Thoughts: Having a nice morning Location: [Danger Room] With: Team Alpha :: Jedi Someone had decided to join him. Was that a good thing? He just had to certainly hope nobody else got the same idea and went underground to, so to say. Nobody on the opposing side, at least. He had heard the question before.
”If you have a plan, I’m down.” That was a good statement, one that Marcel had to ask himself mentally. ”Wait...what AM I going to do?”
He briefly turned to look back at August, Jedi on the field if he was correct. An interesting name, which was probably a play on his abilities. He could manipulate gravity right? That could come in handy with whatever it was Marcel was thinking. What was he thinking though, exactly? He could note that it was hotter down here than it was above ground. Well, not hot exactly, but just humid so much that sweat was beginning to form across his forehead. He looked around, the dim yellow lights spaced here and there which only shedded just enough light to see the path down ahead, but not further down. That was more than enough for him to think however, his brown eyes glancing upward to see the pipes. His hand reached out to touch one lightly, feeling the presence of heat flowing through it.
”So that’s why sewers are usually hot… He mused to himself aloud, turning back to look at August with a smile. ”I was actually going to suggest we move from behind enemy lines and attack from both sides. We still can, but maybe we can also obscure their vision. We’re gonna make a fog.”
He made it seem so straightforward given the obvious mirth to his voice. He had to even be sure it would work first and foremost given in most cases, the steam escaping from the sewers could usually only go so far. It was best that he got to the perceived center of this simulation though, making his move already with the water reservoir in the center. He raised a hand and the flow pulled with it, rising upwards to the walls. It was already humid, so he was going to increase that field of aspect. When it hit the pipe, a small amount of steam let up. In normal situations, they could die from that, but this was not normal. He had control over the particles in the steam so that they would be unphased. Once he was assured that would work, instantly, more water began to spread outwards to every wall the scenario could cover. If anyone else was down there with him or also thought about the idea, he would know now.
”Everything has gravity” he finally explained to the method of his inward deluded thoughts of scientifical madness. ”Even clouds. They just have a little of it, which is what fog manifests from, slowly weighing itself back down to the pull of the Earth. Do you think it’s possible for you to make the steam I could produce light?”
He went on to explain further that he was going to make the manhole covers pop from the pressure, excluding the two as long as his concentration willed it to protect them. The force from those would cause the steam or fog, alongside him expelling the water particles. Where August fit in on this was simple in that he was going to lift the weight away so that when it did erupt out, it would easily flow and connect as opposed to instantly sinking to the ground. The second his own comm link went off through his ear to notify him and the others about current situations they were facing with the opposing team, he knew it was time to act immediately.
”I may have something that can work” he chimed in. ”And though it’s no high road, so to say, most often forget that the person who made it to the other side took the low path.”
He nodded at August, trusting the male would do his part and instantly began making his move. With the water already spreading over the walls, sliding bits of them around the manholes themselves to make sure they were nice and tight, ready to pop open when the pressure was good enough. He took the time to secure the holes required to lift it out with a thin layer of water as to keep it contained. True to his word, neither August nor himself were being affected by the changes beginning to take place unless you counted a brief trip through a sauna as something bad. When the water began to flow around the pipes, the cool colliding with the hot began to make steam once more. His eyes were closed as he concentrated, spreading the steam itself outwards for it to make pressure in the place overall. If anyone lifted the covers, provided they could from not just the heavy frame alone, but also from him wedging water in between every nook and cranny, the plan would be a bust and they would simply have to move on from there. For now though, he was doing as he said, the steam manifesting as he controlled it.
There were several endgoals to this. The first was obvious: To obscure vision. This would occur on both sides as Marcel was not even sure he could make it so his own team saw clearly. However, this gave him a feel of the entire scenario itself, how to map it out, who to look for, and the likes. This even included the generalized pixelated soldiers on both sides, well those the fog would be able to reach on the ground level at least. The buildings above would be another problem on it’s own as this was not an instant-win solution. Just a means to cover one asset. Second endgoal? With all the manhole covers popping like it would, they would perceive that someone was underground, but rather than just providing one exit to have as a means of a pincer, several locations would be opened and with the fog in place, complete and total isolation was bound to occur.
Of course, there was the ultimate endgoal of all: Free reign. Marcel could not make the fog itself in every location just wash out their enemies. The water was too light for that. What he could do however is use it for his personal use, meaning he would have to concentrate to gather the water together and use, which was not a problem at all for him. This was just one grand way to get him to play strategically and advantageously outside to make up for his slight lack of firearms training. It would be easy to merely trick a few people up with water and shoot them from there after all.
The steam has risen to the top in the sewers, the environment before them covered from head to toe, except around them. The sewers themselves were in turmoil as more than likely by now someone or everyone could feel the slight tremors underneath from the pressure building. By then, the covers themselves were escalating to heat themselves. When he was given the go ahead by August, he released his hold on the covers and the rest took care of itself paired with his control. The lids popped like geysers and Marcel instantly began to connect each with the other till before the scenario itself was a soft tuft of fog. Now he had a better feel of the area like a sixth sense and either side could most likely move freely. He may have just made this better or worse on his team’s end. Question now was which sewer hole did they leave out from.
"We may have an hour or less at most given how fast it can dissipate. Here's hoping I don't lead us directly in the line of fire."OOC:

Lachlan Beckham
Training Simulation: Rooftop to the Ground Lachlan couldn't help but frown upon being alerted that his newbie debut was going to be a simulation in conjunction with the opposing team. While it was a lot more favorable than being outright thrown into a real mission, the farm boy couldn't help but feel uneasy, especially when enlightened to the fact they were permitted, even encouraged, to use their abilities. That was probably the last thing he wanted to hear.
Hope remained, however, considering the exercise was primarily a laser tag event. That meant he could definitely try his hardest to keep his distance. While he didn't want to disappoint Bella or any of his fellow alphas for that matter, he also didn't want to fully immerse himself into the fray. As the newbie, perhaps he ought to have been more compelled to prove himself, however, Lachlan was perfectly fine with taking a backseat, observing over time and trying to learn in order to adapt as much as possible. After all, he was certain the more seasoned alphas were much more suited to hunting than he was.
Naturally, being a farm kid, he knew his way around a basic rifle in the event he'd needed to come to his cattle's aid, but that didn't mean he was comfortable with nor particularly enjoyed using them. Of course, laser tag was a little different. The lethal factor didn't come into play, yet another relief to the amiable mutant with super strength. At the very least, he knew how to aim and use a gun if he absolutely had to, although he was no practiced marksman.
Halfway purposely, the super strong mutant had shown up a little late, receiving some natural flack from the superiors overseeing the simulation. He was quickly geared up with the basic necessities and hastily coerced into the challenge completely blind. Fortunately for him, however, there were starting zones and naturally he gravitated toward the familiarity of his teammates.
He hadn't missed people relaying their information over the comms, offering a careful ear in order to take in as much info as he could possibly handle. It went without a whole lot of say that communication was going to be key in a game like this. It was like a high stress chess game, one where he didn't want to be the first pawn to fall.
An uneasy chill traveled down Lachlan's spine as a familiar voice registered over the comms, one that he'd spoken with briefly. He was in slight disbelief that they had been willing to release Katerina so early, considering she had legitimately tried to kill Isabella. It definitely had the super strong mutant pondering whether the former assassin-esque woman had been truthful with whoever had decided to release her. Likely not.
