"One thing at a time. I'm willing to stay up all night and day to make the necessary preparations." Gambler said and tilted her head to the side. "Bane? You mean Princey-poo?" It took her back to remember the dashingly handsome arrogant fool of a Prince from the Fae realm and nodded. Of course she remembered him, he was the one screaming after her when she left with her men. Good times.

Then it occured to her that the male she encountered at the flea market looked exactly like the former Prince from such a long time ago. It could be a coincidence but then again, the way that woman sudden lost her mind and cause, well, chaos and then he stepped in getting the woman to cease all activity. Oh damn. She actually had met that Prince yet he didn't recognized her. Maybe that was a good thing because only Heaven knew what he would have done to her in that point of time, even with Rave there.

"I know I have many flaws but I have other things that more than make up for them especially when it comes to stopping a whole army." She shrugged and looked at the Fae. "Why do you suddenly have interest in this city? Other than to stop the Unseelie of course, why now that you finally stop them when you have all the time and the necessary resources to stop them without involving the people here and heaven knows who else?" She asked them, wanting to know because to her it was just a all of a sudden thing and Gambler has had enough of all of a sudden problems happening.

Joker smiled boardly. "I might need one more kiss on this cheek to have for a good night." He said, pointing to his other cheek, joking with Kit.

Cyen and Alouthiani laughed merrily, as if she had just shared a hilarious joke. Just as they had settled down they took one look at each other and were off again in hysterics. "Ah how charming! The Seelie Court truly has no interest in this forsaken land. Area 6 is on the verge of signing it's soul over to the Unseelie Court unprompted." Alouthiani exclaimed between chuckles. "Interest. Really," she scoffed.

"What Alouthiani fails to relate to you is that the only reason that Seelie presence is even here is because Aria needs to display remarkable dedication to the Court laws and for some reason, she chose this place to do so. Also, it wouldn't do to let the Unseelie gain anymore territory than necessary."

Aria nodded seriously. "Bane will be keeping a low profile, always in chaotic situations, remaining calm. Like the eye of the storm. And he's powerful. His power was unimaginable before, but his magic had rules and restrictions then. He couldn't dishonor Hoa-Ki, and he had to abide by the higher moral expectations attached to his aristocracy and leadership. But now, he has no rules, no restrictions, no limitations. I can't even fathom the depth of his power now."

"And he's so handsome and charming. People flocked to him before, bent to his will and followed him blindly. That was all without the glamor," Alouthiani murmured thoughtfully. "He wasn't allowed to do that then, but now..." She only shook her head.

"I doubt anyone could resist Bane by sheer strength of will any longer," Cyen added and the other two Fae nodded in unanimous agreement. Even with his current betrayel still fresh, Bane was revered and respected. Out of fear instead of admiration. But respect is respect all the same.

Listening to the annoying creatures, Rave stayed silent, almost seeming to disappear with his stoic expression and silent demeanor. He was beginning to dislike these three creatures more than he disliked Eri; pointless little creatures who didn't see what he saw. There was more to this city than they had seen, Rave only knowing for when he left and explored when he was supposed to be resting.

But, there was no sound, no reaction from the man. His thoughts went to ways to do this without the Fae, mind going to Dusk, Talon, and Kalore. They were good against the glamor, able to somehow resist it because of their mixed blood. Or some other reason, no one knew. Eyes covered with his dark hair, the beautiful man continued to stand there, just listening to what was said around him.

Grinning, Kit leaned over and kissed the man on his cheek softly, "There. I hope Joker can now get home with a smile. You don't want to stay out too late, hon."

Gambler clenched her jaw and narrowed her gaze. Did they really just laugh at her? That wasn't a good thing, especially when she never forgives or forgets mockery thrown her way in a serious time. Fae where such special people to her but then they started to talk about the former prince and how handsome he is without using glamor.

She gave to them about the information but what they fail to know was that she was the only other person that could resist such a charming man. "Then perhaps you should learn a thing or two from him if you keep throwing your glamor at my companion. Aside from him being as cold as ice, it clearly didn't warm him up. As for following a idiot like Bane," She leaned forward slightly. "Men like him never last and they don't have any effect on me."

Straightening up, she looked at the fae like insects. "Aside from Aria, you two have no general respect or idea what this city really is. You haven't even taken the time to truly see this place for what it really is and to understand that a higher power does protect and rule this city in a fair and just manner. You think me a fool? A weakling? A being capable of allowing a pretty face to sway me and my decisions? Then my dearests, you haven't truly lived life." She said, looking at them bored.

