Daemon sometime fell silent from a lack of things to be able to talk about. It seemed like time was passing slowly even though he didn't realy have a sense of time.
Has it stopped snowing?

Yes, finally, Serenity nodded inwardly. Although I almost fear to see how deep it's going to be when we get out of here. It's nearly impossible to dig out the door any more, if it kept snowing we were going to have to move.

Hopefully no one will sink into the snow.
Daemon commented.
Granted from the sounds of it with this much snow the lowest layer must be ice by now.

Gion stirred, then blinked sleepily and sat up. He looked around at the snow cave, then at the doorway. It's dark, he thought. What time is it?
He looked around and spotted the giant moor cat that was his mother, and smiled.

Serenity reverted to her own shape and smiled back. "Good morning," she offered warmly. "Sleep well?"
She would have mentioned something to Daemon but she wasn't touching him anymore - he was still on Gion's back.

No clue.
Daemon replied to Gion.
Though I hope you slept well.

It feels like the best sleep I've had in a long time, Gion answered Daemon, at the same time nodding to his mother and smiling. He wrapped his cloak around his shoulders, though he wasn't really cold any more, and started looking through his bag for something to eat.

Serenity smiled awkwardly as she watched Gion eat. She didn't know what to say to him ... after all it was difficult to ask him questions that he would be able to answer. Perhaps later Daemon might be able to help them communicate - or who knew? Maybe she would learn sign language eventually.
She sighed and leaned against the wall tiredly. It had been a long night ... and sleepless for her. Perhaps she would get some rest today as they traveled.

That's good, you really were out like light.
Well that and Daemon knew that Serenity had been very worried about that.

Well I feel a lot better than I did, Gion grinned inwardly, digging into his food eagerly. He was really hungry, far hungrier than he had realized. But then that makes sense, right? Since I had to stay awake so much, keeping watch, keeping holes open ... did Mother sleep at all?

Err... no.. actually she didn't.
At least not in the sense she slept well and they talked for most of the night.

Gion considered that for a moment. It wasn't fair for him to sleep and her not to ... Can you ask her for me when she's going to get her rest? he asked Daemon concernedly, unsheathing the sword and holding the hilt out to Serenity.

Serenity put one hand on the hilt of the sword but made no move to remove it from Gion's grip - since of course she knew he could only relay messages as long as he continued to have contact with the sword.
Yes? she asked Daemon softly, knowing that he had a message for her. Why else would Gion have offered her the sword, especially looking at her with that look on his face?