A new sense of purpose, however, reinvigorated the farm boy. He definitely wanted to stick close to Bella especially after the talk he'd had with Katerina previously. The last time Leo had been there to stay Katerina's hand, however, considering the letter on his door the other day, something told Lachlan he wouldn't be there if there happened to be a next time.
A sunken feeling formed in the pit of his stomach. While he hadn't known Leo particularly well, the terms he'd departed under just didn't sit the greatest with the super strong mutant. The taste was definitely bittersweet, especially knowing the animal mimic had gone out of his way to assure there were no hard feelings between the two of them. The departure left him feeling a little melancholy, as if he'd lost a potential friend. If he felt that way, he could only imagine what Bella was likely going through.
Of course, that was why Lachlan had to take it upon himself to assure there would be someone there to intervene should Katerina make another attempt on Isabella's life. A part of him still wondered what would have happened had he allowed Leo to deal with Kat on his own terms. Deep down, Lachlan knew he didn't want to know and despite Kat's harsh prerogative, he took solace in the fact he still would have came to her aid regardless.
That meant, however, he had to deal with the consequences of his decision, that it fell upon his shoulders to assure Bella remained safe. While he wasn't certain he was the best suited for the task, it certainly wouldn't stop him from trying his absolute hardest.
Finally, after his own mental pep talk, he decided to take up his comm and let the rest of his teammates know he was available to assist if needed. "Hey team," he spoke into the comm, knowing full well there was a pair of ears (Kat's) he didn't necessarily want to alert to his arrival, "sorry I'm late! This is Rectify: I'm going to remain on standby, just let me know if you require my assistance."
It took a bit of lone wandering and searching, but eventually the super strong mutant managed to pin point both Bella and Eden's location via a small comm chat with Eden and a pair of good eyes. He was relieved to know that someone had taken it upon themselves to pair up with Bella while he'd been absent. A modest smile was subconsciously offered in Eden's direction as a silent thanks, although he was certain the gesture would be received as a greeting rather than a 'thank-you'.
Lachlan's smile, however, was quickly replaced with concern as Bella blurted the fact that someone had vowed to kill her. "Who," Lachlan asked with a frown, fully anticipating the perpetrator to be Kat, "would want to kill you?"
Slight irritation in the form of a sigh escaped him, clearly the death threats hadn't sat well with the friendly giant. "Don't let it bother you, Bella, Eden and I will make sure to watch your back."
A few moments passed and an unfamiliar voice tapped into the comm system. It seemed he wasn't the only newbie out in the field today, hopefully that didn't mean the omegas would be able to pick on them for inexperience. Lachlan graciously lifted his comm and decided to greet the voice on the other side that outwardly illustrated the way he felt inside, "Hey, Wraith, welcome to the team! I'm Recitfy. Feel free to join us, if you need some help finding us, just let me know."
Although they were laser guns, initially Lachlan felt slightly reserved pulling the fake triggers despite the fact he knew they were in a simulation. However, when Eden decided to take off and try to keep Alice and Blake at bay, he decided to assist by offering some cover fire. Unlike Eden, however, Lachlan was limited to the roof of the building, trying his best to offer some supporting shots while also assuring he had his own cover in the meantime. "I'll try my best to cover you, Eden. Can't promise I'll be a great shot: I've only fired my dad's rifles a few times to scare the coyotes off."
Mere seconds later and the building they were taking cover on was violently shaking to the point he was questioning its integrity. A genuine concern overtook his features as he tried to remind himself they were only in a simulation and that hopefully meant an earthquake or whatever was going on couldn't hurt them too horrifically. "Uh, Eden, Bella, I think we're probably going to want to orchestrate an emergency exit strategy, pronto. Any ideas?"
Lachlan, personally, was looking for the nearest fire escape or building next to them to hop to. He figured it wouldn't hurt asking the other two if they had any better, perhaps more creative ideas than his own.

Gabriel Byrne Location: Battleground Thoughts: On Overwatch Gabriel moved his way up to a vantage point, opting to take a high point rather than stick to ground level combat. Much as he had no problem going through alleyways, he preferred being in a sniper position. There was a necessity for patience in that role, and that tendency for solitude. Sure most sharpshooter teams worked with a partner, a spotter usually but he could hypothetically replace that with a targeting computer. He took a table inside the apartment, bringing it up to the windowsill. The table was pretty sturdy, and he climbed onto it and laid flat across it. He leveled the weapon out, shouldering the rifle. The barrel just barely stuck out of the window. Aurie warned that Narcissa may be gunning for him, to which he just shrugged, “She’d have to find me first.”The marksman kept his finger on the trigger, listening to Bella give the team info. He was glad that their leader had such hearing, that she was able to pick up on enemy movements. There was reports that Sparrow and Feral of the Omega team were headed their direction. Kat offering to take down the pair. With a smirk he added in “With the way you shoot I might just be offering a distraction.”Give credit where its due, she knew how to shoot. Relaxing a bit, he stared down the sights of his weapon when Allegra asked if he saw any movement, referring to him as “sharpshooter”. He snickered a moment at this, before answering “Nothing yet I’m afr-“ he stopped, seeing definite movement up ahead, “Scratch that, definitely see something up ahead. Remind me, Feral can go vicious right? Best guess is he’ll be used as a front line bullrush to flush you two out, leaving Sparrow to try and sweep up.”“Kat you’re more the tactician here, how best would you like to proceed? I can offer up some cover fire, throw them off with shots coming from above.” he suggested, leaving it up to her to decide, “Your call, I’m up for anything if it’ll work.”He was prepared to use his mutation as well, much as he was loathe to. It put him in a precarious situation as he drained himself too quickly. He was a glass cannon. A glass ******** cannon he thought to himself. OOC: Let me know of any questions or anything I missed!

With: x Where: Training Room Wearing: Training Suit The room that had just last week been a peaceful beach for him and two others had taken on the appearance of a desolated city amongst their training. As everyone dispersed before any plans could be established, Finn felt forced to follow suit. Ducking into the cover of a dark alleyway, the Australian trudged its corridors, making sure to stay low and against the wall to avoid being spotted by the Omegas. Behind him Finn could pick up the fading sounds of cursing amongst the exchange of lasers. He could feel the environment spurring mild levels of adrenaline in him as his heart rose in pace.
Unsure of where the others went, Finn simply looked to find a decent place to keep safe while waiting for the events to further unfold themselves. He’d always been much more accustomed to reacting to the dangers rather than proactively trying to dominate them. He admittedly couldn’t care too much about the exercise either for the time being. While it made sense to run through these situations, he couldn’t entirely feel comfortable with the urban warfare aspect. ”I joined to save lives, not take them” he recalled telling his leader a week ago. While the two didn’t necessarily see these exercises or some X-men missions eye to eye, he nonetheless had to participate.
Reaching the end of the alleyway with nothing around to lead him out of it, it was clear that he had waltzed into a dead end. Pivoting on his heel, Finn turned to find an ambush waiting behind him. A group of three artificial soldiers had followed him into the area and set their sights on his health bar. ”Don’t suppose you’d let a Gent use the loo first?” he asked jokingly. He cocked a smile momentarily before diving for cover behind a large green dumpster as the lasers came firing. Sitting his butt to the ground, the Australian leaned his back against the cool steel of his cover. Clearly what Bella said about lone wolves being cornered easily was fair warning. He clutched his training gun tightly in both hands and released a sigh of discontent. Though the Australian had no propensity for violence, even if it was against artificial soldiers, he couldn’t allow himself to be the team’s weak spot. They depended on him to pull his own weight.