"Now, if you want my help, you will tell me intimate details about these Unseelie court. I want to the do's and dont's, the weaknesses and strenghts, what makes them happy and what makes them ticked off. I want to know as much as possible to what cereal they eat. That is why you came here and if you can't supply me with what I need so that I, as the leader and boss here, can properly defend my keep, then you two can leave my city and we shall see what the Unseelie does to my city because the only thing they will be breaking is my buildings and not my people." She said, her voice stern and commanding, leaving no room for insolence from the Fae.

Joker sighed and kissed his finger to place them on Kit's cheek in a endearing gesture. "I shall return to my home safe and sound with the kiss of protection, but what about you? Will you be safe going home?" He asked, genuinely concerned for her.

Kit smiled at him, nodding slightly, "I'll be fine. I survive every night. If something happens, I've got Eri backing me up. People know that I work for him, and as much as Red might hate him, Eri protects his people." Another smile and she kissed his cheek again. "Now get going before I just keep you here, okay?"

Listening to what Gambler said, Rave wanted to smile, but not only did his body never allow him to smile in public, he wouldn't ever do something like that in front of these things. They hadn't shown anything to him or her to show any use, so why give them any sense of who either of them were? They were just useless bugs in his mind. Aria had some use, only safe because of the slight respect she showed them at first.

Alouthiani sneered a moment at Gambler, slightly amused by her perseption of her superiority. This woman was the leader in power here, but she didn't get it. "Oh if you banish us then we leave and take Aria with us, she loses any hope of being part of the Seelie Court and is forced to leave whatever nonsensical ties to this land behind." She said callously.

Alouthiani and Cyen weren't bad people, it was how they were conditioned to think. It was how their logic worked. Alouthiani understood the Unseelie Court knew their absurd rituals. Knew their schedule, knew what made them tick. Cyen knew only how to destroy them. They were tactical thinkers sent into a possible battle ground. They checked their emotion in at the door. The only place that hand any emotional meaning to them was the Home Lands. Respect towards a world with no relevance to them seemed pointless.

Aria turned toward Alouthiani and Cyen, "please! Don't be so difficult! What a failure and disgrace will I be to be the first Van Alen to not belong to the Seelie Court. Come, tell her what she needs to know."

Cyen sighed and arched his brow, "I do not know what all we can tell you. Unseelie Fae thrive off of chaos, we Seelie get our magic from our Goddess and Great Mother Hoa-Ki, while we meditate we pass under Her gaze. Everyday She passes judgement. Everyday our magic relies on how we glorify Her. She is..." he realized he was getting carried away, swept up in his feelings toward their Great Mother. He sobered, "The Unseelie used to be of the Seelie Court. We used to be a unified people, the Olde Songs told of our unity. But the Unseelie Court rejected Hoa-Ki. They get their magic from a darker Lord now..." A shadow passed over all of their faces.

"I feel exposed speaking of this in the open, tell me, is there a place where we can meet more privately?" Aria asked suddenly paranoid. "Excuse my interruption..."

Gambler was not acting all superior. The only one superior in her mind was the one she would forever answer to, fear and love and that person was God himself. Anyone could think she was superior but she had a background to back it up and some people just didn't have long enough life spans to hear all of it.

For starters, the only one of the Fae here that seemed to have their feet grounded was Aria. There was some form of respect for her because she had revealed personal things that most would have rejected to do and move on to bigger and better things. No, she respected Aria for doing a one woman crusade for herself and for her family.

As for these two Fae, they presented themselves far above anyone here and they might be high ranking nobles of their people. Who knew? It mattered not because in this city everyone, rich and poor, beautiful and ugly were all treated equally and if you didn't like it, well she had a demon who would more than happily take them to a little, well it was HUGE, place called Hell.

Yes, these two Fae would have to be the ones with the rest if they come to watch out for. The female fae looked like she would stab someone in the back in a heart beat. Looking at Cyen, however, she was alittle reserved on him. Then again he was insolent as his female companion. "You know with all due respect but wouldn't it be a shame if your Great Mother saw the kind of manners your showing me? Do be surprised if you get back what you dished out to me." The boss said in a calm tone.

Her gaze turned on Aria but it was full of patience. "If there is a secured place you feel comfortable with then lead the way but know this, if your playing games with me, not only will the Unseelie get to have my playground and get to breathe down your necks, but you get my peoples as well. Believe me, you don't want them mad." She said sweetly and giving them a charming smile. If you didn't know her, you would have thought she was joking but she wasn't and that was a fair warning.

