Wait...huh. Kenth sighed. He had been waiting for the past many hours, and in the end all he got was more waiting. He decided that it was not worth it to say anything against it however, as he kept failing on making his brain to concentrate on the important matter. If waiting was what Herei, the brilliant advisor suggested, then waiting it is.

"I suppose it's not worth it to get others to find the missing three...we might end up loose more people." Kenth murmured. Then a pause.

"What do you suppose their state of being is right now?"

Dante wasn't looking at Kenth anymore, or even at the area surrounding them.

This forest...it was supposed to be like being home. But it wasn't. It was wet...and hot...and covered with danger. Iliodean had never been that. Iliodean had been a haven...a warm, dry, safe haven. And he had left to come here and help this group of people.

His eyes cut back up to Greg for a moment, then looked away again. The man did not want to talk to him. Clearly not.

With a sigh he stood and made his way over to Herei's side. "Waiting for them might be the best thing to do. If we spread out and look, we might never find them; they'll be moving, as well as us, and we might miss each other."

Herei opened his mouth to reply, but stopped as Dante approached, saying what he had intended with simple clarity. The man nodded once to Dante, adding, "I believe that the boys are on the move. The forest isn't big enough that they can't make it out soon, maybe by nightfall; by then, they will likely try to find us at our predetermined meeting spot." He paused, smile still intact as he neglected an answer about the woman; truth be told, he didn't know her. He had garnered her to be impatient and to the point, but her reason for getting lost - or disappearing - was still in question.

The man rolled back on his heels, turning his eyes over his shoulder towards the forest. "I don't think we'll lose more people," he adressed Kenth's first statement quietly, "if we do try a rescue. I'm more concerned about losing hope, and losing sight of the reason we're here. For now, we have to trust in the abilities of these intelligent young boys and give them the time they need."

Kenth grumbled and sat up, one hand on his face as if he was having a headache.

"Trust the students...it'd have been so much better if they weren't here in the first place. This is adult's business, and it should have nothing to do with them."

Turely, Kenth wondered if he'd be better off without anyone here. Perhaps then he'd be less dependent on others and...able to concentrate more. "And what kind of hope are you harboring there, advisor? We haven't seen a single native since we got here. They could be surrounding us now, but we'd never know."

Herei turned his smile back onto Kenth. "Oh come now doctor. Surely you don't see the rest of the students moping in their beds and refusing to do something." The expression on his face did nothing to soften his words; he had been trying to be kind before, but if Kenth was going to start his self-righteous tirade again, they were going to have problems.

"My hope is that the answer to this crisis isn't in a confrontation with the natives, but perhaps in that forest," he replied briskly, pushing on his legs to stand. The knowledge he had of the Goddess Luna...it wasn't time to share, yet. "I can see what it did to you. I can only imagine what it did to those boys. Hope is all we have out here when everything else has abandoned us." Of course, the Advisor included their fearless leader in that statement. Sometimes it was better to bark first, rather than bite at nothing.

"The hell I'd care about what they do, they give me enough troubles already." Kenth shook his head and rubbed on his temples, annoyed at Herei's teases.

"If something dangerous lies in the forest, shouldn't you be worried that the students and...Alex are in danger?"

Herei shook his head to himself, his smile a little off, perhaps a little sad. And this man dared to call himself a doctor? Such positions were meant to care and help for other people, not give them up for lost and hopeless. He'd have to speak with the Headmaster about this. "That was supposed to be your job, doctor, but you don't seem terribly concerned about anything other than yourself. I have faith and confidence in my decisions, and in those boys. Professor Araquenosse and I will decide the next steps to take, since we cannot depend on you or your expertise at this time."

With a polite nod, Herei turned and started to walk back towards his little part of the camp site, deeply disappointed. The doctor was as grumpy as a bear and uncertain as a child; he could not lead them. He wanted to protect but he didn't care about who was in his protection...he wanted to lead but he was so lost himself. Herei could not allow the rest of the group to befall tragedy because Kenth was too stubborn to open his heart and mind.

Grey eyes had settled in watching the others. He didn't think he'd ever have a chance to see something peaceful like this in a place like this. It...it seemed odd. Out of place. He had categorized this area as chaotic. But...it was not so.