Cursing under his breath, the Australian laid prone on the ground, facing towards his assailants. With the butt of his gun pressed against his shoulder, Finn peaked the corner, fired a few rounds, and took cover behind the dumpster again. He repeated the motion over and over until the health bars of the soldiers as well as their artificial bodies disintegrated. ”Easy enough I guess,” he muttered to himself.
Slowly rising to his feet, Finn peaked over his cover just fast enough catch a glimpse of more Omega reinforcements funnelling into the alley. Again, he cursed under his breath and sat to the ground behind the cover. He looked left and right for things to utilize but ultimately came up short. There had to have been eight or so soldiers pouring into the alley with potentially Omega students as well. Tilting his head back against the dumpster, Finn reached for his comm that had rung to life not too long ago with the voices of his teammates. He brought it to the side of his head and spoke warmly into it ”If any of you have a vantage point, I’d appreciate some help. Currently pinned down in an alleyway near the starting point by quite a few soldiers.”
Peaking his head around the side of the dumpster to get a better look at the numbers, he immediately had to pull back as the lasers came roaring at him. The soldiers were closing in faster than the last bunch. On top of it, an odd fog was beginning to set into the simulation. He wasn’t sure whether it was part of the training simulator or a stunt by one of the students but it helped conceal him. ”About eight or so soldiers, ten metres out from my position at the end of the alleyway,” he radioed in again. Unsure of whether anyone would answer the call fast enough, Finn readied his weapon and fired into the fog hoping to buy himself some time, if not win some points before going down.

Oh, even if we're discovered xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxJust be sure to wear your best; we will surely make the covers.Alpha ✖ Danger Room ✖ Costumexxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If there was one thing the gentleman thief did not like, it was always guns. Something about the weapons always seemed so inherently uncivilized to him. He understood it was a matter of efficiency for any warrior on the battlefield, and the battlefield was hardly the place for a gentleman to begin with, but that in no way lessened his disdain for the weapons. He’d never used guns before in his training growing up as a member of the Hand, but he certainly knew several dozen different ways to disarm people wielding guns. If he had to use a weapon, he’d always felt far more comfortable with a bladed weapons in his hands. He’d grown up wielding katanas, kamas, and kunai, among other far outdated but still useful weapons. He also was not particularly skilled in the use of firearms. He’d been trained to fight and assassinate in the traditional way of the ninja, but adapted to fight modern threats. He could take down a half dozen fully armed and loaded soldiers wielding nothing but a katana and the clever use of his mutant abilities.
He could do it even faster if he meant to kill them.
Such being the case, he did not feel particularly enthusiastic about having to use guns for this particular danger room exercise. He understood the application of such training, but that still did not erase the distaste inherent to his usage of guns. He would have preferred it if this were a simpler hand-to-hand exercise where he could instead use his cane. As much as he hated the idea of using guns, not a note of displeasure escaped the man’s lips. He simply rolled with the punches as they came. The exercises they’d done earlier in the week had been far easier on him. Not only did they not involve him having to use guns, they were obstacles courses. Such things were far more simple than a combat simulation, but they were tenfold easier when one had the mutant ability to teleport. To say that the simulations were child’s play would be putting it lightly.
Hopefully this would prove to be a bit more of a challenge.
As soon as the exercise began and everyone dispersed into smaller groups, Julian immediately went to the rooftops. He disappeared in the blink of an eye and a puff of smoke. He kept himself crouched down so he would not be too noticeable as he scouted ahead. He felt that with his particular skills he would be best served scouting for others and calling out targets should they appear. This was why he chose a gun with a scope attached to it; it made it easier to scope out targets, while also giving him a clear view of locations which he could teleport to. He never stuck to the same vantage point for too long, letting himself be constantly on the move. He would use one rooftop to scope out the area from all sides, then immediately disappear in a puff of smoke to the next building. Other team members of his got the same idea, with Gabriel using a sniper roost, but he felt he could do a little more with his own abilities, able to scout ahead and zip away if the situation got too heated. He could also swoop in and get people out of a bind if he came across teammates that were ambushed.
He found one such opportunity to come to a teammate’s rescue when he heard a call for help come in with an Australian accent. He faded into a cloud of smoke and reappeared on a rooftop adjacent to where the man had pointed out and looked down at the alleyways until her he saw the man hiding behind some cover, cornered by many foot soldiers. He also noted a light mist settling in, though it was not exactly thick enough for him to do what he wanted. He reached into his belt and pulled out one of his signature smoke bombs. He pulled the ring and let some of the smoke fan out from his hands for a second before dropping it in the middle of all the foot soldiers. He waited until the alley filled up with enough smoke for his liking. He jumped back when several of the rifles were trained his way.
He once again blinked from existence and disappeared into a cloud of black smoke. He reappeared a moment later in the middle of the group of soldiers. Without a second’s hesitation he extended his left elbow to the back of one soldier’s neck to his left, striking him as hard as he could. In that same motion, he extended his right hand toward another soldier, squeezing the trigger as the barrel nearly kissed the foot soldier’s skin. He was not particularly skilled with the use of a gun, but at this point blank range he really could not miss. He teleported away when all of the soldiers once again tried to train their barrels at him, reappearing about three meters away from the smoke cloud and behind the crowd of digital foot soldiers. He fired away at the soldiers, squeezing the trigger six times. He aimed in the general direction of the smoke cloud, not actually trying to hit anyone specifically, merely trying to get their attention. Once their barrels were trained on him again, he was once again disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
This time, he appeared right next to Finn, with an extended left hand. ”Come with me if you want to live,” said the masked Englishman to the amphibian, ready to teleport away to some place more relatively safe.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxOh, if we run this lightxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Take a little lifexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx No one will care at all.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Oh, we canBurn it and leavexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For we are the beautiful thieves. ❤ Team: ALPHA ❤ Location: Training Sim - Apartment Rooftop to Street Level ❤ Isabella rubbed her earlobes out of mild irritation. There were conversations happening that she didn’t want to hear. She didn’t want know how or why Alice loathed her. She couldn’t take hearing about the long hidden torch that Blake had apparently carried for her throughout the years. It hadn’t been the right time before and it certainly wasn’t now. It was only Eden’s cheerful chatter that pulled her out of her overtaxed senses and back to the rooftop. She was glad that the flying-girl hadn’t minded that Bella took things away from ground level, but in retrospect, she should have expected that. It made sense that Eden would rather be high in the sky. It was true that observing was never as much fun as participating—But it was only a matter of time. The Alpha’s and the Omega’s were pretty evenly matched as far as numbers went. Eventually, someone was going to need back up.
The songstress paused briefly when Eden agreed with her plan and suggested in the cutest way she’d ever heard that they ‘tear the Omegas up’. “Oh Vega, you’ll have them shaking in their boots.”, she spoke with a small smile, vaguely Hispanic accent tilting the ends of her words. Eden was so happy that it made Isabella feel like a mirror. She wanted to feel her joy, her enthusiasm, but she was limited to reflecting.