Joker chuckled. "Becareful Kit. I might consider that a invitation." He said waggling his finger at her and blew a kiss to her, bowed and started to leave.

Listening to what was said, Rave continued to stand where he was, looking almost like a statue as he gave no reaction to what was being said. He didn't need to. If he was needed, then Rave was more than happy to tear apart those who were of no use or were a threat.

Kit grinned and watched him as he left, whispering, "It might be one, actually..."

A strange eery calm passed over Alouthiani and only the two other Fae could sense the strange, electric hostility that charged her aura now. "Wingam, peace, Alouthiani, she knows not her error." Cyen murmured and turned his gaze to the oddly quiet Rave. "Practice civility, patience, and understanding. They do not know of Hoa-Ki just as we know little of their deity." He said, his voice soothing and calm. He matched Rave's stoic expression but inside he was enraged, deeply offended. For Hoa-Ki to be referenced in such a way. But it wouldn't do to emulate his hotheaded partner. So he kept a cool head.

Aria shook her head. "Please excuse them. You must understand they can't afford to get attached to anything or anyone here, or things will get personal, like it has for me. For me, there is no going back. They don't understand how to tread the line of humility and servitude." Aria turned to face Alouthiani and frowned. "And they will do their best to respect your authority from now on." She said deliberately and Alouthiani's cold exterior melted into a carefully arranged aloof expression.

"Yes. From now on we'll keep our manners in check 'lest we offend our Great Mother." She murmured, struggling to keep the words from hissing through her clenched teeth. Cyen only nodded.

Aria turned away from them and met Gambler's gaze sincerely. She walked past her and towards the tree. Aria placed her palm on it's rough bark and allowed herself to melt into it, through the Earth, finding a place that she knew would ease the tensions. She found it then, a sanctified building. A church erected to glorify a god they've only heard of. But a church's meaning belonged only to the worshipers that attended. "I've found a place not far off from here. We can travel there together and discuss matters along the way. But if only that is alright with you."

Glancing up, Rave only looked into Aria's eyes as his silky voice was once again heard, "Getting attached, and showing respect are different things, Miss Aria. Your companions would do well to remember this." His eyes turned to Gambler, glancing at her only to gauge her reactions. If he got annoyed with their insolence, surely she was livid. "Shall we go, Gambler? Or leave?"

He only said the second option because Rave knew that they had something that the Fae didn't know about. People that knew the Unseelie and weren't affected. Aria knew of one of them, but no one knew of the other two but him and Dusk. Help would be useful though, but the man would much rather deal with the Unseelie then the insolence of these overgrown children.

Gambler was livid but did she show it? No. Emotions couldn't get in the way of business because then she would be walking a fine line between logic and emotions, especially her anger. Though, she was a mischievious little seraph that couldn't help but be sarcastic. "Be still, Rave." She said gently, touching his hand. "I want to hear what they have to say. It's the lest I can do for them being so mean to me." Boy, she was something else.

"And don't talk about your Great Mother that way. You know they do hear you and it's not nice to piss them off." She mocked scolded them as she pointed to the heavens to emphasize her point and looked at Aria with the same patience she didn't give to the annoying Fae. "As for that place? Let's hope I don't burst into flames." She said, nodding to the choice of place to discuss this. Though after her comment she propable guessed that the fae would be glad if she did burst into flames.

Cyen and Alouthiani looked both as if they had been slapped across the face. Alouthiani's face twisted into a snarl and even Cyen's face fell into a frown. Aria even felt offended although she fared far better than the other in her attempts in masking her frustration. Something about speaking about Hoa-Ki in a tone in any other way than pure unadulterated adoration seemed foul and wrong. Aria only shook her head. "Peace. We must remember we are not each other's enemies. The Unseelie is our enemy and that should bind us together."

Alouthiani felt her hands curl into tight fists at her side. "I wonder should we even strive for peace with these-"

"Peace!" Aria shrieked and threw her magic out from her, sending a strong wave of sedative energy. "We will not reduce ourselves to bickering!" She turned to Gambler, finally unleashing the source of her nobility and disregarding humility. "They are not so different from you. Pride and stubborn tendencies were hammered into them as though it were a birth right. You will not back down, you will have your way. They will not back down, they will have their way. Differences in culture make peace and harmony between our people difficult but not impossible." She then turned to Alouthiani and Cyen. "And stop acting like this is all so beneath you. We are the Seelie Court. We strive to better all we touch, even lands that give us no tactical advantage in our war against the Unseelie." She inhaled deeply and drew her power back into her. "I will not have worked this hard to have all of my efforts wasted by stubborn prideful people. All of you! This is what the Unseelie crave! This is what they have been striving to reduce us to!"

