giggleing wildly she wiggled, yelling. " never surrender!"
Bain couldnt help laughing, catching Reks around her waiste gently. winking at Sergei she said in a playfuly evil voice. " i got her now, she will never get away." teaseingly she added. " she is a big one, i think she would make a good supper."

Sergei froze, he had almost forgotten in all this excitement.
"My dear, I must attend to my guards, you see, they haven't eaten in two days and I had promised Issac I would change the guard more frequently as standing around all day has been weakening their muscles."Sergei walked into the main hall and pulled out a whistle out from a pocket in his coat and blew it. The giant suits of armor that seemed to be decorations actually came to life and began to walk into another hallway. A minute later another group of suits of armor came marching in and replaced the ones that left. Sergei then came back and chuckled to himself.
"Lycan's are truly am interesting race. Deprive them of food and they're fine, but deprive them of training and all hell breaks loose. Mind you, I would feed them if they would let me. I used to have twelve hour shifts but they wouldn't eat willingly so I stopped."

Bain picked Reks up, who was panting from laughing so hard. tossing her carful over her shoulder she raised an eyebrow at Sergei, an amused smile turning up the corners of her mouth. without preamble she walked to Sergei and droped Reks into his arms, carful to keep a hand on her childs arm. " alright, here is the start of your ruleing. its time for her to go to bed." it would be funny to see Sergei handle this battle.. Bain had learned from experiance.. it was hard to say no to a big pair of puppy eyes.
Reks protested, looking from one to the other. " hey.. im old enough to stay up, i wont cause problums.. honost.." her eyes were already drooping, thought she fought valiantly to keep them open.

Sergei laughed, this would be an easy task. He waved his hand over Reks' face and her eyes closed. A second later she was sleeping and he handed her to a servant who carried her up to her room.
"There, much better. She'll awaken whenever she feels fully rested. Does that meet your standard?"Sergei smirked and sat back on his throne.

"Dont underestimate her." Bain murmered, smileing slightly as she watched the servant leave. they were going to have their hands full.. Reks was more than just a demon. leaning her hip against the throne she crossed her arms, saying amused. " wish i had had that trick sometimes, she always gets hyper when we had to travel. getting her to sleep took almost an hour." she shruged, saying more to herself than to him. " though it was nice.. to do something normal like raise and protect Reks.. she kept me saine."

Sergei shook his head and brushed back his hair.
"No, I suspect she won't be waking up, mostly because I basically just fooled her mind into thinking she had taken a sedative. She's perfectly fine of course, it's basically my way of ensuring she gets a good nights sleep."

"she needs you to teach her." she murmered, looking at the ground yet not seeing it. she was thinking, not paying attention to what she was looking at. "the mind trick is cute Sergei, but sometimes its nessisary to do things the hard way. you would be surprised at what you learn. good night Sergei." drifting from the throne room she seemed in a daze, brushing a hand across a statue absently as she wondered the halls.
she had been able to push it away.. ignore it for Reks's sake. now she had time to greive and figure things out. looking around she found herself in the garden.. how many hours had she spent in this very place? pondering what she could do.. which path to take. sighing she sank to the ground, her back against the rail as she drew her knees up and wraped her arms around them. this was the safest place for Reks, as far from the monsters as she could bring her daughter.. but she wasnt a fool. they killed Dedrius.. they would come after Reks as well. she felt a tear trickle down her cheek and she gritted her teeth.

A soldier came from one of the rooms when Bain left and knelt.
"I take it you are here for the days orders. I have them written, take them to Gregor and this one take to Viktor."He handed a rather large scroll to the soldier for Gregor, and a smaller one for Viktor. Gregor's were military orders, Viktor's were financial. The soldier left the room and exited through the portal.

Coming up through the courtyard reading his orders, Viktor almost missed the young woman curled up against the ornate railing.. He slowly came to a stop near her, and then rolled his scroll, tucking it deep into his robes. Looking down upon her, he held out a jewelry laden, but soft and gentle looking hand.
Er, excuse me miss.. It is a tad late to be out in the courtyard. May I escort you inside? Perhaps have a dear boy get you a meal, tea? If not, it is still quite cold out hear, I would presume as much for yourself.
With that, he took off his large fur robes, and hung them over his left arm, in an offer for her to put them on, still holding out his right hand to help her up.

stiffening Bain looked up, startled by his voice. her teeth clentched and she closed her eyes, forceing herself up and to smile at the man politely. " thank you sir, but i believe ill survive." her smile softened a bit and she let her shoulders relax, reminding herself that it was safe to let her gaurd down. looking at him she brushed the skirt of her dress off, clearing her throat. " the cold doesnt bother me. are you in need of something?" she wasnt sure what she could do, but she would help if she could.