She caught the sounds of heavy footsteps approaching but didn’t quite track who it was until he spoke. If it wasn’t a friendly, Eden would let her know. Isabella wasn’t always able to hear what was closest to her while she was making observations on things that were far away. It spread her too thinly to try. Both Eden and Lachlan both asked about the person that wanted to kill her at nearly the same time. The songstress sighed. She probably shouldn’t have blurted it out…But truly, it didn’t make sense. Perhaps it was meant for her to hear. To drive the wedge between herself and Blake just a little bit wider. She didn’t want to let it happen; but friendship was a two way street. She couldn’t force him to do anything he didn’t want to. “I… Don’t know if it was a real threat. It was probably just Omega’s being Omega’s. You know how they are. They could just want to mess up my face a little.”
Under Narcissa’s leadership; it was a good lie. Anyone that had been at the Academy for more than twenty minutes knew that the blonde bombshell was basically an insane. The suggestion of bodily injury could just as easily have come from the Red Queen.
The sound user turned head to smile gratefully at Eden and Lachlan when the farm boy mentioned that they would have her back. It was a sweet and appreciated gesture. She felt incredibly exposed and alone with Leo gone. He had a penchant for shielding her when she needed it most. The voice of a new Alpha, Wraith, interrupted her broadcasts over the commlink. She nodded her head when Rectify invited him to their group. It was a good idea. Being alone was more than likely a mistake; no matter the skill set in question.
It was about then that Isabella caught the tail end of Blake’s plan. To bring the nearby buildings down with his friend girl. It would eliminate the advantage of higher ground; but what about the Alpha’s inside and around them? The damage they took was MUTED for the sake of a training purposes but not nonexistent. A building falling, was still a building falling. Emerald eyes grew distant. They were touched with a chill that made her unrecognizable. Perhaps Blake had been an Omega too long. Was she so, so very blind that she was incapable of seeing his affection or this newly created indifference?
Isabella had always believed that Blake was a good person. A patient man, and a kind friend.
Now he wanted to bury them.
~Everyone get out and away from the buildings near my location. The Omega’s are planning to bring them down. I repeat – Get out of the buildings!~
The rooftop they were standing on began to shake almost immediately and Isabella watched with self-possessed shock as the structure next to them went down in a hurry. She blinked once, twice, and felt her breath catch in her throat from how much it reminded her of the destruction on Genosha. Her ears picked up on some of the extremely subtle differences between what was real and what wasn’t…But it was still disturbing. The fall was near instantaneous. As if there were no supports left to hold the building up. There were so many vibrational patterns. It created so much noise. So much sound. So much power, and nowhere for it to go. Isabella felt swallowed.
Eden began firing on Blake and Alice before the songstress could say anything either way. It wouldn’t be much of a bother for the cheerful brunette if the building crumbled. Isabella could just see her floating safely to the ground like one of those old pull string ‘Sky Dancer’ toys. More likely than that, however, their situation probably hadn’t struck the girl as dangerous despite her warning. She caught sight of Alice, or Aftershock, retaliating to Vega’s imprecise shots and her eyes widened. The apartment building they were on didn’t stand a chance. And it was way, way too close to the one beside it.
As Lachlan started talking about making an exit Isabella grabbed him by the hand and pulled him at a run toward the edge of the roof. “Trust me--And jump.”, she proclaimed hastily, teeth chattering around inside her skull from the shaking the building was doing. Bella released Lachlan so they wouldn’t wrench each other’s arms out of socket when they landed. The gap wasn’t wide but their footing was seriously unsteady. The small woman fell into an uncharacteristically clumsy roll on the rooftop that left her kneeling. Her first thought was Eden. She didn’t know how much of a target she was. If her friend got nailed by a falling satellite dish…“Vega—Back up and get a little cover.”
It was hard to stand up but she managed with the help of some kind of HVAC equipment. The building they were on had partially crashed into the new one. It was creaking and swaying—They couldn’t say here. She looked around for Lachlan and breathed a sigh of relief when dark green eyes found him. “Get to ground as safely as you can. This building won’t survive another hit so make it fast.”
“I’m going down.”
The sound user gathered sub-sonic waves the same way she had before and used them to launch herself off the rooftop. It pushed her to the left of the fall out of the first building—But closer to the Omega’s that had caused the destruction in the first place. Her hands pressed straight down to her sides as she used her ability to slow her descent until her boots touched street level. Mist swirled around her ankles. It struck her as odd that it was rising steadily but it wasn’t something she could worry about yet. Finn’s voice came through the communicator asking for assistance. She knew how much her new amphibious Alpha hated this kind of scenario…But if he couldn’t handle this; the daily grind would really put him through the ringer. He wasn’t far. She stretched her hearing as much as she dared, refusing to take her eyes off of Alice or Blake, only to find that Julian was on the case. ~Nice save Eidolon but get yourself and Kraken out of that alleyway yesterday.~
There wasn’t much evident in her quiet stare as it leveled on two people wearing dark uniforms with glowing red pieces. She saw them clearly. Blake, still slightly hidden behind a slab of concrete. Alice a little bit further away. Both were missing blocks on their health bars. Likely from civilian collateral damage.
~…You tried to drop a building on us….~
That was her only warning before she raised her hands and threw a screaming wide-wave of sonic energy in their direction. The ground shook lightly as it traveled, pieces of rock and debris vibrating across the asphalt. It wasn’t fully powered by any means but there was enough force behind it to knock most mutants off their feet. It was also possible that the Omega’s she was aiming at might feel a little bit of tinnitus or perhaps a touch of nausea. Low grade sonic attacks affected everyone differently—especially when she was at such close range.
Unlike some people--She remembered very clearly that it was a training exercise. Not a fight to the death. "...Everyone's pretty and hiding an ugly truth. Deception is all around. Watch out - Use caution now...."
OOC: Let me know if I missed anything important.

Raine assembled in the simulation room, along with the rest of the Alphas, for what was sure to be an interesting training session. It seemed like it was rare for the two teams to train together, against each other, but she could see the Omegas amassing on the other side of the room and she instantly knew that this was going to be chaos. Each of the teams had their own strengths, of course, but it seemed like the Omegas were masters of brute force and destruction, two things that were often difficult to combat. It was that thought that showed her the purpose for this exercise - their last mission had been such a disaster that they needed to train against the same brute mentality, albeit in a controlled setting.
Bella greeted them warmly before explaining the details of the exercise. Laser tag wasn't something that held appeal for her on a good day, so she wasn't exactly thrilled about being forced into it. Training was training, though, so she would put on her best smile and participate with the rest of them. Given their enemies, it would only take a matter of time for Felix singled her out and shot her with a laser five hundred times until she was "out." Even if they had been spending a lot of time together, in various settings, she just felt in her bones that she would be seeing him, or at least his blur, at one point or another. She'd have to figure it out when the time came. Until then, there was chaos erupting around her as the match began and people started running in all directions, laser beams streaming through the air.
All she could think to do was hit the deck, so the brunette fell to the ground, crawling behind whatever and whoever she could use as cover towards the closest group of Alphas that she could find. Divine providence intervened to make her targets Bella and Eden.
The firefly had not gotten the opportunity to spend much time with the flying girl as she might have liked, but they had been given so many new members and she already had so many obligations on her time, academic and recreational. There was just no way she could be on the welcome committee, keep her grades up, put in the training that they so clearly needed and have time in her evenings for Felix's tutoring sessions. Now was as good a time as any to make the girl's acquaintance.
