"Two laps... seems easy and harmless enough... fine."
Batsu undid his hairband that held his long, silver hair in place then went back and reapplied the band on his hair even tighter to secure his locks. After he did so, Batsu broke out in a jog and followed in behind Shinzu. Dexterity was his thing so it was just a matter of time before he went full throttle.

Shinzu noticed Batsu was soon behind him, no real surprise there, the Medic-Nin focused on such things. Shinzu grinned though, he'd have the advantage when they got to the endurance portion of things, not to mention the strength areas. With that in mind he kept up his jog, only looking back occasionally to make sure Batsu was still behind him. As they ran the city grew denser and denser around them, until both sides of the street became apartments, and the Mizukage's Office loomed in the distance.

Gennosuke watched as Shinzu and Batsu ran past him. He hadn't seen either in a while, his fault, but he supposed they were training. He sighed knowing that if he wanted to hang out he would have to do the same. Of course that would require him to catch up to them first. He pondered on it only getting left behind a little more. He was sure if he called to them they'd stop and wait or he could be lazy and cut through the village versus going around it. He shrugged as he turned around and headed for the cut off.

Batsu kept up his pace and looked towards Shinzu, noticing that his friend kept looking back at him. Apparently, he was trying to keep tabs to make sure he was behind. Which was fine... Batsu was confidant in his skills anyways and knew that he'd eventually catch up. So Batsu shrugged it off, only to trip himself up by accident. The boy eventually recovered but after doing so he noticed that Shinzu was further ahead. Batsu could do nothing but growl and pick up the pace a little. There was no way he was going to lose to Shinzu.

Shinzu managed to look back just in time to see Batsu trip up, even a master of movement could mess up some times! Shinzu meanwhile was doing just fine, keeping an even pace in his run, especially since he had pulled ahead, and hadn't really had to push himself yet. For now though he kept his eyes ahead of him, as he neared the Mizukage's office, trying to avoid any of the people that where in front of him, and having a relatively easy job of doing so.

Batsu had had enough of this. He was losing and he HATED to lose. So it was time to get rough. Batsu reached in his bag and pulled out a senbon... the very weapon that Shinzu considered to be weak. He took the weapon in between his thumb and his finger and got ready to throw. But out of courtesy, Batsu yelled out to his friend. "Hey Shinzu... CATCH!" Batsu then took aim and fired his senbon straight towards Shinzu's ankle. Doing so would be sure to trip him up... if not by contact then at least by loss of focus. Yeah, it was a little underhanded. However, Shinzu didn't set any rules to say that we couldn't try to trip each other up.

All's fair in the ninja world, right?

Shinzu turned a looked just in time to watch Batsu's senbon hit him, and cause him to trip onto the gravel and dirt of the street. Pushing himself up he spat dirt and small rocks onto the ground. "Oh, you want to play that way, huh?" Shinzu said as Batsu caught up with him, and he got onto his feet. "We'll play that way then!" He said, as he scoped out the area in front of him.

Batsu knew his teammate all to well. Thus, he knew he had to think of something before he got to close to Shinzu and end up taking a hit that could possibly take him out the match, which was a fate worse than losing in his mind. So Batsu went one step ahead of Shinzu in order to prevent anything from happening. As Batsu got clooser and closer to his friend, he formed a couple of handseals and seemingly disappeared from the area.
Batsu then reappearedd onto the fray, but instead of being behind Shinzu, Batsu took the lead and didn't even bother to look back.

Batsu was now in the lead and was a safe distance away from Shinzu's reach. However, he was not to let his guard down... not with the other male's shuriken and kunai on hand. With that in mind, Batsu went one step further. Batsu made a couple more handsigns and yelled out loud enough for his rival to hear. "BUNSHIN NO JUTSU!!" After his shout, Batsu jumped in the air mid-run and while he was in the air, nine identical clones showed up and landed on the ground the same time he did. With himself and nine clones now running together, Batsu felt a little more at ease.

