Its a valuable resource.
I mean, in the game Homeworld, its a good way to steal about 120 capital ships to your fleet.

Its annoying. How would you feel if your enemy was invisible, and you had to track him down?
Garunteed, it wouldn't be impossible, but it would be like Predator the movie.

*cale uses cloakign device trying to sneak up on Neb*
Neb: I know you're there cale. Cale: How'd you know that? Neb: I'm a jedi. I know everything. Now where have you been? Cale: I thought you knew everything. Neb: I do, but I'm making an attempt to appear that I don't, to confuse you. Cale: Huh?

I have yet to see a personal cloaking device in star wars. Holoimagers yeah, but Cloaking devices are another thing entirely.

Get the Hapans working on it. They can make a jammer twice as powerful as an A-wing's fit into a My'til starfighter, and have room for another power generator.
they're masters at microtechnology.

I worry enough about jedi controling my brain as it is. plus the Hapan are ultra nationalistic and paranoid. outdated turbolaser tech aside, they patrol their homeland and shoot first ask questions later.

Even with turbolaser technology lacking... I wonder why they never stole some NR technology when trying to court princess leia...
But even with old technology, they manage to fend off anyone that pisses them off... which is a lot of people. Probably the only race more xenophobic are the people from N'zoth.

because they were wary of the NR and were unsure how they would fair on the battlefield. Xenophobic? hell yes.

Its not like its a secret that Hapan Turbolaser technology is the worst in the universe. Plus, I said steal, not trade for it. If stolen, theres a good chance that it would work a lot better than given. at least, for a paranoid person, somehting stolen is less likely to be tampered with.

What's new? So there's a Republic fleet at their doorstep. The hapans would be ready anyways, and probably enjoy fighting the NR, especially if they had any time to retrofit any of the warships to be even stronger.... Not a suprizing gamble on their part, though it could be considered unlikely.

yet again true enough. the Republic would probably try and avoid trouble with the Hapans since they have to worry about the empire still.