She followed the girls down an alleyway to escape the worst of the firefight, smiling up at the floating girl as she offered their leader some backup. "Mind if I tag along," she asked the girls as her smile brightened, doing her best to keep an eye on their surroundings to make sure that they weren't caught unawares. As if on cue, Gabriel sounded through their comms that he had taken a vantage point and would be able to keep them abreast of the Omegas movements.
The sounds of battle were all over now, her adrenaline starting to rise as tiny sparkles of electricity started to seep from her skin, glittering across her exposed hands and face. They moved up to the nearest rooftop so that they could get the lay of the land, Bella calling out the locations of the Omegas that she could see to the others. She seemed concerned with the fact that Alice, who had teamed up with Blake, seemed intent on taking her our personally, Raine sure that there was some sort of story behind the whole thing that they didn't have time to get into later. She made a mental note to ask about it later, if it seemed appropriate. Right now there were more important things for them to be focusing on.
She found that the palm wrapped around the hilt of the gun in her hand was sweating, the brunette wishing that she could just use her powers. They must have accounted for her powers when configuring her laser tag equipment, otherwise the interaction of her powers and her sweaty palm would likely have short-circuited it by now. Perhaps that was something she could use to her advantage...
The firefly couldn't help but giggle at Eden chipper personality, even in the midst of a battle. "That is so intimidating," she remarked, moving to the other side of the ledge and assist with their cover fire. Lachlan joined them shortly after, offering his services to cover them as well. The more the merrier as far as she was concerned, the brunette giving him a soft smile.
Ducking behind the edge of the roof for cover, she muttered a curse to herself as the building beneath her feet started to shake. It was minor at first, but got progressively worse. Lachlan suggested that they make an emergency exit, a notion that the firefly couldn't help but nod in agreement with.
"I second that," she called out, grabbing ahold of the ledge to steady herself as it felt like the building began to crumble beneath them. The building next to them fell with a boom, debris and dust kicking up in the air as the brunette screamed and shut her eyes. She heard Bella tell Lachlan to trust her as the two left the building. Raine was sure that there was some facet of her powers that would save her from harm, but for the life of her, she couldn't really think of one.
Hazel eyes looked wildly around the rooftop as she tried to find something to save herself, but came up empty. All she saw was Vega still floating and shooting at their enemies. That would have to work.
"Help me Help me Help me Help me Help me," she screamed as she ran across the rooftop towards the flyer, jumping and grabbing ahold of the girl's legs as she felt the roof beneath her fall away. She still felt like her entire body was vibrating from the rooftop, her eyes shut tight as she continued to scream.
"Please don't let me fall. Please please please," she cried, burying her face into the girl's legs as her legs kicked wildly of their own accord. If only she'd opened her eyes to see that she wasn't plummeting to her death, but instead slowly lowering towards the ground thanks to Eden's ability.

Dimitri Otengam, Codename: Playboy, Location: Gym, then Danger room Pre-Alkali Lake
"Its a Ki ring." Designed specifically to track and damper Fox's abilities." Glance slowly approached the ring with his fingers. It didn't have any letters or symbols like he or D would expect. It was a casual ring for fashion or as a symbol of promise. When he touched it, he gave relief that it wasn't booby trapped via contact.
"Concentration?"
"It works a bit different. Give it here." The hybrid requested. Glance picked it up and underhand tossed it to him. Dimitri's eyes looked over to his partner for a brief moment, then back to Oliver; anticipating whatever he had planned.
Oliver caught the jewerly with his thumb and forefinger. "Serra's source of utilizing her constructs comes from her power. " he explained while sliding on the ring. "Sacricing your energy in exchange of harnessing necro energy."
T/S
Controlling his breathing and form was one of the few things that he was focused on at the moment. That was one of the great parts of exercising; the mind was less clouded even when the body was taking all the stress. After the Alpha left his stains on the tire flip sets, he moved to the long jump. After the 5th set on the field it started to creep up on him, like a snake in the jungle hunting its prey. His loud exhales after each jump took on the sound of its slither. "Come on. " he urged through his teeth.
He went into overdrive for the last half of the grass field. The controlled breaths began to be mixed with grunts and the burn in his muscles were becoming more intense. Once he crossed the finish line Dimitri quickly grasped his knees with his hands and took in huge breaths. Sweat orbs were freefalling from his face and crashing on the floor. The sweat on rest of his body was following suit as well. After what he felt was a good period to cooldown, his body couldn't hold.
"Nngh, s**t." His step became heavy and his body dropped to a knee. Seconds later a clanging noise came from his back after uncontrollably tipping over to his back as if he was a farm cow.
he uttered.
Another part about training was the feeling of relaxation that came afterwards. Especially, especially after the whole Daylia bullshit. Of all the people to believe... All over a ******** assumption, a misinterpretation? Right after the gym Dimitri took a trip to see Elixir. The sooner that he got this fixed, with the fewer number of people knowing about it the better. Roland also helped him out too making sure he'd keep the scenario in lock.He had no beef with Kerri and soon as speak to Jinx if the chips were down. But since then he had been ignoring the chameleon. He was in the right, she was in the wrong hands down.
Implying she was a fatass? debatable.
Just in case however D expected the worst and he was ready for the verbal shots and jabs coming his way. Whether he was in the kitchen making a meal, or in the gym working on his gymnastics. Or even now in the danger room for their training routine when he was close to being one of the stragglers. He kept to himself and stood at ease with his hands in his sweatpants. "Mornin.."
He was reminded of tiny traces his dream, rubbing the bags under his reddish eyes when she brought up having a good night sleep; along with the cause of it.
"You tried to take my sheild down didn't you...You were so close too..."
"You failed your team Dimitri."
His eyes shifted down to the floor. "Sure..."
Mutant laser tag was going to be, interesting. Even moreso since they're going to be participating with the Omegas. Had it been a normal team sesh, the Alpha would have made an attempt to play the hooky card. As long as he performed on the field, in the real world right? The rules were simple along with the consequence should they lose. But what was this about dampening powers? It made sense but Dimitri was concerned about how much they were weakened versus trying to put somebody in a stretcher.
Each omega he scanned nonchalantly. D expected them to at least team up in two. Although he knew the gist of their powers, mental notes were being jotted anyway. In doing so he of course he locked on to one of them. "Raincheck me." he said to Marcel. "No pun intended." He stayed connected to the Jinx, giving a brow raise that could have anything but "that" intention behind it and pressed a finger to a pectoral. He already had a teammate in hand. In seconds he went to his alpha suit finishing the touch by putting on his shades with his left hand and his pistol laser in his right.
In seconds they went from Alkali to the depths of New York City. Buildings that were stories tall were summoned around them from the simulation. Sedans and coupes were parked by meters(since it was NYC) and pedestrians took on the role of whatever their mindset and goals were at. As an alpha he had to get into his zone when Bella gave the go. And so did he when it came to what squad he would be on.
"Going Dolo." He ran a few steps away from the team and blasted off into the skies in circular motions to avoid laser fire from the soldiers. The high ground was priority first. Once he got to the top of the nearest building he set his lava thrusters underneath his shoes to hover. Disappearing upon landing, Dimitri once again dropped to one knee; scoping out the landscape and formulating a plan.
"Gotta be quick. Get in and out. " His shades already targeted the people he was looking for.