A high-speed movement technique. It is described as 'appearing with the wind and disappearing like the wind.' Using chakra to activate the body, the user is able to move from one point to another with extreme speeds. This super-fast movement is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. To a normal person, it would seem as if the user has teleported.

Stage II: Chakra Control DC 20 Now practice fielding your chakra towards your leg muscles to enhance their power. If done right, you should move at an accelerated pace with minimal side effects.
Special: When rolling initiation checks or racing, or anything that involves speed, add chk mod to the dice roll. Does not nullify Stealth checks.

Shinzu watched as Batsu all but flew past him, the cheat. Shinzu clentched his teeth together, and gained some ground on Batsu, well succeeding in not falling back any further at least. He didn't even seem to notice as he passed by the Mizukage's off, barely even noticing that they drew near to the Fubuki Compound. "Be careful Batsu!" He yelled into the crowd of Batsu Clones, unable to determine which was his actual friend. "That's the Fubuki Compound up there, get too close and you'll be frozen to ice, or so they say!"

Batsu had never heard of such a thing, but he damn sure didn't want to turn into a block of ice. With that said, Batsu and his clones stopped right before he made it to the compound. The boy stayed silent lest he gave up his position amongst the clones. Eventually him and his crew resumed moving but at a walk as opposed to the running he was doing before. Hopefully this wasn't a trick, otherwise he was sure to make Shinzu pay... dearly.

Shinzu ran on past his friend, a large grin across his face. "Oh, sorry, I forgot, that's what happens to intruders within their walls! Silly me!" Shinzu said as he passed Batsu to take the lead once again. They'd covered half of the village by now, starting on the return journey of their first lap. Since they weren't quite done yet, Shinzu didn't resort to pulling too far ahead, or otherwise doing something to trip Batsu up. No, there was still one more lap left, and even more training after that.

"DAMN IT SHINZU!" Batsu grunted after being tricked by Shinzu. He immediately went back to running along with his clones. The medic then reached in his bag and pulled out another senbon from his arsenal. He immediately tossed it towards Shinzu's opposite ankle and went back to running normally. He made it up in his mind that from now on he was going to attack Shinzu every time he was behind. If the other wanted to win badly then he was going to have to put in a lot of work.

Shinzu let out a low groan as he felt another senbon pinch into his other ankle, but he was able to push the pain aside, and pressed onward. Leaving the Fubuki Compound behind them they began to press through the various street markets on the eastern side of the village. Here things got a little more difficult for Shinzu, as he had to weave through the people and carts that populated the street. "Sorry, excuse me!" He yelled with a wide smile as he ran through the crowd, feeling like a fresh faced academy student again.

His attack failed and he could do nothing but watch as Shinzu increased his lead. This left Batsu upset and he was looking around for something to do. But there's wasn't much else he could do. Batsu was further behind than what he wanted to be and, needless to say, he was upset about it. The boy knew that he had to continue his attacks to slow Shinzu down unless he was to lose. The boy reached in his bag and pulled out a senbon and aimed for Shinzu's thigh as he throw as hard as he could. But that wasn't enough. The boy had to up his speed in order for him to catch up to Shinzu. ... and he did just that.

Batsu picked up the pace and sped past the Fubuki compound... the same compound that Shinzu used to confuse him. Damn that Shinzu... but in all actuality, it was his fault for falling for it. Oh well, at least Batsu wasn't too far back at this point. Nevertheless, Batsu were still giving chase to Shinzu and shortly after he ran through the crowd, Batsu followed suit and narrowed the gap while in the midst of the crowd. But being as Batsu had better reflexes than Shinzu, he was able to move through the crowd of people at a much faster rate than the other. So what once seemed like a big lead for Shinzu was cut down to where he was mere steps ahead of Shinzu. Good, because he didn't want to get that far back anymore. He didn't want to lose and damn sure wasn't trying to owe Shinzu a lunch. He wasn't rich, ya know?
