the difficulty of hitting the target, on top of that, is raised.
1 - 11 = Miss 12 - 16 = Just hit (1 point) 17 - 18 = Stomach (2 points) 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged Training: 33/31 points Rewards: +3 Kunai, +3 Shuriken skill (or +6 in a specific ranged weapon category)

((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula sat down with the syllabus scroll in her lap, skimming through the lessons until a picture caught her eye. Ok... A group of pictures. The handseals. She nodded. She needed to learn them... And now was as good a time as any. She reviewed the seals and their names, looking for one that seemed like a good one to start with... Boar... It seemed like the simplest seal. And the important thing for any lesson was to start with the basics and work your way up. She studied the picture for a moment, made her hands into the fists she saw in the picture and placed them together, hoping for the best.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)]. DC: 12 Total Seals Learned: 0/12 **No Hp or Cp cost. Rewards: +1 Intelligence, +3 Concentration (one-time only)

((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Less than the best... It wasn't right. Her wrists weren't touching. She sighed and tried again. She stared at the picture for a moment, trying to make the picture come to life. She wasn't going to give up. Failing had only made the lesson more interesting. It wasn't as easy as shuriken practice. And she was going to push through it until she had it just right. She wasn't giving up until she had mastered all twelve seals. Boar. She had noticed that some shinobi say the names of the seals to remember them. Lula heard a note as she looked at the picture. That was the seal's note. She hummed that note as she tried again.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula messed it up again. She sighed... She pulled out her pennywhistle. Obviously the signs weren't responding to her voice... The flute might have a different effect. She played the note that she heard on the whistle, feeling the note out and attempting to put the note to the picture, and the picture to the seal. Closing her eyes she tried again. Boar. And the note resounded through her mind. She placed the whistle down and tried to form the seal once again.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Closer... But no cigar. She sighed... Alright, then... She flicked the pennywhistle to her lips, playing the note once more. But she didn't set it down before she formed the seal. This time she felt the note resounding through her body and formed the seal while still holding the whistle, before the note had even died away. She was hoping that the music might help her to form a better picture of it, and she was focusing wholeheartedly on the task at hand. There was nothing she wanted more than to finish this training and go on with her life. Her life being the studying of jutsu... Although she couldn't think of many off the top of her head that would benefit someone of her talents.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) And the flute only made the seal more cumbersome. But she wasn't giving up. She wanted to do this seal first, before any of the others. She had said that was what she was going to do, and she was standing by that. She closed her eyes, setting down her pennywhistle and feeling that note out again. She took a deep breath, forming her hands into those fists again. With another breath, she tried to push them together for the fourth time. She wasn't angry or frustrated, though. She was happy that something was giving her trouble. Otherwise it was all just fun and games, and there wouldn't be a point to it.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) And the note hummed through her body. It was more resonant than she had expected. She looked down at her hands. A perfect mirror image of the paper. YES! She'd finished the boar seal. Only eleven more to go! She laughed and looked back down at the paper. She chose the next seal: Dog. That looked like the next one up on the difficulty scale. She studied the parts of it. Her right hand curled into a fist. Her left hand flattened out, and she tried to put them together at the appropriate angle, which was noted off to the side. And this little puppy is going to be easier. I've got the hang of it, now!Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Maybe not as well as she thought. The note died off into the back of her mind. She had misjudged her technique. She sighed, breaking the handseal into its three primary parts and attempting to put them back together. Her right hand balled up into its fist again. Her left hand lay itself smooth. And she pictured the angle as best she could. She listened to the note and tried to sew that into the seal. She wasn't going to let something like incompetency drive her out of her profession. She needed handseals. So be it. She would have them.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula --once again-- misjudged the angle of approach. And her fingers were too far forward. She nodded. Ok, that's fine. I'll get it. She shook out her hands and got ready to get this right. Fist. Palm. Finger placement. Angle of placement. That had been her problem. She had only been watching three components, but looking at the picture, there was a very specific placement of the fingers. She closed her eyes and heard that note again. You can do this, lassie. But could she? Thatw was the question of the... Minute...Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) And she misjudged again... She wasn't irritated. She wasn't numb... She was enjoying this. It was all about challenges. Otherwise there just wasn't meaning to the whole thing. She grinned, taking the seal apart and trying once again to piece it together. She measured the tightness of her fist, the holding of her hand, and the angle of contact. She was going to get this right. And she was having fun while doing it. When was the time that every said being a shinobi was 'all work and no play?' but how is it supposed to be work when she enjoyed it?Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Lula felt the resonating note of the dog seal. She laughed like a child with a new toy. there wasn't anything except the training. The notes. The seals. The game. This is going to be a fun life, that's for sure. Being a shinobi can't be a chore. There just wasn't a way to be bored doing this. She chose the next seal: Tiger. She studied the picture, like before, and tried to wrap her fingers in the right position. She wasn't going to let this stand in her way. All she had was ten more seals to go.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Not quite. She smiled. She shook her hands out and tried again, weaving her fingers together one finger at a time. Let's see just how well I'm getting the hang of this, then... She concentrated on the picture. She was going to get it this time. She was sure of it. But damn, she was having fun. She might as well have been practicing with her shuriken. This was better than crack. She laughed at the comparison. She might be addicted to being a shinobi. And then what would happen? Would she feel compelled... For the rest of her life... To go to work and enjoy it?Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. ((Handseal roll = roll + 1)) Once again, she made all the same mistakes. She sighed. It was one thing to get something wrong. It was something else to get the same thing wrong twice. But she was keeping her attitude. There wasn't going to be anything to bring her down that day. Besides, she had nailed two of the best shots of her life... One of which she was blindfolded for. She looked back down at the tiger seal. She was going to get it this time. She was even more sure about it this time than the last time.Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible.