The Alpha ran towards the cliff, entered a dive and activated his lava thrusters again. He engaged in flight mode and zoomed through the city blocks unsuspected. He laid down blind laser fire towards the soldiers who were trying to direct attention towards him. And to his surprise, one of the soldiers dematerialized. "Hm.Better than nothing."
Dimitri was getting closer now and applied an extra squeeze to his pistol. "Doninant hand..." he envisioned himself back in the gun range(as mentioned on page 29), days after the mission. Next he extended his arms out, and placed fingers of his non-dominant hand over his own and under the trigger. "Proper position..." He was meters away from the corner now. "Eyes on the target..." With a quick turn he aimed the sights the King, (Red)Queen and anyone else that hasn't positioned themselves.
"S'cuse me."
Eight shots were fired from above; three each towards Narcissa and Aren. On one hand he figured that by getting the jump on the bow and arrow couple he could at least nick some bars off. But because he was moving and firing, some shots would be inches or so away from hitting them. Luckily Dimitri had more to pop off. With a 180 degree barrel roll he was now facing their squad blasting off away from them. He aimed slightly downward and opened fire between his lege a red volley of laser blasts towards the queen and the other chess pieces; strafing left and right in the process in an attempt to avoid incoming fire.
After his trigger finger requested 6 more shots for a total of 20 he did another 180 degree barrel roll. This time he looked forward to make his defensive exit. With his left hand he shot out orange liquid that formed a thin hot rectangular barrier 3 feet by feet to protect him. "Come on baby..." When he saw the 2nd corner, he dismissed his shield and turned right, flying at an angle towards the top of another building and across to the next one.
"Nobody on my tail..." he landed immediately and placed his hands behind his head to catch his breath. He was warmed up now, and realized what the power dampening effect was about. Dimitri felt something, off when he threw up his barrier. He made another mental note and kept on his goal.
"Stick and move baby, stick and move." He kept low and switched his device channel to all of his team members. "Welcome to Playboy airlines this is your captain speaking. Just a quick reminder that we got your eyes in the skies and if you need us to make it rain on some omegas, give us a holler."
Then he heard rumbling that almost made him mention the disclaimers. In the distance, a building slowly began to violently shrink in height before compressing altogether into a pile of large debris. "Um, unless you were in that building. Then you can't holler. Most likely muffle. By the way that was from one of us right?"
Wrong. Whoever was over there by Bella was going to do some reconstruction work. There were a few that had enough power to cause that type of damage. But wasn't this a simulation, instead of a deathmatch? "Falling buildings? You really have bad luck with people wanting to keep you alive don't you?" Playboy knew she was going to be alright, but that was his way of asking if she was good and if she needed assistance
And speaking of 'One of us'...
He opened the the roof exit door of the building he was on top of and heard an unfamiliar voice. "Online?" he asked himself while shuffling down the stairs. Rather than ask Bella, he decided to randomly switch to the telekinetic's channel "We have a robot?" His facetious guess wasn't too far off. Guesses like those were never too far off from the x-men.
When he reached down to the hallway, he opened door after door until he saw an opening to a balcony. If he were to switch it up on the omegas by taking the high and low route, not only could he be a bit difficult to take down, but become closer to surviving this session. What better rights after that than the bragging ones?
Another voice chimed in; one of the new guys. Somehow he got stuck by the start zone, unable to get the upper hand right away. At least it didn't involve an omega. He broke into a split sprint towards the screen door. Once outside he went back on the move, zipping through an alternate route in the city instead of above back to the beginning. With eyes ahead of him, blind fire was laid down by the alpha but no luck this time as they all missed his targets.
It was expected, but not when he would meet up with the cornered alpha newb to flank. That was when he saw Julian pumping into the picture Picking them off this time would take more accuracy from Dimitri due to some mist or fog spawning in their section. Perhaps Marcel could have had something to do with it. when suddenly Julian had jumped into the picture to help.
"I can fix that. "
"Eyes on the target..." With the soldiers focusing their attention on the jumper and the Kraken, Dimitri set his sights just as before on the distracted soldiers and sent a wave of lasers towards them. He expected to knock off a few this time from the speed he was clicking on the trigger. No doubt he would get their attention switched this time. The flyboy gave a drive by peace sign and turned the nearest corner before heading to the top of yet another roof. "Stick and move D.."
Stick and move.
(if i need to edit/make adjustments, holla)

╔═════════════════════════════╗ Alpha: Simulation Room |462| Thomas "Transmigration" Morgan ╚═════════════════════════════╝
Thomas found himself in the simulation room along with the rest of the team. Apparently they were to be doing some kind of laser tag against the Omegas. That was a rare thing to be sure. It wasn’t often the two teams were put against each other in any kind of simulation. Making a visual sweep of the assembled team, his eyes lingered on a few to be sure. Bella because they were old friends. Lachlan because they were new friends. Eden because she had been his bedmate for the last while. Of course it wasn’t like anyone on the outside might assume, and Thomas was still getting used to it, but he was a lot less awkward now. Not that that was saying much really.
His eyes ran over a few more teammates Aurelie, Raine, etc, before returning to Bella to listen to the rest of the meeting. There seemed to be a wager of sorts going for this simulation, with the losers having to clean the x-jet. It would be a large job even for the group of them. Too bad none of them could simply clean the jet by touching it.
There was also a damper on their abilities to attempt to make the whole thing safer, but apparently it wasn’t completely so. That could make things intriguing. This all didn’t sound a lot like Thomas’ thing, but he’d been exposed to games so it wasn’t something that completely uninterested him. Of course, Thomas was hardly a sharpshooter, so he didn’t know how much help he could be. Maybe just a human shield at the very least.
As Bella mentioned talking amongst themselves for the moment, Thomas remained silent, unsure of what he wanted to do at the moment. Perhaps it would be best for him to hang back and observe. He wasn’t the most combat ready of the Alphas to be sure.
When the simulation started, Thomas headed outside with the others and immediately ducked for cover. Observing where the others were headed, Thomas remained where he was for the moment. It wasn’t until he heard the sounds of a building literally crashing that he began to move in that direction. “Everyone alright?” Thomas asked over the comms. “I’m around if anyone needs me, just know I’m not the best shot. I could make a good human shield though.” He jested at the end to the others.
As he moved towards the building, Thomas was curious if his health bar would regenerate because of his abilities or not. Granted he doubted it would be immediate, but it did make him curious all the same. Not so curious as to try it out though. “Am I needed anywhere? Or should I just keep my eyes out for the others?”
(OOC: An extremely crappy post and I apologize. u.u)
╔═════════════════════════════╗ I will now rise from the ashes. Don't call me pretentious. I'm sitting here making my own rules. And if I fall from the ceiling. You'll be down there waiting. And my only hope. Is falling down. ╚═════════════════════════════╝

Cᴏʟʟɪɴ TᴀᴛʜᴇʀsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAᴍᴘTᴇᴀᴍ Aʟᴘʜᴀ :: Fᴇᴇʟɪɴɢ Freaked Out/About to pass out... :: Lᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ Simulator ::Cᴏᴍᴘᴀɴʏ Alex and possibly her doom :: Wᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ Uniform :: Iɴ Hᴇʀ Hᴇᴀᴅ Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiz........ :: ((If I messed anything up please tell me! I've been sick and busy with work and no internet so I may not have paid as well enough attention as I thought I did so I don't want to screw shiz up!)) She knew that look all too well. Alex gave a look of confusion and an answer that seemed to be more of a question of whether or not she said the right thing. Collin had dealt with that kind of reaction many times before, but it never stopped raising her awkward levels to new heights. She backed up to give the girl room to recover. She was pretty surprised that Alex still wanted to work with her after she almost made her go deaf. Collin nodded hesitant; she would do her best to make it up to her but as to how she hadn’t thought that far yet. Bashfulness took over when she added she would save her next time. She patted her hands together like a clap then hid her face to conceal her giddiness. Before she could do any other kind of strange gesture she nodded quickly once again.