He looked down at the figure in his arms, petting the male's head a bit a slight smile on his face. His attention was caught as he spied the small group of adults. His expression became serious, his focus honing in on their conversation. He could not hear all of it, but what he did hear at first annoyed him...then scared him.

Kenth...was no longer reliable? That...That couldn't be true! Leave this all in their hands? They...they had no experience! What...His gaze shifted back and forth between the two figures. Kenth.......He idolized this man. Despite his quirks but...the elder wasn't allowed to break down on him like this! He was depending on him.

But who was he to talk? He looked away sadly. This...he didn't want to believe this. The man...wasn't to blame. He knew Alex. Her going off was her fault. But those other two boys...yes. Kenth was still responsible for those two. And they were gone. Weiyuan prayed that at the very least Alex was with those two. She was strong and she knew the land. If they weren't able to protect themselves he knew she could.

His mind had to process this fact over and over and over again. If...if they could not turn to Kenth. Would they turn to him? If they did, he have to take the chance! He had to rid himself of those old chains. This was no longer about the disease, it wasn't about Jonas, it wasn't about his father. His father had nothing with this event at all. This was Wei's. He nodded to himself, this was a promise on his ancestors.

“Lina.” Irame said, tapping the other woman on the shoulder as she went to leave. “Umm.. I just think that you might want to know that… well if you don’t want people to know about your…. ‘sickness’ then you probably don’t want to mention morning sickness.” She said quietly. “And if you want something I could try a healing spell.”

Greg was still upset as he came over to Kenth and Dante, passing Herei on the way, but the real burst of anger that he had had earlier was gone. The emotions that were normally there when he though about his brother, mainly guilt, was still there, and he felt that he had to at least try to make him feel a little better.

“I think that Alex can take care of her self.” He said, looking sideways at the ground. He was pretty sure that if he tried to look Kenth in the eyes he would get up and walk away. Or something like that. “And the students…” Truth be told Greg was worried and upset about those two more than Alex, who he really did think could take care of herself very well. “Well I’m sure that they’ll show up, and they’ll be okay. They should be okay for one night in the forest.” He near to babbled, as he had nothing else to say.

For the love of all that was good in this world, she hated this forest.

It closed behind her, it blocked the light, and devoured her energy. Alex felt as though she'd be walking down a relatively clear path, only to turn around and see no real way back. The boughs rarely let enough light filter through that she could tell the time, and she felt as though she were dragging herself. The last part was mostly due to a lack of sleep, and she knew she'd have to give in or risk passing out. While both options would render her unconscious, she'd rather control where and when she was vulnerable.

She knew she was around the temple; she could feel it's unholy and negative draw, whispering dark things into her mind and making her doubt herself every step of the way. It was a constant battle to remind herself that this place was naturally bad, that it had nothing to do with her, although it got harder as time passed on. The woman felt as though she were slipping into madness, and it was only then that she had some vague idea of what the natives must be suffering. Sometime in the middle of the night, she finally stumbled across the building, literally almost falling headlong onto it.

The sight of the thing was enough to jar her to her senses, practically leaping backwards. Alex didn't want to touch the damned thing, she didn't want to see it or even think about it, but she knew it would come back to her. She cursed in every language she knew (which was quite a few, really) as she rounded towards the front of the temple, feeling only a small source of relief that she could get her bearings since she knew where she was now. It was an unpleasant feeling, knowing she shouldn't be lost in her profession, and knowing it probably had very little to do with actually being lost and more to do with something entirely out of her control. She sighed quietly, looking up wearily to see where she could rest; there was a relatively normal looking tree, with something light-blue at the base--

The woman stopped breathing. It couldn't be! Her eyes became wide, her face drawn as she recognized that unique color. She moved quietly, suddenly very awake as she approached the bundle at the base of the tree. If that was what she thought, then--yes, a bolt of black next to the blue confirmed her fears. The air escaped her body noiselessly as she gazed with horror upon the figures of Ka'hmesh and Farlest. Alex kneeled, licking her finger and putting it under their noses; they were breathing, thank goodness! She checked them over as best as she could without touching them or making noise. To her utter surprise and relief, the boys seemed to be healthy and well, except for some strange bandaging on Ka'hmesh's hand which she'd check on later.

