Gently petting Charl's head, Vincent seemed to have calmed down a bit, but he was still releasing that heavy pressure. "It won't be permanent, just long enough so that I can sort out my feelings and maybe grow a little." Vincent then became serious, "Listen Charl, when the battle starts, I want you to stay as far away as you possibly can. I don;t want you to end up hurt because of this."
Charl was silent for a moment or two before she nodded and continued hugging Vincent, eventually burying her face in his shoulder "I am sorry..." she said eventually.
Vincent continued petting the doll's head, before stopping as she apologized. Looking towards her, he had a warm expression, "Why are you apologizing?"
After hearing Charl's explanation, Vincent sighed and picked the doll up, holding her so that their eyes met, "You did not make me sad. I am just a little angry, but that's and you did not make Reina leave. I asked her to go because I did not want her to see me in this state." Vincent then held the doll close to his chest, hugging her. The last time he had hugged Charl, was when he was a small kid, now he was much bigger teen. "You don't have to apologize."
While Vincent and Charl were in the middle of speaking, a powerful wavelength could be sensed as a black mass would appear before them. As he stared within the mass, Vincent would see Shira being tossed out, followed by the man that had taken his brother's life, Despair. Stepping out of the portal, Despair glanced towards Vincent, who instantly grew upset and shouted. "How dare you!!!" releasing a large amount of energy, Vincent would charge towards Despair, intending to kill him. Seeing this, Despair only scoffed as he vanished and reappeared behind the boy, landing a powerful blow to the back of his neck. This one blow, was more than enough to knock the young boy out. Sighing, Despair glanced down at Vincent, "I'll deal with you later." he muttered before looking over at Charl, "I trust that you will keep this little visit of mine, a secret from Charlotte?" he asked, though it was more like a threat. Walking towards the house, Despair looked towards Shira, who he had tossed on the ground. "I'll return shortly, in the meantime, maybe you should say your final goodbyes." he told he before motioning towards the tombstone, that Vincent had erected for Atticus. Despair then went into the house.
Shira fell on the ground and quickly jumped back up as Despair knocked out Vincent. She quickly ran over to him to see if he was alright before glaring up at Despair. Her gaze slowly went back to the tombstone that was nearby. She flinched then and glanced at the ground.

As he left Shira outside to...well, say her last words of goodbye, Despair would enter the house and stand in the living room. "Now, where are you?" he muttered quietly to himself before walking off towards one of the other rooms.
Shira was silent for a moment before looking at the tombstone once more. She stared at it for a minute or two and then got up and ran into the house to find Despair. "What the hell are you doing?!" she called out.

Just as Shira ran into the house, Despair would be coming out of another room, "Would you mind lowering your voice and mind your manners? This is not your home." he commented, seeming a little annoyed at her. "So, I take it that you finished saying your goodbyes?" he asked. As he said this, Despair reached into his pocket and took out a note, as well as an golden ring. "This is a letter that Atticus wrote you. You see, he knew that he was going to die, but instead of putting everyone through trouble of constantly worrying about him and searching for help, he decided to end it his own way. You see, he and I came up with the plan to kill him. He chose me, because, well, I was the only one capable of doing it." Despair explained as he threw both the ring and letter towards her. "Written in that letter are the last words of Atticus Eternia and the ring is his gift for you. That was going to be your engagement ring." Despair would walk towards her then, "However, I would advise you not to read it. Since you couldn't even muster enough courage to say goodbye." Despair exited the house and made his way over towards Atticus' tombstone and just stared at it, almost as if he was mourning as well.
Shira kept a frown on her face as she watched Despair. She caught the letter and the ring then and stared at them for a moment. "I couldn't say goodbye because you killed him before I had the chance to do so," she told him as she looked at the ring. she closed it in her hand tightly before looking at the note and opening it.

As Shira opened the note, she would begin reading Atticus' words: "Dear, Shira. If you are reading this, then that could only mean that Despair has held up his part of the plan and killed me. I'm that I made this decision on my own, but I knew that if I told you, you would try to stop me and I couldn't let that happen. I knew that there was no way to save my life and as I came to this realization, I couldn't bear the thought of having you and everyone else, searching endlessly,to help me. I just couldn't put you all through that, so I decided that I would take me own life. Shira, I there was truly any other way, I want you to know that I would have tried it, but in the end, there wasn't. So, please do not blame yourself or anyone for my death, if you must, then blame me. Since that is the case, I want to take this time and tell you how I truly feel about you.
When we first met, to be honest, I was a little annoyed by you. I had been partnered with an spoiled and bratty princess, that can't do a single thing for herself or so I thought. The longer we spent with one another, the more I began to understand and see the real you. It wasn't until, I thought that I had lost you forever, that I had truly realized my feelings. I had fell in love with you. I couldn't stop picturing your smile or your life. I longed to be with you every second of the day. It grew to the point that we even became engaged. As we got a chance to glimpse our future, I was actually pretty happy that you and I had a child. I would give anything, just to get one more glimpse of us together. Shira, I may be gone from this world, but I want you to know that no matter what. No matter the troubles we've been through in the past, no matter the fights we've had with one another, I never stopped loving you. Though my body is gone, my soul and will, shall live on with you, guide you and protect you from whatever trouble may come your way. Remember that no matter what, I will always love you."
As the note ended, Despair turned around and stared back at Shira, "I don't know how you did it, but you managed to change that guy. Hell, you even managed to change me. It would be a real shame if such a influential and powerful person such as yourself, stop now. Even with Atticus' death, you must continue to move forward."
