Oh, wait.. she was running towards him as well.

"Damn you!"

With her teeth bared and her blade trailing behind her as well, she came charging toward Ruuvan at the same time, making four feet something like one foot quite quickly. Her strength was failing her- such a stream of her techniques had pushed her body to its limit. And yet she continued moving... she would keep fighting until there was nothing left in her.

As soon as she was within striking distance, she swung her blade with all the force she had left within her, passing to Ruuvan's right side as she did so. She wouldn't give up yet! She still had this last move... this one final blow. Just as long as she could still fight...

Halycanos turned his eye some, looking at Brass for a moment. He wasn't really sure if he wanted to dispence his name, but then it dawned on him that he WAS in Heaven or Hell. Most people know his name. "Um. Halycanos Durai.. I don't guess you've been near a T.V. recently?"

((Damb, this will take a while))

There was no time to think, Kurobatchi quickly jumped into the left wall, and kicked down on it as hard as he could, which made it slowly tilt over, then he backflipped over to the right wall and did the same thing. As the right wall fell it ran slid right into the left wall, and both walls were now supporting each others weight. But as the slide into each other the left wall hit a stone pillar and it broke into many pieces that started falling onto the floor bellow.

Kurobatchi gasped he knew if enough of the pieces of the pillar fell onto one of the walls, it would collapse and bring the other down with it, so he quickly ran out of the 2nd room and into the extremly small first room. Now he didn't have enough energy to leave quiet yet, but if it collapsed him like the rest of the rooms, he wouldn't die as the extremly small room was only big enough for 9 people, and thats if your not taking in needs for personal space, so there wouldn't be enough to debre to kill, though he might get majorly injured.

Now even though Kurobatchi knew he could probably survive, the collapse of the first room, he didn't let his guard down, for he didn't want to die. Now it was not because he wanted to live, rather it was because he didn't think he deserved to end his life, as the pain he had caused to people through out his life, caused pain to him once he realized what he did. The pain was so bad that, he started viewing his life as punishment for his actions, for in death his pain would end.

((Is that good enough?))

Well, he didn't see this move coming, no sir. Ruuvan was completely unprepared for this flanking strike, even if she was running towards him from the outset, he couldn't see what she was doing until it was too late.

So, as she quickly moved to his right and slashed out towards him, Ruuvan could do nothing but put more power into his run in an attempt to clear her striking area, but he was unable to do so quickly enough. The Flameberge swung around and cut deep into his right side, ripping through the Kevlar of his body armour and stopping as it hit one of the plates. Despite the agonising pain and feeling of blood leaving his system, Ruu continued past until they were ten foot apart again, collapsing to his knees and breathing heavily. He scooted around on the floor, looking down as his own blood trickled onto the floor, until he was looking towards Claire. He wouldn't do anything for now, only drop his left sword and move his hand up to his chest, still breathing heavily and staring his foe down. I would appear as if that move had finished him off, but looks could be deceiving in these situations.

However, he didn't have to move.

Claire was spent.

A few feet later, after she stood there for a while in her finished pose, her body trembled slightly as the adrenaline wore off. She collapsed to the ground, her energy gone from using so much of her flame. The Rune Stone was only a focus for energy- it did not give one more power in exchange, only heat and flame and the manipulation of such things.

"Haah... haaah... I... I won't accept this... I can't... I won't be trapped again..."

She stood up again, planting her blade into the ground before doing so. Her vision slowly cleared, though her anger was still evident. But as she turned around, she looked qutie puzzled when she saw the gash in Ruuvan's side.

"W... what? Ruuvan!? What happened?"

She tried to lift her blade from the ground in order to help him, but stumbled when she did so, falling to the ground again. Her head spun with the memories... but now without the anger or rage, she saw them clearly, as if looking at them from outside.

"No... I did it again, didn't I?"

It looked like Ruuvan wouldn't need to implement his little trick, what with her not attacking and falling nearly unconscious and all, but there was still a large wound on his side that needed to be dealt with. So, calling upon his white magic once again, Ruuvan placed his right over the wound and closed his eyes. A bright white light radiated around his hand, pulsing wildly before fading as the magic left his system. He brought the bloodied hand up to his face and smiled slightly, wiping it on his trousers to get it cleaned up. It still looked like he was hurt though; a large gash in his Kevlar with blood soaking the fibres around it, but his skin was now cleared and he was back in the game. Needless to say healing such a wound, what with his magic having been used mainly for attack through his life, it took more than an attack spell would, thus leaving him a little drained.

"Again? You mean you've done this before?" Ruuvan shook his head slightly, pulling himself onto his feet and sheathing the swords as he walked towards her, "But yes, you did revert to your past, but don't worry about it. I trust you know that I have to take this stone now and a little part of you with it, right?" With her past memories returning and her true form known, she must've remembered what she was meant to do, but Ruuvan was left wondering: What would happen to her? Would she simply disappear like the first one, or would it only be the Valkyre who was taken leaving Claire to live her mortal life? He had no idea.

Ruuvan
"Again? You mean you've done this before?"