She suggested going further down the alleyway to avoid the risk of getting seen. Collin followed close beside the blonde, who begun small talk, or planning? She couldn’t tell the difference but she was wishing she knew more about this kind of game. Collin presented a large grin and pointed at herself with her thumbs up. Like she had thought about before she loved playing this kind of thing back home, especially when the Megatonia Gaming Parlor was around the corner from your house. Realization that this could be the way to make it up to her settled in- she could get Alex through the game- exercise...exercise game!
She started to look around them. There wasn’t much it was just an alleyway, but above them was something very different. It was strange looking at a fake sky when it looked so real, but she wasn’t watching the holo-birds she was glaring at the spot where that holo solider jumped out from before. Collin reached out and touched Alex on the shoulder to stop her. She pointed upwards with both hands, one hand pointing with the gun. She grabbed her phone from her pouch, irritated that she was pointing at the sky like a weirdo with a laser pistol, and typed as quick as she could and showed Alex the screen,‘I play this a lot back home we should go up! You could use you super sight and ears to watch for the other team and I can help shoot thm out-’ she retreated it back realizing how odd that last sentence sounded, ‘NO IM SORRY NOT DEAD DON’T SHOOP DED OUT NO-’ Typed in a panic it was riddled with spelling errors, one of many moments to hate autocorrect…
Collin approached the wall and stalled underneath the fire escape ladder. She swung the gun over her shoulder and attempted to jump for it but couldn’t reach. A few failed jumps she silently sighed. She clicked her fingers forgetting she could use her powers in this dilemma, something she was still getting used to. She held her left hand over her right and snapped her fingers instead of turning her headset back on, at the risk of making too much noise. From that single snap a small glob of the plasma protruded from the palm of her right hand. She swished it from hand to hand like she was playing with silly putty as it got longer and longer. In no time she was swinging it like a lasso. She stopped and gripped the end to toss at the ladder like a grappling rope. The goop-like string looked flimsy but as soon as she tugged down crouching to the ground the ladder clanked down. She smirked thinking about how great it was that it worked.
She turned to Alex and gave the blonde a thumbs-up to begin ascending. She used the plasma over by squishing it in her hands and flattening it out into a large flat disc. She raised it over her head and started climbing- it was a shield. Getting a high ground vantage in this kind of game wasn’t the most genius of ideas, it was a no-brainer for those that have ever played or been in situations like this. She knew someone like Gabriel might be up there somewhere with one of his weapons, but at least he was an ally- she had no idea if the Omegas had anyone like him on their team, or someone even more dangerous.
After reaching the normal steps of the escape they made their way up til they hit the point they were at the roof. Collin started to rethink her idea then kicked a window- it wasn’t the first one she’s broken. She pointed in and slipped through. The inside looked as realistic as the hologram outside. The apartment was open with a straight view to the kitchen. For some reason it reminded her of her house. She walked around and sat on the chair, little hesitant since it was technically a hologram, but lucky for her and her backside it was alright, “Looks nice,” she complimented the apartment with a gesture. She felt it was a little too easy to be going around like this and only one holo-soldier destroyed so far. No way would she get the second best high-score this way.
She knelt and crept over to the not broken window by the kitchen area and typed on her phone,‘So what Omegas should we watch out for? I don’t know any of them I think…It seems too easy I’m worried…’ She couldn’t help but wonder about those she had met and befriended other than Alex, were they okay? She was the only one she was worried about everyone else was so experienced already- wait she worried about this already when she woke up…well damn she needed to get a grip. She flinched hearing a noise. It was one of those times it was so quiet a pencil dropping would scare someone. She jumped up and hugged the gun rather than point it. Instead she brought the shield forward and looked around. There was nothing in the room they were in so she side stepped slowly to the small hall that lead to the rest of the apartment. There was no telling what was hiding in those rooms. The first room she reached she pulled at the malleable shield and stretched its ends to points and hung them on the corners of the door. She stretched it down all the way to the floor and pushed those corners down too. That way if anything jumped out it would hit the plasma first. She reached through the substance and opened the door. She swung the gun up after letting go but…wasn’t really sure what she was looking at.
There was a kid playing with toys in the room. It was one of the holo-civilians, guess they filled the buildings too- either way it was a little creepy. She stepped away after removing the plasma from the doorway and wadded it up like a ball in her hands. Nonetheless relieved it wasn’t an enemy. She wiped her hand down her cheek, ‘Lord I’m making this too stressful…there better not be twins at the end of the hallway…’ She halted hearing something in her ear. Bella’s voice was speaking off updates on what the Omegas were up to. She sulked her head, why didn’t she memorize anyone’s code name?! She turned on her heel going back to Alex, but the kid in the room started screaming for no reason. She swung back around and two men with guns were coming at her from the far room. She stumbled back and threw the glob of plasma in her hand. She ran around the corner as the plasma hit them and burst. One of the good-bad issues with her powers, dropping that plasma it tended to kinda explode. She fell flat on the floor but scampered upright and closed in on Alex. She frantically began to sign, that attack was a lot more shock to her than the last one, ‘The kid! Soldiers run we have to go! Screaming kid!’
Getting attacked in the building gave her the realization that no place was safe. In fact it was better to assume that the inside of buildings were traps compared to the outside zone. In her frantic signing at the blonde three more holo soldiers burst in from the windows. Collin back up almost behind Alex now. She reached for her laser gun but in her panicked state she dropped it and a shot went off. Her hands sweated more plasma from the "pew pew" noise of the laser, so she used it and spread it out into a shield to protect them from the holo-soldier's fire. This had to be the worst idea ever but Collin thought of her second stupidest idea- she grabbed Alex's hand and her gun back over her shoulder and ran towards the window, the not broken one- well now it was.
Outside again the ground was quickly getting closer as they made their descent. If she timed it right Collin could turn her plasma into a bubble and they'd bounce safe and sound. Rumbling close to the building they had just escaped caught her attention and changed it to awe as they appeared to have been destroyed. What the heck!? She turned to face down again but it was too late. They smacked into the cup of the shield and it split from pressure, bursting and reverberating them away. Collin was face flat on the ground with one arm under her, if she could groan and tell herself that was a horrible idea she would. She lifted her head and looked for Alex, but she jerked up and scooted back til she hit a street sign, there was more just them now. She thought they had landed on something but didn't see what in the rush but now seeing the glare of this blonde stranger and tall dude looming by her in red cladded uniforms she knew- she had screwed up.

Name: Narcissa "Cissa" Grace Codename: Solaris Team: Omega Location: Sim Room - Team Laser Tag Narcissa watched Aren devour his lunch with a mild sense of bewilderment. A trash compactor monster lived in his stomach, surely. Where else did all that food go? How was he not the size of a house? At the very least, he should resemble a hippo. Her eyes rolled with vague disinterest when he returned her comment about taco meat being dog food. “I don’t think a dog would eat that unless they were starving to death.”
