Maternal Instinct - Places Pokemon in "Afraid" status, making them incapable of attacking.
"I hate to seem cynical about some totally random occurrence, but I did have an encounter with some lazy sloth at one point. Or rather, I thought I did, and I think his mannerisms rubbed off on me. I always seem to be spacing out at the most critical of times anymore." Kaya admitted with a long sigh.
Noticing the ship begin to move, he walked to a bench and took a seat, hoping Brayden would sit near him. "I think the more distance we put between ourselves and these weapons, the better off we are in the long run. The legend might say we need them to finish this...whatever's going on, but I don't think that means we should be using them too much." he added, hoping to not dissuade his friends from being there for him.
In the long run, he knew they would always be there, and he for them, but the feeling of unease was growing stronger the closer they got to the island he called home.

Brayden indeed took up a seat next to Kaya, watching the water for a moment as the boat pushed off from the docks and started off. He sensed the growing uneasiness in Kaya, but was unsure of its source.
"I agree in regards to the weapons," he spoke up, "Although hopefully there won't be anything we need to face with them until Julian hooks back up with us," but it'd be hard to do, he realized, if legend indeed spoke of the weapons appearing when needed. Fate was a terror of a thing to defy sometimes. But all the same...
"I'd like to see how far I can go on my own wings, ya know?" he spoke up quietly.
Even if it meant crashing.
Brayden settled back into his seat, offering Kaya his hand in a "You know I'll be here, right?" kind of gesture. He just hoped he was eloquent in hand-speak.

Julian had been standing there in the snow, staring out into space for an eternity. He had zoned out and didn't know why, but he was freezing. The young man walked to the docks and found shelter in the boat house there. Once he was able to feel his fingers again Julian pulled out his pokegear and began sending a message to Chloe.

Julian's Pokegear would beep back soon enough with a response message from Chloe.
Hey! Glad you're back. No problem about the leave of absence. We were kinda worried about you. But don't worry about it. Things worked out well at Kaya's home, although things started out a bit rocky. We had quite the scare when Kaya was arrested. There was this jerk of a councilman who had it out for Kaya. He even ended up killing him! But Nona was able to get him back using her ghost ring. We're so glad for that, especially Brayden. Speaking of which, the two are finally getting married! That's where we're at right now, in the temple on the island. If you want to join up with us again, I'm sure we'll all be glad to have you with us again. I'm not sure what we're planning on doing after this, but I was kinda thinking about returning to Johto.

Julian pulled out his pokegear as it beeped, and looked at the message. He literally jumped out of his seat with excitement once he read it. "Oh my god, I'm missing the wedding!" He yelled aloud before running out of the small little boathouse, dragging the ferry man along with him. Within the next few seconds he was on the ferry, changing into the best clothes he had, and was heading full speed for the island.

Aella landed eventually, skipping across the top of the snow. She proved to be quite skilled at walking across the top of the snow, even with Brayden aboard. He supposed it was due to her wide-toed gait that made her an expert at running. Whatever the case may be, Brayden came to a stop, climbing off Aella, and looking around Snowpoint. He didn't have the skill that she did in walking across the snow banks, so at first, he found himself knee deep in white fluff. But after a brief struggle, he made it to the plowed center streets that made walking much easier for humans.
Aella fluffed up, using her feathers as warmth, looking very much like a fluffy pom pom. But it was an effective maneuver. Despite being from warmer climates, Aella had little trouble in the snows of Snowpoint.
So Brayden waited for Kaya, as Aella conversed between her heads. She was excited about seeing the new town, so thankfully the near-constant bickering hadn't started up just yet.

Trojana landed in the snowbound land of the illustrious Snowpoint city after a good long flight. It felt good to stretch her wings and really fly for a while. It felt like it had been months since the last time she had gotten good exercise like this.
It took a bit of effort to get her calmed down, but eventually Kaya had managed the task and his aerial mount had focussed on getting him to his destination before she went off on her own. Once the were on the ground, Kaya petted her head in thanks. "I guess you want to fly some more, so go on. Just don't go too far away so you can keep up when we leave on the ship, ok." he told the bird. She nodded and took to the air once more.
Kaya had little trouble tracking Brayden down, as the man was a black speck on a white landscape. He stood out as much as a fly in the Meowth's milk bowl. "Hey there, love! You going my way?" he asked coyly. He offered a mischievous smirk to his husband to show he was playing.

