Hikari's eyes danced slightly at the mention of sister. Would she really be able to pull of the girl being her sister? Would she really want people thinking that?

The aforementioned girl let out a happy squeal, which was again closed off by a hand over her mouth. "Shh now Miaka! Not so much noise babe."
She let out a soft sigh before moving over to Annie and offered the red robes with a smile. "T-thank y-you so much o-once again..." She whispered softly before moving to the seat that was offered to her.

"I-I guess it wouldnt hurt to g-go..." She spoke, her head hung down, though she already knew she was going.

The Fortune Teller
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Watching the man intently from beneath her hood, the Fortune Teller nodded to herself as he selected a card.

"So, the Fool. It seems rather appropriate for you, doesn't it? Please keep that Tarot Card with you from now on; it is very important that you have it for the Velvet Room, when they decide to contact you."

Rising from her chair, the Fortune Teller returned the deck of cards to an inner pocket of her robes.

"Thank you for your time. Expect to find the Velvet Room for the next few days. Your life is about to become something quite different from what it once was."

Bowing her head, she moved quickly past him, sweeping out of the door and into the city with haste.

Taking slightly aback by the old women's words Feyd merely stared as she left. She seemed so diffrent from the person who arrived on the theater's doorstep seeking shelter, in fact Feyd no longer believed that it was shelter she was after. And what did she mean by comparing him to this card? Was she implying he was a fool?

Mind spinning with unanswered questions Feyd sighed, there was no harm in giving it a try was there? Tucking the card beneath his vest Feyd headed out onto the streets, he had a lot to think about now.

Just as Elliot raised one arm threateningly in Adalei's defense, Eli's voice caught his attention. He glanced down at the face of the dog as Adalei raked her fingers through the creature's hair, attempting to show her companion that there was no trouble. However, she continued to sense the tension in his body.

"R...Really? Quite a friendly dog. You see, Elliot, he means no harm." Adalei said, attempting to soothe her friend. "Not so common these days. What do you call him?"

Eli was blushing as he forced a smile and nodded. Oddly friendly little mongrel. He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Should he make up a name? Well... no... let's be honest, here. "I guess... well he comes to Mutt," he said, settling on that explanation.

Mutt had been thoroughly enjoying Adalei's hand when he heard his name. As if on cue, he broke from his new-found friend and rushed to Eli's side. He circled Eli a couple times before settling on his haunches beside the human. He thrust his head into the youth's knee and wagged his tail a bit, shifting as if he were going to stand but decided sitting was more convenient at the moment.

Eli's blush continued burning as he obediently rested his hand on the dog's head.

Severin started at the word execution, his body tensing up awkwardly. His eyes flickered from Larry's face to the floor, and his lips pursed in thought before he spoke. "I heard nothing of an execution before this, were there papers given out?" he asked, his frown deepening as his thoughts continued.

Ankou ignored Miriam's gifts and instead busied himself with ripping the shoe to bits. He found seems and spots where the glue kept the soul to the rest of the leather, and went about destroying it.

Dr. Oddssen finally noticed and sighed, watching the hooded child play with the scraps of a shoe.
"Erm... th-that isn't yours to ruin.. son.." He stated, quietly and awkwardly, unsure of what to call the child that had just grown bored with the shoe and lay down to rest.

Larry hopped to his feet, reaching over Severin and reclaiming the damp piece of paper from his desk.

"Plenty. They're all over the street. Have a look. I guess you were a little preoccupied this morning." Larry laughed when he noticed Ankou's determined destruction of said shoe. "Curious little guy. Don't worry about it. I end up breaking half the stuff around here anyway. You should probably hold off on slingshot lessons."

Miriam stopped pile construction at Larry's tenative questioning, and began to quietly suck on her fingers instead. She only had four, in total, if you counted the thumb.

Dr. Severin fretfully plucked the paper from Larry's hands and read over it slowly and meticulously. His expressions was primarily unreadable, but his eyes echoed his dread of watching the execution. There was relief in them, because he still lived in a state of paranoia for his own life. He knew that as long as he kept up with Grondax's business, he was safe.

"Strange.. it doesn't mention the second fellow, just as you said. Most peculiar." The doctor said slowly, his mind half concentrating on what he said and half focussed on the paper.

Ankou idly opened his eyes to see what caused the end of the baa's. When he found out, he closed his eyes again with satisfaction that nothing was amiss. The detah babe soon contended himself with a nap.

Severin, however calculated, took a shorter time than Larry had. Although Larry read slowly for different reasons.

"Yes, really funny thing, that. Are you going? Actually, I've got to be off soon. That key business. You can tag along again, if you like. I've planned ahead this time! Just in case this fellow isn't feeling cooperative. You would think he would be. People are funny like that. But I feel it's best to be prepared! And hopefully this is the last stop; you and I can see the case finished through! There should be enough time to visit the key's owner. And the children's parents, of course, but they aren't half so interesting as the other. I was going to go to the execution afterwards. Maybe I could even find that chap's name. Not that I've been hired to, but he seems to have lost it, and I suppose it's the very least I can do for him."