Claire nodded, her hand over her face as she recalled the memory of her being sealed away. "Yeah, I've done it before. I remember the fights I used to take place in... or rather, small parts of them. When I would start fighting, I'd go into a sort of rage. I'm sure you just saw it- my mind sort of leaves my body for a while and there's nothing but red everywhere, just fire and dark figures. They all just become targets because I couldn't separate friend from foe.

Eventually, it became so bad and I was so well-known for it that I was sent into battles by myself, seeing as I could clear out areas quickly."

She sounded disgusted with herself in this regard.

"But then, I attacked my own siblings... I can't remember what happened or why, but I just started going crazy on my own kin for some reason. Anger was probably the reason, I suppose- I can't exactly remember what I got so angry for, though."

She shook her head as Ruuvan mentioned the ruby.

"Yeah, I remember that too. And you beat me handily- you were probably waiting until I was nice and tired out, huh? A good plan for someone out of control like me... they were right to seal my memories away until I could control my emotions.

You have the right to take it from this place."

She smiled up at him, sighing to herself.

"When you meet the others... tell them I'm sorry, won't you? I'm sure you'll be running into them soon."

With a flash of fire, she vanished... and the sword dissapated in the same manner. The only thing left was the Rune Stone, now pulsing and glowing with a red light.

Success!

Nice work. Eight to go!
PostPosted: Fri Feb 24, 2006 2:25 am

It was all over now, the pulsing Ruby lying on the floor was an indication of that fact. With a heavy sigh, probably due to the exhaustion that overcame him whilst letting Claire mercilessly beat down on him, but he was still strong enough to pick the object up and looked into its centre, once again admiring the beauty of the soulstone; different hues of red and orange swirling around inside it, but that was all it was to him - colour. Ruuvan knew there was the soul of a Valkyre in there, even though he couldn't see past the mortal vision, but he had earned the respect of this one. Two down, eight to go, but first back to Durem.

So, with a deep breath taken, Ruuvan started towards the door the group had came in, picking up the sleeping D as he went. At the foot of the steps, he took one last look into the stone in a hope Claire would take him outside as the other did, but he was sure she'd catch on and do it as he started up those stairs.

Hmm? Why are you walking like that? I'm not all that tired, you know... lemme help you out of here.

And with a flash of fire, quite harmless, he was back outside again, in front of the H2.

Nice ride, by the way. Tell your boss that he certainly has some nice things to roll in. If we had met in another life, I'm sure we'd have had some real fun together, even with me going all berserk and stuff. See you again...

"Wait....Halycanos!? I've heard about you before. Interesting stuff too." Brass replied back with a slight look of shock across his face as he studied the man's face alittle more. Yep, it sure was Halycanos. He had heard about him on TV quite a few times, but it had been mostly fleeting glances which explained why Brass didn't recongize his face. He had heard about Halycanos' actions in the stadium.

HonoRaven

Ug... a migraine in the making? sweatdrop *hono rubbed her eyes, hanging her shades from the collar of her shirt as she attempted to rub the spots from her sight with the heels of her hands*

I get the feeling that we should have found a different way to find your brother Vahn... because as is I get the "mice in a maze" feeling about all this... stare
Then again I still don't have any better ideas so I am not one to really talk sweatdrop *she sighed to herself, brushed her bangs out of her face and put her shades back on... just incase Tellus decided to try and blind them again...* xp

"Wha-" Sunstrike blinked as the whole hallway lit up, hand still on the doorknob. His heart had stopped beating when he saw what had been about to attack their leader in this.

It still hadn't slowed down, even when Tellus acted rationally to the situation and through Hono's complaints.

"Vahn..." He moved forward, then stopped, unsure of how to react, paranoia making the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.

Halycanos nodded some. He couldn't help but let it swell his head some. But then he also couldn't help but pray this guy didn't rub in that loss to Ble-ar-guh. He was still taking it badly that he lost to some flame clothes ranking loser like Sieg. He had every intention to eventually find and kill that cocksucker. He'd just need to find the stupid b***h. But enough about that. "Yeah... That's me. I was tough guy for Team White Wolf this year... Next winter we're going back too. We're gonna cream everyone. Right up to Ryugin and Glacier. Hell, if they're smart, they'll back another team for a finder's fee or something like that. I just regret not having won... I was gonna open a gambling ring for these occasions and such.

The shadows were truly nothing short of a cloak, and Tellus did that much; in the vein that she simply forced the cloaks off.

All 140 pounds of the beast now flung itself into Vahn's back, sending him sprawling along the ground; it's eyes blinded by the flash.

Several chortles filled the hall as similar creatures began unlatching from the ceiling and walls; apparently part of the architecture itself.

They stood at about 6 feet, when they weren't hunched over or scaling along the sides.

"s**t---!"

The pain of being jostle was momentary, even as Vahn brought his left forarm up, just in time to ward off the gnashing teeth of another creature.

In such a narrow and winding hallway, the group found themselves once more surrounded.

'Tellus' looked from side to side, a small frown of annoyance marring the serenity of her face but nothing more. She would simply wait to be attacked, her maki at her side.

....

Yes, she was attacked.

Along with everyone else. This wasn't a Vahn-buffet line.