They were sleeping. If they were half as persistant as she was, then they hadn't slept before now, and the woman knew the virtue of sleep; it was weighing on her, and she had to give in. She wasn't about to wake them now. Alex carefully placed her rucksack on the ground, lowering herself slowly with a grimance. Between the running, walking and general anxiety, her body was stiff and protesting the sudden bending. She finally put herself in a laying position in front of the boys, her head resting upon the rucksack, one hand curled against one of the many pockets of her cargo pants reflexively. Her murky green gaze was fixated on them as slumber finally starting to pull her down, their peaceful expressions the last thing she saw before she gave in to her exhaustion.

Not too long after Alex found the two of them, Ka stirred slightly and raised a hand, still asleep ... probably to wipe sweat off his face or something of the like. Problem being that, without realizing it, it was the hand attatched to that sprained wrist.

Which woke him up fast as soon as that wrist bent. He yelped in pain, then clenched his jaw shut, eyes squeezed closed as he very slowly lowered the hand again, trying to shove the pain away. And as such ... he didn't even notice that they had a visitor ...

Farlest's eyes immediately popped upon upon hearing Ka's cry, gaze going to his friend in a panic, afraid that something had happened to him. "Ka!" Turning eyes to him...he sighed in relief as he noticed that the other was all right. "Did you hurt your..."

He trailed off as emerald orbs grew wide as saucers. "ALEX!?!" She was RIGHT THERE and lying on the ground in front of them as though she'd just dropped out of nowhere! How the hell had she managed to find them? Much less approach them so very quietly.

Farlest immediately felt sheepish and turned beet red. "Ah...uhm...how the hell did she get here?" of course that was a silly question, must have been that dumb creepy temple in all of its evil brilliance.

Yes. He'd decided it was evil by now, anything that drew the unwilling inexorably towards it had to be malevolent.

Good golly things were happening entirely too fast for the slender male to take in all at once, so he stared goggle-eyed at the woman for a good while, torn between hugging Ka and tackling her in happiness that their quest had finally had positive results.

Er...well maybe they should figure out if she was all right first.

Alex had jerked awake at the cry, although her body felt paralyzed. Her large eyes shifted up to Ka'hmesh, her foggy mind quickly putting together his look of pain and slow movements from his suddenly jarred hand. She unconsciously released the knife in her pocket, exhaling quietly. The woman quickly ran a check over her body; she couldn't have been sleeping more than thirty minutes. It would suffice.

She pulled herself into a sitting position as Farlest called her name, turning a half-smile onto him. "Actually, I was wondering the same thing about you two. I know why I'm here - care to explain your presence?" The woman slowly moved onto her knees, now grinning at the two. Part of her was so very happy to see them, and to see them well; the other half was wondering if they'd come alone, or if Kenth and Audun were in the vicinity.

"Have you boys eaten? I have some jerky and a few extra canteens if you're thirsty. You, however--" she cast a glance at Ka'hmesh as she started to dig through her rucksack, "--are going to drink some tea. If I can find where I...ah, there it is." She withdrew a canteen and some strange type of thin wooden container, placing them by her legs before resting her hands on her knees. Alex grinned widely at the two, feeling heartened by the sight of them, "I hate to say it, what with being in the middle of a forest and that hellish building back there, but I am really glad to see you two."

Ka jumped when Far rather suddenly yelled Alex's name, eyes flying open. And only then did he see the woman, his own eyes going a bit wide. How had she gotten here?!

His gaze flicked to Far then and back to Alex, just as she started talking.

"Ah ..." Ka started, glanced at Far again, then back. "We were trying to find you ..." Although technically that had been Farlest and Ka was just sort of ... along for the ride. But Alex didn't really need to know that.

At the mention of food, Ka blinked and found that, yes, he was rather hungry. In all the confusion and the running and the fear and pain ... well. Let's just say that eating regularly hadn't been on the top of their mental lists. He blinked slightly then. "Tea..?"
