Ted brightened as he smiled a bit. "Hey. What if we just keep him confused for a while while he play some 'catch?' If we can divert his attention, we might be able to sneak in a hit or two."

Joe shook his head. "I realized that, Takeshi, but we don't have too many options here. We'll just have to hope that we can do it." He punched Takeshi lightly on the shoulder. "If you're too afraid, Aurelie can do it."
He grinned over at her. "I agree with you. If we hit him more than once, he might take that as a challenge, or get even more pissed of than he will be already. So, it's a test of reflex and restraint."
Joe watched Ted's ability with interest. "That was nifty! I wish I had a cool trick like that." He sighed. "I'll find one eventually."

Samuel's eyes were half-lidded as he looked at the planning in front of him. "You know, you guys are forgetting me, right? Honestly, even though flames are currently my only proficiency, due to my Warlock's affinity for said element, but I also seem to have inherited another ability of his as well. It seems that the more I cast a specific form of spell, the less time and mana it takes to cast that spell form. The gains seem to be fairly minuscule at this point in time for everything except basic fireballs, which I was absurdly good at casting to begin with." He waved his hand and pointed a finger at the wall and a long chain of fireballs hit it, one after another, totaling about twenty, not that it was easily discernible in the first place, the action having only taken a mere five seconds. "As you can see, a fairly useful skill. Anything else at this time would be pointless, since I'm tired and rather frustrated, but this should be enough to be quite useful, even though it puts a decent drain on my daily mana reserves if I do it for too long. Two minutes would probably be the best I could do for two full hands of continuous streams, I think. Might be less, might be more. Depends upon how badly we need the use of flames on that scale. So where do I fit in this plan, from this info? I'm sure I'm at least of some use, regardless of the fact that I'm pretty mana-depleted as it is. The holder of the Titan's fists made me use way too much power running away. So what'll it be?"

"Well, I figure a quick torching should be good for an attack. Try frying his feet or something, maybe?" Takeshi suggested, ignoring Joe's remark. "I figure we have maybe a minute left to work out anything we missed. Anything?"

Joe shook his head. "I think we're good. Everyone, take up positions. Takeshi, I want you to chant every prayer you know, as loudly as you can. Everyone else, keep him distracted and try to hit him. Sam, if you can keep up continuous flames on him then we should be able to hit him the second he's distracted. Everyone ready?" Joe went and stood across the room from the door. "Get into a good position."

Aurelie nodded lightly, then stepped to take a position with her back to a wall, so she could survey the whole room. Making sure that she wasn't directly in front of anyone so that if someones attck missed Legion it wouldn't hit her, she held her hands up. Readying herself for the attack she nodded at Joe, Takeshi, Samuel, and then Ted, waiting.

Ted figured he would be best as backup fire. He stood slightly out of the circle, making sure that if anyone missed with magic, he could redirect. Hopefully. Still, it was better than nothing, and he figured he could keep his training under wraps for a bit longer, keep it a surprise from everyone else. Surprises are always nice.

((Timeskip forward for you guys is rapidly approaching, as well as a new character... in fact, it just happened.))
Legion appeared in the center of the room. Joe began yelling a Christian prayer, faltering momentarily, then faltering again as Takeshi began a Buddhist chant.
He was then consumed by a gout of fire from Samuel. When it died away, he was staring at his hands.
"Enough!" Legion yelled. Joe and Takeshi silenced themselves immediately. "Good. If nothing else, you learned about exploiting weaknesses and a bit better organization. I'm going to finish some final preparations for us. We should have a new ally meeting up with us soon." He spun on his heel and strode towards the door. "Your performance was outstanding on this exercise. Go now, and relax and prepare yourself for the next hour and a half before we strike."

One hour and twenty minutes later...

"Alan?"
"Yes, Josh?
"We are never doing this s**t again. Rig up your ******** teleporters. Now."
"Mmkay."
And so, in the nearby City of Trees and PhD's, Josh, Alan, Kayla, and Paul arrived after an excruciatingly long drive.

Paul was a bit slow getting out of the car, stretching out his long limbs as he stood. Long car trips were nothing he was unfamiliar with; his family had gone on horrible all-day car trips, though he'd been lucky enough to miss the Philadelphia to California drive. Patting his pocket just to remind himself that he still had both the iPod and the Glock, he examined the new safe-house, shrugged, and approached the door, giving a shot at opening it just in case it was unlocked.

"Yay!" Siber perked up his head as he felt a magic pulse, pocketed his pencil and book, and whirled to see the other guy. He strode over amiably, held out his hand, withdrew it, flourished a bow, straightened, and said, "My good Sir, it is a pleasure to meet you again! Ah! you still have your gun; I'm so happy to see it's not leveled at me. Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot; don't know if you remember my name; I sure as heck don't remember yours. I, my friend, am Siber." He finally extended his hand in earnest.

((...0.0 I SEE it!)) Paul accepted the out-stretched hand. "I do remember you. That was an interesting sequence of events, no?" Paul replied. "The name's Paul. Presumably there will be no need for me to shoot at you anymore," he added with a chuckle, hoping to all heaven he was right.

Joe nodded. "Excellent! Legion actually complimented us!"
Roland said proudly.
Joe smiled at Aurelie. "That was well done. I never would have thought of that." He grinned at everyone else. "And to all of you too! Amazing job!"
Joe walked out of the room smiling. He went up to his room and laid down, resting before they had to leave on their mission. He had a plan.