“Even then…I think chewing the leather out of the furniture would be preferable.”
The golden haired woman completely ignored his commentary about the bedroom and merely sighed. She could feel his mirth bubbling just beneath the surface of her skin. Oh, he was enjoying tormenting her. She reached out and cuffed him lightly behind the ear. It was a common response when he said something she didn’t feel like responding to. “You’re a heathen.”
From there she explained what Gabriel had wanted from her. Her eyes grew pale as her anger resurfaced. There was light in them that didn’t belong. “As kind as I felt like being.”, she amended lamely when his dimples softened her ire. How he managed to temper her without trying was beyond her. Annoying, because she wasn’t annoyed by it, not at all.
“It’s a dangerous game. We have generators…But he was referring to something more like self-sustaining free energy. Based on my ability…It’s only a matter of time before that becomes a weapon. I simply made it clear that I want no part in it. And that if he had any sense…He’d let it go.”
Narcissa sipped her hot tea with a tinge of amusement while her bare ankle rest against his. She could feel how it affected him through the bond they shared. It felt like everything, sometimes. Just the small amount of joy he took from the smallest bits of her affection left her with an unfamiliar sense of humility. It wasn’t her wealth that pleased him. Not her form, although it certainly didn’t hurt. It was her. Who she was where no one else could see. “I’d rather you chew your food versus watching you choke to death.”
After all, she’d already established that she wouldn’t be doing the Heimlich.
Once he finished and she’d drained the last of her tea Aren asked in his usual way what she wanted to do next. One elegant eyebrow rose at his insinuation and she sighed dramatically.
“Oh Aquene…Do go die in a fire.”
Narcissa could feel a twitch beginning just above her eye as Aren attempted to play innocent. The fact that she had to add in parameters so that there was no way for someone to eliminate themselves was taxing and a waste of time. “Noo? It doesn’t? I wouldn’t have guessed.”, she returned back to Tiny, batting feathery eyelashes in a way that did not at all denote that she was getting close to slapping him again.
She felt Aren pulling on her. Metaphysically tugging at her in the most intimate of ways. He didn’t seem to know how hard it was not to react to it. Not to show that she felt it. For the moment she was the violent leader of the Omega’s—And Solaris didn’t feel a thing.
There were times when Blake spoke that she was mostly sure he was from another planet. His whole southern belle routine really grated on her nerves. “…A little sting?”, she questioned, rather curious, to see if he understood the limitations of the simulation room. Eventually she shrugged and decided that she didn’t care to know or figure out what was going on in his head. So long as he fought his little heart out and contributed to the win. “I don’t care what kind of kinky closet cooter brown crap you’ve chosen…Just kick a little a** before you change your mind again.”
Alice chimed in to reassure her that she’d make up for Blake’s potential shortcomings and Narcissa smirked in response. “When Texas eventually flip-flops and winds up on the other side…I’m keeping you.”
“Just so you know.”
It was a compliment that the Red Queen would want to keep anyone for any reason. Most of the time she ordered peopled out of her space. Not into it. It just required the listener to see past the potential ownership that was implied. It also painted a very clear picture that words didn’t get Blake off the hook. Narcissa required action, and quite possibly ritual sacrifice. He could say that he was all in as much as he wanted…But she needed proof that he was a real Omega. Before she was willing to waste time on him she had to make sure that he wasn’t simply biding his time while Alice sewed the holes in his heart.
Love was a disease of the mind, body, and soul. Blake didn’t seem to know it until it was too late.
Her eyes flickered when she saw Felix. For the moment, her anger was redirected toward the speedster, versus the molecular manipulator. “For the fastest one on base…You’re really bloody slow. You’re late. Don’t do it again.”
Eventually the team broke up and Narcissa set to removing all of the pawns from the playing field. It was an easy enough task that served as a decent warm up. She was pleasantly surprised to find that Aren could indeed fire a pistol. “Thank the bloody Queen. You finally said something that made sense.”, she spoke appreciatively as her bow formed in her hands.
“Don’t insult me.”, she breathed with vitriol, seeming completely uninterested in his sentiments about her making a good ‘rez’ girl. Somewhere deep down she liked his approval. He may not have pulled on their tether, but in this case, he would find that he didn’t have to. Affection was there against her will. All on its own. “And don’t be an a**.”
Blake’s voice came over the comms to announce his plan to take down the buildings to remove any Alpha hiding places. She assumed that both he and Alice were aware that they would lose a little health for terminating civilian holograms—but was it worth flushing out their competitors? Absolutely. “Nasty bit of business that is… Do it.”
Peyton had some lovely choice words about it and Narcissa only snickered while she chewed Blake a new one on an open line. It was almost like she was a real girl when she got all fired up and irritated like that. The flaxen haired blonde only hoped that she held the common sense not to mouth off to her like that. So far so good. Besides, it wasn’t as if the demolition crew was planning on wiping out the whole city. There would still be plenty of places to hide.
Solaris went back to crossing the street, systematically destroying pawns as she went. The longer she held back the arrow the brighter it got. The brighter it got—The more powerful the shot. She notched two arrows at a time and with a small bit of concentration it was more than enough to frag them. The holo-rent-a-cops only served to entertain her for so long though. By the time they thinned the pack to nothingness there was a thick smog rising from the ground. It smelled off. Rank. Worse than that, it was wrecking her visibility.
It was about then that someone started rapid fire shooting at them. Although they weren’t aiming all that well for the first pass—the second pass definitely clipped her a few times. She swore as she ducked down behind a shiny sedan. A peek through the windows showed that some Alpha idiot was rolling around in the air like a stuntman for a Bruce Lee remake. Cissa rolled her eyes and drew back her fist before she launched a volley of bright white light in Dimitri Otengam’s direction.
She didn’t know if her first blast hit the magma user; but the second was definitely stopped by his lava wall as he ran away. “What a coward…”, she sneered darkly, irritation flooding her. What kind of chicken s**t didn’t stay around to finish a job? Especially when he had the advantage in the element of surprise.
As the mist closed in she released several more blasts of white hot light towards a few of the parked cars in the area. The holo-owners were tucked away inside dreamy little apartments and condos. She’d read somewhere, that when the fog was so bad in Europe that it was like pea soup, flame had been used to cleanse the air to allow planes to land. Several small explosions later left her with car shaped bonfires.
Her eyes turned to Aren curiously. The mist was pretty thick and she wasn’t sure where it was coming from. She wasn’t sure what her little bonfires would do but it gave them faint reference points to work with. Narcissa would have suggested, like so many others, that they go up—But with Blake masquerading as an evil Bob the Builder it wasn’t the brightest idea. Instead she twirled her laser gun around her finger and began to walk down the street. “Here Alpha’s…”, she called tauntingly, hoping that she could lure one out into the open. “Come out come out wherever you are…”
Narcissa only had so much patience. If she couldn’t track down any of the black and blue ingrates on her own she’d just have to crash someone else’s party. She headed in the direction Peyton and Christian had disappeared in—Not really bothering to be stealthy. It didn’t matter to her if someone got a few shots off on her. All she needed was their location.
“I don’t understand why they won’t just come on out so we can move on. They’re like filthy rats. It’s too bad I don’t have the tolerance for a trap…”, she murmured to the only Omega that had decided to stay in her vicinity. Every so often her skin brightened and she released another energy blast at a car. It served to light their way and the noise should draw attention.