Cyen sighed and placed a hand on Aria's shoulder, which immediately calmed her down. "You speak with the wisdom of a Seelie Court Queen. I will do my best to be diplomatic and peaceable. And so will Alouthiani."

Alouthiani nodded and saluted Aria. Gambler and Rave could trust their word. It was binding. Aria inhaled again and centered herself. "Forgive my outburst. Let us try to strive toward better relations with each other. Now, please, as we walk ask more questions of Cyen and Alouthiani, they will give you all of the information you seek."

Listening to the girl's outburst, Rave finally moved slightly, tilting his head to the side. "As you wish." The words that he had spoken to Gambler so often didn't hold the same loving air, but a haunting tone to them. Even though Rave was one of the most respected men in his home, all of the elves and most of the fae even knew who he was and respected him, he lowered himself to working under someone because this wasn't his home, his land, but hers. It was the proper etiquette that those who wanted respect practiced.

He glanced over at Gambler, his now silver eyes showing how tight of a leash he was putting himself on. If this were just him, he would have walked out long ago. Leaving the Fae to deal with the creatures he could summon from his shadows, leaving them to death. But here, and under her supervision, that wasn't allowed. Sadly.
PostPosted: Thu May 06, 2010 8:14 pm

Gambler's neutral gaze turned ice cold as she looked at all three of the fae. The woman couldn't afford pride because such a thing was easily taken away or broken so if that's what the Fae thought it was then fine.

"They know my questions, I won't repeat myself if someone who views me and my city as beneath them again. One time should have been enough." She said calmly, her tone steel. She wanted to hear what Alouthiani had to say because she would have loved to turn her inside out with a snap of her fingers. That would teach a temptress such as her to bad mouth people.

Man, she wanted to snap their necks and feed them to the hounds of hell already but she wanted information and a now small part of her wanted to still help Aria get her place among her people but if it was going to cost her greatly then she had to have a hell of a good reason in doing so otherwise she would most likely sacrifice a alliance with Aria and cost a friendship with her if this gets out of hand.

Aria sighed and felt an overwhelming sadness overcome her. At this rate, the pure uncooperation would cost her her place amongst her people, but more importantly than that she would undoubtedly lose Logan. Bane had seen into her soul when he saw Logan. Saw her vulnerable expression with him before she had a moment to guard herself. She knew he would stop at nothing to break Aria and the sure fire way to do that was to get Logan.

Alouthiani seemed to sense the sadness that now hung over the usually sunshiney Aria like a grey cloud and even she managed to swallow her attitude. "The Unseelie are incredibly ritualistic. Handing over our Great Mother for the Dark Lord, they've betrayed and deeply offended our Mother's limitless grace. Each day, we meditate, going to our Mother, worshipping and blessing Her. The Unseelie do the same, glorifying their Dark Master with chaos, destruction, and evil."

Cyen chimed in then, "Killing the Unseelie is easy enough, a stab through the heart or the head. They are no where near invincible. But they are resiliant, and they fight brutally. Our two sides have faced off on a battle field twice, and twice only. The most effective way to drive out their poison and keep casualties low is to keep their hold on an area lose. The Unseelie see only deceit. The only way to get them to leave is if their Master is challenged and our Great Mother is personified in one of our Fae."

It was Aria's turn to frown then. "Hoa-Ki chooses which of the Seelie is worthy enough to become a vessel for her word. Sometimes she appears and annihilates our advisary. Sometimes no Fae can be blessed with that honor. And in that case the Unseelie and their Master are victors. Their Master will come in physical form, and they will wreak a havoc like none you have ever seen. But if Hoa-Ki chooses a Fae, this land will become blessed in the Great Mother's glory, and will eternally be peaceful. I'm sorry to say that Area 6 happens to be the next stage in our war. I'm sad to say that our trials have now become your burden but..." she shrugged and began walking towards the church, wordless.

"Should you chose to reject the aid of the Seelie Court the Dark Master's presence will arrive with a quickness with no opposition to stand against it," Cyen said in his dry analytical voice again. His pupils dialating as he broke his trance and focused on Gambler. "I have no doubt that you will fight valiantly. But may Hoa-Ki have mercy on your downfall, and cushion your landing. No world that has stood up to the Unseelie unprotected has emerged victorious."