Seeing her multitude of unpleasant reactions towards his arrival, Viktor frowned and removed his hand, allowing it to fall slowly to his side..
Miss. I am so sorry, allow me to introduce myself, I completely forgot.. I am Lord Viktor Krushnik Latverious, cousin of Lord Sergei Latverious. At your service of course, Lady Latverious. I saw you for a moment when I first arrived. But, now I can allow for a more thorough greeting. It is truly a pleasure to be back home, and to see our livelihood growing, it is truly a tremendous feeling.. Would you believe, I have not seen this castle in over 300 years.. I have finally come back to my family-... Oh, I do apologize, my reminiscent ideas tend to pop in and out of my head quite frequently. I will not bore you with such nonsense.. Back to what I was originally attempting to communicate to you.. I apologize if I was interjecting upon a moment of self reflection, if that is in fact what you were doing. And please allow me to make a few observational comments.. I noticed that you tend to watch your shoulder ever so closely, even in such an establishment as this.. I would bequest that you need not continue that, for at Castle de Latverious, you are guaranteed your continued safety. Also, the, er, emotional stress that I am sure you must be going through, should never be dealt with outside in the less than balmy weather. I continue to beseech you that you must head indoors, and continue your thoughts in the peaceful decadence of this place. For all of the courtyards beauty, it tends to be a tad stark in comforting ammenities.. Lastly, if all I have said to you is not necessarily what you would like to hear, then just please give a word, and I will see to it that the door does not hit me in the a** on my way out.. I am at your service Lady Latverious.
He bowed momentarily, then raised his head to smile politely at her, genuine concern showing for her in his eyes. He held out his had for her once more.

Bain couldnt help laughing, takeing his hand and gestureing back into the building. " you know, that was a fairly long explanation for a short answer. your family, and im sorry i was rude." she kept from winceing as she added. " i had a momentary thought of my past." attepting to smile she said kindly. " im sure Sergei and Reks would like to talk with you, would you care to stay for a bit?"

Smling as he lifted her up, Viktor nodded.
Yes, well, I tend to draw things out a bit if I dont catch myself... Not a good trait, but one that can be useful at times. In any case, I was in fact attempting to visit my dear cousin, for we have a bit of business to discuss. And most assuredly, I would love to meet the little one, I love children. Had my own once...
He smiled grimly for a moment, then regained his composure immediately, becoming a jubilent person once more.

noteing his expression she didnt comment, instead politely noding. hateing to see such a happy person sad, even for a short time, she smiled at him and winked teaseingly. " im sure Reks would love to meet you. im sure that she is around here somewhere." her voice was a bit lowder than normal, and answered with a giggle from behind the doorway.
Reks, fully pleased with herself, crept an inch closer to the door and flattened against the stone. she had fallen asleep before.. and couldnt figure out how her dad had made her do it. shrugging it off she decided to work it out later, instead chooseing to fallow the man from before. not many things could keep her still if she chose otherwise. she heard her mom say something and couldnt help but laugh, turning to run back down the hall. her foot caught on the top stair and she yelped, tumbleing backwards.
Bain caught her easily, tickleing her sides as she smiled. " i thought i heard someone, be carful baby." looking up at Viktor she straitened, still resting her hands lightly on Reks's shoulders. " im being rude.. my name is Andarabain.. or Bain for short. this is my daughter Reks."

Lark, leaveing Shea and Nia to look after Ann, had fallowed Reks. she had met the younger girl in the halls, sneaking around and causeing a bit of mischeif. Reks had saw her, and imidiately draged her into the game. Lark sighed, sitting on the steps and watching the group. she was comfterble staying silent, finding it better to listen before speaking. resting her chin on her hand she let her gold eyes half close, tiered but alert.