"Mm." Miriam commented, fingers still in her mouth. She put her cheek to the floor carefully, mimicking Ankou.

"Well...you must be a man of good fortune. I mean, to be able to care for both yourself as well as an animal," Adalei said. Although she had descended into a state of remarkable destitution, she tried to be mindful of the manners her mother had emphasized so much during her childhood lessons.

Wrapping her fingers around Elliot's stiff hand, Adalei hoped that her touch would bring some comfort her companion.

"I-I guess it wouldnt hurt to g-go..." She spoke, her head hung down, though she already knew she was going.

Annie blinked and offered the babe a finger to examine - really, they were so nice before they began talking and ruining everything with stupid comments - and nodded. "I can understand you probably have other things to worry about. If you just want the news of what happens, you can ask me. I was planning on going. And since your sister..." Annie stopped again. Would Hikari freak out if she mentioned her younger sister? Would Annie get pummeled? Or, worse, would Hikari start to cry? Annie couldn't stand it when people cried. And if Hikari started crying, then surely Miaka would cry, as well.

Oh boy.

This thought brought another to Annie's mind, and she said, "Why wasn't this little bundle of coo with you yesterday? Do you have a nanny or someone to take care of her? And are these gold chains?" Annie eyed Hikari surreptisiously, looking for any signs that supposedly revealed a lie: a blink, a shift in position, or a sudden glance away.

Hikari went rigid for a moment before forcing herself to calm down. "Uh...Well...N-no. Imeanyes! Yes sh-she does have a n-nanny" She purposefully chose to ingore the questions about the gold braclets. Maybe Annie would forget she just brought them up?

"And Yami...shes getting better?" She willed herself to be strong. She wouldnt want Annie to think her weaker then she truly was.

Emi slowly opened her eyes and look at the ocean, she blinked for a moment and then remembered that she had left kensington and headed to the harbor to calm herself down. She also noticed that her shoes were wet..seeing that she was sitting on the edge of a dock. Sighing a little bit she continued to look out at the ocean.

Emi sighed once again as she started to reflect...it was the only thing she could do as she stared out at the sea...she wasn't sure why but, she just started to think about. It was odd as she though, she started to have these "issues" as she had dubbed them long time ago. It was only recently that these "issues" have been resufacing, it was what as she though...a year...maybe more since the last time something like that happened to her, when she didn't really feel like herself. Emi shook her head, she didn't even know if she is actually herself or anything....all she knew was that basically this "curse" or unfamiliar past that hides inside of her, she knew some of the memories were hers...but the other ones? The ones that she hid inside of her...she didn't know nor could explain at all-

Emi stopped thinking...too much of it was starting to get to her, standing up and taking her shoes off she started to walk around the harbor till she found a decent place to let her shoes dry and to sit and wait until they did.

The Fool...

Running his fingers about the edge of the card Feyd frowned. What did that woman mean, comparing him to such a card? And insult? A compliment? Neither? Feyd suddenly found himself wishing he knew more about Tarot cards.

The combination of thinking and walking, plus the fact that Feyd hadn't eaten at all that morning soon lead him to find himself outside a bakery. After only a moment of hesitation to check his purse the actor pushed open the door and stepped into the shop. He was surprised to see he wasn't the only costumer, spotting a girl and a pink haired child, giving them a faint nod in greeting he then turn to the baker with a charming smile.

"What do you make best here?"

Mutt began to gently chew on Eli's fingers. The human didn't seemed to mind him, so he assumed it was all right. Besides... he's so SALTY!

Eli had never considered himself well off, but now that he thought about it, he usually had a meal a day. "I suppose I am doing better than some and worse than others," he replyed, stammering a bit before he managed to collect his tongue. "The dog just follows me around..." Quite a bother, the worm. Eli was still blushing, and his eyes had diverted themselves to the ground. Dirt was so interesting, after all.

Yami seemed puzzled, for last thing she rememebered....she was blanking out on the ground as if unconcious.....but now...she seemed fine....recalling the event, she couldn't remember anything as to how she got back at the house, and where Hikari could have gone...

But one thing still was in her head: Her sister was out there...what in the world could possibly happen to her now? HER sister, out there in THAT world....Yami cursed for her foolishness...and kept up the pace.

Adalei stared at the man thoughtfully, considering his answer. Though the mongrel appeared friendly, she knew that animals had as much the capacity to switch personalities as humans. Perhaps he used his dog in acquiring food, like the way she used Elliot...

Looking away from her companion in guilt, Adalei tried smiling as she turned her attention back to Eli. "Beg your pardon, sir, I don't believe we caught your name? ...Ah, and...I do apologize. I suppose we should have introduced ourselves first." Bowing her head politely, she said in a formal tone, "My name is Adalei. Family name's been lost for years, but it doesn't matter so much these days. And my companion's name is Elliot."
