Ooooooooh cool beans! A cool new challenge too. I'm going to have fun with this one.

Anyways, you asked for a picture of the leine, so here it is.

As you can see, there's a ton of fabric in the red over leine. The top and bottom is 60" wide and the neckline and sleeves are made simply by pinning at the shoulders with some brooches. The skirt is pretty straight on the under leine because in that time period they were very conservative with fabric and the use of gors to widen a skirt hadn't come into practice yet. The neckline is a boat neckline which means it is literally the two pieces of fabric not sewn together. There was no cutting involved. I just didn't sew the neckline together and then hemmed the open part. I like it because it is really easy to make and I always have trouble with necklines. But overall the outfit is very comfortable and I have plenty of room to decorate it. Still need to find some pretty trim for the red over leine.

very cool!! i'm still very impressed by your sewing skills... my skills extend to ... button replacement.. that's it. what about some gold or yellow on the over leine? that would be cool. or 0oo 0ooo! how about a golden fox crest or something... or wait... would you have a crest on that kinda outfit? *not aware of fashion of any decade...cept the 70's disco baby! * ok... i think i'm too tired. say when are you coming back to minnesota?