Brayden spotted Trojana after a bit of searching in the skies. The silver of her wings had been muted a bit by the snow clouds that seemed to lay constantly over the northern city. But the red in her wings made her easier to spot, so that was what Bray had first seen, descending from the cloudcover.
Bray rose from the bench, sending a bit of the snow that had gotten on his pants back to his seat as he brushed off. He still had the jacket from his last trip here, but for the time being, he was okay with the cold.
Aella was still fluffed up, and looked to Kaya when he approached. She recognized him at least, greeting him with a duo burble from both heads.
At Kaya's comment, Brayden smiled, pretending to ponder for a moment.
"I dunno. I was always warned to avoid beautiful hitchhikers. They're said to bring nothing but trouble and heartahe..." he jested, bringing his hands up as if to shield his heart in his chest.
"But I think I can make an exception. Just this once, though. I'd have a hard time saying no to such a pretty face. Me and Aella here could use some company-" Brayden couldn't keep up the act much longer than that, as he broke out into a fit of laughter, shaking his head.
"I never really was that good at drama class," he admitted with a chuckle, offering Kaya an arm.
"Shall we? The docks were to the south of town if I remember right?" he asked. Aella chirped, not really lending anything to the conversation, so she darted off to see how she fared running in the snow. As when landing, she somehow managed to keep above the snowbanks, long legs perching atop the compacted snow as she tested out a short dash away, then back to Brayden. Other than kicking up a light layer of fluffy flakes, there really was no difference to her from running on land and running on snow.
"Duo-do!" came the cheerful call from her twin heads, pecking playfully at Kaya.

Trojana had taken back to the air, soaring over the snowbound city with interest. There was something almost mystical about the place.
Kaya offered a friendly wave of greeting to Aella, deciding they really weren't such a bad Pokemon once you got past their arguing pointlessly.{{Yes, I refer to Pokemon with multiple heads as 'them'}}
"Oh but us beautiful hitchikers always have a way to make those who come to our aid feel just so good about helping us." he replied playfully. Placing his hand over Bray's, he squeezed it gently. "And broken hearts can always be mended with a little sweet, unconditional love." he explained, as he leaned forward and gave the male a quick peck on the lips.
He giggled a bit with the younger when he broke out into a giggle fit. "I dunno. I found it to be quite an enthralling performance." he encouraged. "But just to be on the safe side, don't quit your day job, love." he joked as he took the offered arm and watched Aella run off to test her skills.
"Aah! Stop! Stop! That hurts!" the man squealed in laughter as the Doduo pecked him upon her return. He defended his face as he laughed and tried to duck out of range behind Brayden.

Kaya's comments easily caused a warm smiled to appear on Brayden's face.
"True, I have to admit, just being around you is enough to make me feel good," he murmured. As cheesy as it sounded, it was true for the water trainer. Being with Kaya was good for him.
Brayden laughed, "I won't take up a career in performances, though. I think I'll stick to what I know a bit better. I enjoy being a trainer. For one, we get to see such beautiful places like this," he motioned to the snow-covered city.
"I enjoy seeing places that are so different."
Aella burbled, a laughing sort of sound, as Kaya sought refuge behind Brayden. Apparently her mischievous side was appeased, because the twin-headed bird headed back out along the snow.
"Coast is clear," Brayden announced to Kaya with a grin.
Aella didn't stray too far from Brayden, keeping within sight. But it was clear Aella was enjoying her exploration of the snowy city.
It was there she encountered a Meditite. The small fighting type had been sitting on a snow drift, deep in meditation. Aella's frolicking had apparently disturbed it, because it turned to attack the Doduo.
Aella easily dodged the oncoming strike, leaping up in a Fly, perching atop the Pokecenter as the Meditite failed to reach her with his attack. Laughing, Aella came diving back down a moment later, landing on top of the Meditite, pecking with her two heads. The Meditite collapsed, giving up on fighting the Doduo, not liking the idea of fighting two against one. So the Meditite retreated back somewhere where the noisy bird couldn't interrupt its training.
A slight squabble ensued between Aella's two heads, trying to decide what to do next. But the argument to return to Bray won out in the end, as the Doduo trotted back to her trainer.

"I feel the same about you." Kaya replied cheerfully.
"I think I like you more a trainer as well. You're so much more adventurous than those drama obsessed actors. They won't do anything unscripted." he laughed at Bray's comment. "Whereas, you enjoy the surprise."
When the bird had stopped her mischievous pecking and Bray had given him the 'all clear', the man stood before him again. "As do I, love. It's an amazing feeling, to see so much of the world. It still boggles the mind to realize just how much Trainers can do for free that other people have to pay for. It's really something, you know?"
As Aella hadn't gone far, neither had Trojana. The Skarmory opting to stay near her trainer for ease of return. She never knew when she'd be called upon and Kaya wasn't exactly easy to spot on the snowy landscape. A White coat with colden yellow sleeves and black accents still counts as white against the snow.

"The surprise is what makes it fun, most oftentimes," Bray commented, "Even a place like this. I had heard about Snowpoint, but it wasn't until I came for the first time that I realized how beautiful it is."
Brayden nodded in easy agreement to Kaya's comments about the perks of being a trainer, "I agree. Even when it comes to traveling, the Pokecenter is free for trainers to spend the night. Its definitely cheaper than taking an expensive vacation and staying at a hotel."
